ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਚਿਤੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਇ ॥
बिखु माइआ चितु मोहिआ भाई चतुराई पति खोइ ॥
Bikẖ mā▫i▫ā cẖiṯ mohi▫ā bẖā▫ī cẖaṯurā▫ī paṯ kẖo▫e.
The poisonous mammon has bewitched the man's mind, and through cleverness he loses his honour, O brother.

ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਚਿ ਵਸੈ ਭਾਈ ਜੇ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਮੋਇ ॥੨॥
चित महि ठाकुरु सचि वसै भाई जे गुर गिआनु समोइ ॥२॥
Cẖiṯ mėh ṯẖākur sacẖ vasai bẖā▫ī je gur gi▫ān samo▫e. ||2||
If Guru-given Divine knowledge permeates man's heart, the True Lord abides in his mind, O brother.

ਰੂੜੌ ਰੂੜੌ ਆਖੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਰੂੜੌ ਲਾਲ ਚਲੂਲੁ ॥
रूड़ौ रूड़ौ आखीऐ भाई रूड़ौ लाल चलूलु ॥
Rūṛou rūṛou ākẖī▫ai bẖā▫ī rūṛou lāl cẖalūl.
Beauteous, beauteous in said to be the Lord. He is beautiful like the red poppy-flower.

ਜੇ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਦਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਅਭੂਲੁ ॥੩॥
जे मनु हरि सिउ बैरागीऐ भाई दरि घरि साचु अभूलु ॥३॥
Je man har si▫o bairāgī▫ai bẖā▫ī ḏar gẖar sācẖ abẖūl. ||3||
If man bears love to God, O brother, he is accounted as true and infallible in His court and mansion.

ਪਾਤਾਲੀ ਆਕਾਸਿ ਤੂ ਭਾਈ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਤੂ ਗੁਣ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
पाताली आकासि तू भाई घरि घरि तू गुण गिआनु ॥
Pāṯālī ākās ṯū bẖā▫ī gẖar gẖar ṯū guṇ gi▫ān.
Thou, O Lord, art pervading the under-world and sky and amongst all the hearts art Thine merits and wisdom.

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨਹੁ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥੪॥
गुर मिलिऐ सुखु पाइआ भाई चूका मनहु गुमानु ॥४॥
Gur mili▫ai sukẖ pā▫i▫ā bẖā▫ī cẖūkā manhu gumān. ||4||
Meeting with the Guru, the man is blessed with peace, and pride is dispelled from his mind.

ਜਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਕਾਇਆ ਮਾਜੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਭੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
जलि मलि काइआ माजीऐ भाई भी मैला तनु होइ ॥
Jal mal kā▫i▫ā mājī▫ai bẖā▫ī bẖī mailā ṯan ho▫e.
Rubbing with water, the body is cleaned, but the body again gathers dirt.

ਗਿਆਨਿ ਮਹਾ ਰਸਿ ਨਾਈਐ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥
गिआनि महा रसि नाईऐ भाई मनु तनु निरमलु होइ ॥५॥
Gi▫ān mahā ras nā▫ī▫ai bẖā▫ī man ṯan nirmal ho▫e. ||5||
Bathing with the great elixir of gnosis the soul and body are rendered pure.

ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਾ ਪੂਜੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਕਿਆ ਮਾਗਉ ਕਿਆ ਦੇਹਿ ॥
देवी देवा पूजीऐ भाई किआ मागउ किआ देहि ॥
Ḏevī ḏevā pūjī▫ai bẖā▫ī ki▫ā māga▫o ki▫ā ḏėh.
Why worship goddesses and gods O brother; what can one ask from them and what can they give him?

ਪਾਹਣੁ ਨੀਰਿ ਪਖਾਲੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਬੂਡਹਿ ਤੇਹਿ ॥੬॥
पाहणु नीरि पखालीऐ भाई जल महि बूडहि तेहि ॥६॥
Pāhaṇ nīr pakẖālī▫ai bẖā▫ī jal mėh būḏẖėh ṯehi. ||6||
The stone gods are washed with water, O brother, but they themselves sink in water.
|
ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਲਖੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਜਗੁ ਬੂਡੈ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਇ ॥
गुर बिनु अलखु न लखीऐ भाई जगु बूडै पति खोइ ॥
Gur bin alakẖ na lakẖī▫ai bẖā▫ī jag būdai paṯ kẖo▫e.
Without the Guru, the unseen Lord is not seen and the world is drowned, shorn of its honour.

ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਾਥਿ ਵਡਾਈਆ ਭਾਈ ਜੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈ ਦੇਇ ॥੭॥
मेरे ठाकुर हाथि वडाईआ भाई जै भावै तै देइ ॥७॥
Mere ṯẖākur hāth vadā▫ī▫ā bẖā▫ī jai bẖāvai ṯai ḏe▫e. ||7||
The, greatness is in the hand of my Lord, O brother he gives it to him alone, whom He likes.

ਬਈਅਰਿ ਬੋਲੈ ਮੀਠੁਲੀ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਚੁ ਕਹੈ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਇ ॥
बईअरि बोलै मीठुली भाई साचु कहै पिर भाइ ॥
Ba▫ī▫ar bolai mīṯẖulī bẖā▫ī sācẖ kahai pir bẖā▫e.
The bride, who talks sweetly and tells the truth, becomes pleasing to her groom, O brother.

ਬਿਰਹੈ ਬੇਧੀ ਸਚਿ ਵਸੀ ਭਾਈ ਅਧਿਕ ਰਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ॥੮॥
बिरहै बेधी सचि वसी भाई अधिक रही हरि नाइ ॥८॥
Birhai beḏẖī sacẖ vasī bẖā▫ī aḏẖik rahī har nā▫e. ||8||
Pierced through with her Lord's love, she abides in truth and remains deeply imbue with God's Name.

ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਆਖੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਬੁਝੈ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ॥
सभु को आखै आपणा भाई गुर ते बुझै सुजानु ॥
Sabẖ ko ākẖai āpṇā bẖā▫ī gur ṯe bujẖai sujān.
Every one calls God his own, O brother, but it is through the Guru that the Omniscient Lord is known.
|
ਜੋ ਬੀਧੇ ਸੇ ਊਬਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚਾ ਨੀਸਾਨੁ ॥੯॥
जो बीधे से ऊबरे भाई सबदु सचा नीसानु ॥९॥
Jo bīḏẖe se ūbre bẖā▫ī sabaḏ sacẖā nīsān. ||9||
They, who are pierced through with their Lord's love, are saved and they are stamped with the True Name.

ਈਧਨੁ ਅਧਿਕ ਸਕੇਲੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਰੰਚਕ ਪਾਇ ॥
ईधनु अधिक सकेलीऐ भाई पावकु रंचक पाइ ॥
Īḏẖan aḏẖik sakelī▫ai bẖā▫ī pāvak rancẖak pā▫e.
As an amassed heap of fire-wood is burnt off by applying a little fire,
|
ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਭਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲਣੁ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੧੦॥੪॥
खिनु पलु नामु रिदै वसै भाई नानक मिलणु सुभाइ ॥१०॥४॥
Kẖin pal nām riḏai vasai bẖā▫ī Nānak milaṇ subẖā▫e. ||10||4||
O brother, likewise the Name burns off the sins, even if it abides for a moment and trice in the mind. Then the mortal easily meets with the Lord.

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਤਿਤੁਕੀ
सोरठि महला ३ घरु १ तितुकी
Soraṯẖ mėhlā 3 gẖar 1 ṯiṯukī
Sorath 3rd Guru Tituki.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By True Guru's grace is He obtained.
|
ਭਗਤਾ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਤੂ ਰਖਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਤੂ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ॥
भगता दी सदा तू रखदा हरि जीउ धुरि तू रखदा आइआ ॥
Bẖagṯā ḏī saḏā ṯū rakẖ▫ḏā har jī▫o ḏẖur ṯū rakẖ▫ḏā ā▫i▫ā.
Thou, O dear Lord, ever preserve the dignity of Thine saints and from the very. beginning.

ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਜਨ ਤੁਧੁ ਰਾਖਿ ਲਏ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਹਰਣਾਖਸੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਚਾਇਆ ॥
प्रहिलाद जन तुधु राखि लए हरि जीउ हरणाखसु मारि पचाइआ ॥
Par▫hilāḏ jan ṯuḏẖ rākẖ la▫e har jī▫o harṇākẖas mār pacẖā▫i▫ā.
Thou hast been safeguarding their honour; Thou, O reverend God, rescued Prahlad, Thy slave and utterly annihilated Harnakhsh.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
गुरमुखा नो परतीति है हरि जीउ मनमुख भरमि भुलाइआ ॥१॥
Gurmukẖā no parṯīṯ hai har jī▫o manmukẖ bẖaram bẖulā▫i▫ā. ||1||
The Guru-wards have faith in Thee, but the apostates go astray in doubt,
|
ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਏਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
हरि जी एह तेरी वडिआई ॥
Har jī eh ṯerī vadi▫ā▫ī.
O beloved Lord, O Venerable God, this is Thine glory.
|
ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖੁ ਤੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
भगता की पैज रखु तू सुआमी भगत तेरी सरणाई ॥ रहाउ ॥
Bẖagṯā kī paij rakẖ ṯū su▫āmī bẖagaṯ ṯerī sarṇā▫ī. Rahā▫o.
Thou savest the honour of Thine devotee Thine devotees seek Thy refuge, O Lord. Pause.
|
ਭਗਤਾ ਨੋ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਨੇੜੈ ਜਾਈ ॥
भगता नो जमु जोहि न साकै कालु न नेड़ै जाई ॥
Bẖagṯā no jam johi na sākai kāl na neṛai jā▫ī.
God's slave, the Death's courier dare not touch, nor can death draw near them.
|
ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
केवल राम नामु मनि वसिआ नामे ही मुकति पाई ॥
Keval rām nām man vasi▫ā nāme hī mukaṯ pā▫ī.
The Lord's Name alone dwells within their mind and only through the Name, obtains they, the salvation.

ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਸਭ ਭਗਤਾ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥੨॥
रिधि सिधि सभ भगता चरणी लागी गुर कै सहजि सुभाई ॥२॥
Riḏẖ siḏẖ sabẖ bẖagṯā cẖarṇī lāgī gur kai sahj subẖā▫ī. ||2||
Wealth and super-natural powers, all fall at the saints, feet, as they are blessed with equipoise and sublime faith by the Guru.

ਮਨਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
मनमुखा नो परतीति न आवी अंतरि लोभ सुआउ ॥
Manmukẖā no parṯīṯ na āvī anṯar lobẖ su▫ā▫o.
The Perverse have no faith in the Guru Within them there is greed and self-interest.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਭੇਦਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਨ ਲਾਗਾ ਭਾਉ ॥
गुरमुखि हिरदै सबदु न भेदिओ हरि नामि न लागा भाउ ॥
Gurmukẖ hirḏai sabaḏ na beḏi▫o har nām na lāgā bẖā▫o.
They realise not the name in their mind, through the Guru, nor do they enshrine affection for the God's Name.

ਕੂੜ ਕਪਟ ਪਾਜੁ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਸੀ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਫੀਕਾ ਅਲਾਉ ॥੩॥
कूड़ कपट पाजु लहि जासी मनमुख फीका अलाउ ॥३॥
Kūṛ kapat pāj lėh jāsī manmukẖ fīkā alā▫o. ||3||
The gilt of falsehood and hypocrisy shall fade away. An apostate ever talks dryly.
|
ਭਗਤਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਹੂ ਤੂ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
भगता विचि आपि वरतदा प्रभ जी भगती हू तू जाता ॥
Bẖagṯā vicẖ āp varaṯḏā parabẖ jī bẖagṯī hū ṯū jāṯā.
Thou Thyself workest through Thine saints, O dear Lord and through Thine devotees Thou art known.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੂ ਏਕੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
माइआ मोह सभ लोक है तेरी तू एको पुरखु बिधाता ॥
Mā▫i▫ā moh sabẖ lok hai ṯerī ṯū eko purakẖ biḏẖāṯā.
All the mortals engrossed in the love of wealth, are Thine and Thou alone art Creator Lord.
