ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਛੂਟੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
Gur parsādī ko virlā cẖẖūtai ṯis jan ka▫o ha▫o balihārī. ||3||
By Guru's grace, some rare one is saved. Unto that person, I am a sacrifice.

ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਸਟਿ ਸਾਜੀ ਸੋਈ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਅਪਾਰੋ ॥
Jin sisat sājī so▫ī har jāṇai ṯā kā rūp apāro.
He, who created the world knows everything. Peerless is His beauty.

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੋ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੪॥
Nānak āpe vekẖ har bigsai gurmukẖ barahm bīcẖāro. ||4||3||14||
Himself seeing His creation, the Lord is pleased, O Nanak. It is through the Guru, that the Divine understanding is attained.

Sūhī mėhlā 4.
Suhi 4th Guru.
|
ਕੀਤਾ ਕਰਣਾ ਸਰਬ ਰਜਾਈ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਚੈ ਜੇ ਕਰਿ ਸਕੀਐ ॥
Kīṯā karṇā sarab rajā▫ī kicẖẖ kīcẖai je kar sakī▫ai.
All that has happened or is to happen is in the Lord's will. We may do something only if we have power to do.

ਆਪਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਖੀਐ ॥੧॥
Āpṇā kīṯā kicẖẖū na hovai ji▫o har bẖāvai ṯi▫o rakẖī▫ai. ||1||
By one's own doing, nothing can be done, As it pleases God, so keeps He the Mortal.

ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਤੇਰੈ ਵਸਿ ॥
Mere har jī▫o sabẖ ko ṯerai vas.
My sire Lord, all are in Thine power.
|
ਅਸਾ ਜੋਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਜੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਿ ਹਮ ਸਾਕਹ ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਬਖਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Asā jor nāhī je kicẖẖ kar ham sākah ji▫o bẖāvai ṯivai bakẖas. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I have no power to do anything. As Thou willest, so pardon Thou me. Pause.
|
ਸਭੁ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦੀਆ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
Sabẖ jī▫o pind ḏī▫ā ṯuḏẖ āpe ṯuḏẖ āpe kārai lā▫i▫ā.
Thou Thyself hast blessed me with soul, body and everything and Thou Thyself hast yoked me to Thine service.

ਜੇਹਾ ਤੂੰ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੇਹੇ ਕੋ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਜੇਹਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
Jehā ṯūʼn hukam karahi ṯehe ko karam kamāvai jehā ṯuḏẖ ḏẖur likẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||2||
As is the command issued by Thee and as is Thine pre-destined writ, so are the deeds, the mortal does.

ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭ ਸਾਜੀ ਕੋਈ ਛੇਵਾ ਕਰਿਉ ਜੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
Pancẖ ṯaṯ kar ṯuḏẖ sarisat sabẖ sājī ko▫ī cẖẖevā kari▫o je kicẖẖ kīṯā hovai.
Of the five elements, Thou hast created the whole world. Let any one make the sixth, if he can.

ਇਕਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਬੁਝਾਵਹਿ ਇਕਿ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਿ ਰੋਵੈ ॥੩॥
Iknā saṯgur mel ṯūʼn bujẖāvėh ik manmukẖ karahi sė rovai. ||3||
Uniting with the True Guru, Thou grantest understanding to some. Some are apostates who do evil deeds and bewail.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹਉ ਆਖਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਾ ਹਉ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਮੁਗਧੁ ਨੀਚਾਣੁ ॥
Har kī vadi▫ā▫ī ha▫o ākẖ na sākā ha▫o mūrakẖ mugaḏẖ nīcẖāṇ.
God's glory I can narrate not. I am foolish, unwise and low.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪਇਆ ਅਜਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੪॥
Jan Nānak ka▫o har bakẖas lai mere su▫āmī sarṇāgaṯ pa▫i▫ā ajāṇ. ||4||4||15||24||
Forgive Thou Thy slave Nanak, O my God Lord, for he, the ignorant one, has entered Thine sanctuary.

Rag Suhi. 5th Guru.
|
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By the True Guru's grace, He is obtained.
|
ਬਾਜੀਗਰਿ ਜੈਸੇ ਬਾਜੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
Bājīgar jaise bājī pā▫ī.
As an actor stages a play,
|
ਨਾਨਾ ਰੂਪ ਭੇਖ ਦਿਖਲਾਈ ॥
Nānā rūp bẖekẖ ḏikẖlā▫ī.
and appears in many characters and guises,
|
ਸਾਂਗੁ ਉਤਾਰਿ ਥੰਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਿਓ ਪਾਸਾਰਾ ॥
Sāʼng uṯār thamiĥa▫o pāsārā.
similarly the Lord when He abandons His guise and ends His play,
|
ਤਬ ਏਕੋ ਏਕੰਕਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
Ŧab eko ekankārā. ||1||
then the one alone remains, the One alone.
|
ਕਵਨ ਰੂਪ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਓ ਬਿਨਸਾਇਓ ॥
Kavan rūp ḏaristi▫o binsā▫i▫o.
How many characters appeared and disappeared?
|
ਕਤਹਿ ਗਇਓ ਉਹੁ ਕਤ ਤੇ ਆਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kaṯėh ga▫i▫o uho kaṯ ṯe ā▫i▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Whither have they gone and whence did they come? Pause.
|
ਜਲ ਤੇ ਊਠਹਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਤਰੰਗਾ ॥
Jal ṯe ūṯẖėh anik ṯarangā.
Good many waves arise in the water.
|
ਕਨਿਕ ਭੂਖਨ ਕੀਨੇ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗਾ ॥
Kanik bẖūkẖan kīne baho rangā.
Out of gold are made ornaments of many kinds.
|
ਬੀਜੁ ਬੀਜਿ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਕਾਰਾ ॥
Bīj bīj ḏekẖi▫o baho parkārā.
I have seen seeds of many sorts being sown.
|
ਫਲ ਪਾਕੇ ਤੇ ਏਕੰਕਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
Fal pāke ṯe ekankārā. ||2||
When the fruit ripens, the seed appears in the same one form.
|
ਸਹਸ ਘਟਾ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਆਕਾਸੁ ॥
Sahas gẖatā mėh ek ākās.
In the thousand water-pots one sky is reflected.
|
ਘਟ ਫੂਟੇ ਤੇ ਓਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
Gẖat fūte ṯe ohī pargās.
On the bursting of the water-pots, the sky pageant alone is left.
|
ਭਰਮ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥
Bẖaram lobẖ moh mā▫i▫ā vikār.
Doubt is caused by the sins of avarice, worldly love and wealth.
|
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਛੂਟੇ ਤੇ ਏਕੰਕਾਰ ॥੩॥
Bẖaram cẖẖūte ṯe ekankār. ||3||
Freed form the illusion, the mortal assumes the one Lord's from.
|
ਓਹੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਬਿਨਸਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
Oh abẖināsī binsaṯ nāhī.
He, the Lord is imperishable and perishes not.
|
ਨਾ ਕੋ ਆਵੈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
Nā ko āvai nā ko jāhī.
He neither comes, nor does He go.
|
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਲੁ ਧੋਈ ॥
Gur pūrai ha▫umai mal ḏẖo▫ī.
The perfect Guru has washed away the filth of my self-conceit.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੧॥
Kaho Nānak merī param gaṯ ho▫ī. ||4||1||
Says Nanak, I have obtained the supreme salvation.
|
ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Sūhī mėhlā 5.
Suhi 5th Guru.
|
ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜਹਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹੋਇ ॥
Kīṯā loṛėh so parabẖ ho▫e.
Whatever the Lord wishes to do that alone happens.
|
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
Ŧujẖ bin ḏūjā nāhī ko▫e.
Without Thee, there is not any other.
|
ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਜ ॥
Jo jan seve ṯis pūran kāj.
The mortal who serves Him, His affairs are fulfilled.
|
ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ॥੧॥
Ḏās apune kī rākẖo lāj. ||1||
O Lord, save Thou the honour of Thy slave.
|
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
Ŧerī saraṇ pūran ḏa▫i▫ālā.
O perfectly compassionate Lord, I have sought Thine protection.
|
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਵਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ŧujẖ bin kavan kare parṯipālā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Without Thee, who is going to cherish me? Pause.
|
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
Jal thal mahī▫al rahi▫ā bẖarpūr.
The Lord is fully pervading the ocean, land, nether-world and the firmament.
|
ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
Nikat vasai nāhī parabẖ ḏūr.
The Lord abides near and is not far.
|
ਲੋਕ ਪਤੀਆਰੈ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Lok paṯī▫ārai kacẖẖū na pā▫ī▫ai.
By pleasing people, nothing is obtained.
|
ਸਾਚਿ ਲਗੈ ਤਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
Sācẖ lagai ṯā ha▫umai jā▫ī▫ai. ||2||
If the mortal is attached to the True Lord, then is his ego eradicated.
