ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਧੁਨਿ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰਾ ॥
Sahj samāḏẖ ḏẖun gahir gambẖīrā.
he is intuitively in Samaadhi, profound and unfathomable.
|
ਸਦਾ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾਮ ॥
Saḏā mukaṯ ṯā ke pūre kām.
He is liberated forever and all his affairs are perfectly resolved;
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥੨॥
Jā kai riḏai vasai har nām. ||2||
the Lord's Name abides within his heart. ||2||
|
ਸਗਲ ਸੂਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਅਰੋਗ ॥
Sagal sūkẖ ānanḏ arog.
He is totally peaceful, blissful and healthy;
|
ਸਮਦਰਸੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਿਰਜੋਗ ॥
Samaḏrasī pūran nirjog.
he looks upon all impartially, and is perfectly detached.
|
ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਡੋਲੈ ਕਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
Ā▫e na jā▫e dolai kaṯ nāhī.
He does not come and go, and he never wavers;
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੩॥
Jā kai nām basai man māhī. ||3||
the Naam abides in his mind. ||3||
|
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋੁਪਾਲ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥
Ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl gopāl govinḏ.
God is Merciful to the meek; He is the Lord of the World, the Lord of the Universe.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਉਤਰੈ ਚਿੰਦ ॥
Gurmukẖ japī▫ai uṯrai cẖinḏ.
The Gurmukh meditates on Him, and his worries are gone.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
Nānak ka▫o gur ḏī▫ā nām.
The Guru has blessed Nanak with the Naam;
|
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੬॥
Sanṯan kī tahal sanṯ kā kām. ||4||15||26||
he serves the Saints, and works for the Saints. ||4||15||26||

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:

ਬੀਜ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਉ ॥
Bīj manṯar har kīrṯan gā▫o.
Sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, and the Beej Mantra, the Seed Mantra.

ਆਗੈ ਮਿਲੀ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥
Āgai milī nithāve thā▫o.
Even the homeless find a home in the world hereafter.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥
Gur pūre kī cẖarṇī lāg.
Fall at the feet of the Perfect Guru;
|
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਜਾਗੁ ॥੧॥
Janam janam kā so▫i▫ā jāg. ||1||
you have slept for so many incarnations - wake up! ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪਲਾ ॥
Har har jāp japlā.
Chant the Chant of the Lord's Name, Har, Har.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਾਸੈ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gur kirpā ṯe hirḏai vāsai bẖa▫ojal pār parlā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By Guru's Grace, it shall be enshrined within your heart, and you shall cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਮਨ ਅਟਲ ॥
Nām niḏẖān ḏẖi▫ā▫e man atal.
Meditate on the eternal treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O mind,
|
ਤਾ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਪਟਲ ॥
Ŧā cẖẖūtėh mā▫i▫ā ke patal.
and then, the screen of Maya shall be torn away.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਉ ॥
Gur kā sabaḏ amriṯ ras pī▫o.
Drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Guru's Shabad,
|
ਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Ŧā ṯerā ho▫e nirmal jī▫o. ||2||
and then your soul shall be rendered immaculate and pure. ||2||

ਸੋਧਤ ਸੋਧਤ ਸੋਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
Soḏẖaṯ soḏẖaṯ soḏẖ bīcẖārā.
Searching, searching, searching, I have realized
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ॥
Bin har bẖagaṯ nahī cẖẖutkārā.
that without devotional worship of the Lord, no one is saved.
|
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
So har bẖajan sāḏẖ kai sang.
So vibrate, and meditate on that Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy;
|
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੩॥
Man ṯan rāpai har kai rang. ||3||
your mind and body shall be imbued with love for the Lord. ||3||
|
ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਬਹੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥
Cẖẖod si▫āṇap baho cẖaṯurā▫ī.
Renounce all your cleverness and trickery.
|
ਮਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥
Man bin har nāvai jā▫e na kā▫ī.
O mind, without the Lord's Name, there is no place of rest.
|
ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਗੋੁਸਾਈ ॥
Ḏa▫i▫ā ḏẖārī goviḏ gosā▫ī.
The Lord of the Universe, the Lord of the World, has taken pity on me.
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ਟਿਕਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੭॥
Har har Nānak tek tikā▫ī. ||4||16||27||
Nanak seeks the protection and support of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||16||27||

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:

ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗ ਕੇਲ ॥
Sanṯ kai sang rām rang kel.
In the Saints' Congregation, play joyfully with the Lord,
|
ਆਗੈ ਜਮ ਸਿਉ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਲ ॥
Āgai jam si▫o ho▫e na mel.
and you will not have to meet the Messenger of Death hereafter.
|
ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਕਾ ਭਇਆ ਬਿਨਾਸ ॥
Ahaʼn▫buḏẖ kā bẖa▫i▫ā binās.
Your egotistical intellect shall be dispelled,
|
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਹੋਈ ਸਗਲੀ ਨਾਸ ॥੧॥
Ḏurmaṯ ho▫ī saglī nās. ||1||
and your evil-mindedness will be totally taken away. ||1||
|
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ॥
Rām nām guṇ gā▫e pandiṯ.
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord's Name, O Pandit.
|
ਕਰਮ ਕਾਂਡ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਨ ਕਾਜੈ ਕੁਸਲ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Karam kāʼnd ahaʼnkār na kājai kusal seṯī gẖar jāhi pandiṯ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Religious rituals and egotism are of no use at all. You shall go home with happiness, O Pandit. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਨਿਧਿ ਲੀਆ ਲਾਭ ॥
Har kā jas niḏẖ lī▫ā lābẖ.
I have earned the profit, the wealth of the Lord's praise.
|
ਪੂਰਨ ਭਏ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਾਭ ॥
Pūran bẖa▫e manorath sābẖ.
All my hopes have been fulfilled.
|
ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਠਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
Ḏukẖ nāṯẖā sukẖ gẖar mėh ā▫i▫ā.
Pain has left me, and peace has come to my home.
|
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
Sanṯ parsāḏ kamal bigsā▫i▫ā. ||2||
By the Grace of the Saints, my heart-lotus blossoms forth. ||2||
|
ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
Nām raṯan jin pā▫i▫ā ḏān.
One who is blessed with the gift of the jewel of the Name,
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਹੋਏ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
Ŧis jan ho▫e sagal niḏẖān.
obtains all treasures.
|
ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਆਇਆ ਮਨਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇ ॥
Sanṯokẖ ā▫i▫ā man pūrā pā▫e.
His mind becomes content, finding the Perfect Lord.
|
ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਾਗਨ ਕਾਹੇ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
Fir fir māgan kāhe jā▫e. ||3||
Why should he ever go begging again? ||3||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਤ ਪਵਿਤ ॥
Har kī kathā sunaṯ paviṯ.
Hearing the Lord's sermon, he becomes pure and holy.
|
ਜਿਹਵਾ ਬਕਤ ਪਾਈ ਗਤਿ ਮਤਿ ॥
Jihvā bakaṯ pā▫ī gaṯ maṯ.
Chanting it with his tongue, he finds the way to salvation.
|
ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਾਈ ॥
So parvāṇ jis riḏai vasā▫ī.
He alone is approved, who enshrines the Lord within his heart.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਊਤਮ ਭਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੨੮॥
Nānak ṯe jan ūṯam bẖā▫ī. ||4||17||28||
Nanak: such a humble being is exalted, O Siblings of Destiny. ||4||17||28||

ਗਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਪਕਰੀ ਨ ਆਈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
Gahu kar pakrī na ā▫ī hāth.
No matter how hard you try to grab it, it does not come into your hands.
|
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਚਾਲੀ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਥਿ ॥
Parīṯ karī cẖālī nahī sāth.
No matter how much you may love it, it does not go along with you.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਉ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਦਈ ॥
Kaho Nānak ja▫o ṯi▫āg ḏa▫ī.
Says Nanak, when you abandon it,
|
ਤਬ ਓਹ ਚਰਣੀ ਆਇ ਪਈ ॥੧॥
Ŧab oh cẖarṇī ā▫e pa▫ī. ||1||
then it comes and falls at your feet. ||1||
|
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥
Suṇ sanṯahu nirmal bīcẖār.
Listen, O Saints: this is the pure philosophy.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਈ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Rām nām bin gaṯ nahī kā▫ī gur pūrā bẖetaṯ uḏẖār. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Without the Lord's Name, there is no salvation. Meeting with the Perfect Guru, one is saved. ||1||Pause||
