ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਸਭ ਭਵਿ ਥਕੀ ਕਿਨਿ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਹੋਈ
जुग चारे सभ भवि थकी किनि कीमति होई ॥
Jug cẖāre sabẖ bẖav thakī kin kīmaṯ ho▫ī.
All have grown weary of wandering throughout the four ages, but none know the Lord's worth.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ
सतिगुरि एकु विखालिआ मनि तनि सुखु होई ॥
Saṯgur ek vikẖāli▫ā man ṯan sukẖ ho▫ī.
The True Guru has shown me the One Lord, and my mind and body are at peace.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੭॥
गुरमुखि सदा सलाहीऐ करता करे सु होई ॥७॥
Gurmukẖ saḏā salāhī▫ai karṯā kare so ho▫ī. ||7||
The Gurmukh praises the Lord forever; that alone happens, which the Creator Lord does. ||7||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਹਲਾ
सलोक महला २ ॥
Salok mėhlā 2.
Shalok, Second Mehl:

ਜਿਨਾ ਭਉ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਨਾਹਿ ਭਉ ਮੁਚੁ ਭਉ ਨਿਭਵਿਆਹ
जिना भउ तिन्ह नाहि भउ मुचु भउ निभविआह ॥
Jinā bẖa▫o ṯinĥ nāhi bẖa▫o mucẖ bẖa▫o nibẖvi▫āh.
Those who have the Fear of God, have no other fears; those who do not have the Fear of God, are very afraid.

ਨਾਨਕ ਏਹੁ ਪਟੰਤਰਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਦੀਬਾਣਿ ਗਇਆਹ ॥੧॥
नानक एहु पटंतरा तितु दीबाणि गइआह ॥१॥
Nānak ehu patanṯarā ṯiṯ ḏībāṇ ga▫i▫āh. ||1||
O Nanak, this mystery is revealed at the Court of the Lord. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः २ ॥
Mėhlā 2.
Second Mehl:

ਤੁਰਦੇ ਕਉ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਉਡਤੇ ਕਉ ਉਡਤਾ
तुरदे कउ तुरदा मिलै उडते कउ उडता ॥
Ŧurḏe ka▫o ṯurḏā milai udṯe ka▫o udṯā.
That which flows, mingles with that which flows; that which blows, mingles with that which blows.

ਜੀਵਤੇ ਕਉ ਜੀਵਤਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੂਏ ਕਉ ਮੂਆ
जीवते कउ जीवता मिलै मूए कउ मूआ ॥
Jīvṯe ka▫o jīvṯā milai mū▫e ka▫o mū▫ā.
The living mingle with the living, and the dead mingle with the dead.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕੀਆ ॥੨॥
नानक सो सालाहीऐ जिनि कारणु कीआ ॥२॥
Nānak so salāhī▫ai jin kāraṇ kī▫ā. ||2||
O Nanak, praise the One who created the creation. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ
सचु धिआइनि से सचे गुर सबदि वीचारी ॥
Sacẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫in se sacẖe gur sabaḏ vīcẖārī.
Those who meditate on the True Lord are true; they contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ
हउमै मारि मनु निरमला हरि नामु उरि धारी ॥
Ha▫umai mār man nirmalā har nām ur ḏẖārī.
They subdue their ego, purify their minds, and enshrine the Lord's Name within their hearts.

ਕੋਠੇ ਮੰਡਪ ਮਾੜੀਆ ਲਗਿ ਪਏ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ
कोठे मंडप माड़ीआ लगि पए गावारी ॥
Koṯẖe mandap māṛī▫ā lag pa▫e gāvārī.
The fools are attached to their homes, mansions and balconies.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਕੀਏ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਜਾਣਨੀ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਬਾਰੀ
जिन्हि कीए तिसहि न जाणनी मनमुखि गुबारी ॥
Jiniĥ kī▫e ṯisėh na jāṇnī manmukẖ gubārī.
The self-willed manmukhs are caught in darkness; they do not know the One who created them.

ਜਿਸੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਹਿ ਸੋ ਬੁਝਸੀ ਸਚਿਆ ਕਿਆ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੮॥
जिसु बुझाइहि सो बुझसी सचिआ किआ जंत विचारी ॥८॥
Jis bujẖā▫ihi so bujẖsī sacẖi▫ā ki▫ā janṯ vicẖārī. ||8||
He alone understands, whom the True Lord causes to understand; what can the helpless creatures do? ||8||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਕਾਮਣਿ ਤਉ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੰਤੁ ਮਨਾਇ
कामणि तउ सीगारु करि जा पहिलां कंतु मनाइ ॥
Kāmaṇ ṯa▫o sīgār kar jā pahilāʼn kanṯ manā▫e.
O bride, decorate yourself, after you surrender and accept your Husband Lord.

ਮਤੁ ਸੇਜੈ ਕੰਤੁ ਆਵਈ ਏਵੈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ
मतु सेजै कंतु न आवई एवै बिरथा जाइ ॥
Maṯ sejai kanṯ na āvī evai birthā jā▫e.
Otherwise, your Husband Lord will not come to your bed, and your ornaments will be useless.

ਕਾਮਣਿ ਪਿਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਬਣਿਆ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ
कामणि पिर मनु मानिआ तउ बणिआ सीगारु ॥
Kāmaṇ pir man māni▫ā ṯa▫o baṇi▫ā sīgār.
O bride, your decorations will adorn you, only when your Husband Lord's Mind is pleased.

ਕੀਆ ਤਉ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਸਹੁ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ
कीआ तउ परवाणु है जा सहु धरे पिआरु ॥
Kī▫ā ṯa▫o parvāṇ hai jā saho ḏẖare pi▫ār.
Your ornaments will be acceptable and approved, only when your Husband Lord loves you.

ਭਉ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਤਬੋਲ ਰਸੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਕਰੇਇ
भउ सीगारु तबोल रसु भोजनु भाउ करेइ ॥
Bẖa▫o sīgār ṯabol ras bẖojan bẖā▫o kare▫i.
So make the Fear of God your ornaments, joy your betel nuts to chew, and love your food.

ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਉਪੇ ਕੰਤ ਕਉ ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੋਗੁ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੧॥
तनु मनु सउपे कंत कउ तउ नानक भोगु करेइ ॥१॥
Ŧan man sa▫upe kanṯ ka▫o ṯa▫o Nānak bẖog kare▫i. ||1||
Surrender your body and mind to your Husband Lord, and then, O Nanak, He will enjoy you. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਕਾਜਲ ਫੂਲ ਤੰਬੋਲ ਰਸੁ ਲੇ ਧਨ ਕੀਆ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ
काजल फूल त्मबोल रसु ले धन कीआ सीगारु ॥
Kājal fūl ṯambol ras le ḏẖan kī▫ā sīgār.
The wife takes flowers, and fragrance of betel, and decorates herself.

ਸੇਜੈ ਕੰਤੁ ਆਇਓ ਏਵੈ ਭਇਆ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
सेजै कंतु न आइओ एवै भइआ विकारु ॥२॥
Sejai kanṯ na ā▫i▫o evai bẖa▫i▫ā vikār. ||2||
But her Husband Lord does not come to her bed, and so these efforts are useless. ||2||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਧਨ ਪਿਰੁ ਏਹਿ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ ਬਹਨਿ ਇਕਠੇ ਹੋਇ
धन पिरु एहि न आखीअनि बहनि इकठे होइ ॥
Ḏẖan pir ehi na ākẖī▫an bahan ikṯẖe ho▫e.
They are not said to be husband and wife, who merely sit together.

ਏਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਧਨ ਪਿਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
एक जोति दुइ मूरती धन पिरु कहीऐ सोइ ॥३॥
Ėk joṯ ḏu▫e mūrṯī ḏẖan pir kahī▫ai so▫e. ||3||
They alone are called husband and wife, who have one light in two bodies. ||3||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਭੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ
भै बिनु भगति न होवई नामि न लगै पिआरु ॥
Bẖai bin bẖagaṯ na hova▫ī nām na lagai pi▫ār.
Without the Fear of God, there is no devotional worship, and no love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਭਉ ਊਪਜੈ ਭੈ ਭਾਇ ਰੰਗੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ
सतिगुरि मिलिऐ भउ ऊपजै भै भाइ रंगु सवारि ॥
Saṯgur mili▫ai bẖa▫o ūpjai bẖai bẖā▫e rang savār.
Meeting with the True Guru, the Fear of God wells up, and one is embellished with the Fear and the Love of God.

ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਤਾ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਰਿ
तनु मनु रता रंग सिउ हउमै त्रिसना मारि ॥
Ŧan man raṯā rang si▫o ha▫umai ṯarisnā mār.
When the body and mind are imbued with the Lord's Love, egotism and desire are conquered and subdued.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ
मनु तनु निरमलु अति सोहणा भेटिआ क्रिसन मुरारि ॥
Man ṯan nirmal aṯ sohṇā bẖeti▫ā krisan murār.
The mind and body become immaculately pure and very beautiful, when one meets the Lord, the Destroyer of ego.

ਭਉ ਭਾਉ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਦਾ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥੯॥
भउ भाउ सभु तिस दा सो सचु वरतै संसारि ॥९॥
Bẖa▫o bẖā▫o sabẖ ṯis ḏā so sacẖ varṯai sansār. ||9||
Fear and love all belong to Him; He is the True Lord, permeating and pervading the Universe. ||9||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः १ ॥
Salok mėhlā 1.
Shalok, First Mehl:

ਵਾਹੁ ਖਸਮ ਤੂ ਵਾਹੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਚਿ ਰਚਨਾ ਹਮ ਕੀਏ
वाहु खसम तू वाहु जिनि रचि रचना हम कीए ॥
vāhu kẖasam ṯū vāhu jin racẖ racẖnā ham kī▫e.
Waaho! Waaho! You are wonderful and great, O Lord and Master; You created the creation, and made us.

ਸਾਗਰ ਲਹਰਿ ਸਮੁੰਦ ਸਰ ਵੇਲਿ ਵਰਸ ਵਰਾਹੁ
सागर लहरि समुंद सर वेलि वरस वराहु ॥
Sāgar lahar samunḏ sar vel varas varāhu.
You made the waters, waves, oceans, pools, plants, clouds and mountains.

ਆਪਿ ਖੜੋਵਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਿ ਆਪੀਣੈ ਆਪਾਹੁ
आपि खड़ोवहि आपि करि आपीणै आपाहु ॥
Āp kẖaṛovėh āp kar āpīṇai āpāhu.
You Yourself stand in the midst of what You Yourself created.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਥਾਇ ਪਵੈ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਤਤੁ ਕਮਾਹੁ
गुरमुखि सेवा थाइ पवै उनमनि ततु कमाहु ॥
Gurmukẖ sevā thā▫e pavai unman ṯaṯ kamāhu.
The selfless service of the Gurmukhs is approved; in celestial peace, they live the essence of reality.

ਮਸਕਤਿ ਲਹਹੁ ਮਜੂਰੀਆ ਮੰਗਿ ਮੰਗਿ ਖਸਮ ਦਰਾਹੁ
मसकति लहहु मजूरीआ मंगि मंगि खसम दराहु ॥
Maskaṯ lahhu majūrī▫ā mang mang kẖasam ḏarāhu.
They receive the wages of their labor, begging at the Door of their Lord and Master.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪੁਰ ਦਰ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹ ਤਉ ਦਰਿ ਊਣਾ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋ ਸਚਾ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ॥੧॥
नानक पुर दर वेपरवाह तउ दरि ऊणा नाहि को सचा वेपरवाहु ॥१॥
Nānak pur ḏar veparvāh ṯa▫o ḏar ūṇā nāhi ko sacẖā veparvāhu. ||1||
O Nanak, the Court of the Lord is overflowing and carefree; O my True Carefree Lord, no one returns empty-handed from Your Court. ||1||

ਮਹਲਾ
महला १ ॥
Mėhlā 1.
First Mehl:

ਉਜਲ ਮੋਤੀ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਤਨਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਜੁੜੰਨਿ
उजल मोती सोहणे रतना नालि जुड़ंनि ॥
Ujal moṯī sohṇe raṯnā nāl juṛann.
The teeth are like brilliant, beautiful pearls, and the eyes are like sparkling jewels.

ਤਿਨ ਜਰੁ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿ ਬੁਢੇ ਥੀਇ ਮਰੰਨਿ ॥੨॥
तिन जरु वैरी नानका जि बुढे थीइ मरंनि ॥२॥
Ŧin jar vairī nānkā jė budẖe thī▫e marann. ||2||
Old age is their enemy, O Nanak; when they grow old, they waste away. ||2||
