ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਸਭ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥
The Lord abides amongst all.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥
It is the Lord, who illumines all the hearts.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਕਹਤੇ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
Uttering the Lord's Name, man falls not into hell.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਗਲ ਫਲ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
Through the Lord's service, all the fruits are obtained.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਅਧਾਰ ॥
Within my mind is the Lord's mainstay.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
The Lord is the ship to cross the world-ocean.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਕਹਤ ਜਮੁ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਲਾਇਣ ॥
Uttering the Lord's Name, death's courier runs and hastens away.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਦੰਤ ਭਾਨੇ ਡਾਇਣ ॥੨॥
The Lord breaks the teeth of mammon, the wizard.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਬਖਸਿੰਦ ॥
The Lord is ever, ever the Pardoner.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਕੀਨੇ ਸੂਖ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
The Lord blesses me with peace and pleasure.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਨੋ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥
The Lord manifests His slave's glory.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਸੰਤ ਕੋ ਮਾਈ ਬਾਪ ॥੩॥
The Lord is the mother and father of His saint.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਰਾਇਣ ॥
The Lord Master ever remains with His saint.
|
ਬਾਰੰ ਬਾਰ ਨਰਾਇਣ ਗਾਇਣ ॥
Over and over again, I hymn the Lord's praise.
|
ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਹੀ ॥
Meeting with the Guru, I have attained to the Incomprehensible Thing.
|
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਓਟ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਗਹੀ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੧੯॥
Nanak, the slave, has grasped the refuge of the Lord.
|
ਗੋਂਡ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Gond 5th Guru.
|
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਰਾਖੈ ਰਾਖਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
He, whom the Protector protects,
|
ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
his side the Formless Lord takes. Pause.
|
ਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ॥
Fire touches him not in his mother's womb.
|
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਨ ਪੋਹੈ ॥
Lust, wrath, avarice and worldly love affect him not.
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਪੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
In the society of saints, he contemplates the Formless Lord.
|
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਛਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
Dust is thrown in the face of his slanderer.
|
ਰਾਮ ਕਵਚੁ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਸੰਨਾਹੁ ॥
The spell of the Lord's Name is His slave's armour.
|
ਦੂਤ ਦੁਸਟ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੋਹਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
The demons and miscreants touch him not.
|
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਗਰਬੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਜਾਇ ॥
Who-so-ever indulges in ego; he is wasted away.
|
ਗਰੀਬ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥੨॥
The Lord is the prop of His humble slave.
|
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
He, who enters into the refuge of God, the King;
|
ਸੋ ਦਾਸੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਅਪਣੈ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ॥
the Lord saves that slave, hugging him to His bosom.
|
ਜੇ ਕੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਰੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
He who takes much pride;
|
ਓਹੁ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਰੁਲਤਾ ਖਾਕੂ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੩॥
in an instant he is made dust with the dust.
|
ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਹੋਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
He, the True Lord is and shall also be.
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥
Ever and ever I am a sacrifice unto Him.
|
ਅਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਰਖੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
His slaves, the Lord mercifully saves.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੨੦॥
The Lord is the support of Nanak's very life.
|
ਗੋਂਡ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Gond 5th Guru.
|
ਅਚਰਜ ਕਥਾ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੂਪ ॥
Wondrous and greatly unequalled is the description,
|
ਪ੍ਰਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਾ ਰੂਪੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
of beauty of the Supreme Soul and Glorious God. Pause.
|
ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਬੂਢਾ ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਬਾਲਾ ॥
He is not old, nor is He young.
|
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਮ ਜਾਲਾ ॥
He has no sorrow, nor is He caught in the death's noose.
|
ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
He neither perishes, nor departs He.
|
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
In the beginning and from commencement of ages, He is contained everywhere.
|
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਉਸਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਸੁ ਸੀਤੁ ॥
He feels not heat, nor feels he cold.
|
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਮੀਤੁ ॥
He has no enemy, nor has He any friend.
|
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਹਰਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਸੁ ਸੋਗੁ ॥
He feels not joy, nor feels He sorrow.
|
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਇਸ ਕਾ ਇਹੁ ਕਰਨੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੨॥
Everything belongs to Him and He is potent to do everything.
|
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਬਾਪੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਸੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
He has no father, nor has He any mother.
|
ਇਹੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਹੋਤਾ ਆਇਆ ॥
He is yonder of the yond and has ever been.
|
ਪਾਪ ਪੁੰਨ ਕਾ ਇਸੁ ਲੇਪੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
By vice and virtue, He is affected not.
|
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੩॥
Within all the hearts, He is ever awake.
|
ਤੀਨਿ ਗੁਣਾ ਇਕ ਸਕਤਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
He created three qualities and one mammon.
|
ਮਹਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਛਾਇਆ ॥
The great mammon is His shadow.
|
ਅਛਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
He is Undeceivable, Impenetrable, Inscrutable and Merciful.
|
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਸਦਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
He is Merciful to the meek and ever compassionate.
|
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
His condition and measure cannot at all, be known.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੨੧॥
Nanak is a sacrifice, a sacrifice unto, Him.
