ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੇਵਸਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥
जिनि नामु दीआ तिसु सेवसा तिसु बलिहारै जाउ ॥
Jin nām ḏī▫ā ṯis sevsā ṯis balihārai jā▫o.
I serve him, who has blessed me with the Name and I am a sacrifice onto him.

ਜੋ ਉਸਾਰੇ ਸੋ ਢਾਹਸੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
जो उसारे सो ढाहसी तिसु बिनु अवरु न कोइ ॥
Jo usāre so dẖāhsī ṯis bin avar na ko▫e.
He, who build all, demolishes as well, Without Him, there is not another.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਲਾ ਤਾ ਤਨਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੩੧॥
गुर परसादी तिसु सम्हला ता तनि दूखु न होइ ॥३१॥
Gur parsādī ṯis sammĥlā ṯā ṯan ḏūkẖ na ho▫e. ||31||
If I remember Him by the Guru's grace, then my body shall suffer no pain.
|
ਣਾ ਕੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਿਸੁ ਗਹੀ ਣਾ ਕੋ ਹੋਆ ਨ ਹੋਗੁ ॥
णा को मेरा किसु गही णा को होआ न होगु ॥
Ņā ko merā kis gahī ṇā ko ho▫ā na hog.
No one is mine, whose skirt should I hold? None was and none shall ever be mine.

ਆਵਣਿ ਜਾਣਿ ਵਿਗੁਚੀਐ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਰੋਗੁ ॥
आवणि जाणि विगुचीऐ दुबिधा विआपै रोगु ॥
Āvaṇ jāṇ vigucẖī▫ai ḏubiḏẖā vi▫āpai rog.
Man is ruined in coming and going and is inflicted with the disease of duality.
|
ਣਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਕਲਰ ਕੰਧ ਗਿਰੰਤਿ ॥
णाम विहूणे आदमी कलर कंध गिरंति ॥
Ņām vihūṇe āḏmī kalar kanḏẖ giranṯ.
The men, bereft of the Name, fall like the saline wall.
|
ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕਿਉ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਜਾਇ ਰਸਾਤਲਿ ਅੰਤਿ ॥
विणु नावै किउ छूटीऐ जाइ रसातलि अंति ॥
viṇ nāvai ki▫o cẖẖūtī▫ai jā▫e rasāṯal anṯ.
Without the Name, how can one by realised? The wise one falls into hell in the end.

ਗਣਤ ਗਣਾਵੈ ਅਖਰੀ ਅਗਣਤੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥
गणत गणावै अखरी अगणतु साचा सोइ ॥
Gaṇaṯ gaṇāvai akẖrī agṇaṯ sācẖā so▫e.
One describes the Infinite True Lord, with the limited number of words.

ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਮਤਿਹੀਣੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
अगिआनी मतिहीणु है गुर बिनु गिआनु न होइ ॥
Agi▫ānī maṯihīṇ hai gur bin gi▫ān na ho▫e.
The ignorant one is without understanding. Without understanding, Without the Guru's Divine comprehension can be gathered not.

ਤੂਟੀ ਤੰਤੁ ਰਬਾਬ ਕੀ ਵਾਜੈ ਨਹੀ ਵਿਜੋਗਿ ॥
तूटी तंतु रबाब की वाजै नही विजोगि ॥
Ŧūtī ṯanṯ rabāb kī vājai nahī vijog.
The separated soul is life the broken chord of a rebeck which sounds not in separation.

ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਮੇਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥੩੨॥
विछुड़िआ मेलै प्रभू नानक करि संजोग ॥३२॥
vicẖẖuṛi▫ā melai parabẖū Nānak kar sanjog. ||32||
Awakening their destiny, the Lord unites the separated souls with Himself, O Nanak.
|
ਤਰਵਰੁ ਕਾਇਆ ਪੰਖਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਰਵਰਿ ਪੰਖੀ ਪੰਚ ॥
तरवरु काइआ पंखि मनु तरवरि पंखी पंच ॥
Ŧarvar kā▫i▫ā pankẖ man ṯarvar pankẖī pancẖ.
The body is the tree and soul the sublime bird,
|
ਤਤੁ ਚੁਗਹਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਏਕਸੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਫਾਸ ਨ ਰੰਚ ॥
ततु चुगहि मिलि एकसे तिन कउ फास न रंच ॥
Ŧaṯ cẖugėh mil ekse ṯin ka▫o fās na rancẖ.
which peck the quintessence, unite with the One Lord and they are not trapped in the least.
|
ਉਡਹਿ ਤ ਬੇਗੁਲ ਬੇਗੁਲੇ ਤਾਕਹਿ ਚੋਗ ਘਣੀ ॥
उडहि त बेगुल बेगुले ताकहि चोग घणी ॥
Uḏėh ṯa begul begule ṯakėh cẖog gẖaṇī.
Seeing the plenty of sins, feed, the birds, that hurriedly and swiftly, fly away;
|
ਪੰਖ ਤੁਟੇ ਫਾਹੀ ਪੜੀ ਅਵਗੁਣਿ ਭੀੜ ਬਣੀ ॥
पंख तुटे फाही पड़ी अवगुणि भीड़ बणी ॥
Pankẖ ṯute fāhī paṛī avguṇ bẖīṛ baṇī.
Their feathers are clipped, they are caught in the noose and they are involved in calamity through their misdeeds.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਚੇ ਕਿਉ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਕਰਮਿ ਮਣੀ ॥
बिनु साचे किउ छूटीऐ हरि गुण करमि मणी ॥
Bin sācẖe ki▫o cẖẖūtī▫ai har guṇ karam maṇī.
Without the True Lord, how can one be released? The jewel of God's praise is attained to, through His grace alone.

ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਏ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਵਡਾ ਆਪਿ ਧਣੀ ॥
आपि छडाए छूटीऐ वडा आपि धणी ॥
Āp cẖẖadā▫e cẖẖūtī▫ai vadā āp ḏẖaṇī.
If He Himself liberates, then alone one is liberated, He Himself is our great Master.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
गुर परसादी छूटीऐ किरपा आपि करेइ ॥
Gur parsādī cẖẖūtī▫ai kirpā āp kare▫i.
When the Lord Himself shows mercy, one is emancipated by Guru's grace.
|
ਅਪਣੈ ਹਾਥਿ ਵਡਾਈਆ ਜੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈ ਦੇਇ ॥੩੩॥
अपणै हाथि वडाईआ जै भावै तै देइ ॥३३॥
Apṇai hāth vadā▫ī▫ā jai bẖāvai ṯai ḏe▫e. ||33||
The glories are in the Lord's own hand. He blesses with them the mortal, with whom He is pleased
|
ਥਰ ਥਰ ਕੰਪੈ ਜੀਅੜਾ ਥਾਨ ਵਿਹੂਣਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
थर थर क्मपै जीअड़ा थान विहूणा होइ ॥
Thar thar kampai jī▫aṛā thān vihūṇā ho▫e.
Without its moorings, the soul violently trembles and reels.
|
ਥਾਨਿ ਮਾਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਕਾਜੁ ਨ ਫੀਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
थानि मानि सचु एकु है काजु न फीटै कोइ ॥
Thān mān sacẖ ek hai kāj na fītai ko▫e.
Only the True Lord's refuge is glory-giving BY seeking it, no work of the mortal is spoiled.
|
ਥਿਰੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਥਿਰੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
थिरु नाराइणु थिरु गुरू थिरु साचा बीचारु ॥
Thir nārā▫iṇ thir gurū thir sācẖā bīcẖār.
Ever-stable is God, ever-stable is the Guru and ever-stable is the True Lord's meditation.
|
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਨਾਥਹ ਨਾਥੁ ਤੂ ਨਿਧਾਰਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
सुरि नर नाथह नाथु तू निधारा आधारु ॥
Sur nar nāthah nāth ṯū niḏẖārā āḏẖār.
O Lord of gods, men and Yogis Thou alone art the support of the supportless.
|
ਸਰਬੇ ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰੀ ਤੂ ਦਾਤਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥
सरबे थान थनंतरी तू दाता दातारु ॥
Sarbe thān thananṯarī ṯū ḏāṯā ḏāṯār.
Thou, O Lord, art pervading all places and inter-spaces, Thou alone art the Giver and Donor.
|
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਏਕੁ ਤੂ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥
जह देखा तह एकु तू अंतु न पारावारु ॥
Jah ḏekẖā ṯah ek ṯū anṯ na pārāvār.
Wherever I see, there I see Thee alone, O Lord Thou has no limit and end.
|
ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
थान थनंतरि रवि रहिआ गुर सबदी वीचारि ॥
Thān thananṯar rav rahi▫ā gur sabḏī vīcẖār.
Thou art contained in places and inter-spaces, By Guru's instruction Thou art reflected upon.

ਅਣਮੰਗਿਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵਸੀ ਵਡਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥੩੪॥
अणमंगिआ दानु देवसी वडा अगम अपारु ॥३४॥
Aṇmangi▫ā ḏān ḏevsī vadā agam apār. ||34||
The great, Unfathomable and Infinite Lord gives gifts without asking.
|
ਦਇਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਤੂ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
दइआ दानु दइआलु तू करि करि देखणहारु ॥
Ḏa▫i▫ā ḏān ḏa▫i▫āl ṯū kar kar ḏekẖaṇhār.
My Merciful Master, Thou art the embodiment of compassion and charity. Creating the creation, Thou beholdest it.
|
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਢਾਹਿ ਉਸਾਰਿ ॥
दइआ करहि प्रभ मेलि लैहि खिन महि ढाहि उसारि ॥
Ḏa▫i▫ā karahi parabẖ mel laihi kẖin mėh dẖāhi usār.
O Lord, extending Thy mercy, Thou unitest men with Thee. Thou buildest and destroyest, in an instant.
|
ਦਾਨਾ ਤੂ ਬੀਨਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਦਾਨਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
दाना तू बीना तुही दाना कै सिरि दानु ॥
Ḏānā ṯū bīnā ṯuhī ḏānā kai sir ḏān.
Thou art all-wise and Thou art all-seeing Of all the givers Thou art the most supreme Giver.
|
ਦਾਲਦ ਭੰਜਨ ਦੁਖ ਦਲਣ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥੩੫॥
दालद भंजन दुख दलण गुरमुखि गिआनु धिआनु ॥३५॥
Ḏālaḏ bẖanjan ḏukẖ ḏalaṇ gurmukẖ gi▫ān ḏẖi▫ān. ||35||
God is the Eradicator of poverty and the Destroyer of pain. The Exalted Guru, blesses man with Divine knowledge and meditation.
|
ਧਨਿ ਗਇਐ ਬਹਿ ਝੂਰੀਐ ਧਨ ਮਹਿ ਚੀਤੁ ਗਵਾਰ ॥
धनि गइऐ बहि झूरीऐ धन महि चीतु गवार ॥
Ḏẖan ga▫i▫ai bahi jẖūrī▫ai ḏẖan mėh cẖīṯ gavār.
Losing wealth, the mortal greatly grieves. The mind of the fool is engrossed. in riches.
|
ਧਨੁ ਵਿਰਲੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
धनु विरली सचु संचिआ निरमलु नामु पिआरि ॥
Ḏẖan virlī sacẖ sancẖi▫ā nirmal nām pi▫ār.
A few amass the wealth of truth and love the Immaculate Name.
|
ਧਨੁ ਗਇਆ ਤਾ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਹਿ ਜੇ ਰਾਚਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਏਕ ॥
धनु गइआ ता जाण देहि जे राचहि रंगि एक ॥
Ḏẖan ga▫i▫ā ṯā jāṇ ḏėh je rācẖėh rang ek.
If by losing wealth, thou can be absorbed in the love of the One Lord, let it go then.
|
ਮਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਸਿਰੁ ਸਉਪੀਐ ਭੀ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ॥
मनु दीजै सिरु सउपीऐ भी करते की टेक ॥
Man ḏījai sir sa▫upī▫ai bẖī karṯe kī tek.
Deliver thou thy soul and also surrender thy head to thy Lord and seek thou only thy Creator's support.
|
ਧੰਧਾ ਧਾਵਤ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਨੰਦੁ ॥
धंधा धावत रहि गए मन महि सबदु अनंदु ॥
Ḏẖanḏẖā ḏẖāvaṯ rėh ga▫e man mėh sabaḏ anand.
The worldly affairs and wanderings come to an end, when the Name's bliss enters into the man's mind.
|
ਦੁਰਜਨ ਤੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਭਏ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥
दुरजन ते साजन भए भेटे गुर गोविंद ॥
Ḏurjan ṯe sājan bẖa▫e bẖete gur govinḏ.
Meeting with the Guru-God. even the enemies become friends.
|
ਬਨੁ ਬਨੁ ਫਿਰਤੀ ਢੂਢਤੀ ਬਸਤੁ ਰਹੀ ਘਰਿ ਬਾਰਿ ॥
बनु बनु फिरती ढूढती बसतु रही घरि बारि ॥
Ban ban firṯī dẖūdẖ▫ṯī basaṯ rahī gẖar bār.
The things thou wanderest for, searching forest to forest, abides within thy very home.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥੩੬॥
सतिगुरि मेली मिलि रही जनम मरण दुखु निवारि ॥३६॥
Saṯgur melī mil rahī janam maraṇ ḏukẖ nivār. ||36||
United by the True Guru, thou shalt remain blended with the Lord and thy pain of birth and death shall end.
|
ਨਾਨਾ ਕਰਤ ਨ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਵਿਣੁ ਗੁਣ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
नाना करत न छूटीऐ विणु गुण जम पुरि जाहि ॥
Nānā karaṯ na cẖẖūtī▫ai viṇ guṇ jam pur jāhi.
Performing various rituals, one is released not. Without virtue, he goes to the city of death.
|
ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਏਹੁ ਨ ਓਹੁ ਹੈ ਅਵਗੁਣਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਹਿ ॥
ना तिसु एहु न ओहु है अवगुणि फिरि पछुताहि ॥
Nā ṯis ehu na oh hai avguṇ fir pacẖẖuṯāhi.
Committing sins, one grieves in the end and loses this world as also the yonder one,
