ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਨਾਸਹਿ ॥
Gur simraṯ sabẖ kilvikẖ nāsėh.
Meditating in remembrance on the Guru, all the sins are erased.

ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਜਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਫਾਸਹਿ ॥
Gur simraṯ jam sang na fāsėh.
Meditating in remembrance on the Guru, one is not strangled by the noose of Death.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਾਟੇ ਅਪਮਾਨਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
Gur simraṯ man nirmal hovai gur kāte apmānā he. ||2||
Meditating in remembrance on the Guru, the mind becomes immaculate; the Guru eliminates egotistical pride. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥
Gur kā sevak narak na jā▫e.
The Guru's servant is not consigned to hell.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
Gur kā sevak pārbarahm ḏẖi▫ā▫e.
The Guru's servant meditates on the Supreme Lord God.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਏ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਦਾ ਨਿਤ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
Gur kā sevak sāḏẖsang pā▫e gur karḏā niṯ jī▫a ḏānā he. ||3||
The Guru's servant joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; the Guru ever gives the life of the soul. ||3||
|
ਗੁਰ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥
Gur ḏu▫ārai har kīrṯan suṇī▫ai.
At the Gurdwara, the Guru's Gate, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are sung.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਭਣੀਐ ॥
Saṯgur bẖet har jas mukẖ bẖaṇī▫ai.
Meeting with the True Guru, one chants the Lord's Praises.

ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟਾਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਦੇਵੈ ਮਾਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
Kal kales mitā▫e saṯgur har ḏargėh ḏevai mānāʼn he. ||4||
The True Guru eradicates sorrow and suffering, and bestows honor in the Court of the Lord. ||4||
|
ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
Agam agocẖar gurū ḏikẖā▫i▫ā.
The Guru has revealed the inaccessible and unfathomable Lord.
|
ਭੂਲਾ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Bẖūlā mārag saṯgur pā▫i▫ā.
The True Guru returns to the Path, those who have wandered away.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਭਗਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਗਿਆਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
Gur sevak ka▫o bigẖan na bẖagṯī har pūr ḏariṛ▫ā▫i▫ā gi▫ānāʼn he. ||5||
No obstacles stand in the way of devotion to the Lord, for one who serves the Guru. The Guru implants perfect spiritual wisdom. ||5||

ਗੁਰਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਆ ਸਭਨੀ ਠਾਂਈ ॥
Gur ḏaristā▫i▫ā sabẖnī ṯẖāʼn▫ī.
The Guru has revealed the Lord everywhere.
|
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਗੋਸਾਈ ॥
Jal thal pūr rahi▫ā gosā▫ī.
The Lord of the Universe is permeating and pervading the water and the land.
|
ਊਚ ਊਨ ਸਭ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਨਾਂ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
Ūcẖ ūn sabẖ ek samānāʼn man lāgā sahj ḏẖi▫ānā he. ||6||
The high and the low are all the same to Him. Focus your mind's meditation intuitively on Him. ||6||
|
ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
Gur mili▫ai sabẖ ṯarisan bujẖā▫ī.
Meeting with the Guru, all thirst is quenched.
|
ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਹ ਜੋਹੈ ਮਾਈ ॥
Gur mili▫ai nah johai mā▫ī.
Meeting with the Guru, one is not watched by Maya.
|
ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਦੀਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀ ਪਾਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
Saṯ sanṯokẖ ḏī▫ā gur pūrai nām amriṯ pī pānāʼn he. ||7||
The Perfect Guru bestows truth and contentment; I drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||7||
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਭ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
Gur kī baṇī sabẖ māhi samāṇī.
The Word of the Guru's Bani is contained in all.
|
ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥
Āp suṇī ṯai āp vakẖāṇī.
He Himself hears it, and He Himself repeats it.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਪੀ ਤੇਈ ਸਭਿ ਨਿਸਤ੍ਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਥਾਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
Jin jin japī ṯe▫ī sabẖ nisṯare ṯin pā▫i▫ā nihcẖal thānāʼn he. ||8||
Those who meditate on it, are all emancipated; they attain the eternal and unchanging home. ||8||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
Saṯgur kī mahimā saṯgur jāṇai.
The Glory of the True Guru is known only to the True Guru.
|
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣੈ ॥
Jo kicẖẖ kare so āpaṇ bẖāṇai.
Whatever He does, is according to the Pleasure of His Will.
|
ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਜਾਚਹਿ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੯॥੧॥੪॥
Sāḏẖū ḏẖūr jācẖėh jan ṯere Nānak saḏ kurbānāʼn he. ||9||1||4||
Your humble servants beg for the dust of the feet of the Holy; Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You. ||9||1||4||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਆਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
Āḏ niranjan parabẖ nirankārā.
The Primal, Immaculate Lord God is formless.
|
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰਾਰਾ ॥
Sabẖ mėh varṯai āp nirārā.
The Detached Lord is Himself prevailing in all.
|
ਵਰਨੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਸਭ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧॥
varan jāṯ cẖihan nahī ko▫ī sabẖ hukme sarisat upā▫iḏā. ||1||
He has no race or social class, no identifying mark. By the Hukam of His Will, He created the entire universe. ||1||
|
ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੋਨਿ ਸਬਾਈ ॥
Lakẖ cẖa▫orāsīh jon sabā▫ī.
Out of all the 8.4 million species of beings,
|
ਮਾਣਸ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦੀਈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Māṇas ka▫o parabẖ ḏī▫ī vadi▫ā▫ī.
God blessed mankind with glory.
|
ਇਸੁ ਪਉੜੀ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਨਰੁ ਚੂਕੈ ਸੋ ਆਇ ਜਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੨॥
Is pa▫oṛī ṯe jo nar cẖūkai so ā▫e jā▫e ḏukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||2||
That human who misses this chance, shall suffer the pains of coming and going in reincarnation. ||2||
|
ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਿਆ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
Kīṯā hovai ṯis ki▫ā kahī▫ai.
What should I say, to one who has been created.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਲਹੀਐ ॥
Gurmukẖ nām paḏārath lahī▫ai.
The Gurmukh receives the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਭੂਲੈ ਸੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਇਦਾ ॥੩॥
Jis āp bẖulā▫e so▫ī bẖūlai so būjẖai jisahi bujẖā▫iḏā. ||3||
He alone is confused, whom the Lord Himself confuses. He alone understands, whom the Lord inspires to understand. ||3||
|
ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਕਾ ਨਗਰੁ ਇਹੁ ਕੀਆ ॥
Harakẖ sog kā nagar ih kī▫ā.
This body has been made the village of joy and sorrow.
|
ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀਆ ॥
Se ubre jo saṯgur sarṇī▫ā.
They alone are emancipated, who seek the Sanctuary of the True Guru.
|
ਤ੍ਰਿਹਾ ਗੁਣਾ ਤੇ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਰਾਰਾ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੪॥
Ŧarihā guṇā ṯe rahai nirārā so gurmukẖ sobẖā pā▫iḏā. ||4||
One who remains untouched by the three qualities, the three gunas - such a Gurmukh is blessed with glory. ||4||
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਕੀਏ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ॥
Anik karam kī▫e bahuṯere.
You may do innumerable deeds,
|
ਜੋ ਕੀਜੈ ਸੋ ਬੰਧਨੁ ਪੈਰੇ ॥
Jo kījai so banḏẖan paire.
but whatever you do, only serves to tie your feet.
|
ਕੁਰੁਤਾ ਬੀਜੁ ਬੀਜੇ ਨਹੀ ਜੰਮੈ ਸਭੁ ਲਾਹਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਗਵਾਇਦਾ ॥੫॥
Kuruṯā bīj bīje nahī jammai sabẖ lāhā mūl gavā▫iḏā. ||5||
The seed which is planted out of season does not sprout, and all one's capital and profits are lost. ||5||
|
ਕਲਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਪਰਧਾਨਾ ॥
Kaljug mėh kīrṯan parḏẖānā.
In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are most sublime and exalted.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਲਾਇ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥
Gurmukẖ japī▫ai lā▫e ḏẖi▫ānā.
Become Gurmukh, chant and focus your meditation.
