ਖਿਨੁ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਗ ਪਾਗੇ ॥
खिनु रहनु न पावउ बिनु पग पागे ॥
Kẖin rahan na pāva▫o bin pag pāge.
I cannot survive, even for an instant, without the feet of my Beloved.

ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਹ ਸਭਾਗੇ ॥੩॥
होइ क्रिपालु प्रभ मिलह सभागे ॥३॥
Ho▫e kirpāl parabẖ milah sabẖāge. ||3||
When God becomes Merciful, I become fortunate, and then I meet Him. ||3||
|
ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
भइओ क्रिपालु सतसंगि मिलाइआ ॥
Bẖa▫i▫o kirpāl saṯsang milā▫i▫ā.
Becoming Merciful, He has united me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.

ਬੂਝੀ ਤਪਤਿ ਘਰਹਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
बूझी तपति घरहि पिरु पाइआ ॥
Būjẖī ṯapaṯ gẖarėh pir pā▫i▫ā.
The fire has been quenched, and I have found my Husband Lord within my own home.

ਸਗਲ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਹੁਣਿ ਮੁਝਹਿ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥
सगल सीगार हुणि मुझहि सुहाइआ ॥
Sagal sīgār huṇ mujẖėh suhā▫i▫ā.
I am now adorned with all sorts of decorations.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥੪॥
कहु नानक गुरि भरमु चुकाइआ ॥४॥
Kaho Nānak gur bẖaram cẖukā▫i▫ā. ||4||
Says Nanak, the Guru has dispelled my doubt. ||4||
|
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਪਿਰੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ॥
जह देखा तह पिरु है भाई ॥
Jah ḏekẖā ṯah pir hai bẖā▫ī.
Wherever I look, I see my Husband Lord there, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਖੋਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਿਓ ਕਪਾਟੁ ਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੫॥
खोल्हिओ कपाटु ता मनु ठहराई ॥१॥ रहाउ दूजा ॥५॥
Kẖolĥi▫o kapāt ṯā man ṯẖahrā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o ḏūjā. ||5||
When the door is opened, then the mind is restrained. ||1||Second Pause||5||

ਕਿਆ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਕੇ ਦਾਤਾਰੇ ॥
किआ गुण तेरे सारि सम्हाली मोहि निरगुन के दातारे ॥
Ki▫ā guṇ ṯere sār samĥālī mohi nirgun ke ḏāṯāre.
What virtues and excellences of Yours should I cherish and contemplate? I am worthless, while You are the Great Giver.

ਬੈ ਖਰੀਦੁ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਥਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
बै खरीदु किआ करे चतुराई इहु जीउ पिंडु सभु थारे ॥१॥
Bai kẖarīḏ ki▫ā kare cẖaṯurā▫ī ih jī▫o pind sabẖ thāre. ||1||
I am Your slave - what clever tricks could I ever try? This soul and body are totally Yours||1||

ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਲੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਉ ਹਮ ਬਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
लाल रंगीले प्रीतम मनमोहन तेरे दरसन कउ हम बारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Lāl rangīle parīṯam manmohan ṯere ḏarsan ka▫o ham bāre. ||1|| rahā▫o.
O my Darling, Blissful Beloved, who fascinates my mind - I am a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||Pause||

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਨੁ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਉਪਕਾਰੇ ॥
प्रभु दाता मोहि दीनु भेखारी तुम्ह सदा सदा उपकारे ॥
Parabẖ ḏāṯā mohi ḏīn bẖekẖārī ṯumĥ saḏā saḏā upkāre.
O God, You are the Great Giver, and I am just a poor beggar; You are forever and ever benevolent.

ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਿ ਮੈ ਤੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
सो किछु नाही जि मै ते होवै मेरे ठाकुर अगम अपारे ॥२॥
So kicẖẖ nāhī jė mai ṯe hovai mere ṯẖākur agam apāre. ||2||
I cannot accomplish anything by myself, O my Unapproachable and Infinite Lord and Master. ||2||
|
ਕਿਆ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਉ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਿ ਰੀਝਾਵਉ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਿਤੁ ਪਾਵਉ ਦਰਸਾਰੇ ॥
किआ सेव कमावउ किआ कहि रीझावउ बिधि कितु पावउ दरसारे ॥
Ki▫ā sev kamāva▫o ki▫ā kahi rījẖāva▫o biḏẖ kiṯ pāva▫o ḏarsāre.
What service can I perform? What should I say to please You? How can I gain the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan?

ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਲਹੀਐ ਮਨੁ ਤਰਸੈ ਚਰਨਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
मिति नही पाईऐ अंतु न लहीऐ मनु तरसै चरनारे ॥३॥
Miṯ nahī pā▫ī▫ai anṯ na lahī▫ai man ṯarsai cẖarnāre. ||3||
Your extent cannot be found - Your limits cannot be found. My mind longs for Your Feet. ||3||

ਪਾਵਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਢੀਠੁ ਹੋਇ ਮਾਗਉ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਸੰਤ ਰੇਨਾਰੇ ॥
पावउ दानु ढीठु होइ मागउ मुखि लागै संत रेनारे ॥
Pāva▫o ḏān dẖīṯẖ ho▫e māga▫o mukẖ lāgai sanṯ renāre.
I beg with persistence to receive this gift, that the dust of the Saints might touch my face.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੬॥
जन नानक कउ गुरि किरपा धारी प्रभि हाथ देइ निसतारे ॥४॥६॥
Jan Nānak ka▫o gur kirpā ḏẖārī parabẖ hāth ḏe▫e nisṯāre. ||4||6||
The Guru has showered His Mercy upon servant Nanak; reaching out with His Hand, God has delivered him. ||4||6||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸੇਵਾ ਥੋਰੀ ਮਾਗਨੁ ਬਹੁਤਾ ॥
सेवा थोरी मागनु बहुता ॥
Sevā thorī māgan bahuṯā.
His service is insignificant, but his demands are very great.
|
ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਕਹਤੋ ਪਹੁਤਾ ॥੧॥
महलु न पावै कहतो पहुता ॥१॥
Mahal na pāvai kahṯo pahuṯā. ||1||
He does not obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, but he says that he has arrived there||1||
|
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਮਾਨੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਰੀਸਾ ॥
जो प्रिअ माने तिन की रीसा ॥
Jo pari▫a māne ṯin kī rīsā.
He competes with those who have been accepted by the Beloved Lord.

ਕੂੜੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੀ ਹਾਠੀਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कूड़े मूरख की हाठीसा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kūṛe mūrakẖ kī hāṯẖīsā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
This is how stubborn the false fool is! ||1||Pause||
|
ਭੇਖ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ਸਚੁ ਨ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
भेख दिखावै सचु न कमावै ॥
Bẖekẖ ḏikẖāvai sacẖ na kamāvai.
He wears religious robes, but he does not practice Truth.
|
ਕਹਤੋ ਮਹਲੀ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੨॥
कहतो महली निकटि न आवै ॥२॥
Kahṯo mahlī nikat na āvai. ||2||
He says that he has found the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, but he cannot even get near it. ||2||
|
ਅਤੀਤੁ ਸਦਾਏ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
अतीतु सदाए माइआ का माता ॥
Aṯīṯ saḏā▫e mā▫i▫ā kā māṯā.
He says that he is unattached, but he is intoxicated with Maya.

ਮਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਹੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
मनि नही प्रीति कहै मुखि राता ॥३॥
Man nahī parīṯ kahai mukẖ rāṯā. ||3||
There is no love in his mind, and yet he says that he is imbued with the Lord. ||3||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਨੀਜੈ ॥
कहु नानक प्रभ बिनउ सुनीजै ॥
Kaho Nānak parabẖ bin▫o sunījai.
Says Nanak, hear my prayer, God:

ਕੁਚਲੁ ਕਠੋਰੁ ਕਾਮੀ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੪॥
कुचलु कठोरु कामी मुकतु कीजै ॥४॥
Kucẖal kaṯẖor kāmī mukaṯ kījai. ||4||
I am silly, stubborn and filled with sexual desire - please, liberate me! ||4||
|
ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
दरसन देखे की वडिआई ॥
Ḏarsan ḏekẖe kī vadi▫ā▫ī.
I gaze upon the glorious greatness of the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.
|
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੭॥
तुम्ह सुखदाते पुरख सुभाई ॥१॥ रहाउ दूजा ॥१॥७॥
Ŧumĥ sukẖ▫ḏāṯe purakẖ subẖā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o ḏūjā. ||1||7||
You are the Giver of Peace, the Loving Primal Being. ||1||Second Pause||1||7||

ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Soohee, Fifth Mehl:

ਬੁਰੇ ਕਾਮ ਕਉ ਊਠਿ ਖਲੋਇਆ ॥
बुरे काम कउ ऊठि खलोइआ ॥
Bure kām ka▫o ūṯẖ kẖalo▫i▫ā.
He gets up early, to do his evil deeds,
|
ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਬੇਲਾ ਪੈ ਪੈ ਸੋਇਆ ॥੧॥
नाम की बेला पै पै सोइआ ॥१॥
Nām kī belā pai pai so▫i▫ā. ||1||
but when it is time to meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, then he sleeps. ||1||
|
ਅਉਸਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਨ ਇਆਨਾ ॥
अउसरु अपना बूझै न इआना ॥
A▫osar apnā būjẖai na i▫ānā.
The ignorant person does not take advantage of the opportunity.
|
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਰੰਗਿ ਲਪਟਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
माइआ मोह रंगि लपटाना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mā▫i▫ā moh rang laptānā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He is attached to Maya, and engrossed in worldly delights. ||1||Pause||
|
ਲੋਭ ਲਹਰਿ ਕਉ ਬਿਗਸਿ ਫੂਲਿ ਬੈਠਾ ॥
लोभ लहरि कउ बिगसि फूलि बैठा ॥
Lobẖ lahar ka▫o bigas fūl baiṯẖā.
He rides the waves of greed, puffed up with joy.
|
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਨ ਡੀਠਾ ॥੨॥
साध जना का दरसु न डीठा ॥२॥
Sāḏẖ janā kā ḏaras na dīṯẖā. ||2||
He does not see the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy. ||2||
|
ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਸਮਝੈ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥
कबहू न समझै अगिआनु गवारा ॥
Kabhū na samjẖai agi▫ān gavārā.
The ignorant clown will never understand.
|
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਲਪਟਿਓ ਜੰਜਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बहुरि बहुरि लपटिओ जंजारा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bahur bahur lapti▫o janjārā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Again and again, he becomes engrossed in entanglements. ||1||Pause||
|
ਬਿਖੈ ਨਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਸੁਣਿ ਭੀਨਾ ॥
बिखै नाद करन सुणि भीना ॥
Bikẖai nāḏ karan suṇ bẖīnā.
He listens to the sounds of sin and the music of corruption, and he is pleased.
|
ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨਤ ਆਲਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਕੀਨਾ ॥੩॥
हरि जसु सुनत आलसु मनि कीना ॥३॥
Har jas sunaṯ ālas man kīnā. ||3||
His mind is too lazy to listen to the Praises of the Lord. ||3||
|
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੇ ਪੇਖਤ ਅੰਧੇ ॥
द्रिसटि नाही रे पेखत अंधे ॥
Ḏarisat nāhī re pekẖaṯ anḏẖe.
You do not see with your eyes - you are so blind!
|
ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਝੂਠੇ ਸਭਿ ਧੰਧੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
छोडि जाहि झूठे सभि धंधे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Cẖẖod jāhi jẖūṯẖe sabẖ ḏẖanḏẖe. ||1|| rahā▫o.
You shall have to leave all these false affairs. ||1||Pause||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਖਸ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥
कहु नानक प्रभ बखस करीजै ॥
Kaho Nānak parabẖ bakẖas karījai.
Says Nanak, please forgive me, God.
