ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ਸਾਧੀ ॥੧॥
करणहार की सेव न साधी ॥१॥
Karanhār kī sev na sāḏẖī. ||1||
He has not performed any service to the Creator Lord. ||1||

ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਮ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ
पतित पावन प्रभ नाम तुमारे ॥
Paṯiṯ pāvan parabẖ nām ṯumāre.
O God, Your Name is the Purifier of sinners.

ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੀਆਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
राखि लेहु मोहि निरगुनीआरे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Rākẖ leho mohi nirgunī▫āre. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I am worthless - please save me! ||1||Pause||

ਤੂੰ ਦਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ
तूं दाता प्रभ अंतरजामी ॥
Ŧūʼn ḏāṯā parabẖ anṯarjāmī.
O God, You are the Great Giver, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.

ਕਾਚੀ ਦੇਹ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
काची देह मानुख अभिमानी ॥२॥
Kācẖī ḏeh mānukẖ abẖimānī. ||2||
The body of the egotistical human is perishable. ||2||

ਸੁਆਦ ਬਾਦ ਈਰਖ ਮਦ ਮਾਇਆ
सुआद बाद ईरख मद माइआ ॥
Su▫āḏ bāḏ īrakẖ maḏ mā▫i▫ā.
Tastes and pleasures, conflicts and jealousy, and intoxication with Maya -

ਇਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਤਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
इन संगि लागि रतन जनमु गवाइआ ॥३॥
In sang lāg raṯan janam gavā▫i▫ā. ||3||
attached to these, the jewel of human life is wasted. ||3||

ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ
दुख भंजन जगजीवन हरि राइआ ॥
Ḏukẖ bẖanjan jagjīvan har rā▫i▫ā.
The Sovereign Lord King is the Destroyer of pain, the Life of the world.

ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਰਣਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੧੯॥
सगल तिआगि नानकु सरणाइआ ॥४॥१३॥१९॥
Sagal ṯi▫āg Nānak sarṇā▫i▫ā. ||4||13||19||
Forsaking everything, Nanak has entered His Sanctuary. ||4||13||19||

ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ
सूही महला ५ ॥
Sūhī mėhlā 5.
Soohee, Fifth Mehl:

ਪੇਖਤ ਚਾਖਤ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਅੰਧਾ ਸੁਨੀਅਤ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਨਾਹੀ
पेखत चाखत कहीअत अंधा सुनीअत सुनीऐ नाही ॥
Pekẖaṯ cẖākẖaṯ kahī▫aṯ anḏẖā sunī▫aṯ sunī▫ai nāhī.
He sees with his eyes, but he is called blind; he hears, but he does not hear.

ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਕਉ ਜਾਣੈ ਦੂਰੇ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
निकटि वसतु कउ जाणै दूरे पापी पाप कमाही ॥१॥
Nikat vasaṯ ka▫o jāṇai ḏūre pāpī pāp kamāhī. ||1||
And the One who dwells near at hand, he thinks that He is far away; the sinner is committing sins. ||1||

ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਛੁਟਹਿ ਪਰਾਨੀ
सो किछु करि जितु छुटहि परानी ॥
So kicẖẖ kar jiṯ cẖẖutėh parānī.
Do only those deeds which will save you, O mortal being.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
हरि हरि नामु जपि अम्रित बानी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har har nām jap amriṯ bānī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and the Ambrosial Word of His Bani. ||1||Pause||

ਘੋਰ ਮਹਲ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ
घोर महल सदा रंगि राता ॥
Gẖor mahal saḏā rang rāṯā.
You are forever imbued with the love of horses and mansions.

ਸੰਗਿ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੈ ਕਛੂ ਜਾਤਾ ॥੨॥
संगि तुम्हारै कछू न जाता ॥२॥
Sang ṯumĥārai kacẖẖū na jāṯā. ||2||
Nothing shall go along with you. ||2||

ਰਖਹਿ ਪੋਚਾਰਿ ਮਾਟੀ ਕਾ ਭਾਂਡਾ
रखहि पोचारि माटी का भांडा ॥
Rakẖėh pocẖār mātī kā bẖāʼndā.
You may clean and decorate the vessel of clay,

ਅਤਿ ਕੁਚੀਲ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਮ ਡਾਂਡਾ ॥੩॥
अति कुचील मिलै जम डांडा ॥३॥
Aṯ kucẖīl milai jam dāʼndā. ||3||
but it is so very filthy; it shall receive its punishment from the Messenger of Death. ||3||

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਲੋਭਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਾਧਾ
काम क्रोधि लोभि मोहि बाधा ॥
Kām kroḏẖ lobẖ mohi bāḏẖā.
You are bound by sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment.

ਮਹਾ ਗਰਤ ਮਹਿ ਨਿਘਰਤ ਜਾਤਾ ॥੪॥
महा गरत महि निघरत जाता ॥४॥
Mahā garaṯ mėh nigẖraṯ jāṯā. ||4||
You are sinking down into the great pit. ||4||

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਣੀਜੈ
नानक की अरदासि सुणीजै ॥
Nānak kī arḏās suṇījai.
Hear this prayer of Nanak, O Lord;

ਡੂਬਤ ਪਾਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੫॥੧੪॥੨੦॥
डूबत पाहन प्रभ मेरे लीजै ॥५॥१४॥२०॥
Dūbaṯ pāhan parabẖ mere lījai. ||5||14||20||
I am a stone, sinking down - please, rescue me! ||5||14||20||

ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ
सूही महला ५ ॥
Sūhī mėhlā 5.
Soohee, Fifth Mehl:

ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ਬੁਝੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ
जीवत मरै बुझै प्रभु सोइ ॥
Jīvaṯ marai bujẖai parabẖ so▫e.
One who remains dead while yet alive understands God.

ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
तिसु जन करमि परापति होइ ॥१॥
Ŧis jan karam parāpaṯ ho▫e. ||1||
He meets that humble being according to the karma of his past actions. ||1||

ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਇਉ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਰੀਐ
सुणि साजन इउ दुतरु तरीऐ ॥
Suṇ sājan i▫o ḏuṯar ṯarī▫ai.
Listen, O friend - this is how to cross over the terrifying world-ocean.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਰੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
मिलि साधू हरि नामु उचरीऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mil sāḏẖū har nām ucẖrī▫ai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Meet with the Holy, and chant the Lord's Name||1||Pause||

ਏਕ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ
एक बिना दूजा नही जानै ॥
Ėk binā ḏūjā nahī jānai.
There is no other to know, except for the One Lord.

ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥੨॥
घट घट अंतरि पारब्रहमु पछानै ॥२॥
Gẖat gẖat anṯar pārbarahm pacẖẖānai. ||2||
So realize that the Supreme Lord God is within each and every heart. ||2||

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨੈ
जो किछु करै सोई भल मानै ॥
Jo kicẖẖ karai so▫ī bẖal mānai.
Whatever He does, accept that as good.

ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
आदि अंत की कीमति जानै ॥३॥
Āḏ anṯ kī kīmaṯ jānai. ||3||
Know the value of the beginning and the end. ||3||

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ
कहु नानक तिसु जन बलिहारी ॥
Kaho Nānak ṯis jan balihārī.
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to that humble being,

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਹਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੧॥
जा कै हिरदै वसहि मुरारी ॥४॥१५॥२१॥
Jā kai hirḏai vasėh murārī. ||4||15||21||
within whose heart the Lord dwells. ||4||15||21||

ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ
सूही महला ५ ॥
Sūhī mėhlā 5.
Soohee, Fifth Mehl:

ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ
गुरु परमेसरु करणैहारु ॥
Gur parmesar karṇaihār.
The Guru is the Transcendent Lord, the Creator Lord.

ਸਗਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਉ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
सगल स्रिसटि कउ दे आधारु ॥१॥
Sagal sarisat ka▫o ḏe āḏẖār. ||1||
He gives His Support to the entire Universe. ||1||

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਮਨ ਧਿਆਇ
गुर के चरण कमल मन धिआइ ॥
Gur ke cẖaraṇ kamal man ḏẖi▫ā▫e.
Meditate within your mind on the Lotus Feet of the Guru.

ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
दूखु दरदु इसु तन ते जाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḏūkẖ ḏaraḏ is ṯan ṯe jā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Pain and suffering shall leave this body. ||1||Pause||

ਭਵਜਲਿ ਡੂਬਤ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਾਢੈ
भवजलि डूबत सतिगुरु काढै ॥
Bẖavjal dūbaṯ saṯgur kādẖai.
The True Guru saves the drowning being from the terrifying world-ocean.

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਟੂਟਾ ਗਾਢੈ ॥੨॥
जनम जनम का टूटा गाढै ॥२॥
Janam janam kā tūtā gādẖai. ||2||
He reunites those who were separated for countless incarnations. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ
गुर की सेवा करहु दिनु राति ॥
Gur kī sevā karahu ḏin rāṯ.
Serve the Guru, day and night.

ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਮਨਿ ਆਵੈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥੩॥
सूख सहज मनि आवै सांति ॥३॥
Sūkẖ sahj man āvai sāʼnṯ. ||3||
Your mind shall come to have peace, pleasure and poise. ||3||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਵੈ
सतिगुर की रेणु वडभागी पावै ॥
Saṯgur kī reṇ vadbẖāgī pāvai.
By great good fortune, one obtains the dust of the feet of the True Guru.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੨॥
नानक गुर कउ सद बलि जावै ॥४॥१६॥२२॥
Nānak gur ka▫o saḏ bal jāvai. ||4||16||22||
Nanak is forever a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||4||16||22||

ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ
सूही महला ५ ॥

ਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ
गुर अपुने ऊपरि बलि जाईऐ ॥
Gur apune ūpar bal jā▫ī▫ai.
I am a sacrifice to my True Guru.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
आठ पहर हरि हरि जसु गाईऐ ॥१॥
Āṯẖ pahar har har jas gā▫ī▫ai. ||1||
Twenty-four hours a day, I sing the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

ਸਿਮਰਉ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ
सिमरउ सो प्रभु अपना सुआमी ॥
Simra▫o so parabẖ apnā su▫āmī.
Meditate in remembrance on God, your Lord and Master.

ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
सगल घटा का अंतरजामी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sagal gẖatā kā anṯarjāmī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts. ||1||Pause||

ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ
चरण कमल सिउ लागी प्रीति ॥
Cẖaraṇ kamal si▫o lāgī parīṯ.
So love the Lord's Lotus Feet,

ਸਾਚੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੨॥
साची पूरन निरमल रीति ॥२॥
Sācẖī pūran nirmal rīṯ. ||2||
and live a lifestyle which is true, perfect and spotless. ||2||

ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ
संत प्रसादि वसै मन माही ॥
Sanṯ parsāḏ vasai man māhī.
By the Grace of the Saints, the Lord comes to dwell within the mind,

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੩॥
जनम जनम के किलविख जाही ॥३॥
Janam janam ke kilvikẖ jāhī. ||3||
and the sins of countless incarnations are eradicated. ||3||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ
करि किरपा प्रभ दीन दइआला ॥
Kar kirpā parabẖ ḏīn ḏa▫i▫ālā.
Please be Merciful, O God, O Merciful to the meek.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਸੰਤ ਰਵਾਲਾ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੨੩॥
नानकु मागै संत रवाला ॥४॥१७॥२३॥
Nānak māgai sanṯ ravālā. ||4||17||23||
Nanak begs for the dust of the Saints. ||4||17||23||
