ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By the True Guru's grace, He is obtained.
|
ਤੇਰੇ ਕਵਨ ਕਵਨ ਗੁਣ ਕਹਿ ਕਹਿ ਗਾਵਾ ਤੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥
Ŧere kavan kavan guṇ kahi kahi gāvā ṯū sāhib guṇī niḏẖānā.
What and which merits of Thine should I narrate, recount and sing? Thou, O Lord, art the Treasure of excellences.

ਤੁਮਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਤੂੰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਊਚ ਭਗਵਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
Ŧumrī mahimā baran na sāka▫o ṯūʼn ṯẖākur ūcẖ bẖagvānā. ||1||
Thine praise I can describe not. Thou art my Lofty illustrious Lord.

ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਰ ਸੋਈ ॥
Mai har har nām ḏẖar so▫ī.
The Lord God's Name; that alone is my support.
|
ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮੈ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ji▫o bẖāvai ṯi▫o rākẖ mere sāhib mai ṯujẖ bin avar na ko▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
As it pleaseth Thee, so save me O my Master. Without Thee I have none else. Pause.
|
ਮੈ ਤਾਣੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਤੂਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਗੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
Mai ṯāṇ ḏībāṇ ṯūhai mere su▫āmī mai ṯuḏẖ āgai arḏās.
Thou alone art my might and court, O my Master. Before Thee alone, I make a supplication.

ਮੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਥਾਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੨॥
Mai hor thā▫o nāhī jis pėh kara▫o benanṯī merā ḏukẖ sukẖ ṯujẖ hī pās. ||2||
There is no other place, where I may make a supplication. My weal and woe, I lay before Thee alone.

ਵਿਚੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਾਸਟ ਅਗਨਿ ਧਰੀਜੈ ॥
vicẖe ḏẖarṯī vicẖe pāṇī vicẖ kāsat agan ḏẖarījai.
The earth and water abide in one place and the one place and the fire is locked in wood.

ਬਕਰੀ ਸਿੰਘੁ ਇਕਤੈ ਥਾਇ ਰਾਖੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਦੂਰਿ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੩॥
Bakrī singẖ ikṯai thā▫e rākẖe man har jap bẖaram bẖa▫o ḏūr kījai. ||3||
The sleep and the lion, the Lord has kept in one place. O man contemplate thou on God and shake off thy doubt and dread.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ਮਾਣੁ ਦੇਵਾਏ ॥
Har kī vadi▫ā▫ī ḏekẖhu sanṯahu har nimāṇi▫ā māṇ ḏevā▫e.
Look at the greatness of God, O saints. The Lord blesses the dishonoured with honour.

ਜਿਉ ਧਰਤੀ ਚਰਣ ਤਲੇ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਜਗਤੁ ਆਣਿ ਸਭੁ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨॥
Ji▫o ḏẖarṯī cẖaraṇ ṯale ṯe ūpar āvai ṯi▫o Nānak sāḏẖ janā jagaṯ āṇ sabẖ pairī pā▫e. ||4||1||12||
As the dust from beneath the feet comes high up, similarly, O Nanak, the Lord makes the whole world fall at the feet of the pious person.

ਤੂੰ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਕਿਆ ਤੁਧੁ ਪਹਿ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਈਐ ॥
Ŧūʼn karṯā sabẖ kicẖẖ āpe jāṇėh ki▫ā ṯuḏẖ pėh ākẖ suṇā▫ī▫ai.
Thou, O Creator, Thyself knowest everything. What should I say and tell unto Thee?

ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੂਝੈ ਜੇਹਾ ਕੋ ਕਰੇ ਤੇਹਾ ਕੋ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
Burā bẖalā ṯuḏẖ sabẖ kicẖẖ sūjẖai jehā ko kare ṯehā ko pā▫ī▫ai. ||1||
The bad and the good, thou knowest all. As man sows, so does he reap.
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੂੰ ਅੰਤਰ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਣਹਿ ॥
Mere sāhib ṯūʼn anṯar kī biḏẖ jāṇėh.
O my Lord, Thou knowest the condition of the mind.
|
ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੂਝੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਬੁਲਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Burā bẖalā ṯuḏẖ sabẖ kicẖẖ sūjẖai ṯuḏẖ bẖāvai ṯivai bulāvėh. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The evil and the virtuous, Thou knowest all. As is Thy will, so makest them Thou speak. Pause.
|
ਸਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਾਈ ॥
Sabẖ moh mā▫i▫ā sarīr har kī▫ā vicẖ ḏehī mānukẖ bẖagaṯ karā▫ī.
Amongst all the bodies, God has infused the love of worldly valuables and in the human form. He hast afforded a chance to perform His devotional service.

ਇਕਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਇਕਿ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਧੰਧੁ ਪਿਟਾਈ ॥੨॥
Iknā saṯgur mel sukẖ ḏevėh ik manmukẖ ḏẖanḏẖ pitā▫ī. ||2||
Some Thou unitest with the True Guru to gather peace and some apostates are engrossed in worldly affairs.

ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਤੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲੇਖੁ ॥
Sabẖ ko ṯerā ṯūʼn sabẖnā kā mere karṯe ṯuḏẖ sabẖnā sir likẖi▫ā lekẖ.
All belong to Thee and Thou belongest to all. Thou hast scribed destiny on every one's head, O my creator.

ਜੇਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੇਹਾ ਕੋ ਹੋਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਭੇਖੁ ॥੩॥
Jehī ṯūʼn naḏar karahi ṯehā ko hovai bin naḏrī nāhī ko bẖekẖ. ||3||
As is Thy glance, so becomes one, O Lord Without Thine grace no one assumes any form.
|
ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਭ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਨਿਤ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
Ŧerī vadi▫ā▫ī ṯūʼnhai jāṇėh sabẖ ṯuḏẖno niṯ ḏẖi▫ā▫e.
Thine glory, Thou alone knowest, O Lord. Every one ever thinks of Thee.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੩॥
Jis no ṯuḏẖ bẖāvai ṯis no ṯūʼn melėh jan Nānak so thā▫e pā▫e. ||4||2||13||
He, whom Thou lovest; him Thou unitest with Thee. He alone, O serf Nanak, becomes acceptable.

|
ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ਗਵਾਏ ॥
Jin kai anṯar vasi▫ā merā har har ṯin ke sabẖ rog gavā▫e.
They with whose mind my Lord Master abides; all their diseases are dispelled.

ਤੇ ਮੁਕਤ ਭਏ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥
Ŧe mukaṯ bẖa▫e jin har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā ṯin paviṯ param paḏ pā▫e. ||1||
They, who utter God's Name are emancipated and obtain they the immaculate supreme status.
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਆਰੋਗ ਭਏ ॥
Mere rām har jan ārog bẖa▫e.
O my Omnipresent Lord, God's slaves become healthful for aye.
|
ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਜਿਨਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗ ਗਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gur bacẖnī jinā japi▫ā merā har har ṯin ke ha▫umai rog ga▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Under Guru's instruction they who meditate on my Lord God; their malady of ego is dispelled. Pause.
|
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਰੋਗੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਈ ॥
Barahmā bisan mahāḏe▫o ṯarai guṇ rogī vicẖ ha▫umai kār kamā▫ī.
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are afflicted with the ailment of three dispositions. They act in the spirit of I-am-ness.

ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਏ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਨ ਚੇਤਹਿ ਬਪੁੜੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
Jin kī▫e ṯisėh na cẖīṯėh bapuṛe har gurmukẖ sojẖī pā▫ī. ||2||
The poor ones remember not Him, who created them. The Lord's understanding is obtained, through the Guru.

ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਬਿਆਪਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
Ha▫umai rog sabẖ jagaṯ bi▫āpi▫ā ṯin ka▫o janam maraṇ ḏukẖ bẖārī.
The whole world is engrossed in the disease of self-conceit. They suffer the great anguish of birth and death.
