ਛਿਅ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥
छिअ दरसन की सोझी पाइ ॥४॥५॥
Cẖẖi▫a ḏarsan kī sojẖī pā▫e. ||4||5||
has the wisdom of the six Shaastras. ||4||5||

Rāmkalī mėhlā 1.
Raamkalee, First Mehl:

ਹਮ ਡੋਲਤ ਬੇੜੀ ਪਾਪ ਭਰੀ ਹੈ ਪਵਣੁ ਲਗੈ ਮਤੁ ਜਾਈ
हम डोलत बेड़ी पाप भरी है पवणु लगै मतु जाई ॥
Ham dolaṯ beṛī pāp bẖarī hai pavaṇ lagai maṯ jā▫ī.
My boat is wobbly and unsteady; it is filled with sins. The wind is rising - what if it tips over?

ਸਨਮੁਖ ਸਿਧ ਭੇਟਣ ਕਉ ਆਏ ਨਿਹਚਉ ਦੇਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੧॥
सनमुख सिध भेटण कउ आए निहचउ देहि वडिआई ॥१॥
Sanmukẖ siḏẖ bẖetaṇ ka▫o ā▫e nihcẖa▫o ḏėh vadi▫ā▫ī. ||1||
As sunmukh, I have turned to the Guru; O my Perfect Master; please be sure to bless me with Your glorious greatness. ||1||

ਗੁਰ ਤਾਰਿ ਤਾਰਣਹਾਰਿਆ
गुर तारि तारणहारिआ ॥
Gur ṯār ṯāraṇhāri▫ā.
O Guru, my Saving Grace, please carry me across the world-ocean.

ਦੇਹਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਵਿਨਾਸੀ ਹਉ ਤੁਝ ਕਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
देहि भगति पूरन अविनासी हउ तुझ कउ बलिहारिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḏėh bẖagaṯ pūran avināsī ha▫o ṯujẖ ka▫o balihāri▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Bless me with devotion to the perfect, imperishable Lord God; I am a sacrifice to You. ||1||Pause||

ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਅਰੁ ਜੰਗਮ ਏਕੁ ਸਿਧੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ
सिध साधिक जोगी अरु जंगम एकु सिधु जिनी धिआइआ ॥
Siḏẖ sāḏẖik jogī ar jangam ek siḏẖ jinī ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā.
He alone is a Siddha, a seeker, a Yogi, a wandering pilgrim, who meditates on the One Perfect Lord.

ਪਰਸਤ ਪੈਰ ਸਿਝਤ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਖਰੁ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
परसत पैर सिझत ते सुआमी अखरु जिन कउ आइआ ॥२॥
Parsaṯ pair sijẖaṯ ṯe su▫āmī akẖar jin ka▫o ā▫i▫ā. ||2||
Touching the feet of the Lord Master, they are emancipated; they come to receive the Word of the Teachings. ||2||

ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਕਰਮ ਜਾਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ
जप तप संजम करम न जाना नामु जपी प्रभ तेरा ॥
Jap ṯap sanjam karam na jānā nām japī parabẖ ṯerā.
I know nothing of charity, meditation, self-discipline or religious rituals; I only chant Your Name, God.

ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥੩॥੬॥
गुरु परमेसरु नानक भेटिओ साचै सबदि निबेरा ॥३॥६॥
Gur parmesar Nānak bẖeti▫o sācẖai sabaḏ niberā. ||3||6||
Nanak has met the Guru, the Transcendent Lord God; through the True Word of His Shabad, he is set free. ||3||6||

ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ
रामकली महला १ ॥
Rāmkalī mėhlā 1.
Raamkalee, First Mehl:

ਸੁਰਤੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਰਲਾਈਐ ਏਤੁ
सुरती सुरति रलाईऐ एतु ॥
Surṯī suraṯ ralā▫ī▫ai eṯ.
Focus your consciousness in deep absorption on the Lord.

ਤਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਲੰਘਹਿ ਜੇਤੁ
तनु करि तुलहा लंघहि जेतु ॥
Ŧan kar ṯulhā langẖėh jeṯ.
Make your body a raft, to cross over.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭਾਹਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਤੂ ਰਖੁ
अंतरि भाहि तिसै तू रखु ॥
Anṯar bẖāhi ṯisai ṯū rakẖ.
Deep within is the fire of desire; keep it in check.

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਦੀਵਾ ਬਲੈ ਅਥਕੁ ॥੧॥
अहिनिसि दीवा बलै अथकु ॥१॥
Ahinis ḏīvā balai athak. ||1||
Day and night, that lamp shall burn unceasingly. ||1||

ਐਸਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਨੀਰਿ ਤਰਾਇ
ऐसा दीवा नीरि तराइ ॥
Aisā ḏīvā nīr ṯarā▫e.
Float such a lamp upon the water;

ਜਿਤੁ ਦੀਵੈ ਸਭ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जितु दीवै सभ सोझी पाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jiṯ ḏīvai sabẖ sojẖī pā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
this lamp will bring total understanding. ||1||Pause||

ਹਛੀ ਮਿਟੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਇ
हछी मिटी सोझी होइ ॥
Hacẖẖī mitī sojẖī ho▫e.
This understanding is good clay;

ਤਾ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਮਾਨੈ ਸੋਇ
ता का कीआ मानै सोइ ॥
Ŧā kā kī▫ā mānai so▫e.
a lamp made of such clay is acceptable to the Lord.

ਕਰਣੀ ਤੇ ਕਰਿ ਚਕਹੁ ਢਾਲਿ
करणी ते करि चकहु ढालि ॥
Karṇī ṯe kar cẖakahu dẖāl.
So shape this lamp on the wheel of good actions.

ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਨਿਬਹੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੨॥
ऐथै ओथै निबही नालि ॥२॥
Aithai othai nibhī nāl. ||2||
In this world and in the next, this lamp shall be with you. ||2||

ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਾ ਸੋਇ
आपे नदरि करे जा सोइ ॥
Āpe naḏar kare jā so▫e.
When He Himself grants His Grace,

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਇ
गुरमुखि विरला बूझै कोइ ॥
Gurmukẖ virlā būjẖai ko▫e.
then, as Gurmukh, one may understand Him.

ਤਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਦੀਵਾ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਹੋਇ
तितु घटि दीवा निहचलु होइ ॥
Ŧiṯ gẖat ḏīvā nihcẖal ho▫e.
Within the heart, this lamp is permanently lit.

ਪਾਣੀ ਮਰੈ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ
पाणी मरै न बुझाइआ जाइ ॥
Pāṇī marai na bujẖā▫i▫ā jā▫e.
It is not extinguished by water or wind.

ਐਸਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਨੀਰਿ ਤਰਾਇ ॥੩॥
ऐसा दीवा नीरि तराइ ॥३॥
Aisā ḏīvā nīr ṯarā▫e. ||3||
Such a lamp will carry you across the water. ||3||

ਡੋਲੈ ਵਾਉ ਵਡਾ ਹੋਇ
डोलै वाउ न वडा होइ ॥
Dolai vā▫o na vadā ho▫e.
Wind does not shake it, or put it out.

ਜਾਪੈ ਜਿਉ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣਿ ਲੋਇ
जापै जिउ सिंघासणि लोइ ॥
Jāpai ji▫o singẖāsaṇ lo▫e.
Its light reveals the Divine Throne.

ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਸੂਦੁ ਕਿ ਵੈਸੁ
खत्री ब्राहमणु सूदु कि वैसु ॥
Kẖaṯrī barāhmaṇ sūḏ kė vais.
The Kshatriyas, Brahmins, Soodras and Vaisyas

ਨਿਰਤਿ ਪਾਈਆ ਗਣੀ ਸਹੰਸ
निरति न पाईआ गणी सहंस ॥
Niraṯ na pā▫ī▫ā gaṇī sahaʼns.
cannot find its value, even by thousands of calculations.

ਐਸਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਬਾਲੇ ਕੋਇ
ऐसा दीवा बाले कोइ ॥
Aisā ḏīvā bāle ko▫e.
If any of them lights such a lamp,

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪਾਰੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੭॥
नानक सो पारंगति होइ ॥४॥७॥
Nānak so pārangaṯ ho▫e. ||4||7||
O Nanak, he is emancipated. ||4||7||

Raamkalee, First Mehl:

ਤੁਧਨੋ ਨਿਵਣੁ ਮੰਨਣੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਉ
तुधनो निवणु मंनणु तेरा नाउ ॥
Ŧuḏẖno nivaṇ manaṇ ṯerā nā▫o.
To place one's faith in Your Name, Lord, is true worship.

ਸਾਚੁ ਭੇਟ ਬੈਸਣ ਕਉ ਥਾਉ
साचु भेट बैसण कउ थाउ ॥
Sācẖ bẖet baisaṇ ka▫o thā▫o.
With an offering of Truth, one obtains a place to sit.

ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ
सतु संतोखु होवै अरदासि ॥
Saṯ sanṯokẖ hovai arḏās.
If a prayer is offered with truth and contentment,

ਤਾ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਦਿ ਬਹਾਲੇ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
ता सुणि सदि बहाले पासि ॥१॥
Ŧā suṇ saḏ bahāle pās. ||1||
the Lord will hear it, and call him in to sit by Him. ||1||

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਹੋਇ
नानक बिरथा कोइ न होइ ॥
Nānak birthā ko▫e na ho▫e.
O Nanak, no one returns empty-handed;

ਐਸੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
ऐसी दरगह साचा सोइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Aisī ḏargėh sācẖā so▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
such is the Court of the True Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਪੋਤਾ ਕਰਮੁ ਪਸਾਉ
प्रापति पोता करमु पसाउ ॥
Parāpaṯ poṯā karam pasā▫o.
The treasure I seek is the gift of Your Grace.

ਤੂ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਚਾਉ
तू देवहि मंगत जन चाउ ॥
Ŧū ḏevėh mangaṯ jan cẖā▫o.
Please bless this humble beggar - this is what I seek.

ਭਾਡੈ ਭਾਉ ਪਵੈ ਤਿਤੁ ਆਇ
भाडै भाउ पवै तितु आइ ॥
Bẖādai bẖā▫o pavai ṯiṯ ā▫e.
Please, pour Your Love into the cup of my heart.

ਧੁਰਿ ਤੈ ਛੋਡੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
धुरि तै छोडी कीमति पाइ ॥२॥
Ḏẖur ṯai cẖẖodī kīmaṯ pā▫e. ||2||
This is Your pre-determined value. ||2||

ਜਿਨਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਆ ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ
जिनि किछु कीआ सो किछु करै ॥
Jin kicẖẖ kī▫ā so kicẖẖ karai.
The One who created everything, does everything.

ਅਪਨੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਧਰੈ
अपनी कीमति आपे धरै ॥
Apnī kīmaṯ āpe ḏẖarai.
He Himself appraises His own value.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ
गुरमुखि परगटु होआ हरि राइ ॥
Gurmukẖ pargat ho▫ā har rā▫e.
The Sovereign Lord King becomes manifest to the Gurmukh.

ਨਾ ਕੋ ਆਵੈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
ना को आवै ना को जाइ ॥३॥
Nā ko āvai nā ko jā▫e. ||3||
He does not come, and He does not go. ||3||

ਲੋਕੁ ਧਿਕਾਰੁ ਕਹੈ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਮਾਗਤ ਮਾਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ
लोकु धिकारु कहै मंगत जन मागत मानु न पाइआ ॥
Lok ḏẖikār kahai mangaṯ jan māgaṯ mān na pā▫i▫ā.
People curse at the beggar; by begging, he does not receive honor.

ਸਹ ਕੀਆ ਗਲਾ ਦਰ ਕੀਆ ਬਾਤਾ ਤੈ ਤਾ ਕਹਣੁ ਕਹਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੮॥
सह कीआ गला दर कीआ बाता तै ता कहणु कहाइआ ॥४॥८॥
Sah kī▫ā galā ḏar kī▫ā bāṯā ṯai ṯā kahaṇ kahā▫i▫ā. ||4||8||
O Lord, You inspire me to speak Your Words, and tell the Story of Your Court. ||4||8||

ਸਾਗਰ ਮਹਿ ਬੂੰਦ ਬੂੰਦ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਕਵਣੁ ਬੁਝੈ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਣੈ
सागर महि बूंद बूंद महि सागरु कवणु बुझै बिधि जाणै ॥
Sāgar mėh būnḏ būnḏ mėh sāgar kavaṇ bujẖai biḏẖ jāṇai.
The drop is in the ocean, and the ocean is in the drop. Who understands, and knows this?

ਉਤਭੁਜ ਚਲਤ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਿ ਚੀਨੈ ਆਪੇ ਤਤੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥੧॥
उतभुज चलत आपि करि चीनै आपे ततु पछाणै ॥१॥
Uṯ▫bẖuj cẖalaṯ āp kar cẖīnai āpe ṯaṯ pacẖẖāṇai. ||1||
He Himself creates the wondrous play of the world. He Himself contemplates it, and understands its true essence. ||1||
