ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਵਲਿ ਹੋਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ
Jan Nānak kai val ho▫ā merā su▫āmī har sajaṇ purakẖ sujān.
My Lord and Master is on the side of servant Nanak. The All-powerful and All-knowing Lord God is my Best Friend.

ਪਉਦੀ ਭਿਤਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਸਭਿ ਆਇ ਪਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪੈਰੀ ਲਾਹਿਓਨੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਿਅਹੁ ਮਨਹੁ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥੧੦॥
Pa▫uḏī bẖiṯ ḏekẖ kai sabẖ ā▫e pa▫e saṯgur kī pairī lāhi▫on sabẖnā ki▫ahu manhu gumān. ||10||
Seeing the food being distributed, everyone came and fell at the feet of the True Guru, who cleansed the minds of all of their egotistical pride. ||10||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
Salok mėhlā 1.
Shalok, First Mehl:

ਕੋਈ ਵਾਹੇ ਕੋ ਲੁਣੈ ਕੋ ਪਾਏ ਖਲਿਹਾਨਿ
Ko▫ī vāhe ko luṇai ko pā▫e kẖalihān.
One plants the seed, another harvests the crop, and still another beats the grain from the chaff.

ਨਾਨਕ ਏਵ ਜਾਪਈ ਕੋਈ ਖਾਇ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥੧॥
Nānak ev na jāp▫ī ko▫ī kẖā▫e niḏān. ||1||
O Nanak, it is not known, who will ultimately eat the grain. ||1||

Mėhlā 1.
First Mehl:

ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਤਰਿਆ ਸੋਇ
Jis man vasi▫ā ṯari▫ā so▫e.
He alone is carried across, within whose mind the Lord abides.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
Nānak jo bẖāvai so ho▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, that alone happens, which is pleasing to His Will. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਦਇਆਲਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਾਰਿਆ
Pārbarahm ḏa▫i▫āl sāgar ṯāri▫ā.
The Merciful Supreme Lord God has carried me across the world-ocean.

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਮਾਰਿਆ
Gur pūrai miharvān bẖaram bẖa▫o māri▫ā.
The compassionate perfect Guru has eradicated my doubts and fears.

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਬਿਕਰਾਲੁ ਦੂਤ ਸਭਿ ਹਾਰਿਆ
Kām kroḏẖ bikrāl ḏūṯ sabẖ hāri▫ā.
Unsatisfied sexual desire and unresolved anger, the horrible demons, have been totally destroyed.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ
Amriṯ nām niḏẖān kanṯẖ ur ḏẖāri▫ā.
I have enshrined the treasure of the Ambrosial Naam within my throat and heart.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੧॥
Nānak sāḏẖū sang janam maraṇ savāri▫ā. ||11||
O Nanak, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, my birth and death have been adorned and redeemed. ||11||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਕੂੜੇ ਕਹਣ ਕਹੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ
Jinĥī nām visāri▫ā kūṛe kahaṇ kahaʼnniĥ.
Those who forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, are said to be false.

ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਤਿਨਾ ਘਰੁ ਮੁਹਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ
Pancẖ cẖor ṯinā gẖar muhniĥ ha▫umai anḏar saʼnniĥ.
The five thieves plunder their homes, and egotism breaks in.

ਸਾਕਤ ਮੁਠੇ ਦੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਜਾਣੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ
Sākaṯ muṯẖe ḏurmaṯī har ras na jāṇaʼnniĥ.
The faithless cynics are defrauded by their own evil-mindedness; they do not know the sublime essence of the Lord.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਲੁਟਾਇਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਸਿਉ ਰਚਹਿ ਰਚੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ
Jinĥī amriṯ bẖaram lutā▫i▫ā bikẖ si▫o racẖėh racẖaʼnniĥ.
Those who lose the Ambrosial Nectar through doubt, remain engrossed and entangled in corruption.

ਦੁਸਟਾ ਸੇਤੀ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਵਾਦੁ ਕਰੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ
Ḏustā seṯī pirhaṛī jan si▫o vāḏ karaʼnniĥ.
They make friends with the wicked, and argue with the humble servants of the Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਕਤ ਨਰਕ ਮਹਿ ਜਮਿ ਬਧੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਹੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ
Nānak sākaṯ narak mėh jam baḏẖe ḏukẖ sahaʼnniĥ.
O Nanak, the faithless cynics are bound and gagged by the Messenger of Death, and suffer agony in hell.

ਪਇਐ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਜਿਵ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਵੈ ਰਹੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ॥੧॥
Pa▫i▫ai kiraṯ kamāvḏe jiv rākẖahi ṯivai rahaʼnniĥ. ||1||
They act according to the karma of the actions they committed before; as the Lord keeps them, so do they live. ||1||

ਮਃ
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਾਣੁ ਨਿਤਾਣੇ ਤਿਸੁ
Jinĥī saṯgur sevi▫ā ṯāṇ niṯāṇe ṯis.
Those who serve the True Guru, are transformed from powerless into powerful.

ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਸਕੈ ਤਿਸੁ
Sās girās saḏā man vasai jam johi na sakai ṯis.
With every breath and morsel of food, the Lord abides in their minds forever, and the Messenger of Death cannot even see them.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਕਵਲਾ ਸੇਵਕਿ ਤਿਸੁ
Hirḏai har har nām ras kavlā sevak ṯis.
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, fills their hearts, and Maya is their servant.

ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਪਰਮ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਤਿਸੁ
Har ḏāsā kā ḏās ho▫e param paḏārath ṯis.
One who becomes the slave of the Lord's slaves, obtains the greatest treasure.

ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਸੈ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੈ ਤਿਸੁ
Nānak man ṯan jis parabẖ vasai ha▫o saḏ kurbāṇai ṯis.
O Nanak, I am forever a sacrifice to that one, within whose mind and body God dwells.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਰਸੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਤਿਸੁ ॥੨॥
Jinĥ ka▫o pūrab likẖi▫ā ras sanṯ janā si▫o ṯis. ||2||
One who has such pre-ordained destiny, he alone is in love with the humble Saints. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਜੋ ਬੋਲੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੋ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਸੁਣਿਆ
Jo bole pūrā saṯgurū so parmesar suṇi▫ā.
Whatever the Perfect True Guru says, the Transcendent Lord hears.

ਸੋਈ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਗਤ ਮਹਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਭਣਿਆ
So▫ī varṯi▫ā jagaṯ mėh gẖat gẖat mukẖ bẖaṇi▫ā.
It pervades and permeates the whole world, and it is on the mouth of each and every being.

ਬਹੁਤੁ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਸਾਹਿਬੈ ਨਹ ਜਾਹੀ ਗਣੀਆ
Bahuṯ vaḏi▫ā▫ī▫ā sāhibai nah jāhī gaṇī▫ā.
So numerous are the great glories of the Lord, they cannot even be counted.

ਸਚੁ ਸਹਜੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸਿ ਸਚੀ ਗੁਰ ਮਣੀਆ
Sacẖ sahj anaḏ saṯgurū pās sacẖī gur maṇī▫ā.
Truth, poise and bliss rest in the True Guru; the Guru bestows the jewel of Truth.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਸਚੇ ਜਿਉ ਬਣਿਆ ॥੧੨॥
Nānak sanṯ savāre pārbarahm sacẖe ji▫o baṇi▫ā. ||12||
O Nanak, the Supreme Lord God embellishes the Saints, who become like the True Lord. ||12||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ

Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਦੂਰਿ
Apṇā āp na pacẖẖāṇ▫ī har parabẖ jāṯā ḏūr.
He does not understand himself; he believes the Lord God to be far away.

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਸਰੀ ਕਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਰਹੈ ਹਜੂਰਿ
Gur kī sevā visrī ki▫o man rahai hajūr.
He forgets to serve the Guru; how can his mind remain in the Lord's Presence?

ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਝੂਠੈ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਕੂਰਿ
Manmukẖ janam gavā▫i▫ā jẖūṯẖai lālacẖ kūr.
The self-willed manmukh wastes away his life in worthless greed and falsehood.

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥੧॥
Nānak bakẖas milā▫i▫an sacẖai sabaḏ haḏūr. ||1||
O Nanak, the Lord forgives, and blends them with Himself; through the True Word of the Shabad, He is ever-present. ||1||

ਮਃ
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ
Har parabẖ sacẖā sohilā gurmukẖ nām govinḏ.
True is the Praise of the Lord God; the Gurmukh chants the Name of the Lord of the Universe.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ
An▫ḏin nām salāhṇā har japi▫ā man ānanḏ.
Praising the Naam night and day, and meditating on the Lord, the mind becomes blissful.

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦੁ
vadbẖāgī har pā▫i▫ā pūran parmānanḏ.
By great good fortune, I have found the Lord, the perfect embodiment of supreme bliss.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭੰਗੁ ॥੨॥
Jan Nānak nām sahāli▫ā bahuṛ na man ṯan bẖang. ||2||
Servant Nanak praises the Naam; his mind and body shall never again be shattered. ||2||
