|
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥
Unto the saints, I am a sacrifice.
|
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥
Associating with the saints, I sing the Lord's praise.
|
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਗਏ ॥
By saints' grace, all the sins are dispelled.
|
ਸੰਤ ਸਰਣਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਏ ॥੧॥
The very fortunate ones seek the saints' refuge.
|
ਰਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ॥
Contemplating the Lord, no obstacle befalls the man.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
By Guru's grace, the mortal meditates on his Lord. Pause.
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਬ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
When the Transcendent Lord showers mercy,
|
ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਕਰੈ ਰਵਾਲ ॥
He makes man the dust of the saints feet.
|
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਇ ॥
Lust and wrath then leave this body of his,
|
ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
and Lord, the Jewel come to abide in his mind.
|
ਸਫਲੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਾਂ ਕਾ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
Fruitful and approved is the life of him,
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
who deems the Supreme Lord to be near him.
|
ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
He who is yoked to the Lord's loving adoration and praise,
|
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੩॥
Awakens from the slumber of many births.
|
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
The Lord's Lotus-feet are the prop of His slave.
|
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਰਉਂ ਸਚੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥
To utter the world-Lord's praise is the true trade.
|
ਦਾਸ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਿ ॥
My Master, fulfil Thou the desire of Thy slave.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਜਨ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੪॥੨੦॥੨੨॥੬॥੨੮॥
Nanak finds peace in the dust of the saints feet.

|
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
There is but One God. By the True Guru's grace, He is obtained.
|
ਕਰਿ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
Make thou obeisance onto thy Perfect Guru-God.
|
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸਫਲ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥
Profitable is His vision and fruitful His service.
|
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
He is the Inner-knower Creator-Lord.
|
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
Throughout the eight watches of the day, he remains imbued with the Love of the Lord's Name.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
The Guru is the Master of the Universe and Guru, The cherisher of the world.
|
ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The Guru is the saviour of his servant. Pause.
|
ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ਸਾਹ ਉਮਰਾਉ ਪਤੀਆਏ ॥
He satisfies the Kings, bankers and the nobles the Arrogant villains.
|
ਦੁਸਟ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਚਾਏ ॥
The slanderer's mouth, he afflicts with disease.
|
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਰੋਗੁ ॥
All the men acclaim the Guru's victory.
|
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਕਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਲੋਗੁ ॥੨॥
Within the saints mind is the supreme bliss.
|
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ॥
The saints contemplate the fortunate Divine Guru.
|
ਸੰਤ ਜਪਹਿ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
The faces of his associates become exonerated.
|
ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਭਏ ॥
The faces of his associates become exonerated.
|
ਸਗਲ ਥਾਨ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੇ ਗਏ ॥੩॥
The slanderers lose all the places of refuge.
|
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਜਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੇ ॥
With every breath of his, the Lord's slave ever care-free.
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਰ ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹੇ ॥
He the Great Supreme Lord is ever care-free.
|
ਸਗਲ ਭੈ ਮਿਟੇ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ॥
Seeking whose protection all the fears are eradicated.
|
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਾਏ ਸਭਿ ਧਰਨਿ ॥੪॥
Smashing all the slanderers, the Lord fells them to the ground.
|
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰੈ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
Let no one slander the saints.
|
ਜੋ ਕਰੈ ਸੋ ਦੁਖੀਆ ਹੋਇ ॥
He who calumniates them, becomes miserable.
|
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਜਨੁ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
The whole day long, the Lord's slave remember Him alone.
|
ਜਮੂਆ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥੫॥
The Yama draws not near him.
|
ਜਨ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥
God's slave is uninimical and the slanderer is egotistical?
|
ਜਨ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਹਿ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਵੇਕਾਰੀ ॥
The saint thinks well of all and the calumniator of evil.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਿਖਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
The Guru's Sikh ponders over true Guru alone.
|
ਜਨ ਉਬਰੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨਰਕਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੬॥
The saints are saved and the slanderer is cast into the hell.
|
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Hearken, O my dear friend and intimate.
|
ਸਤਿ ਬਚਨ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥
These words prove to be true in the Lord's court.
|
ਜੈਸਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਤੈਸਾ ਪਾਏ ॥
As he sows, so does reap he.
|
ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਕੀ ਜੜ ਸਰਪਰ ਜਾਏ ॥੭॥
The proud person is assuredly uprooted.
|
ਨੀਧਰਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਧਰ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
Of the supportless thou art the only support, O my True Guru.
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਜਨ ਕੇਰੀ ॥
In thy mercy, save thou the honour of thy slave.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice unto the Guru,
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੮॥੧॥੨੯॥
remembering whom my honour is saved.
