ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰਿ
तिसु जन के सभि काज सवारि ॥
Ŧis jan ke sabẖ kāj savār.
all his affairs are resolved.

ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ
तिस का राखा एको सोइ ॥
Ŧis kā rākẖā eko so▫e.
The One Lord is his Protector.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਪੜਿ ਸਾਕੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੭॥
जन नानक अपड़ि न साकै कोइ ॥४॥४॥१७॥
Jan Nānak apaṛ na sākai ko▫e. ||4||4||17||
O servant Nanak, no one can equal him. ||4||4||17||

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ
भैरउ महला ५ ॥
Bẖairo mėhlā 5.
Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:

ਤਉ ਕੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਬਾਹਰਿ
तउ कड़ीऐ जे होवै बाहरि ॥
Ŧa▫o kaṛī▫ai je hovai bāhar.
We should feel sad, if God were beyond us.

ਤਉ ਕੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਨਰਹਰਿ
तउ कड़ीऐ जे विसरै नरहरि ॥
Ŧa▫o kaṛī▫ai je visrai narhar.
We should feel sad, if we forget the Lord.

ਤਉ ਕੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਏ
तउ कड़ीऐ जे दूजा भाए ॥
Ŧa▫o kaṛī▫ai je ḏūjā bẖā▫e.
We should feel sad, if we are in love with duality.

ਕਿਆ ਕੜੀਐ ਜਾਂ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੧॥
किआ कड़ीऐ जां रहिआ समाए ॥१॥
Ki▫ā kaṛī▫ai jāʼn rahi▫ā samā▫e. ||1||
But why should we feel sad? The Lord is pervading everywhere. ||1||

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਕੜੇ ਕੜਿ ਪਚਿਆ
माइआ मोहि कड़े कड़ि पचिआ ॥
Mā▫i▫ā mohi kaṛe kaṛ pacẖi▫ā.
In love and attachment to Maya, the mortals are sad, and are consumed by sadness.

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਖਪਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
बिनु नावै भ्रमि भ्रमि भ्रमि खपिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bin nāvai bẖaram bẖaram bẖaram kẖapi▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Without the Name, they wander and wander and wander, and waste away. ||1||Pause||

ਤਉ ਕੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਰਤਾ
तउ कड़ीऐ जे दूजा करता ॥
Ŧa▫o kaṛī▫ai je ḏūjā karṯā.
We should feel sad, if there were another Creator Lord.

ਤਉ ਕੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਅਨਿਆਇ ਕੋ ਮਰਤਾ
तउ कड़ीऐ जे अनिआइ को मरता ॥
Ŧa▫o kaṛī▫ai je ani▫ā▫e ko marṯā.
We should feel sad, if someone dies by injustice.

ਤਉ ਕੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਨਾਹੀ
तउ कड़ीऐ जे किछु जाणै नाही ॥
Ŧa▫o kaṛī▫ai je kicẖẖ jāṇai nāhī.
We should feel sad, if something were not known to the Lord.

ਕਿਆ ਕੜੀਐ ਜਾਂ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
किआ कड़ीऐ जां भरपूरि समाही ॥२॥
Ki▫ā kaṛī▫ai jāʼn bẖarpūr samāhī. ||2||
But why should we feel sad? The Lord is totally permeating everywhere. ||2||

ਤਉ ਕੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਇ ਧਿਙਾਣੈ
तउ कड़ीऐ जे किछु होइ धिङाणै ॥
Ŧa▫o kaṛī▫ai je kicẖẖ ho▫e ḏẖińāṇai.
We should feel sad, if God were a tyrant.

ਤਉ ਕੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਰੰਞਾਣੈ
तउ कड़ीऐ जे भूलि रंञाणै ॥
Ŧa▫o kaṛī▫ai je bẖūl rañāṇe.
We should feel sad, if He made us suffer by mistake.

ਗੁਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਜੋ ਹੋਇ ਸਭੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇ
गुरि कहिआ जो होइ सभु प्रभ ते ॥
Gur kahi▫ā jo ho▫e sabẖ parabẖ ṯe.
The Guru says that whatever happens is all by God's Will.

ਤਬ ਕਾੜਾ ਛੋਡਿ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਹਮ ਸੋਤੇ ॥੩॥
तब काड़ा छोडि अचिंत हम सोते ॥३॥
Ŧab kāṛā cẖẖod acẖinṯ ham soṯe. ||3||
So I have abandoned sadness, and I now sleep without anxiety. ||3||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੂਹੈ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਤੇਰਾ
प्रभ तूहै ठाकुरु सभु को तेरा ॥
Parabẖ ṯūhai ṯẖākur sabẖ ko ṯerā.
O God, You alone are my Lord and Master; all belong to You.

ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਕਰਹਿ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ
जिउ भावै तिउ करहि निबेरा ॥
Ji▫o bẖāvai ṯi▫o karahi niberā.
According to Your Will, You pass judgment.

ਦੁਤੀਆ ਨਾਸਤਿ ਇਕੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ
दुतीआ नासति इकु रहिआ समाइ ॥
Ḏuṯī▫ā nāsaṯ ik rahi▫ā samā▫e.
There is no other at all; the One Lord is permeating and pervading everywhere.

ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪੈਜ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੮॥
राखहु पैज नानक सरणाइ ॥४॥५॥१८॥
Rākẖo paij Nānak sarṇā▫e. ||4||5||18||
Please save Nanak's honor; I have come to Your Sanctuary. ||4||5||18||

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ
भैरउ महला ५ ॥
Bẖairo mėhlā 5.
Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:

ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਜੇ ਕੈਸੋ ਨਿਰਤਿਕਾਰੀ
बिनु बाजे कैसो निरतिकारी ॥
Bin bāje kaiso nirṯikārī.
Without music, how is one to dance?

ਬਿਨੁ ਕੰਠੈ ਕੈਸੇ ਗਾਵਨਹਾਰੀ
बिनु कंठै कैसे गावनहारी ॥
Bin kanṯẖai kaise gāvanhārī.
Without a voice, how is one to sing?

ਜੀਲ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਬਜੈ ਰਬਾਬ
जील बिना कैसे बजै रबाब ॥
Jīl binā kaise bajai rabāb.
Without strings, how is a guitar to be played?

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਬਿਰਥੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਜ ॥੧॥
नाम बिना बिरथे सभि काज ॥१॥
Nām binā birthe sabẖ kāj. ||1||
Without the Naam, all affairs are useless. ||1||

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਹਹੁ ਕੋ ਤਰਿਆ
नाम बिना कहहु को तरिआ ॥
Nām binā kahhu ko ṯari▫ā.
Without the Naam - tell me: who has ever been saved?

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈਸੇ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
बिनु सतिगुर कैसे पारि परिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bin saṯgur kaise pār pari▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Without the True Guru, how can anyone cross over to the other side? ||1||Pause||

ਬਿਨੁ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਬਕਤਾ
बिनु जिहवा कहा को बकता ॥
Bin jihvā kahā ko bakṯā.
Without a tongue, how can anyone speak?

ਬਿਨੁ ਸ੍ਰਵਨਾ ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਤਾ
बिनु स्रवना कहा को सुनता ॥
Bin sarvanā kahā ko sunṯā.
Without ears, how can anyone hear?

ਬਿਨੁ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਾ ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਪੇਖੈ
बिनु नेत्रा कहा को पेखै ॥
Bin neṯarā kahā ko pekẖai.
Without eyes, how can anyone see?

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਰੁ ਕਹੀ ਲੇਖੈ ॥੨॥
नाम बिना नरु कही न लेखै ॥२॥
Nām binā nar kahī na lekẖai. ||2||
Without the Naam, the mortal is of no account at all. ||2||

ਬਿਨੁ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਕਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੰਡਿਤ
बिनु बिदिआ कहा कोई पंडित ॥
Bin biḏi▫ā kahā ko▫ī pandiṯ.
Without learning, how can one be a Pandit - a religious scholar?

ਬਿਨੁ ਅਮਰੈ ਕੈਸੇ ਰਾਜ ਮੰਡਿਤ
बिनु अमरै कैसे राज मंडित ॥
Bin amrai kaise rāj mandiṯ.
Without power, what is the glory of an empire?

ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਕਹਾ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਨਾ
बिनु बूझे कहा मनु ठहराना ॥
Bin būjẖe kahā man ṯẖėhrānā.
Without understanding, how can the mind become steady?

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਬਉਰਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
नाम बिना सभु जगु बउराना ॥३॥
Nām binā sabẖ jag ba▫urānā. ||3||
Without the Naam, the whole world is insane. ||3||

ਬਿਨੁ ਬੈਰਾਗ ਕਹਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ
बिनु बैराग कहा बैरागी ॥
Bin bairāg kahā bairāgī.
Without detachment, how can one be a detached hermit?

ਬਿਨੁ ਹਉ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕਹਾ ਕੋਊ ਤਿਆਗੀ
बिनु हउ तिआगि कहा कोऊ तिआगी ॥
Bin ha▫o ṯi▫āg kahā ko▫ū ṯi▫āgī.
Without renouncing egotism, how can anyone be a renunciate?

ਬਿਨੁ ਬਸਿ ਪੰਚ ਕਹਾ ਮਨ ਚੂਰੇ
बिनु बसि पंच कहा मन चूरे ॥
Bin bas pancẖ kahā man cẖūre.
Without overcoming the five thieves, how can the mind be subdued?

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਝੂਰੇ ॥੪॥
नाम बिना सद सद ही झूरे ॥४॥
Nām binā saḏ saḏ hī jẖūre. ||4||
Without the Naam, the mortal regrets and repents forever and ever. ||4||

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਦੀਖਿਆ ਕੈਸੇ ਗਿਆਨੁ
बिनु गुर दीखिआ कैसे गिआनु ॥
Bin gur ḏīkẖi▫ā kaise gi▫ān.
Without the Guru's Teachings, how can anyone obtain spiritual wisdom?

ਬਿਨੁ ਪੇਖੇ ਕਹੁ ਕੈਸੋ ਧਿਆਨੁ
बिनु पेखे कहु कैसो धिआनु ॥
Bin pekẖe kaho kaiso ḏẖi▫ān.
Without seeing - tell me: how can anyone visualize in meditation?

ਬਿਨੁ ਭੈ ਕਥਨੀ ਸਰਬ ਬਿਕਾਰ
बिनु भै कथनी सरब बिकार ॥
Bin bẖai kathnī sarab bikār.
Without the Fear of God, all speech in useless.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰ ਕਾ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥੫॥੬॥੧੯॥
कहु नानक दर का बीचार ॥५॥६॥१९॥
Kaho Nānak ḏar kā bīcẖār. ||5||6||19||
Says Nanak, this is the wisdom of the Lord's Court. ||5||6||19||

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ
भैरउ महला ५ ॥

Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:

ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕਉ ਦੀਨਾ
हउमै रोगु मानुख कउ दीना ॥
Ha▫umai rog mānukẖ ka▫o ḏīnā.
Mankind is afflicted with the disease of egotism.

ਕਾਮ ਰੋਗਿ ਮੈਗਲੁ ਬਸਿ ਲੀਨਾ
काम रोगि मैगलु बसि लीना ॥
Kām rog maigal bas līnā.
The disease of sexual desire overwhelms the elephant.

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਰੋਗਿ ਪਚਿ ਮੁਏ ਪਤੰਗਾ
द्रिसटि रोगि पचि मुए पतंगा ॥
Ḏarisat rog pacẖ mu▫e paṯangā.
Because of the disease of vision, the moth is burnt to death.

ਨਾਦ ਰੋਗਿ ਖਪਿ ਗਏ ਕੁਰੰਗਾ ॥੧॥
नाद रोगि खपि गए कुरंगा ॥१॥
Nāḏ rog kẖap ga▫e kurangā. ||1||
Because of the disease of the sound of the bell, the deer is lured to its death. ||1||

ਜੋ ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਸੋ ਰੋਗੀ
जो जो दीसै सो सो रोगी ॥
Jo jo ḏīsai so so rogī.
Whoever I see is diseased.

ਰੋਗ ਰਹਿਤ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜੋਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
रोग रहित मेरा सतिगुरु जोगी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Rog rahiṯ merā saṯgur jogī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Only my True Guru, the True Yogi, is free of disease. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਹਵਾ ਰੋਗਿ ਮੀਨੁ ਗ੍ਰਸਿਆਨੋ
जिहवा रोगि मीनु ग्रसिआनो ॥
Jihvā rog mīn garsi▫āno.
Because of the disease of taste, the fish is caught.

ਬਾਸਨ ਰੋਗਿ ਭਵਰੁ ਬਿਨਸਾਨੋ
बासन रोगि भवरु बिनसानो ॥
Bāsan rog bẖavar binsāno.
Because of the disease of smell, the bumble bee is destroyed.

ਹੇਤ ਰੋਗ ਕਾ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ
हेत रोग का सगल संसारा ॥
Heṯ rog kā sagal sansārā.
The whole world is caught in the disease of attachment.

ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਰੋਗ ਮਹਿ ਬਧੇ ਬਿਕਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
त्रिबिधि रोग महि बधे बिकारा ॥२॥
Ŧaribaḏẖ rog mėh baḏẖe bikārā. ||2||
In the disease of the three qualities, corruption is multiplied. ||2||

ਰੋਗੇ ਮਰਤਾ ਰੋਗੇ ਜਨਮੈ
रोगे मरता रोगे जनमै ॥
Roge marṯā roge janmai.
In disease the mortals die, and in disease they are born.

ਰੋਗੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਰਮੈ
रोगे फिरि फिरि जोनी भरमै ॥
Roge fir fir jonī bẖarmai.
In disease they wander in reincarnation again and again.
