ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ ਸਚੇ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਓਥੈ ਕੂੜੇ ਨਾ ਟਿਕੰਨਿ ॥
सचा साहु सचे वणजारे ओथै कूड़े ना टिकंनि ॥
Sacẖā sāhu sacẖe vaṇjāre othai kūṛe na tikann.
True is the Banker, and True are His traders. The false ones cannot remain there.

ਓਨਾ ਸਚੁ ਨ ਭਾਵਈ ਦੁਖ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਪਚੰਨਿ ॥੧੮॥
ओना सचु न भावई दुख ही माहि पचंनि ॥१८॥
Onā sacẖ na bẖāv▫ī ḏukẖ hī māhi pacẖann. ||18||
They do not love the Truth - they are consumed by their pain. ||18||
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲਾ ਜਗੁ ਫਿਰੈ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥
हउमै मैला जगु फिरै मरि जमै वारो वार ॥
Ha▫umai mailā jag firai mar jammai vāro vār.
The world wanders around in the filth of egotism; it dies, and is re-born, over and again.

ਪਇਐ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰ ॥੧੯॥
पइऐ किरति कमावणा कोइ न मेटणहार ॥१९॥
Pa▫i▫ai kiraṯ kamāvaṇā ko▫e na metaṇhār. ||19||
He acts in accordance with the karma of his past actions, which no one can erase. ||19||
|
ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਤਾ ਸਚਿ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
संता संगति मिलि रहै ता सचि लगै पिआरु ॥
Sanṯā sangaṯ mil rahai ṯā sacẖ lagai pi▫ār.
But if he joins the Society of the Saints, then he comes to embrace love for the Truth.

ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚਿਆਰੁ ॥੨੦॥
सचु सलाही सचु मनि दरि सचै सचिआरु ॥२०॥
Sacẖ salāhī sacẖ man ḏar sacẖai sacẖiār. ||20||
Praising the True Lord with a truthful mind, he becomes true in the Court of the True Lord. ||20||

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਹੈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
गुर पूरे पूरी मति है अहिनिसि नामु धिआइ ॥
Gur pūre pūrī maṯ hai ahinis nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e.
The Teachings of the Perfect Guru are perfect; meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, day and night.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਡ ਰੋਗੁ ਹੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਇ ॥੨੧॥
हउमै मेरा वड रोगु है विचहु ठाकि रहाइ ॥२१॥
Ha▫umai merā vad rog hai vicẖahu ṯẖāk rahā▫e. ||21||
Egotism and self-conceit are terrible diseases; tranquility and stillness come from within. ||21||

ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਇ ॥
गुरु सालाही आपणा निवि निवि लागा पाइ ॥
Gur sālāhī āpṇā niv niv lāgā pā▫e.
I praise my Guru; bowing down to Him again and again, I fall at His Feet.

ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਉਪੀ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੨੨॥
तनु मनु सउपी आगै धरी विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥२२॥
Ŧan man sa▫upī āgai ḏẖarī vicẖahu āp gavā▫e. ||22||
I place my body and mind in offering unto Him, eradicating self-conceit from within. ||22||

ਖਿੰਚੋਤਾਣਿ ਵਿਗੁਚੀਐ ਏਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
खिंचोताणि विगुचीऐ एकसु सिउ लिव लाइ ॥
Kẖincẖoṯāṇ vigucẖī▫ai ekas si▫o liv lā▫e.
Indecision leads to ruin; focus your attention on the One Lord.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਛਡਿ ਤੂ ਤਾ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨੩॥
हउमै मेरा छडि तू ता सचि रहै समाइ ॥२३॥
Ha▫umai merā cẖẖad ṯū ṯā sacẖ rahai samā▫e. ||23||
Renounce egotism and self-conceit, and remain merged in Truth. ||23||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੋ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਿ ਭਾਇਰਾ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਗੰਨਿ ॥
सतिगुर नो मिले सि भाइरा सचै सबदि लगंनि ॥
Saṯgur no mile sė bẖā▫irā sacẖai sabaḏ lagann.
Those who meet with the True Guru are my Siblings of Destiny; they are committed to the True Word of the Shabad.

ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਦਿਸੰਨਿ ॥੨੪॥
सचि मिले से न विछुड़हि दरि सचै दिसंनि ॥२४॥
Sacẖ mile se na vicẖẖuṛėh ḏar sacẖai ḏisann. ||24||
Those who merge with the True Lord shall not be separated again; they are judged to be True in the Court of the Lord. ||24||
|
ਸੇ ਭਾਈ ਸੇ ਸਜਣਾ ਜੋ ਸਚਾ ਸੇਵੰਨਿ ॥
से भाई से सजणा जो सचा सेवंनि ॥
Se bẖā▫ī se sajṇā jo sacẖā sevann.
They are my Siblings of Destiny, and they are my friends, who serve the True Lord.

ਅਵਗਣ ਵਿਕਣਿ ਪਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਰਨਿ ਗੁਣ ਕੀ ਸਾਝ ਕਰੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ॥੨੫॥
अवगण विकणि पल्हरनि गुण की साझ करंन्हि ॥२५॥
Avgaṇ vikaṇ pulĥran guṇ kī sājẖ karaʼnniĥ. ||25||
They sell off their sins and demerits like straw, and enter into the partnership of virtue. ||25||
|
ਗੁਣ ਕੀ ਸਾਝ ਸੁਖੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਸਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇਨਿ ॥
गुण की साझ सुखु ऊपजै सची भगति करेनि ॥
Guṇ kī sājẖ sukẖ ūpjai sacẖī bẖagaṯ karen.
In the partnership of virtue, peace wells up, and they perform true devotional worship service.

ਸਚੁ ਵਣੰਜਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਹਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਏਨਿ ॥੨੬॥
सचु वणंजहि गुर सबद सिउ लाहा नामु लएनि ॥२६॥
Sacẖ vaṇaʼnjahi gur sabaḏ si▫o lāhā nām la▫en. ||26||
They deal in Truth, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and they earn the profit of the Naam. ||26||
|
ਸੁਇਨਾ ਰੁਪਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਚੀਐ ਚਲੈ ਨ ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
सुइना रुपा पाप करि करि संचीऐ चलै न चलदिआ नालि ॥
Su▫inā rupā pāp kar kar sancẖī▫ai cẖalai na cẖalḏi▫ā nāl.
Gold and silver may be earned by committing sins, but they will not go with you when you die.

ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਚਲਸੀ ਸਭ ਮੁਠੀ ਜਮਕਾਲਿ ॥੨੭॥
विणु नावै नालि न चलसी सभ मुठी जमकालि ॥२७॥
viṇ nāvai nāl na cẖalsī sabẖ muṯẖī jamkāl. ||27||
Nothing will go with you in the end, except the Name; all are plundered by the Messenger of Death. ||27||

ਮਨ ਕਾ ਤੋਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਖਹੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ॥
मन का तोसा हरि नामु है हिरदै रखहु सम्हालि ॥
Man kā ṯosā har nām hai hirḏai rakẖahu samĥāl.
The Lord's Name is the nourishment of the mind; cherish it, and preserve it carefully within your heart.

ਏਹੁ ਖਰਚੁ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੨੮॥
एहु खरचु अखुटु है गुरमुखि निबहै नालि ॥२८॥
Ėhu kẖaracẖ akẖut hai gurmukẖ nibhai nāl. ||28||
This nourishment is inexhaustible; it is always with the Gurmukhs. ||28||
|
ਏ ਮਨ ਮੂਲਹੁ ਭੁਲਿਆ ਜਾਸਹਿ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
ए मन मूलहु भुलिआ जासहि पति गवाइ ॥
Ė man mūlhu bẖuli▫ā jāsėh paṯ gavā▫e.
O mind, if you forget the Primal Lord, you shall depart, having lost your honor.
|
ਇਹੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੨੯॥
इहु जगतु मोहि दूजै विआपिआ गुरमती सचु धिआइ ॥२९॥
Ih jagaṯ mohi ḏūjai vi▫āpi▫ā gurmaṯī sacẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫e. ||29||
This world is engrossed in the love of duality; follow the Guru's Teachings, and meditate on the True Lord. ||29||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਲਿਖਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
हरि की कीमति ना पवै हरि जसु लिखणु न जाइ ॥
Har kī kīmaṯ na pavai har jas likẖaṇ na jā▫e.
The Lord's value cannot be estimated; the Lord's Praises cannot be written down.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩੦॥
गुर कै सबदि मनु तनु रपै हरि सिउ रहै समाइ ॥३०॥
Gur kai sabaḏ man ṯan rapai har si▫o rahai samā▫e. ||30||
When one's mind and body are attuned to the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one remains merged in the Lord. ||30||

ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਰੰਗੁਲਾ ਰੰਗੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
सो सहु मेरा रंगुला रंगे सहजि सुभाइ ॥
So saho merā rangulā range sahj subẖā▫e.
My Husband Lord is playful; He has imbued me with His Love, with natural ease.

ਕਾਮਣਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਤਾ ਚੜੈ ਜਾ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩੧॥
कामणि रंगु ता चड़ै जा पिर कै अंकि समाइ ॥३१॥
Kāmaṇ rang ṯā cẖaṛai jā pir kai ank samā▫e. ||31||
The soul-bride is imbued with His Love, when her Husband Lord merges her into His Being. ||31||
|
ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨੇ ਭੀ ਮਿਲਨਿ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੰਨਿ ॥
चिरी विछुंने भी मिलनि जो सतिगुरु सेवंनि ॥
Cẖirī vicẖẖune bẖī milan jo saṯgur sevann.
Even those who have been separated for so very long, are reunited with Him, when they serve the True Guru.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਖਾਨਿ ਖਰਚਨਿ ਨ ਨਿਖੁਟਈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਹਜਿ ਰਵੰਨਿ ॥੩੨॥
अंतरि नव निधि नामु है खानि खरचनि न निखुटई हरि गुण सहजि रवंनि ॥३२॥
Anṯar nav niḏẖ nām hai kẖān kẖarcẖan na nikẖuta▫ī har guṇ sahj ravann. ||32||
The nine treasures of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, are deep within the nucleus of the self; consuming them, they are still never exhausted. Chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord, with natural ease. ||32||
|
ਨਾ ਓਇ ਜਨਮਹਿ ਨਾ ਮਰਹਿ ਨਾ ਓਇ ਦੁਖ ਸਹੰਨਿ ॥
ना ओइ जनमहि ना मरहि ना ओइ दुख सहंनि ॥
Nā o▫e janmėh nā marėh nā o▫e ḏukẖ sahann.
They are not born, and they do not die; they do not suffer in pain.

ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੰਨਿ ॥੩੩॥
गुरि राखे से उबरे हरि सिउ केल करंनि ॥३३॥
Gur rākẖe se ubre har si▫o kel karann. ||33||
Those who are protected by the Guru are saved. They celebrate with the Lord. ||33||
|
ਸਜਣ ਮਿਲੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਜਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਮਿਲੇ ਰਹੰਨਿ ॥
सजण मिले न विछुड़हि जि अनदिनु मिले रहंनि ॥
Sajaṇ mile na vicẖẖuṛėh jė an▫ḏin mile rahann.
Those who are united with the Lord, the True Friend, are not separated again; night and day, they remain blended with Him.

ਇਸੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਜਾਣੀਅਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਲਹੰਨਿ ॥੩੪॥੧॥੩॥
इसु जग महि विरले जाणीअहि नानक सचु लहंनि ॥३४॥१॥३॥
Is jag mėh virle jāṇī▫ahi Nānak sacẖ lahann. ||34||1||3||
In this world, only a rare few are known, O Nanak, to have obtained the True Lord. ||34||1||3||

ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਸੂਖਮੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਹੈ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
हरि जी सूखमु अगमु है कितु बिधि मिलिआ जाइ ॥
Har jī sūkẖam agam hai kiṯ biḏẖ mili▫ā jā▫e.
The Dear Lord is subtle and inaccessible; how can we ever meet Him?

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥
गुर कै सबदि भ्रमु कटीऐ अचिंतु वसै मनि आइ ॥१॥
Gur kai sabaḏ bẖaram katī▫ai acẖinṯ vasai man ā▫e. ||1||
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, doubt is dispelled, and the Carefree Lord comes to abide in the mind. ||1||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੰਨਿ ॥
गुरमुखि हरि हरि नामु जपंनि ॥
Gurmukẖ har har nām japann.
The Gurmukhs chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
