ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਦੇਵਈ ਕਿਆ ਚਲੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ
सो सहु सांति न देवई किआ चलै तिसु नालि ॥
So saho sāʼnṯ na ḏev▫ī ki▫ā cẖalai ṯis nāl.
My Husband Lord has not blessed me with peace and tranquility; what will work with Him?

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਖੀਐ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ
गुर परसादी हरि धिआईऐ अंतरि रखीऐ उर धारि ॥
Gur parsādī har ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai anṯar rakẖī▫ai ur ḏẖār.
By Guru's Grace, I meditate on the Lord; I enshrine Him deep within my heart.

ਨਾਨਕ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਠਿਆ ਸਹੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
नानक घरि बैठिआ सहु पाइआ जा किरपा कीती करतारि ॥१॥
Nānak gẖar baiṯẖi▫ā saho pā▫i▫ā jā kirpā kīṯī karṯār. ||1||
O Nanak, seated in his her own home, she finds her Husband Lord, when the Creator Lord grants His Grace. ||1||

Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਧੰਧਾ ਧਾਵਤ ਦਿਨੁ ਗਇਆ ਰੈਣਿ ਗਵਾਈ ਸੋਇ
धंधा धावत दिनु गइआ रैणि गवाई सोइ ॥
Ḏẖanḏẖā ḏẖāvaṯ ḏin ga▫i▫ā raiṇ gavā▫ī so▫e.
Chasing after worldly affairs, the day is wasted, and the night passes in sleep.

ਕੂੜੁ ਬੋਲਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਰੋਇ
कूड़ु बोलि बिखु खाइआ मनमुखि चलिआ रोइ ॥
Kūṛ bol bikẖ kẖā▫i▫ā manmukẖ cẖali▫ā ro▫e.
Speaking lies, one eats poison; the self-willed manmukh departs, crying out in pain.

ਸਿਰੈ ਉਪਰਿ ਜਮ ਡੰਡੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਇ
सिरै उपरि जम डंडु है दूजै भाइ पति खोइ ॥
Sirai upar jam dand hai ḏūjai bẖā▫e paṯ kẖo▫e.
The Messenger of Death holds his club over the mortal's head; in the love of duality, he loses his honor.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਦੇ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੋਇ
हरि नामु कदे न चेतिओ फिरि आवण जाणा होइ ॥
Har nām kaḏe na cẖeṯi▫o fir āvaṇ jāṇā ho▫e.
He never even thinks of the Name of the Lord; over and over again, he comes and goes in reincarnation.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਜਮ ਡੰਡੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਕੋਇ
गुर परसादी हरि मनि वसै जम डंडु न लागै कोइ ॥
Gur parsādī har man vasai jam dand na lāgai ko▫e.
But if, by Guru's Grace, the Lord's Name comes to dwell in his mind, then the Messenger of Death will not strike him down with his club.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
नानक सहजे मिलि रहै करमि परापति होइ ॥२॥
Nānak sėhje mil rahai karam parāpaṯ ho▫e. ||2||
Then, O Nanak, he merges intuitively into the Lord, receiving His Grace. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਇਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫਤੀ ਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਦੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਤੀ
इकि आपणी सिफती लाइअनु दे सतिगुर मती ॥
Ik āpṇī sifṯī lā▫i▫an ḏe saṯgur maṯī.
Some are linked to His Praises, when the Lord blesses them with the Guru's Teachings.

ਇਕਨਾ ਨੋ ਨਾਉ ਬਖਸਿਓਨੁ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਤੀ
इकना नो नाउ बखसिओनु असथिरु हरि सती ॥
Iknā no nā▫o bakẖsi▫on asthir har saṯī.
Some are blessed with the Name of the eternal, unchanging True Lord.

ਪਉਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੋ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਭਗਤੀ
पउणु पाणी बैसंतरो हुकमि करहि भगती ॥
Pa▫uṇ pāṇī baisanṯaro hukam karahi bẖagṯī.
Water, air and fire, by His Will, worship Him.

ਏਨਾ ਨੋ ਭਉ ਅਗਲਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਤੀ
एना नो भउ अगला पूरी बणत बणती ॥
Ėnā no bẖa▫o aglā pūrī baṇaṯ baṇṯī.
They are held in the Fear of God; He has formed the perfect form.

ਸਭੁ ਇਕੋ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥
सभु इको हुकमु वरतदा मंनिऐ सुखु पाई ॥३॥
Sabẖ iko hukam varaṯḏā mani▫ai sukẖ pā▫ī. ||3||
The Hukam, the Command of the One Lord is all-pervasive; accepting it, peace is found. ||3||

ਸਲੋਕੁ
सलोकु ॥
Salok.
Shalok:

ਕਬੀਰ ਕਸਉਟੀ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਝੂਠਾ ਟਿਕੈ ਕੋਇ
कबीर कसउटी राम की झूठा टिकै न कोइ ॥
Kabīr kasa▫utī rām kī jẖūṯẖā tikai na ko▫e.
Kabeer, such is the touchstone of the Lord; the false cannot even touch it.

ਰਾਮ ਕਸਉਟੀ ਸੋ ਸਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਰਜੀਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
राम कसउटी सो सहै जो मरजीवा होइ ॥१॥
Rām kasa▫utī so sahai jo marjīvā ho▫e. ||1||
He alone passes this test of the Lord, who remains dead while yet alive. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੀਐ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਮਿਰਤਕੁ ਹੋਇ
किउ करि इहु मनु मारीऐ किउ करि मिरतकु होइ ॥
Ki▫o kar ih man mārī▫ai ki▫o kar mirṯak ho▫e.
How can this mind be conquered? How can it be killed?

ਕਹਿਆ ਸਬਦੁ ਮਾਨਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਛਡੈ ਕੋਇ
कहिआ सबदु न मानई हउमै छडै न कोइ ॥
Kahi▫ā sabaḏ na mān▫ī ha▫umai cẖẖadai na ko▫e.
If one does not accept the Word of the Shabad, egotism does not depart.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਛੁਟੈ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ
गुर परसादी हउमै छुटै जीवन मुकतु सो होइ ॥
Gur parsādī ha▫umai cẖẖutai jīvan mukaṯ so ho▫e.
By Guru's Grace, egotism is eradicated, and then, one is Jivan Mukta - liberated while yet alive.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਬਖਸੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
नानक जिस नो बखसे तिसु मिलै तिसु बिघनु न लागै कोइ ॥२॥
Nānak jis no bakẖse ṯis milai ṯis bigẖan na lāgai ko▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, one whom the Lord forgives is united with Him, and then no obstacles block his way. ||2||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰਣਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਿਉ ਹੋਇ
जीवत मरणा सभु को कहै जीवन मुकति किउ होइ ॥
Jīvaṯ marṇā sabẖ ko kahai jīvan mukaṯ ki▫o ho▫e.
Everyone can say that they are dead while yet alive; how can they be liberated while yet alive?

ਭੈ ਕਾ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਜੇ ਕਰੇ ਦਾਰੂ ਭਾਉ ਲਾਏਇ
भै का संजमु जे करे दारू भाउ लाएइ ॥
Bẖai kā sanjam je kare ḏārū bẖā▫o lā▫e▫e.
If someone restrains himself through the Fear of God, and takes the medicine of the Love of God,

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਰੇਇ
अनदिनु गुण गावै सुख सहजे बिखु भवजलु नामि तरेइ ॥
An▫ḏin guṇ gāvai sukẖ sėhje bikẖ bẖavjal nām ṯare▫e.
night and day, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. In celestial peace and poise, he crosses over the poisonous, terrifying world-ocean, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੩॥
नानक गुरमुखि पाईऐ जा कउ नदरि करेइ ॥३॥
Nānak gurmukẖ pā▫ī▫ai jā ka▫o naḏar kare▫i. ||3||
O Nanak, the Gurmukh finds the Lord; he is blessed with His Glance of Grace. ||3||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਰਚਾਇਓਨੁ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ
दूजा भाउ रचाइओनु त्रै गुण वरतारा ॥
Ḏūjā bẖā▫o racẖā▫i▫on ṯarai guṇ varṯārā.
God created the love of duality, and the three modes which pervade the universe.

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸੁ ਉਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਕਮਾਵਨਿ ਕਾਰਾ
ब्रहमा बिसनु महेसु उपाइअनु हुकमि कमावनि कारा ॥
Barahmā bisan mahes upā▫i▫an hukam kamāvan kārā.
He created Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, who act according to His Will.

ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੜਦੇ ਜੋਤਕੀ ਨਾ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ
पंडित पड़दे जोतकी ना बूझहि बीचारा ॥
Pandiṯ paṛ▫ḏe joṯkī nā būjẖėh bīcẖārā.
The Pandits, the religious scholars, and the astrologers study their books, but they do not understand contemplation.

ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਹੈ ਸਚੁ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ
सभु किछु तेरा खेलु है सचु सिरजणहारा ॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ ṯerā kẖel hai sacẖ sirjaṇhārā.
Everything is Your play, O True Creator Lord.

ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਸਚਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੪॥
जिसु भावै तिसु बखसि लैहि सचि सबदि समाई ॥४॥
Jis bẖāvai ṯis bakẖas laihi sacẖ sabaḏ samā▫ī. ||4||
As it pleases You, You bless us with forgiveness, and merge us in the True Word of the Shabad. ||4||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ
सलोकु मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਮਨ ਕਾ ਝੂਠਾ ਝੂਠੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ
मन का झूठा झूठु कमावै ॥
Man kā jẖūṯẖā jẖūṯẖ kamāvai.
The man of false mind practices falsehood.

ਮਾਇਆ ਨੋ ਫਿਰੈ ਤਪਾ ਸਦਾਵੈ
माइआ नो फिरै तपा सदावै ॥
Mā▫i▫ā no firai ṯapā saḏāvai.
He runs after Maya, and yet pretends to be a man of disciplined meditation.

ਭਰਮੇ ਭੂਲਾ ਸਭਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਗਹੈ
भरमे भूला सभि तीरथ गहै ॥
Bẖarme bẖūlā sabẖ ṯirath gahai.
Deluded by doubt, he visits all the sacred shrines of pilgrimage.

ਓਹੁ ਤਪਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਲਹੈ
ओहु तपा कैसे परम गति लहै ॥
Oh ṯapā kaise param gaṯ lahai.
How can such a man of disciplined meditation attain the supreme status?

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਕੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ
गुर परसादी को सचु कमावै ॥
Gur parsādī ko sacẖ kamāvai.
By Guru's Grace, one lives the Truth.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਤਪਾ ਮੋਖੰਤਰੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
नानक सो तपा मोखंतरु पावै ॥१॥
Nānak so ṯapā mokẖanṯar pāvai. ||1||
O Nanak, such a man of disciplined meditation attains liberation. ||1||

ਮਃ

ਸੋ ਤਪਾ ਜਿ ਇਹੁ ਤਪੁ ਘਾਲੇ
सो तपा जि इहु तपु घाले ॥
So ṯapā jė ih ṯap gẖāle.
He alone is a man of disciplined meditation, who practices this self-discipline.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੋ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ
सतिगुर नो मिलै सबदु समाले ॥
Saṯgur no milai sabaḏ samāle.
Meeting with the True Guru, he contemplates the Word of the Shabad.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਇਹੁ ਤਪੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ
सतिगुर की सेवा इहु तपु परवाणु ॥
Saṯgur kī sevā ih ṯap parvāṇ.
Serving the True Guru - this is the only acceptable disciplined meditation.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਤਪਾ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਣੁ ॥੨॥
नानक सो तपा दरगहि पावै माणु ॥२॥
Nānak so ṯapā ḏargahi pāvai māṇ. ||2||
O Nanak, such a man of disciplined meditation is honored in the Court of the Lord. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਉਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕੀ ਵਰਤਣਿ
राति दिनसु उपाइअनु संसार की वरतणि ॥
Rāṯ ḏinas upā▫i▫an sansār kī varṯaṇ.
He created the night and the day, for the activities of the world.
