ਜਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਗਇਆ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਆ ਨੀਕਾ
Jarā jīvan joban ga▫i▫ā kicẖẖ kī▫ā na nīkā.
Youth and old age - my entire life has passed, but I haven't done any good.

ਇਹੁ ਜੀਅਰਾ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੋ ਕਉਡੀ ਲਗਿ ਮੀਕਾ ॥੩॥
Ih jī▫arā nirmolko ka▫udī lag mīkā. ||3||
This priceless soul has been treated as if it were worth no more than a shell. ||3||

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਧਵਾ ਤੂ ਸਰਬ ਬਿਆਪੀ
Kaho Kabīr mere māḏẖvā ṯū sarab bi▫āpī.
Says Kabeer, O my Lord, You are contained in all.

ਤੁਮ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਪਾਪੀ ॥੪॥੩॥
Ŧum samsar nāhī ḏa▫i▫āl mohi samsar pāpī. ||4||3||
There is none as merciful as You are, and none as sinful as I am. ||4||3||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ
Bilāval.
Bilaaval:

ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਕੋਰੀ ਗਾਗਰਿ ਆਨੈ ਲੀਪਤ ਜੀਉ ਗਇਓ
Niṯ uṯẖ korī gāgar ānai līpaṯ jī▫o ga▫i▫o.
Every day, he rises early, and brings a fresh clay pot; he passes his life embellishing and glazing it.

ਤਾਨਾ ਬਾਨਾ ਕਛੂ ਸੂਝੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਲਪਟਿਓ ॥੧॥
Ŧānā bānā kacẖẖū na sūjẖai har har ras lapti▫o. ||1||
He does not think at all of worldly weaving; he is absorbed in the subtle essence of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

ਹਮਾਰੇ ਕੁਲ ਕਉਨੇ ਰਾਮੁ ਕਹਿਓ
Hamāre kul ka▫une rām kahi▫o.
Who in our family has ever chanted the Name of the Lord?

ਜਬ ਕੀ ਮਾਲਾ ਲਈ ਨਿਪੂਤੇ ਤਬ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਭਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
Jab kī mālā la▫ī nipūṯe ṯab ṯe sukẖ na bẖa▫i▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Ever since this worthless son of mine began chanting with his mala, we have had no peace at all! ||1||Pause||

ਸੁਨਹੁ ਜਿਠਾਨੀ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਦਿਰਾਨੀ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਏਕੁ ਭਇਓ
Sunhu jiṯẖānī sunhu ḏirānī acẖraj ek bẖa▫i▫o.
Listen, O my sisters-in-law, a wondrous thing has happened!

ਸਾਤ ਸੂਤ ਇਨਿ ਮੁਡੀਂਏ ਖੋਏ ਇਹੁ ਮੁਡੀਆ ਕਿਉ ਮੁਇਓ ॥੨॥
Sāṯ sūṯ in mudīʼne kẖo▫e ih mudī▫ā ki▫o na mu▫i▫o. ||2||
This boy has ruined our weaving business. Why didn't he simply die? ||2||

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਕਾ ਏਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਇਓ
Sarab sukẖā kā ek har su▫āmī so gur nām da▫i▫o.
O mother, the One Lord, the Lord and Master, is the source of all peace. The Guru has blessed me with His Name.

ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਹਰਨਾਖਸੁ ਨਖ ਬਿਦਰਿਓ ॥੩॥
Sanṯ parahlāḏ kī paij jin rākẖī harnākẖas nakẖ biḏri▫o. ||3||
He preserved the honor of Prahlaad, and destroyed Harnaakhash with his nails. ||3||

ਘਰ ਕੇ ਦੇਵ ਪਿਤਰ ਕੀ ਛੋਡੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਲਇਓ
Gẖar ke ḏev piṯar kī cẖẖodī gur ko sabaḏ la▫i▫o.
I have renounced the gods and ancestors of my house, for the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਪਾਪ ਖੰਡਨੁ ਸੰਤਹ ਲੈ ਉਧਰਿਓ ॥੪॥੪॥
Kahaṯ Kabīr sagal pāp kẖandan sanṯėh lai uḏẖāri▫o. ||4||4||
Says Kabeer, God is the Destroyer of all sins; He is the Saving Grace of His Saints. ||4||4||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ
Bilāval.
Bilaaval:

ਕੋਊ ਹਰਿ ਸਮਾਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਜਾ
Ko▫ū har samān nahī rājā.
There is no king equal to the Lord.

ਭੂਪਤਿ ਸਭ ਦਿਵਸ ਚਾਰਿ ਕੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਕਰਤ ਦਿਵਾਜਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
Ė bẖūpaṯ sabẖ ḏivas cẖār ke jẖūṯẖe karaṯ ḏivājā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
All these lords of the world last for only a few days, putting on their false displays. ||1||Pause||

ਤੇਰੋ ਜਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਇ ਕਤ ਡੋਲੈ ਤੀਨਿ ਭਵਨ ਪਰ ਛਾਜਾ
Ŧero jan ho▫e so▫e kaṯ dolai ṯīn bẖavan par cẖẖājā.
How can Your humble servant waver? You spread Your shadow over the three worlds.

ਹਾਥੁ ਪਸਾਰਿ ਸਕੈ ਕੋ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਬੋਲਿ ਸਕੈ ਅੰਦਾਜਾ ॥੧॥
Hāth pasār sakai ko jan ka▫o bol sakai na anḏājā. ||1||
Who can raise his hand against Your humble servant? No one can describe the Lord's expanse. ||1||

ਚੇਤਿ ਅਚੇਤ ਮੂੜ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਬਾਜਾ
Cẖeṯ acẖeṯ mūṛ man mere bāje anhaḏ bājā.
Remember Him, O my thoughtless and foolish mind, and the unstruck melody of the sound current will resonate and resound.

ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਸਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਚੂਕੋ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਨਿਵਾਜਾ ॥੨॥੫॥
Kahi Kabīr sansā bẖaram cẖūko ḏẖarū par▫hilāḏ nivājā. ||2||5||
Says Kabeer, my skepticism and doubt have been dispelled; the Lord has exalted me, as He did Dhroo and Prahlaad. ||2||5||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ
Bilāval.
Bilaaval:

ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਬਿਗਰੀ
Rākẖ leho ham ṯe bigrī.
Save me! I have disobeyed You.

ਸੀਲੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਜਪੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਹਉ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਟੇਢ ਪਗਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
Sīl ḏẖaram jap bẖagaṯ na kīnī ha▫o abẖimān tedẖ pagrī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I have not practiced humility, righteousness or devotional worship; I am proud and egotistical, and I have taken a crooked path. ||1||Pause||

ਅਮਰ ਜਾਨਿ ਸੰਚੀ ਇਹ ਕਾਇਆ ਇਹ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਕਾਚੀ ਗਗਰੀ
Amar jān sancẖī ih kā▫i▫ā ih mithi▫ā kācẖī gagrī.
Believing this body to be immortal, I pampered it, but it is a fragile and perishable vessel.

ਜਿਨਹਿ ਨਿਵਾਜਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਹਮ ਕੀਏ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਅਵਰ ਲਗਰੀ ॥੧॥
Jinėh nivāj sāj ham kī▫e ṯisėh bisār avar lagrī. ||1||
Forgetting the Lord who formed, fashioned and embellished me, I have become attached to another. ||1||

ਸੰਧਿਕ ਤੋਹਿ ਸਾਧ ਨਹੀ ਕਹੀਅਉ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰੇ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਪਗਰੀ
Sanḏẖik ṯohi sāḏẖ nahī kahī▫a▫o saran pare ṯumrī pagrī.
I am Your thief; I cannot be called holy. I have fallen at Your feet, seeking Your Sanctuary.

ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਇਹ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਸੁਨੀਅਹੁ ਮਤ ਘਾਲਹੁ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਖਬਰੀ ॥੨॥੬॥
Kahi Kabīr ih binṯī sunī▫ahu maṯ gẖālhu jam kī kẖabrī. ||2||6||
Says Kabeer, please listen to this prayer of mine, O Lord; please do not send me summons of the Messenger of Death. ||2||6||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ
Bilāval.
Bilaaval:

ਦਰਮਾਦੇ ਠਾਢੇ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ
Ḏarmāḏe ṯẖādẖe ḏarbār.
I stand humbly at Your Court.

ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਕਰੈ ਕੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਕਿਵਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
Ŧujẖ bin suraṯ karai ko merī ḏarsan ḏījai kẖoliĥ kivār. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Who else can take care of me, other than You? Please open Your door, and grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||Pause||

ਤੁਮ ਧਨ ਧਨੀ ਉਦਾਰ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਸ੍ਰਵਨਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸੁਨੀਅਤੁ ਸੁਜਸੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰ
Ŧum ḏẖan ḏẖanī uḏār ṯi▫āgī saravnanĥ sunī▫aṯ sujas ṯumĥār.
You are the richest of the rich, generous and unattached. With my ears, I listen to Your Praises.

ਮਾਗਉ ਕਾਹਿ ਰੰਕ ਸਭ ਦੇਖਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੋ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
Māga▫o kāhi rank sabẖ ḏekẖ▫a▫u ṯumĥ hī ṯe mero nisṯār. ||1||
From whom should I beg? I see that all are beggars. My salvation comes only from You. ||1||

ਜੈਦੇਉ ਨਾਮਾ ਬਿਪ ਸੁਦਾਮਾ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਭਈ ਹੈ ਅਪਾਰ
Jaiḏe▫o nāmā bip suḏāmā ṯin ka▫o kirpā bẖa▫ī hai apār.
You blessed Jai Dayv, Naam Dayv and Sudaamaa the Brahmin with Your infinite mercy.

ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਥ ਦਾਤੇ ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੇਤ ਬਾਰ ॥੨॥੭॥
Kahi Kabīr ṯum samrath ḏāṯe cẖār paḏārath ḏeṯ na bār. ||2||7||
Says Kabeer, You are the All-powerful Lord, the Great Giver; in an instant, You bestow the four great blessings. ||2||7||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ
Bilāval.
Bilaaval:

ਡੰਡਾ ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਖਿੰਥਾ ਆਧਾਰੀ
Dandā munḏrā kẖinthā āḏẖārī.
He has a walking stick, ear-rings, a patched coat and a begging bowl.

ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ਭਵੈ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
Bẖaram kai bẖā▫e bẖavai bẖekẖ▫ḏẖārī. ||1||
Wearing the robes of a beggar, he wanders around, deluded by doubt. ||1||
