ਲਗਿ ਲਗਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ਲਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
Lag lag parīṯ baho parīṯ lagā▫ī lag sāḏẖū sang savāre.
Fall in love, fall deeply in love with the Lord; clinging to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you will be exalted and embellished.

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੬॥
Gur ke bacẖan saṯ saṯ kar māne mere ṯẖākur bahuṯ pi▫āre. ||6||
Those who accept the Word of the Guru as True, totally True, are very dear to my Lord and Master. ||6||
|
ਪੂਰਬਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਪਰਚੂਨ ਕਮਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Pūrab janam parcẖūn kamā▫e har har har nām pi▫āre.
Because of actions committed in past lives, one comes to love the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har.

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਰਸੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ॥੭॥
Gur parsāḏ amriṯ ras pā▫i▫ā ras gāvai ras vīcẖāre. ||7||
By Guru's Grace, you shall obtain the ambrosial essence; sing of this essence, and reflect upon this essence. ||7||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਾਲਨ ਲਾਲ ਗੁਲਾਰੇ ॥
Har har rūp rang sabẖ ṯere mere lālan lāl gulāre.
O Lord, Har, Har, all forms and colors are Yours; O my Beloved, my deep crimson ruby.

ਜੈਸਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋ ਹੋਵੈ ਕਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ॥੮॥੩॥
Jaisā rang ḏėh so hovai ki▫ā Nānak janṯ vicẖāre. ||8||3||
Only that color which You impart, Lord, exists; O Nanak, what can the poor wretched being do? ||8||3||

ਰਾਮ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਰਖਵਾਰੇ ॥
Rām gur saran parabẖū rakẖvāre.
In the Sanctuary of the Guru, the Lord God saves and protects us,

ਜਿਉ ਕੁੰਚਰੁ ਤਦੂਐ ਪਕਰਿ ਚਲਾਇਓ ਕਰਿ ਊਪਰੁ ਕਢਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ji▫o kuncẖar ṯaḏū▫ai pakar cẖalā▫i▫o kar ūpar kadẖ nisṯāre. ||1|| rahā▫o.
as He protected the elephant, when the crocodile seized it and pulled it into the water; He lifted him up and pulled him out. ||1||Pause||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਕੇ ਮਨਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
Parabẖ ke sevak bahuṯ aṯ nīke man sarḏẖā kar har ḏẖāre.
God's servants are sublime and exalted; they enshrine faith for Him in their minds.

ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
Mere parabẖ sarḏẖā bẖagaṯ man bẖāvai jan kī paij savāre. ||1||
Faith and devotion are pleasing to my God's Mind; He saves the honor of His humble servants. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਭੁ ਦੇਖੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਸਾਰੇ ॥
Har har sevak sevā lāgai sabẖ ḏekẖai barahm pasāre.
The servant of the Lord, Har, Har, is committed to His service; He sees God pervading the entire expanse of the universe.

ਏਕੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਇਕੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
Ėk purakẖ ik naḏrī āvai sabẖ ekā naḏar nihāre. ||2||
He sees the One and only Primal Lord God, who blesses all with His Glance of Grace. ||2||
|
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਸਭੁ ਚੇਰੀ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਮਾਰੇ ॥
Har parabẖ ṯẖākur ravi▫ā sabẖ ṯẖā▫ī sabẖ cẖerī jagaṯ samāre.
God, our Lord and Master, is permeating and pervading all places; He takes care of the whole world as His slave.

ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਪਾਥਰ ਕੀਰੇ ਕਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
Āp ḏa▫i▫āl ḏa▫i▫ā ḏān ḏevai vicẖ pāthar kīre kāre. ||3||
The Merciful Lord Himself mercifully gives His gifts, even to worms in stones. ||3||
|
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਮੁਸਕਾਈ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭੂਲਾ ਮਿਰਗੁ ਸਿੰਙ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥
Anṯar vās bahuṯ muskā▫ī bẖaram bẖūlā mirag sińhāre.
Within the deer is the heavy fragrance of musk, but he is confused and deluded, and he shakes his horns looking for it.

ਬਨੁ ਬਨੁ ਢੂਢਿ ਢੂਢਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਥਾਕੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਘਰਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੪॥
Ban ban dẖūdẖ dẖūdẖ fir thākī gur pūrai gẖar nisṯāre. ||4||
Wandering, rambling and roaming through the forests and woods, I exhausted myself, and then in my own home, the Perfect Guru saved me. ||4||
|
ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਾਰੇ ॥
Baṇī gurū gurū hai baṇī vicẖ baṇī amriṯ sāre.
The Word, the Bani is Guru, and Guru is the Bani. Within the Bani, the Ambrosial Nectar is contained.

ਗੁਰੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਹੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
Gur baṇī kahai sevak jan mānai parṯakẖ gurū nisṯāre. ||5||
If His humble servant believes, and acts according to the Words of the Guru's Bani, then the Guru, in person, emancipates him. ||5||
|
ਸਭੁ ਹੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਖਾਵਾਰੇ ॥
Sabẖ hai barahm barahm hai pasri▫ā man bīji▫ā kẖāvāre.
All is God, and God is the whole expanse; man eats what he has planted.

ਜਿਉ ਜਨ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਹਾਂਸੁ ਦੁਖਿਆ ਧ੍ਰਿਸਟਬੁਧੀ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਘਰੁ ਲੂਕੀ ਜਾਰੇ ॥੬॥
Ji▫o jan cẖanḏar▫hāʼns ḏukẖi▫ā ḏẖaristbuḏẖī apunā gẖar lūkī jāre. ||6||
When Dhrishtabudhi tormented the humble devotee Chandrahaans, he only set his own house on fire. ||6||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਜਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਿਦ ਲੋਚੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਸਾਸ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
Parabẖ ka▫o jan anṯar riḏ locẖai parabẖ jan ke sās nihāre.
God's humble servant longs for Him within his heart; God watches over each breath of His humble servant.

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਜਨ ਪੀਛੈ ਜਗੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੭॥
Kirpā kirpā kar bẖagaṯ driṛ▫ā▫e jan pīcẖẖai jag nisṯāre. ||7||
Mercifully, mercifully, He implants devotion within his humble servant; for his sake, God saves the whole world. ||7||
|
ਆਪਨ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
Āpan āp āp parabẖ ṯẖākur parabẖ āpe sarisat savāre.
God, our Lord and Master, is Himself by Himself; God Himself embellishes the universe.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਸਭੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੮॥੪॥
Jan Nānak āpe āp sabẖ varṯai kar kirpā āp nisṯāre. ||8||4||
O servant Nanak, He Himself is all-pervading; in His Mercy, He Himself emancipates all. ||8||4||

ਰਾਮ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੇਹੁ ਉਬਾਰੇ ॥
Rām kar kirpā leho ubāre.
Grant Your Grace, Lord, and save me,

ਜਿਉ ਪਕਰਿ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਤੀ ਦੁਸਟਾਂ ਆਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਜ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ji▫o pakar ḏaropaṯī ḏustāʼn ānī har har lāj nivāre. ||1|| rahā▫o.
as You saved Dropadi from shame when she was seized and brought before the court by the evil villains. ||1||Pause||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਕੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Kar kirpā jācẖik jan ṯere ik māga▫o ḏān pi▫āre.
Bless me with Your Grace - I am just a humble beggar of Yours; I beg for a single blessing, O my Beloved.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਨਿਤ ਸਰਧਾ ਲਾਗੀ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
Saṯgur kī niṯ sarḏẖā lāgī mo ka▫o har gur mel savāre. ||1||
I long constantly for the True Guru. Lead me to meet the Guru, O Lord, that I may be exalted and embellished. ||1||
|
ਸਾਕਤ ਕਰਮ ਪਾਣੀ ਜਿਉ ਮਥੀਐ ਨਿਤ ਪਾਣੀ ਝੋਲ ਝੁਲਾਰੇ ॥
Sākaṯ karam pāṇī ji▫o mathī▫ai niṯ pāṇī jẖol jẖulāre.
The actions of the faithless cynic are like the churning of water; he churns, constantly churning only water.
|
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਢਿ ਮਾਖਨ ਕੇ ਗਟਕਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
Mil saṯsangaṯ param paḏ pā▫i▫ā kadẖ mākẖan ke gatkāre. ||2||
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, the supreme status is obtained; the butter is produced, and eaten with delight. ||2||
|
ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਕਾਇਆ ਮਜਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਨਿਤ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਦੇਹ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
Niṯ niṯ kā▫i▫ā majan kī▫ā niṯ mal mal ḏeh savāre.
He may constantly and continually wash his body; he may constantly rub, clean and polish his body.
