ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਜਿ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਲਈ ਰਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
Saṯgur purakẖ jė boli▫ā gursikẖā man la▫ī rajā▫e jī▫o.
And as the True Guru, the Primal Lord spoke, and the GurSikhs obeyed His Will.

ਮੋਹਰੀ ਪੁਤੁ ਸਨਮੁਖੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਾਮਦਾਸੈ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
Mohrī puṯ sanmukẖ ho▫i▫ā Rāmḏāsai pairī pā▫e jī▫o.
His son Mohri turned sunmukh, and become obedient to Him; he bowed, and touched Ram Das' feet.

ਸਭ ਪਵੈ ਪੈਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਰੀ ਜਿਥੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਆਪੁ ਰਖਿਆ ॥
Sabẖ pavai pairī saṯgurū kerī jithai gurū āp rakẖi▫ā.
Then, everyone bowed and touched the feet of Ram Das, into whom the Guru infused His essence.

ਕੋਈ ਕਰਿ ਬਖੀਲੀ ਨਿਵੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਣਿ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ॥
Ko▫ī kar bakẖīlī nivai nāhī fir saṯgurū āṇ nivā▫i▫ā.
And any that did not bow then because of envy - later, the True Guru brought them around to bow in humility.

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਭਾਣਾ ਦੀਈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲੇਖੁ ਰਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
Har gurėh bẖāṇā ḏī▫ī vadi▫ā▫ī ḏẖur likẖi▫ā lekẖ rajā▫e jī▫o.
It pleased the Guru, the Lord, to bestow glorious greatness upon Him; such was the pre-ordained destiny of the Lord's Will.

ਕਹੈ ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੬॥੧॥
Kahai sunḏar suṇhu sanṯahu sabẖ jagaṯ pairī pā▫e jī▫o. ||6||1||
Says Sundar, listen, O Saints: all the world fell at His feet. ||6||1||

ਸਾਜਨੜਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਜਨੜਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਖਲੋਇਅੜਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਜਨੜਾ ॥
Sājanṛā merā sājanṛā nikat kẖalo▫i▫aṛā merā sājanṛā.
Friend, my Friend - standing so near to me is my Friend!

ਜਾਨੀਅੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨੀਅੜਾ ਨੈਣ ਅਲੋਇਅੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨੀਅੜਾ ॥
Jānī▫aṛā har jānī▫aṛā naiṇ alo▫i▫aṛā har jānī▫aṛā.
Beloved, the Lord my Beloved - with my eyes, I have seen the Lord, my Beloved!

ਨੈਣ ਅਲੋਇਆ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸੋਇਆ ਅਤਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਗੂੜਾ ॥
Naiṇ alo▫i▫ā gẖat gẖat so▫i▫ā aṯ amriṯ pari▫a gūṛā.
With my eyes I have seen Him, sleeping upon the bed within each and every heart; my Beloved is the sweetest ambrosial nectar.

ਨਾਲਿ ਹੋਵੰਦਾ ਲਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੰਦਾ ਸੁਆਉ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਮੂੜਾ ॥
Nāl hovanḏā lėh na sakanḏā su▫ā▫o na jāṇai mūṛā.
He is with all, but he cannot be found; the fool does not know His taste.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮਦਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੋਛੀ ਬਾਤਾ ਮਿਲਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਭਰਮ ਧੜਾ ॥
Mā▫i▫ā maḏ māṯā hocẖẖī bāṯā milaṇ na jā▫ī bẖaram ḏẖaṛā.
Intoxicated with the wine of Maya, the mortal babbles on about trivial affairs; giving in to the illusion, he cannot meet the Lord.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੂਝੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਖੜਾ ॥੧॥
Kaho Nānak gur bin nāhī sūjẖai har sājan sabẖ kai nikat kẖaṛā. ||1||
Says Nanak, without the Guru, he cannot understand the Lord, the Friend who is standing near everyone. ||1||

ਗੋਬਿੰਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦਾ ॥
Gobinḏā mere gobinḏā parāṇ aḏẖārā mere gobinḏā.
God, my God - the Support of the breath of life is my God.

ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ਦਾਨ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥
Kirpālā mere kirpālā ḏān ḏāṯārā mere kirpālā.
Merciful Lord, my Merciful Lord - the Giver of gifts is my Merciful Lord.

ਦਾਨ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰਾ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋਹਨਿਆ ॥
Ḏān ḏāṯārā apar apārā gẖat gẖat anṯar sohni▫ā.
The Giver of gifts is infinite and unlimited; deep within each and every heart, He is so beautiful!

ਇਕ ਦਾਸੀ ਧਾਰੀ ਸਬਲ ਪਸਾਰੀ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਲੈ ਮੋਹਨਿਆ ॥
Ik ḏāsī ḏẖārī sabal pasārī jī▫a janṯ lai mohni▫ā.
He created Maya, His slave, so powerfully pervasive - she has enticed all beings and creatures.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਭਾਖੈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
Jis no rākẖai so sacẖ bẖākẖai gur kā sabaḏ bīcẖārā.
One whom the Lord saves, chants the True Name, and contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਭਾਣਾ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥੨॥
Kaho Nānak jo parabẖ ka▫o bẖāṇā ṯis hī ka▫o parabẖ pi▫ārā. ||2||
Says Nanak, one who is pleasing to God - God is very dear to him. ||2||

ਮਾਣੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਣੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਮਾਣੋ ॥
Māṇo parabẖ māṇo mere parabẖ kā māṇo.
I take pride, I take pride in God; I take pride in my God.
|
ਜਾਣੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੋ ॥
Jāṇo parabẖ jāṇo su▫āmī sugẖaṛ sujāṇo.
Wise, God is wise; my Lord and Master is all-wise, and all-knowing.

ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਨਾ ਸਦ ਪਰਧਾਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
Sugẖaṛ sujānā saḏ parḏẖānā amriṯ har kā nāmā.
All-wise and all-knowing, and forever supreme; the Name of the Lord is Ambrosial Nectar.

ਚਾਖਿ ਅਘਾਣੇ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਣੇ ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਭਾਗ ਮਥਾਨਾ ॥
Cẖākẖ agẖāṇe sārigpāṇe jin kai bẖāg mathānā.
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny recorded upon their foreheads, taste it, and are satisfied with the Lord of the Universe.

ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਸਗਲ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਮਾਣੋ ॥
Ŧin hī pā▫i▫ā ṯinėh ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā sagal ṯisai kā māṇo.
They meditate on Him, and find Him; they place all their pride in Him.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਥਿਰੁ ਤਖਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਸਚੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਦੀਬਾਣੋ ॥੩॥
Kaho Nānak thir ṯakẖaṯ nivāsī sacẖ ṯisai ḏībāṇo. ||3||
Says Nanak, He is seated on His eternal throne; True is His royal court. ||3||

ਮੰਗਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਗਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਮੰਗਲਾ ॥
Manglā har manglā mere parabẖ kai suṇī▫ai manglā.
The song of joy, the Lord's song of joy; listen to the song of joy of my God.

ਸੋਹਿਲੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੋਹਿਲੜਾ ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨੀਐ ਸੋਹਿਲੜਾ ॥
Sohilṛā parabẖ sohilṛā anhaḏ ḏẖunī▫ai sohilṛā.
The wedding song, God's wedding song; the unstruck sound current of His wedding song resounds.
|
ਅਨਹਦ ਵਾਜੇ ਸਬਦ ਅਗਾਜੇ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਵਧਾਈ ॥
Anhaḏ vāje sabaḏ agāje niṯ niṯ jisahi vaḏẖā▫ī.
The unstruck sound current vibrates, and the Word of the Shabad resounds; there is continuous, continual rejoicing.

ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਈ ॥
So parabẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai sabẖ kicẖẖ pā▫ī▫ai marai na āvai jā▫ī.
Meditating on that God, everything is obtained; He does not die, or come or go.

ਚੂਕੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੁ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੀਐ ॥
Cẖūkī pi▫āsā pūran āsā gurmukẖ mil nirgunī▫ai.
Thirst is quenched, and hopes are fulfilled; the Gurmukh meets with the absolute, unmanifest Lord.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਘਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੈ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਸੁਨੀਐ ॥੪॥੧॥
Kaho Nānak gẖar parabẖ mere kai niṯ niṯ mangal sunī▫ai. ||4||1||
Says Nanak, in the Home of my God, the songs of joy are continuously, continually heard. ||4||1||
