ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਨਾ
जपि मन राम नामु रसना ॥
Jap man rām nām rasnā.
Chant the Name of the Lord with your tongue, O mind.

ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਤ ਲਿਖੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਸਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
मसतकि लिखत लिखे गुरु पाइआ हरि हिरदै हरि बसना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Masṯak likẖaṯ likẖe gur pā▫i▫ā har hirḏai har basnā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
According to the pre-ordained destiny written upon my forehead, I have found the Guru, and the Lord abides within my heart. ||1||Pause||

ਮਾਇਆ ਗਿਰਸਤਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੁ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਜਨੁ ਅਪਨਾ
माइआ गिरसति भ्रमतु है प्रानी रखि लेवहु जनु अपना ॥
Mā▫i▫ā girsaṯ bẖarmaṯ hai parānī rakẖ levhu jan apnā.
Entangled in Maya, the mortal wanders around. Save Your humble servant, O Lord,

ਜਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦੁ ਹਰਣਾਖਸਿ ਗ੍ਰਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੨॥
जिउ प्रहिलादु हरणाखसि ग्रसिओ हरि राखिओ हरि सरना ॥२॥
Ji▫o par▫hilāḏ harṇākẖas garsi▫o har rākẖi▫o har sarnā. ||2||
as you saved Prahlaad from the clutches of Harnaakash; keep him in Your Sanctuary, Lord. ||2||

ਕਵਨ ਕਵਨ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵੰਨਾ
कवन कवन की गति मिति कहीऐ हरि कीए पतित पवंना ॥
Kavan kavan kī gaṯ miṯ kahī▫ai har kī▫e paṯiṯ pavannā.
How can I describe the state and the condition, O Lord, of those many sinners you have purified?

ਓਹੁ ਢੋਵੈ ਢੋਰ ਹਾਥਿ ਚਮੁ ਚਮਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਉਧਰਿਓ ਪਰਿਓ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੩॥
ओहु ढोवै ढोर हाथि चमु चमरे हरि उधरिओ परिओ सरना ॥३॥
Oh dẖovai dẖor hāth cẖam cẖamre har uḏẖāri▫o pari▫o sarnā. ||3||
Ravi Daas, the leather-worker, who worked with hides and carried dead animals was saved, by entering the Lord's Sanctuary. ||3||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਭਗਤ ਭਵ ਤਾਰਨ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਰਾਖੁ ਪਪਨਾ
प्रभ दीन दइआल भगत भव तारन हम पापी राखु पपना ॥
Parabẖ ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl bẖagaṯ bẖav ṯāran ham pāpī rākẖ papnā.
O God, Merciful to the meek, carry Your devotees across the world-ocean; I am a sinner - save me from sin!

ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਨ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸ ਹਮ ਕਰੀਅਹੁ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸੰਨਾ ॥੪॥੧॥
हरि दासन दास दास हम करीअहु जन नानक दास दासंना ॥४॥१॥
Har ḏāsan ḏās ḏās ham karī▫ahu jan Nānak ḏās ḏāsannā. ||4||1||
O Lord, make me the slave of the slave of Your slaves; servant Nanak is the slave of Your slaves. ||4||1||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ
बिलावलु महला ४ ॥
Bilāval mėhlā 4.
Bilaaval, Fourth Mehl:

ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਮਤੀ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਜਨਮਾ
हम मूरख मुगध अगिआन मती सरणागति पुरख अजनमा ॥
Ham mūrakẖ mugaḏẖ agi▫ān maṯī sarṇāgaṯ purakẖ ajnamā.
I am foolish, idiotic and ignorant; I seek Your Sanctuary, O Primal Being, O Lord beyond birth.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਮ ਪਾਥਰ ਹੀਨ ਅਕਰਮਾ ॥੧॥
करि किरपा रखि लेवहु मेरे ठाकुर हम पाथर हीन अकरमा ॥१॥
Kar kirpā rakẖ levhu mere ṯẖākur ham pāthar hīn akarmā. ||1||
Have Mercy upon me, and save me, O my Lord and Master; I am a lowly stone, with no good karma at all. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੈ ਰਾਮਾ
मेरे मन भजु राम नामै रामा ॥
Mere man bẖaj rām nāmai rāmā.
O my mind, vibrate and meditate on the Lord, the Name of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਹੋਰਿ ਤਿਆਗਹੁ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
गुरमति हरि रसु पाईऐ होरि तिआगहु निहफल कामा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gurmaṯ har ras pā▫ī▫ai hor ṯi▫āgahu nihfal kāmā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Under Guru's Instructions, obtain the sublime, subtle essence of the Lord; renounce other fruitless actions. ||1||Pause||

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਰੇ ਹਮ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਰਾਖੁ ਉਪਮਾ
हरि जन सेवक से हरि तारे हम निरगुन राखु उपमा ॥
Har jan sevak se har ṯāre ham nirgun rākẖ upmā.
The humble servants of the Lord are saved by the Lord; I am worthless - it is Your glory to save me.

ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਵਡੇ ਕਰੰਮਾ ॥੨॥
तुझ बिनु अवरु न कोई मेरे ठाकुर हरि जपीऐ वडे करमा ॥२॥
Ŧujẖ bin avar na ko▫ī mere ṯẖākur har japī▫ai vade karammā. ||2||
I have no other than You, O my Lord and Master; I meditate on the Lord, by my good karma. ||2||

ਨਾਮਹੀਨ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਵਡ ਦੂਖ ਸਹੰਮਾ
नामहीन ध्रिगु जीवते तिन वड दूख सहमा ॥
Nāmhīn ḏẖarig jīvṯe ṯin vad ḏūkẖ sahammā.
Those who lack the Naam, the Name of the Lord, their lives are cursed, and they must endure terrible pain.

ਓਇ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਵਾਈਅਹਿ ਮੰਦਭਾਗੀ ਮੂੜ ਅਕਰਮਾ ॥੩॥
ओइ फिरि फिरि जोनि भवाईअहि मंदभागी मूड़ अकरमा ॥३॥
O▫e fir fir jon bẖavā▫ī▫ah manḏ▫bẖāgī mūṛ akarmā. ||3||
They are consigned to reincarnation over and over again; they are the most unfortunate fools, with no good karma at all. ||3||

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਧੁਰਿ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖੇ ਵਡ ਕਰਮਾ
हरि जन नामु अधारु है धुरि पूरबि लिखे वड करमा ॥
Har jan nām aḏẖār hai ḏẖur pūrab likẖe vad karmā.
The Naam is the Support of the Lord's humble servants; their good karma is pre-ordained.

ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਫਲੁ ਜਨੰਮਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
गुरि सतिगुरि नामु द्रिड़ाइआ जन नानक सफलु जनमा ॥४॥२॥
Gur saṯgur nām driṛ▫ā▫i▫ā jan Nānak safal jannamā. ||4||2||
The Guru, the True Guru, has implanted the Naam within servant Nanak, and his life is fruitful. ||4||2||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ
बिलावलु महला ४ ॥
Bilāval mėhlā 4.
Bilaaval, Fourth Mehl:

ਹਮਰਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲੁਭਤ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਹੁ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰਾ
हमरा चितु लुभत मोहि बिखिआ बहु दुरमति मैलु भरा ॥
Hamrā cẖiṯ lubẖaṯ mohi bikẖi▫ā baho ḏurmaṯ mail bẖarā.
My consciousness is lured by emotional attachment and corruption; is filled with evil-minded filth.

ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਸਕਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਮ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਮੁਗਧ ਤਰਾ ॥੧॥
तुम्हरी सेवा करि न सकह प्रभ हम किउ करि मुगध तरा ॥१॥
Ŧumĥrī sevā kar na sakah parabẖ ham ki▫o kar mugaḏẖ ṯarā. ||1||
I cannot serve You, O God; I am ignorant - how can I cross over? ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਨਰਹਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਰਹਰਾ
मेरे मन जपि नरहर नामु नरहरा ॥
Mere man jap narhar nām narharā.
O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, the Lord, the Lord of man.

ਜਨ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जन ऊपरि किरपा प्रभि धारी मिलि सतिगुर पारि परा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jan ūpar kirpā parabẖ ḏẖārī mil saṯgur pār parā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
God has showered His Mercy upon His humble servant; meeting with the True Guru, he is carried across. ||1||Pause||

ਹਮਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਤੀ ਜਸੁ ਕਰਾ
हमरे पिता ठाकुर प्रभ सुआमी हरि देहु मती जसु करा ॥
Hamre piṯā ṯẖākur parabẖ su▫āmī har ḏeh maṯī jas karā.
O my Father, my Lord and Master, Lord God, please bless me with such understanding, that I may sing Your Praises.

ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਗੇ ਸੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਾਸਟ ਲੋਹ ਤਰਾ ॥੨॥
तुम्हरै संगि लगे से उधरे जिउ संगि कासट लोह तरा ॥२॥
Ŧumĥrai sang lage se uḏẖre ji▫o sang kāsat loh ṯarā. ||2||
Those who are attached to You are saved, like iron which is carried across with wood. ||2||

ਸਾਕਤ ਨਰ ਹੋਛੀ ਮਤਿ ਮਧਿਮ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਕਰਾ
साकत नर होछी मति मधिम जिन्ह हरि हरि सेव न करा ॥
Sākaṯ nar hocẖẖī maṯ maḏẖim jinĥ har har sev na karā.
The faithless cynics have little or no understanding; they do not serve the Lord, Har, Har.

ਤੇ ਨਰ ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਦੁਹਚਾਰੀ ਓਇ ਜਨਮਿ ਮੁਏ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਾ ॥੩॥
ते नर भागहीन दुहचारी ओइ जनमि मुए फिरि मरा ॥३॥
Ŧe nar bẖāghīn ḏuhcẖārī o▫e janam mu▫e fir marā. ||3||
Those beings are unfortunate and vicious; they die, and are consigned to reincarnation, over and over again. ||3||

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਏ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਾ
जिन कउ तुम्ह हरि मेलहु सुआमी ते न्हाए संतोख गुर सरा ॥
Jin ka▫o ṯumĥ har melhu su▫āmī ṯe nĥā▫e sanṯokẖ gur sarā.
Those whom You unite with Yourself, O Lord and Master, bathe in the Guru's cleansing pool of contentment.

ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਈ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਿਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾ ॥੪॥੩॥
दुरमति मैलु गई हरि भजिआ जन नानक पारि परा ॥४॥३॥
Ḏurmaṯ mail ga▫ī har bẖaji▫ā jan Nānak pār parā. ||4||3||
Vibrating upon the Lord, the filth of their evil-mindedness is washed away; servant Nanak is carried across. ||4||3||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ
बिलावलु महला ४ ॥

Bilaaval, Fourth Mehl:

ਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਕਰਹੁ
आवहु संत मिलहु मेरे भाई मिलि हरि हरि कथा करहु ॥
Āvhu sanṯ milhu mere bẖā▫ī mil har har kathā karahu.
Come, O Saints, and join together, O my Siblings of Destiny; let us tell the Stories of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਹੈ ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਖੇਵਟੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਤਰਹੁ ॥੧॥
हरि हरि नामु बोहिथु है कलजुगि खेवटु गुर सबदि तरहु ॥१॥
Har har nām bohith hai kaljug kẖevat gur sabaḏ ṯarahu. ||1||
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the boat in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga; the Word of the Guru's Shabad is the boatman to ferry us across. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਹਰਿ ਉਚਰਹੁ
मेरे मन हरि गुण हरि उचरहु ॥
Mere man har guṇ har ucẖrahu.
O my mind, chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਤ ਲਿਖੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
मसतकि लिखत लिखे गुन गाए मिलि संगति पारि परहु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Masṯak likẖaṯ likẖe gun gā▫e mil sangaṯ pār parahu. ||1|| rahā▫o.
According to the pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon your forehead, sing the Praises of the Lord; join the Holy Congregation, and cross over the world-ocean. ||1||Pause||
