ਕਾਲਿ ਦੈਤਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਗਏ ॥੨॥
कालि दैति संघारे जम पुरि गए ॥२॥
Kāl ḏaiṯ sangẖāre jam pur ga▫e. ||2||
They are destroyed by Death's demons, and they must go to the City of Death. ||2||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
गुरमुखि हरि हरि हरि लिव लागे ॥
Gurmukẖ har har har liv lāge.
The Gurmukhs are lovingly attached to the Lord, Har, Har, Har.

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੋਊ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੩॥
जनम मरण दोऊ दुख भागे ॥३॥
Janam maraṇ ḏo▫ū ḏukẖ bẖāge. ||3||
Their pains of both birth and death are taken away. ||3||
|
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
भगत जना कउ हरि किरपा धारी ॥
Bẖagaṯ janā ka▫o har kirpā ḏẖārī.
The Lord showers His Mercy on His humble devotees.

ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੨॥
गुरु नानकु तुठा मिलिआ बनवारी ॥४॥२॥
Gur Nānak ṯuṯẖā mili▫ā banvārī. ||4||2||
Guru Nanak has shown mercy to me; I have met the Lord, the Lord of the forest. ||4||2||

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨ ਕੋਠੜੀ ਗੜ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਏਕ ਲੁਕਾਨੀ ॥
राम नामु रतन कोठड़ी गड़ मंदरि एक लुकानी ॥
Rām nām raṯan koṯẖ▫ṛī gaṛ manḏar ek lukānī.
The Lord's Name is a jewel, hidden in a chamber of the palace of the body-fortress.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਖੋਜੀਐ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
सतिगुरु मिलै त खोजीऐ मिलि जोती जोति समानी ॥१॥
Saṯgur milai ṯa kẖojī▫ai mil joṯī joṯ samānī. ||1||
When one meets the True Guru, then he searches and finds it, and his light merges with the Divine Light. ||1||

ਮਾਧੋ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
माधो साधू जन देहु मिलाइ ॥
Māḏẖo sāḏẖū jan ḏeh milā▫e.
O Lord, lead me to meet with the Holy Person, the Guru.

ਦੇਖਤ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਪ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
देखत दरसु पाप सभि नासहि पवित्र परम पदु पाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḏekẖaṯ ḏaras pāp sabẖ nāsėh paviṯar param paḏ pā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all my sins are erased, and I obtain the supreme, sublime, sanctified status. ||1||Pause||

ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਨਗਰੀਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਹਿਰਿਆ ॥
पंच चोर मिलि लागे नगरीआ राम नाम धनु हिरिआ ॥
Pancẖ cẖor mil lāge nagrī▫ā rām nām ḏẖan hiri▫ā.
The five thieves join together and plunder the body-village, stealing the wealth of the Lord's Name.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਜ ਪਰੇ ਤਬ ਪਕਰੇ ਧਨੁ ਸਾਬਤੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਉਬਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
गुरमति खोज परे तब पकरे धनु साबतु रासि उबरिआ ॥२॥
Gurmaṯ kẖoj pare ṯab pakre ḏẖan sābaṯ rās ubri▫ā. ||2||
But through the Guru's Teachings, they are traced and caught, and this wealth is recovered intact. ||2||

ਪਾਖੰਡ ਭਰਮ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
पाखंड भरम उपाव करि थाके रिद अंतरि माइआ माइआ ॥
Pakẖand bẖaram upāv kar thāke riḏ anṯar mā▫i▫ā mā▫i▫ā.
Practicing hypocrisy and superstition, people have grown weary of the effort, but still, deep within their hearts, they yearn for Maya, Maya.

ਸਾਧੂ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪੁਰਖਪਤਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
साधू पुरखु पुरखपति पाइआ अगिआन अंधेरु गवाइआ ॥३॥
Sāḏẖū purakẖ purakẖpaṯ pā▫i▫ā agi▫ān anḏẖer gavā▫i▫ā. ||3||
By the Grace of the Holy Person, I have met with the Lord, the Primal Being, and the darkness of ignorance is dispelled. ||3||

ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਾਧੁ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥
जगंनाथ जगदीस गुसाई करि किरपा साधु मिलावै ॥
Jagannāth jagḏīs gusā▫ī kar kirpā sāḏẖ milāvai.
The Lord, the Lord of the Earth, the Lord of the Universe, in His Mercy, leads me to meet the Holy Person, the Guru.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥
नानक सांति होवै मन अंतरि नित हिरदै हरि गुण गावै ॥४॥१॥३॥
Nānak sāʼnṯ hovai man anṯar niṯ hirḏai har guṇ gāvai. ||4||1||3||
O Nanak, peace then comes to abide deep within my mind, and I constantly sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord within my heart. ||4||1||3||

ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡ ਅਗਮ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਹਮ ਕੀਰੇ ਕਿਰਮ ਤੁਮਨਛੇ ॥
तुम्ह वड पुरख वड अगम गुसाई हम कीरे किरम तुमनछे ॥
Ŧumĥ vad purakẖ vad agam gusā▫ī ham kīre kiram ṯumnacẖẖe.
You are the Great Supreme Being, the Vast and Inaccessible Lord of the World; I am a mere insect, a worm created by You.

ਹਰਿ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਹਮ ਬਨਛੇ ॥੧॥
हरि दीन दइआल करहु प्रभ किरपा गुर सतिगुर चरण हम बनछे ॥१॥
Har ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl karahu parabẖ kirpā gur saṯgur cẖaraṇ ham bancẖẖe. ||1||
O Lord, Merciful to the meek, please grant Your Grace; O God, I long for the feet of the Guru, the True Guru. ||1||

ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਛੇ ॥
गोबिंद जीउ सतसंगति मेलि करि क्रिपछे ॥
Gobinḏ jī▫o saṯsangaṯ mel kar kirpacẖẖe.
O Dear Lord of the Universe, please be merciful and unite me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਮਲੁ ਭਰਿਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਨਛੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जनम जनम के किलविख मलु भरिआ मिलि संगति करि प्रभ हनछे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Janam janam ke kilvikẖ mal bẖari▫ā mil sangaṯ kar parabẖ hancẖẖe. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I was overflowing with the filthy sins of countless past lives. But joining the Sangat, God made me pure again. ||1||Pause||

ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰਾ ਜਨੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਅਵਿਜਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵੀਛੇ ॥
तुम्हरा जनु जाति अविजाता हरि जपिओ पतित पवीछे ॥
Ŧumĥrā jan jāṯ avijāṯā har japi▫o paṯiṯ pavīcẖẖe.
Your humble servant, whether of high class or low class, O Lord - by meditating on You, the sinner becomes pure.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀਓ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਿਨਛੇ ॥੨॥
हरि कीओ सगल भवन ते ऊपरि हरि सोभा हरि प्रभ दिनछे ॥२॥
Har kī▫o sagal bẖavan ṯe ūpar har sobẖā har parabẖ ḏincẖẖe. ||2||
The Lord exalts and elevates him above the whole world, and the Lord God blesses him with the Lord's Glory. ||2||
|
ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਸਭਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਨਸ ਤਿਨਛੇ ॥
जाति अजाति कोई प्रभ धिआवै सभि पूरे मानस तिनछे ॥
Jāṯ ajāṯ ko▫ī parabẖ ḏẖi▫āvai sabẖ pūre mānas ṯincẖẖe.
Anyone who meditates on God, whether of high class or low class, will have all of his hopes and desires fulfilled.

ਸੇ ਧੰਨਿ ਵਡੇ ਵਡ ਪੂਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਛੇ ॥੩॥
से धंनि वडे वड पूरे हरि जन जिन्ह हरि धारिओ हरि उरछे ॥३॥
Se ḏẖan vade vad pūre har jan jinĥ har ḏẖāri▫o har urcẖẖe. ||3||
Those humble servants of the Lord who enshrine the Lord within their hearts, are blessed, and are made great and totally perfect. ||3||

ਹਮ ਢੀਂਢੇ ਢੀਮ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਛੇ ॥
हम ढींढे ढीम बहुतु अति भारी हरि धारि क्रिपा प्रभ मिलछे ॥
Ham dẖīʼndẖe dẖīm bahuṯ aṯ bẖārī har ḏẖār kirpā parabẖ milcẖẖe.
I am so low, I am an utterly heavy lump of clay. Please shower Your Mercy on me, Lord, and unite me with Yourself.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਤੂਠੇ ਹਮ ਕੀਏ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵੀਛੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥
जन नानक गुरु पाइआ हरि तूठे हम कीए पतित पवीछे ॥४॥२॥४॥
Jan Nānak gur pā▫i▫ā har ṯūṯẖe ham kī▫e paṯiṯ pavīcẖẖe. ||4||2||4||
The Lord, in His Mercy, has led servant Nanak to find the Guru; I was a sinner, and now I have become immaculate and pure. ||||4||2||4||

ਮੇਰਾ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਗੀਧੇ ॥
मेरा इकु खिनु मनूआ रहि न सकै नित हरि हरि नाम रसि गीधे ॥
Merā ik kẖin manū▫ā rėh na sakai niṯ har har nām ras gīḏẖe.
My mind cannot survive, even for an instant, without the Lord. I drink in continually the sublime essence of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਜਿਉ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਰਸਕਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਥਨਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਥਨਿ ਕਾਢੇ ਬਿਲਲ ਬਿਲੀਧੇ ॥੧॥
जिउ बारिकु रसकि परिओ थनि माता थनि काढे बिलल बिलीधे ॥१॥
Ji▫o bārik rasak pari▫o than māṯā than kādẖe bilal bilīḏẖe. ||1||
It is like a baby, who joyfully sucks at his mother's breast; when the breast is withdrawn, he weeps and cries. ||1||
|
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਬੀਧੇ ॥
गोबिंद जीउ मेरे मन तन नाम हरि बीधे ॥
Gobinḏ jī▫o mere man ṯan nām har bīḏẖe.
O Dear Lord of the Universe, my mind and body are pierced through by the Name of the Lord.

ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰ ਹਰਿ ਸੀਧੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
वडै भागि गुरु सतिगुरु पाइआ विचि काइआ नगर हरि सीधे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
vadai bẖāg gur saṯgur pā▫i▫ā vicẖ kā▫i▫ā nagar har sīḏẖe. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By great good fortune, I have found the Guru, the True Guru, and in the body-village, the Lord has revealed Himself. ||1||Pause||
