ਜਗਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਸਾਧ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਲਾਗਹੁ ਪਾਲ
जगत उधारन साध प्रभ तिन्ह लागहु पाल ॥
Jagaṯ uḏẖāran sāḏẖ parabẖ ṯinĥ lāgahu pāl.
God's Holy people are the saviors of the world; I grab hold of the hem of their robes.

ਮੋ ਕਉ ਦੀਜੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਤਨ ਪਗ ਰਾਲ ॥੨॥
मो कउ दीजै दानु प्रभ संतन पग राल ॥२॥
Mo ka▫o ḏījai ḏān parabẖ sanṯan pag rāl. ||2||
Bless me, O God, with the gift of the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||2||

ਉਕਤਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਕਛੁ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਛੁ ਘਾਲ
उकति सिआनप कछु नही नाही कछु घाल ॥
Ukaṯ si▫ānap kacẖẖ nahī nāhī kacẖẖ gẖāl.
I have no skill or wisdom at all, nor any work to my credit.

ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਮੋਹ ਤੇ ਕਾਟਹੁ ਜਮ ਜਾਲ ॥੩॥
भ्रम भै राखहु मोह ते काटहु जम जाल ॥३॥
Bẖaram bẖai rākẖo moh ṯe kātahu jam jāl. ||3||
Please, protect me from doubt, fear and emotional attachment, and cut away the noose of Death from my neck. ||3||

ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰਉ ਕਰੁਣਾਪਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ
बिनउ करउ करुणापते पिता प्रतिपाल ॥
Bin▫o kara▫o karuṇāpaṯe piṯā parṯipāl.
I beg of You, O Lord of Mercy, O my Father, please cherish me!

ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਉ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਲ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੪੧॥
गुण गावउ तेरे साधसंगि नानक सुख साल ॥४॥११॥४१॥
Guṇ gāva▫o ṯere sāḏẖsang Nānak sukẖ sāl. ||4||11||41||
I sing Your Glorious Praises, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Lord, Home of peace. ||4||11||41||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ
बिलावलु महला ५ ॥
Bilāval mėhlā 5.
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:

ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜਹਿ ਸੋ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ
कीता लोड़हि सो करहि तुझ बिनु कछु नाहि ॥
Kīṯā loṛėh so karahi ṯujẖ bin kacẖẖ nāhi.
Whatever You wish, You do. Without You, there is nothing.

ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਛਡਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
परतापु तुम्हारा देखि कै जमदूत छडि जाहि ॥१॥
Parṯāp ṯumĥārā ḏekẖ kai jamḏūṯ cẖẖad jāhi. ||1||
Gazing upon Your Glory, the Messenger of Death leaves and goes away. ||1||

ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਅਹੰਮੇਵ
तुम्हरी क्रिपा ते छूटीऐ बिनसै अहमेव ॥
Ŧumĥrī kirpā ṯe cẖẖūtī▫ai binsai ahaʼnmev.
By Your Grace, one is emancipated, and egotism is dispelled.

ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਸਮਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
सरब कला समरथ प्रभ पूरे गुरदेव ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sarab kalā samrath parabẖ pūre gurḏev. ||1|| rahā▫o.
God is omnipotent, possessing all powers; He is obtained through the Perfect, Divine Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਿਆ ਨਾਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੂਰੁ
खोजत खोजत खोजिआ नामै बिनु कूरु ॥
Kẖojaṯ kẖojaṯ kẖoji▫ā nāmai bin kūr.
Searching, searching, searching - without the Naam, everything is false.

ਜੀਵਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰੁ ॥੨॥
जीवन सुखु सभु साधसंगि प्रभ मनसा पूरु ॥२॥
Jīvan sukẖ sabẖ sāḏẖsang parabẖ mansā pūr. ||2||
All the comforts of life are found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; God is the Fulfiller of desires. ||2||

ਜਿਤੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਵਹੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਗਹਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਸਭ ਜਾਲੀ
जितु जितु लावहु तितु तितु लगहि सिआनप सभ जाली ॥
Jiṯ jiṯ lāvhu ṯiṯ ṯiṯ lagėh si▫ānap sabẖ jālī.
Whatever You attach me to, to that I am attached; I have burnt away all my cleverness.

ਜਤ ਕਤ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲੀ ॥੩॥
जत कत तुम्ह भरपूर हहु मेरे दीन दइआली ॥३॥
Jaṯ kaṯ ṯumĥ bẖarpūr hahu mere ḏīn ḏa▫i▫ālī. ||3||
You are permeating and pervading everywhere, O my Lord, Merciful to the meek. ||3||

ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਮਾਗਨਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਏ
सभु किछु तुम ते मागना वडभागी पाए ॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ ṯum ṯe māgnā vadbẖāgī pā▫e.
I ask for everything from You, but only the very fortunate ones obtain it.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਵਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੪੨॥
नानक की अरदासि प्रभ जीवा गुन गाए ॥४॥१२॥४२॥
Nānak kī arḏās parabẖ jīvā gun gā▫e. ||4||12||42||
This is Nanak's prayer, O God, I live by singing Your Glorious Praises. ||4||12||42||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਬਾਸਬੈ ਕਲਮਲ ਸਭਿ ਨਸਨਾ
साधसंगति कै बासबै कलमल सभि नसना ॥
Sāḏẖsangaṯ kai bāsbai kalmal sabẖ nasnā.
Dwelling in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, all sins are erased.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਤੀ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਿਆ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਗਰਭਿ ਗ੍ਰਸਨਾ ॥੧॥
प्रभ सेती रंगि रातिआ ता ते गरभि न ग्रसना ॥१॥
Parabẖ seṯī rang rāṯi▫ā ṯā ṯe garabẖ na garsanā. ||1||
One who is attuned to the Love of God, is not cast into the womb of reincarnation. ||1||

ਨਾਮੁ ਕਹਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਸੂਚੀ ਭਈ ਰਸਨਾ
नामु कहत गोविंद का सूची भई रसना ॥
Nām kahaṯ govinḏ kā sūcẖī bẖa▫ī rasnā.
Chanting the Name of the Lord of the Universe, the tongue becomes holy.

ਮਨ ਤਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਜਪੁ ਜਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
मन तन निरमल होई है गुर का जपु जपना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Man ṯan nirmal ho▫ī hai gur kā jap japnā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The mind and body become immaculate and pure, chanting the Chant of the Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਤ ਧ੍ਰਾਪਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਰਸੁ ਲੈ ਹਸਨਾ
हरि रसु चाखत ध्रापिआ मनि रसु लै हसना ॥
Har ras cẖākẖaṯ ḏẖarāpi▫ā man ras lai hasnā.
Tasting the subtle essence of the Lord, one is satisfied; receiving this essence, the mind becomes happy.

ਬੁਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਈ ਉਲਟਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸਨਾ ॥੨॥
बुधि प्रगास प्रगट भई उलटि कमलु बिगसना ॥२॥
Buḏẖ pargās pargat bẖa▫ī ulat kamal bigsanā. ||2||
The intellect is brightened and illuminated; turning away from the world, the heart-lotus blossoms forth. ||2||

ਸੀਤਲ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਸਭ ਬੂਝੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ
सीतल सांति संतोखु होइ सभ बूझी त्रिसना ॥
Sīṯal sāʼnṯ sanṯokẖ ho▫e sabẖ būjẖī ṯarisnā.
He is cooled and soothed, peaceful and content; all his thirst is quenched.

ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਧਾਵਤ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਥਾਨਿ ਬਸਨਾ ॥੩॥
दह दिस धावत मिटि गए निरमल थानि बसना ॥३॥
Ḏah ḏis ḏẖāvaṯ mit ga▫e nirmal thān basnā. ||3||
The mind's wandering in the ten directions is stopped, and one dwells in the immaculate place. ||3||

ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੈ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਭਏ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭਸਨਾ
राखनहारै राखिआ भए भ्रम भसना ॥
Rākẖanhārai rākẖi▫ā bẖa▫e bẖaram bẖasnā.
The Savior Lord saves him, and his doubts are burnt to ashes.

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੀ ਪੇਖਿ ਸਾਧ ਦਰਸਨਾ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੪੩॥
नामु निधान नानक सुखी पेखि साध दरसना ॥४॥१३॥४३॥
Nām niḏẖān Nānak sukẖī pekẖ sāḏẖ ḏarsanā. ||4||13||43||
Nanak is blessed with the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. He finds peace, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Saints' Darshan. ||4||13||43||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ
बिलावलु महला ५ ॥
Bilāval mėhlā 5.
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:

ਪਾਣੀ ਪਖਾ ਪੀਸੁ ਦਾਸ ਕੈ ਤਬ ਹੋਹਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ
पाणी पखा पीसु दास कै तब होहि निहालु ॥
Pāṇī pakẖā pīs ḏās kai ṯab hohi nihāl.
Carry water for the Lord's slave, wave the fan over him, and grind his corn; then, you shall be happy.

ਰਾਜ ਮਿਲਖ ਸਿਕਦਾਰੀਆ ਅਗਨੀ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਲੁ ॥੧॥
राज मिलख सिकदारीआ अगनी महि जालु ॥१॥
Rāj milakẖ sikḏārī▫ā agnī mėh jāl. ||1||
Burn in the fire your power, property and authority. ||1||

ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਛੋਹਰਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਿ
संत जना का छोहरा तिसु चरणी लागि ॥
Sanṯ janā kā cẖẖohrā ṯis cẖarṇī lāg.
Grasp hold of the feet of the servant of the humble Saints.

ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ਛਤ੍ਰਪਤਿ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਛੋਡਉ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
माइआधारी छत्रपति तिन्ह छोडउ तिआगि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mā▫i▫āḏẖārī cẖẖaṯarpaṯ ṯinĥ cẖẖoda▫o ṯi▫āg. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Renounce and abandon the wealthy, the regal overlords and kings. ||1||Pause||

ਸੰਤਨ ਕਾ ਦਾਨਾ ਰੂਖਾ ਸੋ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ
संतन का दाना रूखा सो सरब निधान ॥
Sanṯan kā ḏānā rūkẖā so sarab niḏẖān.
The dry bread of the Saints is equal to all treasures.

ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸਾਕਤ ਛਤੀਹ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਬਿਖੂ ਸਮਾਨ ॥੨॥
ग्रिहि साकत छतीह प्रकार ते बिखू समान ॥२॥
Garihi sākaṯ cẖẖaṯīh parkār ṯe bikẖū samān. ||2||
The thirty-six tasty dishes of the faithless cynic, are just like poison. ||2||

ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਲੂਗਰਾ ਓਢਿ ਨਗਨ ਹੋਈ
भगत जना का लूगरा ओढि नगन न होई ॥
Bẖagaṯ janā kā lūgrā odẖ nagan na ho▫ī.
Wearing the old blankets of the humble devotees, one is not naked.

ਸਾਕਤ ਸਿਰਪਾਉ ਰੇਸਮੀ ਪਹਿਰਤ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥੩॥
साकत सिरपाउ रेसमी पहिरत पति खोई ॥३॥
Sākaṯ sirpā▫o resmī pahiraṯ paṯ kẖo▫ī. ||3||
But by putting on the silk clothes of the faithless cynic, one loses one's honor. ||3||

ਸਾਕਤ ਸਿਉ ਮੁਖਿ ਜੋਰਿਐ ਅਧ ਵੀਚਹੁ ਟੂਟੈ
साकत सिउ मुखि जोरिऐ अध वीचहु टूटै ॥
Sākaṯ si▫o mukẖ jori▫ai aḏẖ vīcẖahu tūtai.
Friendship with the faithless cynic breaks down mid-way.

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਇਤ ਊਤਹਿ ਛੂਟੈ ॥੪॥
हरि जन की सेवा जो करे इत ऊतहि छूटै ॥४॥
Har jan kī sevā jo kare iṯ ūṯėh cẖẖūtai. ||4||
But whoever serves the humble servants of the Lord, is emancipated here and hereafter. ||4||

ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਹੋਆ ਆਪਿ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ
सभ किछु तुम्ह ही ते होआ आपि बणत बणाई ॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ ṯumĥ hī ṯe ho▫ā āp baṇaṯ baṇā▫ī.
Everything comes from You, O Lord; You Yourself created the creation.

ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈ ॥੫॥੧੪॥੪੪॥
दरसनु भेटत साध का नानक गुण गाई ॥५॥१४॥४४॥
Ḏarsan bẖetaṯ sāḏẖ kā Nānak guṇ gā▫ī. ||5||14||44||
Blessed with the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy, Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||5||14||44||
