ਪੁਰਬੇ ਕਮਾਏ ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗ ਪਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਿਆ ॥
पुरबे कमाए स्रीरंग पाए हरि मिले चिरी विछुंनिआ ॥
Purbe kamā▫e sarīrang pā▫e har mile cẖirī vicẖẖunni▫ā.
By virtue of past actions I have attained to the Lover of eminence the Lord. He who was separated from me since long has met me.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸਰਬਤਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਬਿਸੁਆਸੋ ॥
अंतरि बाहरि सरबति रविआ मनि उपजिआ बिसुआसो ॥
Anṯar bāhar sarbaṯ ravi▫ā man upji▫ā bisu▫āso.
Within my mind I have obtained faith in Him who is pervading everywhere within and without.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਿਖ ਦੇਇ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੋ ॥੪॥
नानकु सिख देइ मन प्रीतम करि संता संगि निवासो ॥४॥
Nānak sikẖ ḏe▫e man parīṯam kar sanṯā sang nivāso. ||4||
Nanak, counsels thee, O my beloved Soul! to secure abode in the saints' congregation.

ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
मन पिआरिआ जीउ मित्रा हरि प्रेम भगति मनु लीना ॥
Man pi▫āri▫ā jī▫o miṯrā har parem bẖagaṯ man līnā.
O mind! my dear friend do thou heartily remain absorbed in the lovable service of God.

ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਲ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੀਵੇ ਮੀਨਾ ॥
मन पिआरिआ जीउ मित्रा हरि जल मिलि जीवे मीना ॥
Man pi▫āri▫ā jī▫o miṯrā har jal mil jīve mīnā.
O my soul! my dear friend, the mind's fish remains alive only by meeting God's water.

ਹਰਿ ਪੀ ਆਘਾਨੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੇ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਮਨ ਵੁਠੇ ॥
हरि पी आघाने अम्रित बाने स्रब सुखा मन वुठे ॥
Har pī āgẖāne amriṯ bāne sarab sukẖā man vuṯẖe.
All the pleasures abide within the mind of those who are satiated by drinking God's ambrosial Gurbani.

ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਪਾਏ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਏ ਇਛ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੁਠੇ ॥
स्रीधर पाए मंगल गाए इछ पुंनी सतिगुर तुठे ॥
Sarīḏẖar pā▫e mangal gā▫e icẖẖ punnī saṯgur ṯuṯẖe.
On attaining the Lord of excellence, I sing songs of joy. The True Guru has become merciful and my desires are fulfilled.

ਲੜਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਲਾਏ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਉ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਦੀਨਾ ॥
लड़ि लीने लाए नउ निधि पाए नाउ सरबसु ठाकुरि दीना ॥
Laṛ līne lā▫e na▫o niḏẖ pā▫e nā▫o sarbas ṯẖākur ḏīnā.
The Guru has attached me to his skirt and I have obtained the nine treasures. The Lord given Name is everything for me.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਖ ਸੰਤ ਸਮਝਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥੫॥੧॥੨॥
नानक सिख संत समझाई हरि प्रेम भगति मनु लीना ॥५॥१॥२॥
Nānak sikẖ sanṯ samjẖā▫ī har parem bẖagaṯ man līnā. ||5||1||2||
Nanak counsels the saints to instruct, so that the soul is sunk in the devotional service of God.

Haṯẖ majẖāhū mā pirī pase ki▫o ḏīḏār.
Within my mind is my Beloved How shall I see His sight?

संत सरणाई लभणे नानक प्राण अधार ॥१॥
Sanṯ sarṇā▫ī labẖ▫ṇe Nānak parāṇ aḏẖār. ||1||
By seeking the sanctuary of the Saint Guru O Nanak! Lord the prop of life is found.

चरन कमल सिउ प्रीति रीति संतन मनि आवए जीउ ॥
Cẖaran kamal si▫o parīṯ rīṯ sanṯan man āv▫e jī▫o.
The life's routine of bearing affection with Lord's lotus feet has entered the mind of His saints.

ਦੁਤੀਆ ਭਾਉ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ਅਨੀਤਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਨਹ ਭਾਵਏ ਜੀਉ ॥
दुतीआ भाउ बिपरीति अनीति दासा नह भावए जीउ ॥
Ḏuṯī▫ā bẖā▫o biprīṯ anīṯ ḏāsā nah bẖāv▫e jī▫o.
The evil practice and bad habit of the love of duality, Lord's slaves like not.

ਦਾਸਾ ਨਹ ਭਾਵਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਰਸਾਵਏ ਇਕ ਖਿਨੁ ਧੀਰਜੁ ਕਿਉ ਕਰੈ ॥
दासा नह भावए बिनु दरसावए इक खिनु धीरजु किउ करै ॥
Ḏāsā nah bẖāv▫e bin ḏarsāv▫e ik kẖin ḏẖīraj ki▫o karai.
Sans Lord's sight, nothing is pleasing to His attendants without Him. How can they have peace even for a moment?

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨਾ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੀਨਾ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਜਿਉ ਮਰੈ ॥
नाम बिहूना तनु मनु हीना जल बिनु मछुली जिउ मरै ॥
Nām bihūnā ṯan man hīnā jal bin macẖẖulī ji▫o marai.
Without Lord's Name, the body and mind are empty and die like fish sans water.

ਮਿਲੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਵਏ ॥
मिलु मेरे पिआरे प्रान अधारे गुण साधसंगि मिलि गावए ॥
Mil mere pi▫āre parān aḏẖāre guṇ sāḏẖsang mil gāv▫e.
Meet me my Beloved. Thou art the support of my life. Meeting the society of saints I sing Thy praises.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਵਏ ॥੧॥
नानक के सुआमी धारि अनुग्रहु मनि तनि अंकि समावए ॥१॥
Nānak ke su▫āmī ḏẖār anūgrahu man ṯan ank samāv▫e. ||1||
O Lord of Nanak! show mercy and permeate thou this soul, body and heart of mine.

ਸੋਹੰਦੜੋ ਹਭ ਠਾਇ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਦਿਸੈ ਡੂਜੜੋ ॥
सोहंदड़ो हभ ठाइ कोइ न दिसै डूजड़ो ॥
Sohanḏaṛo habẖ ṯẖā▫e ko▫e na ḏisai dūjṛo.
Beauteous looks the Lord at all places. I see not any other.

ਖੁਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੜੇ ਕਪਾਟ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਤੇ ॥੧॥
खुल्हड़े कपाट नानक सतिगुर भेटते ॥१॥
Kẖulĥṛe kapāt Nānak saṯgur bẖetṯe. ||1||
By meeting the True Guru the shutters are opened, O Nanak!

तेरे बचन अनूप अपार संतन आधार बाणी बीचारीऐ जीउ ॥
Ŧere bacẖan anūp apār sanṯan āḏẖār baṇī bīcẖārī▫ai jī▫o.
O Lord! incomparable and infinite are Thy words. They are the mainstay of Thy saint. Reflect on Gurbani, O Man!

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਿਸੁਆਸ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥
सिमरत सास गिरास पूरन बिसुआस किउ मनहु बिसारीऐ जीउ ॥
Simraṯ sās girās pūran bisu▫ās ki▫o manhu bisārī▫ai jī▫o.
With perfect faith, at every breath and morsel of mine, I meditate on the Lord. How can I forget Him in my mind?

ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਬੇਸਾਰੀਐ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਹੀ ਟਾਰੀਐ ਗੁਣਵੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
किउ मनहु बेसारीऐ निमख नही टारीऐ गुणवंत प्रान हमारे ॥
Ki▫o manhu besārī▫ai nimakẖ nahī tārī▫ai guṇvanṯ parān hamāre.
Why should I mentally forget and put off even for a moment the meritorious Master who is my very life?

ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਦੇਤ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਸਾਰੇ ॥
मन बांछत फल देत है सुआमी जीअ की बिरथा सारे ॥
Man bāʼncẖẖaṯ fal ḏeṯ hai su▫āmī jī▫a kī birthā sāre.
The Lord gives the heart desired fruits and knows the entire condition of the mind.

ਅਨਾਥ ਕੇ ਨਾਥੇ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਕੈ ਸਾਥੇ ਜਪਿ ਜੂਐ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਹਾਰੀਐ ॥
अनाथ के नाथे स्रब कै साथे जपि जूऐ जनमु न हारीऐ ॥
Anāth ke nāthe sarab kai sāthe jap jū▫ai janam na hārī▫ai.
By meditating on the Patron of the patron-less and the Comrade of all the life is not wasted away in gamble.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਾਰੀਐ ॥੨॥
नानक की बेनंती प्रभ पहि क्रिपा करि भवजलु तारीऐ ॥२॥
Nānak kī benanṯī parabẖ pėh kirpā kar bẖavjal ṯārī▫ai. ||2||
Nanak, supplicates unto the Master to mercifully make him swim across the dreadful world-ocean.

ਧੂੜੀ ਮਜਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਖੇ ਸਾਈ ਥੀਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
धूड़ी मजनु साध खे साई थीए क्रिपाल ॥
Ḏẖūṛī majan sāḏẖ kẖe sā▫ī thī▫e kirpāl.
When the Lord becomes merciful, man bathes in the dust of the feet of the saints.

ਲਧੇ ਹਭੇ ਥੋਕੜੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲ ॥੧॥
लधे हभे थोकड़े नानक हरि धनु माल ॥१॥
Laḏẖe habẖe thokṛe Nānak har ḏẖan māl. ||1||
Nanak has obtained all the articles as God is his wealth and property.

सुंदर सुआमी धाम भगतह बिस्राम आसा लगि जीवते जीउ ॥
Sunḏar su▫āmī ḏẖām bẖagṯah bisrām āsā lag jīvṯe jī▫o.
Beautiful is Lord's abode. It is the resting place of His slaves, who live in the hope of getting at it.1

ਮਨਿ ਤਨੇ ਗਲਤਾਨ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਤੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
मनि तने गलतान सिमरत प्रभ नाम हरि अम्रितु पीवते जीउ ॥
Man ṯane galṯān simraṯ parabẖ nām har amriṯ pīvṯe jī▫o.
Their mind's and bodies are absorbed in the meditation of the Lord's Name, and they quaff God's elixir.
