ਜੀਵਤ ਲਉ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਜਗ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਜਾਨਉ ॥
जीवत लउ बिउहारु है जग कउ तुम जानउ ॥
Jīvaṯ la▫o bi▫uhār hai jag ka▫o ṯum jān▫o.
Know thou for certain that the affairs of the world last only till one is alive.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਲੈ ਸਭ ਸੁਫਨ ਸਮਾਨਉ ॥੨॥੨॥
नानक हरि गुन गाइ लै सभ सुफन समानउ ॥२॥२॥
Nānak har gun gā▫e lai sabẖ sufan samāna▫o. ||2||2||
Nanak, sing thou the praise of the Lord, Everything is like a dream.

ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਰੇ ਮਨਾ ਗਾਇ ਲੈ ਜੋ ਸੰਗੀ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੋ ॥
हरि जसु रे मना गाइ लै जो संगी है तेरो ॥
Har jas re manā gā▫e lai jo sangī hai ṯero.
O my soul, sing thou the praise of God, who is thy real friend.

ਅਉਸਰੁ ਬੀਤਿਓ ਜਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਕਹਿਓ ਮਾਨ ਲੈ ਮੇਰੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अउसरु बीतिओ जातु है कहिओ मान लै मेरो ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
A▫osar bīṯi▫o jāṯ hai kahi▫o mān lai mero. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The time is passing away. listen carefully to what I say. Pause.

ਸੰਪਤਿ ਰਥ ਧਨ ਰਾਜ ਸਿਉ ਅਤਿ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਾਇਓ ॥
स्मपति रथ धन राज सिउ अति नेहु लगाइओ ॥
Sampaṯ rath ḏẖan rāj si▫o aṯ nehu lagā▫i▫o.
Thou hast embraced, immense love for riches, chariots, wife and dominions.

ਕਾਲ ਫਾਸ ਜਬ ਗਲਿ ਪਰੀ ਸਭ ਭਇਓ ਪਰਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
काल फास जब गलि परी सभ भइओ पराइओ ॥१॥
Kāl fās jab gal parī sabẖ bẖa▫i▫o parā▫i▫o. ||1||
When death's noose encircles thy neck, all shall become the property of others.

ਜਾਨਿ ਬੂਝ ਕੈ ਬਾਵਰੇ ਤੈ ਕਾਜੁ ਬਿਗਾਰਿਓ ॥
जानि बूझ कै बावरे तै काजु बिगारिओ ॥
Jān būjẖ kai bāvre ṯai kāj bigāri▫o.
Knowing full well, O mad man, thou hast spoiled thine case.

ਪਾਪ ਕਰਤ ਸੁਕਚਿਓ ਨਹੀ ਨਹ ਗਰਬੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿਓ ॥੨॥
पाप करत सुकचिओ नही नह गरबु निवारिओ ॥२॥
Pāp karaṯ sukcẖi▫o nahī nah garab nivāri▫o. ||2||
Thou shirkest not from committing sins, nor dismiss thou thy ego.
|
ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਸੋ ਸੁਨੁ ਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
जिह बिधि गुर उपदेसिआ सो सुनु रे भाई ॥
Jih biḏẖ gur upḏesi▫ā so sun re bẖā▫ī.
The way the Guru instructs thee, hearken thou to that, O brother.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਤ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਗਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥੩॥੩॥
नानक कहत पुकारि कै गहु प्रभ सरनाई ॥३॥३॥
Nānak kahaṯ pukār kai gahu parabẖ sarnā▫ī. ||3||3||
Nanak loudly proclaims "Grasp thou the protection of thy Lord".

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By True Guru's grace is he obtained.

ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਇਫਤਰਾ ਭਾਈ ਦਿਲ ਕਾ ਫਿਕਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
बेद कतेब इफतरा भाई दिल का फिकरु न जाइ ॥
Beḏ kaṯeb ifṯarā bẖā▫ī ḏil kā fikar na jā▫e.
The Vedas and the four Semitic scriptures are unnecessary, O brother, if the mind's anxiety is not removed.

ਟੁਕੁ ਦਮੁ ਕਰਾਰੀ ਜਉ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਾਜਿਰ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਖੁਦਾਇ ॥੧॥
टुकु दमु करारी जउ करहु हाजिर हजूरि खुदाइ ॥१॥
Tuk ḏam karārī ja▫o karahu hājir hajūr kẖuḏā▫e. ||1||
If thou fix thy mind on God even for a moment, then the Lord shall be seen just present before thee.

ਬੰਦੇ ਖੋਜੁ ਦਿਲ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ ਨਾ ਫਿਰੁ ਪਰੇਸਾਨੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
बंदे खोजु दिल हर रोज ना फिरु परेसानी माहि ॥
Banḏe kẖoj ḏil har roj nā fir paresānī māhi.
O man, search thy heart every day and wander not in perplexity.
|
ਇਹ ਜੁ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸਿਹਰੁ ਮੇਲਾ ਦਸਤਗੀਰੀ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
इह जु दुनीआ सिहरु मेला दसतगीरी नाहि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ih jo ḏunī▫ā sihar melā ḏasaṯgīrī nāhi. ||1|| rahā▫o.
This world is a magic show. In it there is not on is hold thy hand. Pause.

ਦਰੋਗੁ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਖੁਸੀ ਹੋਇ ਬੇਖਬਰ ਬਾਦੁ ਬਕਾਹਿ ॥
दरोगु पड़ि पड़ि खुसी होइ बेखबर बादु बकाहि ॥
Ḏarog paṛ paṛ kẖusī ho▫e bekẖabar bāḏ bakāhi.
Reading and reading false-hood, the mortals are delighted and being ignorant talk nonsense.

ਹਕੁ ਸਚੁ ਖਾਲਕੁ ਖਲਕ ਮਿਆਨੇ ਸਿਆਮ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
हकु सचु खालकु खलक मिआने सिआम मूरति नाहि ॥२॥
Hak sacẖ kẖālak kẖalak mi▫āne si▫ām mūraṯ nāhi. ||2||
My just True Creator is within His creation. He is not the Krishna of black form.

ਅਸਮਾਨ ਮ੍ਯ੍ਯਿਾਨੇ ਲਹੰਗ ਦਰੀਆ ਗੁਸਲ ਕਰਦਨ ਬੂਦ ॥
असमान म्यिाने लहंग दरीआ गुसल करदन बूद ॥
Asmān mi▫yāne lahang ḏarī▫ā gusal karḏan būḏ.
In the tenth gate flows the stream of celestial bliss Thou ought to have taken a bath in it.

ਕਰਿ ਫਕਰੁ ਦਾਇਮ ਲਾਇ ਚਸਮੇ ਜਹ ਤਹਾ ਮਉਜੂਦੁ ॥੩॥
करि फकरु दाइम लाइ चसमे जह तहा मउजूदु ॥३॥
Kar fakar ḏā▫im lā▫e cẖasme jah ṯahā ma▫ujūḏ. ||3||
Ever perform thou the Lord's service. wear these spectacles.

ਅਲਾਹ ਪਾਕੰ ਪਾਕ ਹੈ ਸਕ ਕਰਉ ਜੇ ਦੂਸਰ ਹੋਇ ॥
अलाह पाकं पाक है सक करउ जे दूसर होइ ॥
Alāh pākaʼn pāk hai sak kara▫o je ḏūsar ho▫e.
The Lord is the purest of the pure. Thou mayest entrain a doubt if there be another.

ਕਬੀਰ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਰੀਮ ਕਾ ਉਹੁ ਕਰੈ ਜਾਨੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੧॥
कबीर करमु करीम का उहु करै जानै सोइ ॥४॥१॥
Kabīr karam karīm kā uho karai jānai so▫e. ||4||1||
Kabir, mercy wells up from the Merciful Lord. He alone knows, who does all this.

ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ॥

ਮੈ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਖੁੰਦਕਾਰਾ ॥
मै अंधुले की टेक तेरा नामु खुंदकारा ॥
Mai anḏẖule kī tek ṯerā nām kẖunḏkārā.
Of me, the blind one, Thy Name, O Creator is the only mainstay.

ਮੈ ਗਰੀਬ ਮੈ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मै गरीब मै मसकीन तेरा नामु है अधारा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mai garīb mai maskīn ṯerā nām hai aḏẖārā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I am poor, I am meek and Thy Name is my only support.
|
ਕਰੀਮਾਂ ਰਹੀਮਾਂ ਅਲਾਹ ਤੂ ਗਨੀ ॥
करीमां रहीमां अलाह तू गनीं ॥
Karīmāʼn rahīmāʼn alāh ṯū ganīʼn.
Bounteous, Beneficent and wealthy Thou art, O Lord.

ਹਾਜਰਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਪੇਸਿ ਤੂੰ ਮਨੀ ॥੧॥
हाजरा हजूरि दरि पेसि तूं मनीं ॥१॥
Hājrā hajūr ḏar pes ṯūʼn manīʼn. ||1||
Thou art ever present within and before me.
|
ਦਰੀਆਉ ਤੂ ਦਿਹੰਦ ਤੂ ਬਿਸੀਆਰ ਤੂ ਧਨੀ ॥
दरीआउ तू दिहंद तू बिसीआर तू धनी ॥
Ḏarī▫ā▫o ṯū ḏihanḏ ṯū bisī▫ār ṯū ḏẖanī.
Thou art the river Thou the Giver and Thou art exceedingly wealthy.

ਦੇਹਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਤੂੰ ਦਿਗਰ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ॥੨॥
देहि लेहि एकु तूं दिगर को नही ॥२॥
Ḏėh lehi ek ṯūʼn ḏigar ko nahī. ||2||
Thou alone givest and takest, there is not another.
|
ਤੂੰ ਦਾਨਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਬੀਨਾਂ ਮੈ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੀ ॥
तूं दानां तूं बीनां मै बीचारु किआ करी ॥
Ŧūʼn ḏānāʼn ṯūʼn bīnāʼn mai bīcẖār ki▫ā karī.
Thou art wise, thou art the beholder What conception can I form of Thee.

ਨਾਮੇ ਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਖਸੰਦ ਤੂੰ ਹਰੀ ॥੩॥੧॥੨॥
नामे चे सुआमी बखसंद तूं हरी ॥३॥१॥२॥
Nāme cẖe su▫āmī bakẖsanḏ ṯūʼn harī. ||3||1||2||
O God, the Lord of Name, Thou art the Pardoner.

ਹਲੇ ਯਾਰਾਂ ਹਲੇ ਯਾਰਾਂ ਖੁਸਿਖਬਰੀ ॥
हले यारां हले यारां खुसिखबरी ॥
Hale yārāʼn hale yārāʼn kẖusikẖabrī.
Hallo! my friend, Hallo my friend, what glad tidings bringest thou?

ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਂਉ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਂਉ ॥
बलि बलि जांउ हउ बलि बलि जांउ ॥
Bal bal jāʼn▫o ha▫o bal bal jāʼn▫o.
Devoted, O devoted, devoted, O devoted am I unto Thee.

ਨੀਕੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਿਗਾਰੀ ਆਲੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
नीकी तेरी बिगारी आले तेरा नाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Nīkī ṯerī bigārī āle ṯerā nā▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Good is Thine forced labour and exalted is Thy Name. Pause.

ਕੁਜਾ ਆਮਦ ਕੁਜਾ ਰਫਤੀ ਕੁਜਾ ਮੇ ਰਵੀ ॥
कुजा आमद कुजा रफती कुजा मे रवी ॥
Kujā āmaḏ kujā rafṯī kujā me ravī.
Where hast Thou come? Where hast Thou been and whither art Thou going?

ਦ੍ਵਾਰਿਕਾ ਨਗਰੀ ਰਾਸਿ ਬੁਗੋਈ ॥੧॥
द्वारिका नगरी रासि बुगोई ॥१॥
Ḏavārikā nagrī rās bugo▫ī. ||1||
Tell Thou the truth, in this sacred city of Dwarka.

ਖੂਬੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਗਰੀ ਮੀਠੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੋਲ ॥
खूबु तेरी पगरी मीठे तेरे बोल ॥
Kẖūb ṯerī pagrī mīṯẖe ṯere bol.
Handsome is Thy turban and sweet is Thy speech.

ਦ੍ਵਾਰਿਕਾ ਨਗਰੀ ਕਾਹੇ ਕੇ ਮਗੋਲ ॥੨॥
द्वारिका नगरी काहे के मगोल ॥२॥
Ḏavārikā nagrī kāhe ke magol. ||2||
How can there be a Mughal in the city of Dwarka?

ਚੰਦੀ ਹਜਾਰ ਆਲਮ ਏਕਲ ਖਾਨਾਂ ॥
चंदीं हजार आलम एकल खानां ॥
Cẖanḏīʼn hajār ālam ekal kẖānāʼn.
Thou alone art the Lord of the many thousands of worlds.

ਹਮ ਚਿਨੀ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ਸਾਂਵਲੇ ਬਰਨਾਂ ॥੩॥
हम चिनी पातिसाह सांवले बरनां ॥३॥
Ham cẖinī pāṯisāh sāʼnvle barnāʼn. ||3||
Like-wise is my King of the sable hue.

ਅਸਪਤਿ ਗਜਪਤਿ ਨਰਹ ਨਰਿੰਦ ॥
असपति गजपति नरह नरिंद ॥
Aspaṯ gajpaṯ narah narinḏ.
Thou art the Lord of horse, (the Sun), the Lord of elephant (Indra) and King of men (Brahma).

ਨਾਮੇ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਮੀਰ ਮੁਕੰਦ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
नामे के स्वामी मीर मुकंद ॥४॥२॥३॥
Nāme ke savāmī mīr mukanḏ. ||4||2||3||
Thou art the Lord of Nama, the sovereign of all and the Giver of salvation.
