ਆਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ॥੫॥
आपे थापि उथापि सबदि निवाजिआ ॥५॥
Āpe thāp uthāp sabaḏ nivāji▫ā. ||5||
You Yourself establish and disestablish; through the Word of Your Shabad, You elevate and exalt. ||5||

ਦੇਹੀ ਭਸਮ ਰੁਲਾਇ ਜਾਪੀ ਕਹ ਗਇਆ
देही भसम रुलाइ न जापी कह गइआ ॥
Ḏehī bẖasam rulā▫e na jāpī kah ga▫i▫ā.
When the body rolls in the dust, it is not known where the soul has gone.

ਆਪੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ਸੋ ਵਿਸਮਾਦੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੬॥
आपे रहिआ समाइ सो विसमादु भइआ ॥६॥
Āpe rahi▫ā samā▫e so vismāḏ bẖa▫i▫ā. ||6||
He Himself is permeating and pervading; this is wonderful and amazing! ||6||

ਤੂੰ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੂਰਿ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਭ ਤੂ ਹੈ
तूं नाही प्रभ दूरि जाणहि सभ तू है ॥
Ŧūʼn nāhī parabẖ ḏūr jāṇėh sabẖ ṯū hai.
You are not far away, God; You know everything.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭੀ ਤੂ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
गुरमुखि वेखि हदूरि अंतरि भी तू है ॥७॥
Gurmukẖ vekẖ haḏūr anṯar bẖī ṯū hai. ||7||
The Gurmukh sees You ever-present; You are deep within the nucleus of our inner self. ||7||

ਮੈ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ
मै दीजै नाम निवासु अंतरि सांति होइ ॥
Mai ḏījai nām nivās anṯar sāʼnṯ ho▫e.
Please, bless me with a home in Your Name; may my inner self be at peace.

ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਇ ॥੮॥੩॥੫॥
गुण गावै नानक दासु सतिगुरु मति देइ ॥८॥३॥५॥
Guṇ gāvai Nānak ḏās saṯgur maṯ ḏe▫e. ||8||3||5||
May slave Nanak sing Your Glorious Praises; O True Guru, please share the Teachings with me. ||8||3||5||

Rāg sūhī mėhlā 3 gẖar 1 asatpaḏī▫ā
Raag Soohee, Third Mehl, First House, Ashtapadees:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਨਾਮੈ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾਪੈ
नामै ही ते सभु किछु होआ बिनु सतिगुर नामु न जापै ॥
Nāmai hī ṯe sabẖ kicẖẖ ho▫ā bin saṯgur nām na jāpai.
Everything comes from the Naam, the Name of the Lord; without the True Guru, the Naam is not experienced.

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਚਾਖੇ ਸਾਦੁ ਜਾਪੈ
गुर का सबदु महा रसु मीठा बिनु चाखे सादु न जापै ॥
Gur kā sabaḏ mahā ras mīṯẖā bin cẖākẖe sāḏ na jāpai.
The Word of the Guru's Shabad is the sweetest and most sublime essence, but without tasting it, its flavor cannot be experienced.

ਕਉਡੀ ਬਦਲੈ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਚੀਨਸਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਆਪੈ
कउडी बदलै जनमु गवाइआ चीनसि नाही आपै ॥
Ka▫udī baḏlai janam gavā▫i▫ā cẖīnas nāhī āpai.
He wastes this human life in exchange for a mere shell; he does not understand his own self.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਾ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੰਤਾਪੈ ॥੧॥
गुरमुखि होवै ता एको जाणै हउमै दुखु न संतापै ॥१॥
Gurmukẖ hovai ṯā eko jāṇai ha▫umai ḏukẖ na sanṯāpai. ||1||
But, if he becomes Gurmukh, then he comes to know the One Lord, and the disease of egotism does not afflict him. ||1||

ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਅਪਣੇ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ
बलिहारी गुर अपणे विटहु जिनि साचे सिउ लिव लाई ॥
Balihārī gur apṇe vitahu jin sācẖe si▫o liv lā▫ī.
I am a sacrifice to my Guru, who has lovingly attached me to the True Lord.

ਸਬਦੁ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਆਤਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
सबदु चीन्हि आतमु परगासिआ सहजे रहिआ समाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sabaḏ cẖīnėh āṯam pargāsi▫ā sėhje rahi▫ā samā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Concentrating on the Word of the Shabad, the soul is illumined and enlightened. I remain absorbed in celestial ecstasy. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ
गुरमुखि गावै गुरमुखि बूझै गुरमुखि सबदु बीचारे ॥
Gurmukẖ gāvai gurmukẖ būjẖai gurmukẖ sabaḏ bīcẖāre.
The Gurmukh sings the Praises of the Lord; the Gurmukh understands. The Gurmukh contemplates the Word of the Shabad.

ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ
जीउ पिंडु सभु गुर ते उपजै गुरमुखि कारज सवारे ॥
Jī▫o pind sabẖ gur ṯe upjai gurmukẖ kāraj savāre.
Body and soul are totally rejuvenated through the Guru; the Gurmukh's affairs are resolved in his favor.

ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਧਾ ਅੰਧੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਟੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ
मनमुखि अंधा अंधु कमावै बिखु खटे संसारे ॥
Manmukẖ anḏẖā anḏẖ kamāvai bikẖ kẖate sansāre.
The blind self-willed manmukh acts blindly, and earns only poison in this world.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਅਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੨॥
माइआ मोहि सदा दुखु पाए बिनु गुर अति पिआरे ॥२॥
Mā▫i▫ā mohi saḏā ḏukẖ pā▫e bin gur aṯ pi▫āre. ||2||
Enticed by Maya, he suffers in constant pain, without the most Beloved Guru. ||2||

ਸੋਈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਚਾਲੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ
सोई सेवकु जे सतिगुर सेवे चालै सतिगुर भाए ॥
So▫ī sevak je saṯgur seve cẖālai saṯgur bẖā▫e.
He alone is a selfless servant, who serves the True Guru, and walks in harmony with the True Guru's Will.

ਸਾਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਹੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ
साचा सबदु सिफति है साची साचा मंनि वसाए ॥
Sācẖā sabaḏ sifaṯ hai sācẖī sācẖā man vasā▫e.
The True Shabad, the Word of God, is the True Praise of God; enshrine the True Lord within your mind.

ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਖੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਏ
सची बाणी गुरमुखि आखै हउमै विचहु जाए ॥
Sacẖī baṇī gurmukẖ ākẖai ha▫umai vicẖahu jā▫e.
The Gurmukh speaks the True Word of Gurbani, and egotism departs from within.

ਆਪੇ ਦਾਤਾ ਕਰਮੁ ਹੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥੩॥
आपे दाता करमु है साचा साचा सबदु सुणाए ॥३॥
Āpe ḏāṯā karam hai sācẖā sācẖā sabaḏ suṇā▫e. ||3||
He Himself is the Giver, and True are His actions. He proclaims the True Word of the Shabad. ||3||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਘਾਲੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖਟੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਏ
गुरमुखि घाले गुरमुखि खटे गुरमुखि नामु जपाए ॥
Gurmukẖ gẖāle gurmukẖ kẖate gurmukẖ nām japā▫e.
The Gurmukh works, and the Gurmukh earns; the Gurmukh inspires others to chant the Naam.

ਸਦਾ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ
सदा अलिपतु साचै रंगि राता गुर कै सहजि सुभाए ॥
Saḏā alipaṯ sācẖai rang rāṯā gur kai sahj subẖā▫e.
He is forever unattached, imbued with the Love of the True Lord, intuitively in harmony with the Guru.

ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਕੂੜੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਬੀਜੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਏ
मनमुखु सद ही कूड़ो बोलै बिखु बीजै बिखु खाए ॥
Manmukẖ saḏ hī kūṛo bolai bikẖ bījai bikẖ kẖā▫e.
The self-willed manmukh always tells lies; he plants the seeds of poison, and eats only poison.

ਜਮਕਾਲਿ ਬਾਧਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਦਾਧਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਵਣੁ ਛਡਾਏ ॥੪॥
जमकालि बाधा त्रिसना दाधा बिनु गुर कवणु छडाए ॥४॥
Jamkāl bāḏẖā ṯarisnā ḏāḏẖā bin gur kavaṇ cẖẖadā▫e. ||4||
He is bound and gagged by the Messenger of Death, and burnt in the fire of desire; who can save him, except the Guru? ||4||

ਸਚਾ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਤ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਵਣੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ
सचा तीरथु जितु सत सरि नावणु गुरमुखि आपि बुझाए ॥
Sacẖā ṯirath jiṯ saṯ sar nāvaṇ gurmukẖ āp bujẖā▫e.
True is that place of pilgrimage, where one bathes in the pool of Truth, and achieves self-realization as Gurmukh. The Gurmukh understands his own self.

ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਦਿਖਾਏ ਤਿਤੁ ਨਾਤੈ ਮਲੁ ਜਾਏ
अठसठि तीरथ गुर सबदि दिखाए तितु नातै मलु जाए ॥
Aṯẖsaṯẖ ṯirath gur sabaḏ ḏikẖā▫e ṯiṯ nāṯai mal jā▫e.
The Lord has shown that the Word of the Guru's Shabad is the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage; bathing in it, filth is washed away.

ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਾ ਮਲੁ ਲਗੈ ਲਾਏ
सचा सबदु सचा है निरमलु ना मलु लगै न लाए ॥
Sacẖā sabaḏ sacẖā hai nirmal nā mal lagai na lā▫e.
True and Immaculate is the True Word of His Shabad; no filth touches or clings to Him.

ਸਚੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਚੀ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ॥੫॥
सची सिफति सची सालाह पूरे गुर ते पाए ॥५॥
Sacẖī sifaṯ sacẖī sālāh pūre gur ṯe pā▫e. ||5||
True Praise, True Devotional Praise, is obtained from the Perfect Guru. ||5||

ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੇਰਾ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਜਾਏ
तनु मनु सभु किछु हरि तिसु केरा दुरमति कहणु न जाए ॥
Ŧan man sabẖ kicẖẖ har ṯis kerā ḏurmaṯ kahaṇ na jā▫e.
Body, mind, everything belongs to the Lord; but the evil-minded ones cannot even say this.

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਾ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਏ
हुकमु होवै ता निरमलु होवै हउमै विचहु जाए ॥
Hukam hovai ṯā nirmal hovai ha▫umai vicẖahu jā▫e.
If such is the Hukam of the Lord's Command, then one becomes pure and spotless, and the ego is taken away from within.

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਚਾਖੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ
गुर की साखी सहजे चाखी त्रिसना अगनि बुझाए ॥
Gur kī sākẖī sėhje cẖākẖī ṯarisnā agan bujẖā▫e.
I have intuitively tasted the Guru's Teachings, and the fire of my desire has been quenched.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੬॥
गुर कै सबदि राता सहजे माता सहजे रहिआ समाए ॥६॥
Gur kai sabaḏ rāṯā sėhje māṯā sėhje rahi▫ā samā▫e. ||6||
Attuned to the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one is naturally intoxicated, merging imperceptibly into the Lord. ||6||
