ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਇ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਾ ਚੀਤ ॥
निरमल होइ तुम्हारा चीत ॥
Nirmal ho▫e ṯumĥārā cẖīṯ.
Your consciousness shall become immaculate and pure.

ਮਨ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਮਿਟੈ ਬਲਾਇ ॥
मन तन की सभ मिटै बलाइ ॥
Man ṯan kī sabẖ mitai balā▫e.
All the misfortunes of your mind and body shall be taken away,
|
ਦੂਖੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਸਗਲਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
दूखु अंधेरा सगला जाइ ॥१॥
Ḏūkẖ anḏẖerā saglā jā▫e. ||1||
and all your pain and darkness will be dispelled. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਤਰੀਐ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
हरि गुण गावत तरीऐ संसारु ॥
Har guṇ gāvaṯ ṯarī▫ai sansār.
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, cross over the world-ocean.

ਵਡ ਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
वड भागी पाईऐ पुरखु अपारु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
vad bẖāgī pā▫ī▫ai purakẖ apār. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By great good fortune, one attains the Infinite Lord, the Primal Being. ||1||Pause||

ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਕਰੈ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
जो जनु करै कीरतनु गोपाल ॥
Jo jan karai kīrṯan gopāl.
One who sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises,
|
ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਪੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ॥
तिस कउ पोहि न सकै जमकालु ॥
Ŧis ka▫o pohi na sakai jamkāl.
the Messenger of Death cannot even touch that humble being.
|
ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
जग महि आइआ सो परवाणु ॥
Jag mėh ā▫i▫ā so parvāṇ.
His coming into this world is approved,
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ ॥੨॥
गुरमुखि अपना खसमु पछाणु ॥२॥
Gurmukẖ apnā kẖasam pacẖẖāṇ. ||2||
as the Gurmukh realizes his Lord and Master. ||2||
|
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
हरि गुण गावै संत प्रसादि ॥
Har guṇ gāvai sanṯ parsāḏ.
He sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, by the Grace of the Saints;

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਉਨਮਾਦ ॥
काम क्रोध मिटहि उनमाद ॥
Kām kroḏẖ mitėh unmāḏ.
his sexual desire, anger and madness are eradicated.
|
ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਜਾਣੁ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥
सदा हजूरि जाणु भगवंत ॥
Saḏā hajūr jāṇ bẖagvanṯ.
He knows the Lord God to be ever-present.
|
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਮੰਤ ॥੩॥
पूरे गुर का पूरन मंत ॥३॥
Pūre gur kā pūran manṯ. ||3||
This is the Perfect Teaching of the Perfect Guru. ||3||
|
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
हरि धनु खाटि कीए भंडार ॥
Har ḏẖan kẖāt kī▫e bẖandār.
He earns the treasure of the Lord's wealth.
|
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰ ॥
मिलि सतिगुर सभि काज सवार ॥
Mil saṯgur sabẖ kāj savār.
Meeting with the True Guru, all his affairs are resolved.
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਗਾ ॥
हरि के नाम रंग संगि जागा ॥
Har ke nām rang sang jāgā.
He is awake and aware in the Love of the Lord's Name;
|
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੧੬॥
हरि चरणी नानक मनु लागा ॥४॥१४॥१६॥
Har cẖarṇī Nānak man lāgā. ||4||14||16||
O Nanak, his mind is attached to the Lord's Feet. ||4||14||16||

ਗੋਂਡ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Gond, Fifth Mehl:

ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ॥
भव सागर बोहिथ हरि चरण ॥
Bẖav sāgar bohith har cẖaraṇ.
The Lord's Feet are the boat to cross over the terrifying world-ocean.
|
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਣ ॥
सिमरत नामु नाही फिरि मरण ॥
Simraṯ nām nāhī fir maraṇ.
Meditating in remembrance on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he does not die again.
|
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਮਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਮ ਪੰਥ ॥
हरि गुण रमत नाही जम पंथ ॥
Har guṇ ramaṯ nāhī jam panth.
Chanting the Glorious Praises of the Lord, he does not have to walk on the Path of Death.

ਮਹਾ ਬੀਚਾਰ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤਹ ਮੰਥ ॥੧॥
महा बीचार पंच दूतह मंथ ॥१॥
Mahā bīcẖār pancẖ ḏūṯah manth. ||1||
Contemplating the Supreme Lord, the five demons are conquered. ||1||
|
ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਾਥ ॥
तउ सरणाई पूरन नाथ ॥
Ŧa▫o sarṇā▫ī pūran nāth.
I have entered Your Sanctuary, O Perfect Lord and Master.
|
ਜੰਤ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਉ ਦੀਜਹਿ ਹਾਥ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जंत अपने कउ दीजहि हाथ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Janṯ apne ka▫o ḏījėh hāth. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Please give Your hand to Your creatures. ||1||Pause||

ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ ॥
सिम्रिति सासत्र बेद पुराण ॥
Simriṯ sāsṯar beḏ purāṇ.
The Simritees, Shaastras, Vedas and Puraanas
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਵਖਿਆਣ ॥
पारब्रहम का करहि वखिआण ॥
Pārbarahm kā karahi vakẖi▫āṇ.
expound upon the Supreme Lord God.
|
ਜੋਗੀ ਜਤੀ ਬੈਸਨੋ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ॥
जोगी जती बैसनो रामदास ॥
Jogī jaṯī baisno Rāmḏās.
The Yogis, celibates, Vaishnavs and followers of Ram Das
|
ਮਿਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ ॥੨॥
मिति नाही ब्रहम अबिनास ॥२॥
Miṯ nāhī barahm abinās. ||2||
cannot find the limits of the Eternal Lord God. ||2||
|
ਕਰਣ ਪਲਾਹ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਿਵ ਦੇਵ ॥
करण पलाह करहि सिव देव ॥
Karaṇ palāh karahi siv ḏev.
Shiva and the gods lament and moan,
|
ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵ ॥
तिलु नही बूझहि अलख अभेव ॥
Ŧil nahī būjẖėh alakẖ abẖev.
but they do not understand even a tiny bit of the unseen and unknown Lord.

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ॥
प्रेम भगति जिसु आपे देइ ॥
Parem bẖagaṯ jis āpe ḏe▫e.
One whom the Lord Himself blesses with loving devotional worship,
|
ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕੇਈ ਕੇਇ ॥੩॥
जग महि विरले केई केइ ॥३॥
Jag mėh virle ke▫ī ke▫e. ||3||
is very rare in this world. ||3||
|
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਗੁਣੁ ਕਿਛਹੂ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
मोहि निरगुण गुणु किछहू नाहि ॥
Mohi nirguṇ guṇ kicẖẖahū nāhi.
I am worthless, with absolutely no virtue at all;
|
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
सरब निधान तेरी द्रिसटी माहि ॥
Sarab niḏẖān ṯerī ḏaristī māhi.
all treasures are in Your Glance of Grace.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੀਨੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵ ॥
नानकु दीनु जाचै तेरी सेव ॥
Nānak ḏīn jācẖai ṯerī sev.
Nanak, the meek, desires only to serve You.
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੀਜੈ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੧੭॥
करि किरपा दीजै गुरदेव ॥४॥१५॥१७॥
Kar kirpā ḏījai gurḏev. ||4||15||17||
Please be merciful, and grant him this blessing, O Divine Guru. ||4||15||17||

ਗੋਂਡ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Gond, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਲੀਆ ਧਰਤਿ ਬਿਦਾਰਉ ॥
संत का लीआ धरति बिदारउ ॥
Sanṯ kā lī▫ā ḏẖaraṯ biḏāra▫o.
One who is cursed by the Saints, is thrown down on the ground.
|
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਅਕਾਸ ਤੇ ਟਾਰਉ ॥
संत का निंदकु अकास ते टारउ ॥
Sanṯ kā ninḏak akās ṯe tāra▫o.
The slanderer of the Saints is thrown down from the skies.
|
ਸੰਤ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਉ ਅਪਨੇ ਜੀਅ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
संत कउ राखउ अपने जीअ नालि ॥
Sanṯ ka▫o rākẖa▫o apne jī▫a nāl.
I hold the Saints close to my soul.
|
ਸੰਤ ਉਧਾਰਉ ਤਤਖਿਣ ਤਾਲਿ ॥੧॥
संत उधारउ ततखिण तालि ॥१॥
Sanṯ uḏẖāra▫o ṯaṯ▫kẖiṇ ṯāl. ||1||
The Saints are saved instantaneously. ||1||
|
ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਜਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਰਾਮ ॥
सोई संतु जि भावै राम ॥
So▫ī sanṯ jė bẖāvai rām.
He alone is a Saint, who is pleasing to the Lord.
|
ਸੰਤ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੈ ਏਕੈ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
संत गोबिंद कै एकै काम ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sanṯ gobinḏ kai ekai kām. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Saints, and God, have only one job to do. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਊਪਰਿ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਾਥ ॥
संत कै ऊपरि देइ प्रभु हाथ ॥
Sanṯ kai ūpar ḏe▫e parabẖ hāth.
God gives His hand to shelter the Saints.
|
ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
संत कै संगि बसै दिनु राति ॥
Sanṯ kai sang basai ḏin rāṯ.
He dwells with His Saints, day and night.
|
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸੰਤਹ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਿ ॥
सासि सासि संतह प्रतिपालि ॥
Sās sās sanṯėh parṯipāl.
With each and every breath, He cherishes His Saints.
|
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਟਾਲਿ ॥੨॥
संत का दोखी राज ते टालि ॥२॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī rāj ṯe tāl. ||2||
He takes the power away from the enemies of the Saints. ||2||
|
ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
संत की निंदा करहु न कोइ ॥
Sanṯ kī ninḏā karahu na ko▫e.
Let no one slander the Saints.
|
ਜੋ ਨਿੰਦੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਪਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
जो निंदै तिस का पतनु होइ ॥
Jo ninḏai ṯis kā paṯan ho▫e.
Whoever slanders them, will be destroyed.
|
ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਰਾਖੈ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੁ ॥
जिस कउ राखै सिरजनहारु ॥
Jis ka▫o rākẖai sirjanhār.
One who is protected by the Creator Lord,
|
ਝਖ ਮਾਰਉ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
झख मारउ सगल संसारु ॥३॥
Jẖakẖ māra▫o sagal sansār. ||3||
cannot be harmed, no matter how much the whole world may try. ||3||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਾ ਭਇਆ ਬਿਸਾਸੁ ॥
प्रभ अपने का भइआ बिसासु ॥
Parabẖ apne kā bẖa▫i▫ā bisās.
I place my faith in my God.
|
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
जीउ पिंडु सभु तिस की रासि ॥
Jī▫o pind sabẖ ṯis kī rās.
My soul and body all belong to Him.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਉਪਜੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ॥
नानक कउ उपजी परतीति ॥
Nānak ka▫o upjī parṯīṯ.
This is the faith which inspires Nanak:
|
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਹਾਰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਦ ਜੀਤਿ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੧੮॥
मनमुख हार गुरमुख सद जीति ॥४॥१६॥१८॥
Manmukẖ hār gurmukẖ saḏ jīṯ. ||4||16||18||
the self-willed manmukhs will fail, while the Gurmukhs will always win. ||4||16||18||

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਨੀਰਿ ਨਰਾਇਣ ॥

Nām niranjan nīr narā▫iṇ.
The Name of the Immaculate Lord is the Ambrosial Water.

ਰਸਨਾ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਾਪ ਬਿਲਾਇਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
रसना सिमरत पाप बिलाइण ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Rasnā simraṯ pāp bilā▫iṇ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Chanting it with the tongue, sins are washed away. ||1||Pause||
