the Janmeja. According to the Hindu mythology, Janmeja was a famous king who was the son of Preekhat and the grandson of Lord Arjuna. His father King Preekhat was bitten by a snake. Janmeja became an enemy of snakes. He killed many snakes by performing a Yag ceremony. Beas was its guru. He performed the Asamedh Yag once. His wife came there in very thin clothes. Eighteen Brahmans came to eat and laughed. The king killed those Brahmains. Because of Brahma-hatya, leprosy broke out to Janmeja. He then listened to the story of Mahabharata. Thereafter the leprosy went away. When he heard that the elephants that Bhima threw in the sky had not yet fallen back, Janmeja became suspicious. Leprosy then settled on his thumb.
