ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਕਰੇ ਆਪਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਾੜੀ ਹੈ ਲਾਈ ॥੧॥
आपे जाणै करे आपि जिनि वाड़ी है लाई ॥१॥
Āpe jāṇai kare āp jin vāṛī hai lā▫ī. ||1||
He who has laid out the garden, He Himself Knows and Himself acts.

ਰਾਇਸਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਾ ਰਾਇਸਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
राइसा पिआरे का राइसा जितु सदा सुखु होई ॥ रहाउ ॥
Rā▫isā pi▫āre kā rā▫isā jiṯ saḏā sukẖ ho▫ī. Rahā▫o.
Embrace thou the meditation, the meditation of the Beloved, by which peace is ever obtained. Pause.

ਜਿਨਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਸਾ ਪਛੋ ਰੇ ਤਾਣੀ ॥
जिनि रंगि कंतु न राविआ सा पछो रे ताणी ॥
Jin rang kanṯ na rāvi▫ā sā pacẖẖo re ṯāṇī.
She who enjoys not her spouse with love, regrets afterwards.
|
ਹਾਥ ਪਛੋੜੈ ਸਿਰੁ ਧੁਣੈ ਜਬ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
हाथ पछोड़ै सिरु धुणै जब रैणि विहाणी ॥२॥
Hāth pacẖẖoṛe sir ḏẖuṇai jab raiṇ vihāṇī. ||2||
She wrings her hands and beats her head, when the night passes away.
|
ਪਛੋਤਾਵਾ ਨਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਬ ਚੂਕੈਗੀ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
पछोतावा ना मिलै जब चूकैगी सारी ॥
Pacẖẖoṯāvā nā milai jab cẖūkaigī sārī.
No good accrues from repentance when the life ends.
|
ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਰਾਵੀਐ ਜਬ ਆਵੈਗੀ ਵਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
ता फिरि पिआरा रावीऐ जब आवैगी वारी ॥३॥
Ŧā fir pi▫ārā rāvī▫ai jab āvaigī vārī. ||3||
Then alone shall she have the chance of enjoying her Beloved, when her turn comes, again.
|
ਕੰਤੁ ਲੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਮੈ ਤੇ ਵਧਵੀ ਏਹ ॥
कंतु लीआ सोहागणी मै ते वधवी एह ॥
Kanṯ lī▫ā sohāgaṇī mai ṯe vaḏẖvī eh.
The True bride obtains her Husband, she is superior to me.
|
ਸੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੁਝੈ ਨ ਆਵਨੀ ਕੈ ਜੀ ਦੋਸੁ ਧਰੇਹ ॥੪॥
से गुण मुझै न आवनी कै जी दोसु धरेह ॥४॥
Se guṇ mujẖai na āvnī kai jī ḏos ḏẖareh. ||4||
Those merits, I possess not; whom should I blame.
|
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੁ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਪੂਛਉਗੀ ਜਾਏ ॥
जिनी सखी सहु राविआ तिन पूछउगी जाए ॥
Jinī sakẖī saho rāvi▫ā ṯin pūcẖẖ▫ugī jā▫e.
Those mates, who have enjoyed their spouse, to them I shall go to ask.
|
ਪਾਇ ਲਗਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਉ ਲੇਉਗੀ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਏ ॥੫॥
पाइ लगउ बेनती करउ लेउगी पंथु बताए ॥५॥
Pā▫e laga▫o benṯī kara▫o le▫ugī panth baṯā▫e. ||5||
I shall touch their feet and supplicate them to show me the path.
|
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭਉ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
हुकमु पछाणै नानका भउ चंदनु लावै ॥
Hukam pacẖẖāṇai nānkā bẖa▫o cẖanḏan lāvai.
Nanak, if the bride obeys her spouse's order, applies His fear as her sandal,
|
ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਕਰੈ ਤਉ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਉ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੬॥
गुण कामण कामणि करै तउ पिआरे कउ पावै ॥६॥
Guṇ kāmaṇ kāmaṇ karai ṯa▫o pi▫āre ka▫o pāvai. ||6||
and performs the incantation of merits, then obtains she her Beloved.
|
ਜੋ ਦਿਲਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਹੀਐ ਰੇ ਸੋਈ ॥
जो दिलि मिलिआ सु मिलि रहिआ मिलिआ कहीऐ रे सोई ॥
Jo ḏil mili▫ā so mil rahi▫ā mili▫ā kahī▫ai re so▫ī.
She, who meets with her Lord the heart's way, ever abides with Him. That is called the real meeting.

ਜੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰਾ ਲੋਚੀਐ ਬਾਤੀ ਮੇਲੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੭॥
जे बहुतेरा लोचीऐ बाती मेलु न होई ॥७॥
Je bahuṯerā locẖī▫ai bāṯī mel na ho▫ī. ||7||
However much she may desire is, she meets Him not through mere words.
|
ਧਾਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਧਾਤੁ ਕਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਿਵੈ ਕਉ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
धातु मिलै फुनि धातु कउ लिव लिवै कउ धावै ॥
Ḏẖāṯ milai fun ḏẖāṯ ka▫o liv livai ka▫o ḏẖāvai.
The mental blends with the metal again and love attracts love.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਤਉ ਅਨਭਉ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੮॥
गुर परसादी जाणीऐ तउ अनभउ पावै ॥८॥
Gur parsādī jāṇī▫ai ṯa▫o anbẖa▫o pāvai. ||8||
When by Guru's grace, man obtains true understanding, then finds, he, the Fearless Lord.

ਪਾਨਾ ਵਾੜੀ ਹੋਇ ਘਰਿ ਖਰੁ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
पाना वाड़ी होइ घरि खरु सार न जाणै ॥
Pānā vāṛī ho▫e gẖar kẖar sār na jāṇai.
An oronard of betel may be in the house, but the donkey knows not its worth.
|
ਰਸੀਆ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੁਸਕ ਕਾ ਤਬ ਫੂਲੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥੯॥
रसीआ होवै मुसक का तब फूलु पछाणै ॥९॥
Rasī▫ā hovai musak kā ṯab fūl pacẖẖāṇai. ||9||
If one knows, the nature of fragrance, then alone can one appreciate the flower.
|
ਅਪਿਉ ਪੀਵੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
अपिउ पीवै जो नानका भ्रमु भ्रमि समावै ॥
Api▫o pīvai jo nānkā bẖaram bẖaram samāvai.
He alone who quaffs the Name Nectar, ends his doubts and wanderings.

ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧੦॥੧॥
सहजे सहजे मिलि रहै अमरा पदु पावै ॥१०॥१॥
Sėhje sėhje mil rahai amrā paḏ pāvai. ||10||1||
He easily remains blended with the Lord and obtains the immortal status.

ਤਿਲੰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
तिलंग महला ४ ॥
Ŧilang mėhlā 4.
Tilang 4th Guru.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਾਣੀਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੀਤਿ ਸੁਣਾਈਆ ॥
हरि कीआ कथा कहाणीआ गुरि मीति सुणाईआ ॥
Har kī▫ā kathā kahāṇī▫ā gur mīṯ suṇā▫ī▫ā.
God's sermons and tales, my friend, the Guru, has related to me.

ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਆ ॥੧॥
बलिहारी गुर आपणे गुर कउ बलि जाईआ ॥१॥
Balihārī gur āpṇe gur ka▫o bal jā▫ī▫ā. ||1||
A sacrifice am I unto my Guru. Unto the Guru, I am a sacrifice.
|
ਆਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
आइ मिलु गुरसिख आइ मिलु तू मेरे गुरू के पिआरे ॥ रहाउ ॥
Ā▫e mil gursikẖ ā▫e mil ṯū mere gurū ke pi▫āre. Rahā▫o.
Come and see me, O thou the disciple of the Guru, come and meet me thou, Thou art my Guru's beloved. Pause.

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵਦੇ ਸੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ॥
हरि के गुण हरि भावदे से गुरू ते पाए ॥
Har ke guṇ har bẖāvḏe se gurū ṯe pā▫e.
God's praise are pleasing to God. Them, I have obtained from the Guru.
|
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਘੁਮਿ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਏ ॥੨॥
जिन गुर का भाणा मंनिआ तिन घुमि घुमि जाए ॥२॥
Jin gur kā bẖāṇā mani▫ā ṯin gẖum gẖum jā▫e. ||2||
They, who obey the Guru, will, unto them, I am a sacrifice, yea, a sacrifice.

ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ॥
जिन सतिगुरु पिआरा देखिआ तिन कउ हउ वारी ॥
Jin saṯgur pi▫ārā ḏekẖi▫ā ṯin ka▫o ha▫o vārī.
They, who behold the beloved True Guru, unto them am I devoted.
|
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
जिन गुर की कीती चाकरी तिन सद बलिहारी ॥३॥
Jin gur kī kīṯī cẖākrī ṯin saḏ balihārī. ||3||
I am ever a sacrifice unto those, who perform the Guru's service.
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਦੁਖ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
हरि हरि तेरा नामु है दुख मेटणहारा ॥
Har har ṯerā nām hai ḏukẖ metaṇhārā.
Thy Name, O Lord God, is the Destroyer of suffering.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥੪॥
गुर सेवा ते पाईऐ गुरमुखि निसतारा ॥४॥
Gur sevā ṯe pā▫ī▫ai gurmukẖ nisṯārā. ||4||
By The service of the Guru, the name is received. It is though the Guru that emancipation is obtained.
|
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥
जो हरि नामु धिआइदे ते जन परवाना ॥
Jo har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏe ṯe jan parvānā.
They, who contemplate the Lord's Name, acceptable become those persons.
|
ਤਿਨ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੫॥
तिन विटहु नानकु वारिआ सदा सदा कुरबाना ॥५॥
Ŧin vitahu Nānak vāri▫ā saḏā saḏā kurbānā. ||5||
Unto them, Nanak is a sacrifice and for ever and aye he is devoted.
|
ਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
सा हरि तेरी उसतति है जो हरि प्रभ भावै ॥
Sā har ṯerī usṯaṯ hai jo har parabẖ bẖāvai.
O God, the Lord Master, that alone is Thine praise, which is pleasing to Thee.
|
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੬॥
जो गुरमुखि पिआरा सेवदे तिन हरि फलु पावै ॥६॥
Jo gurmukẖ pi▫ārā sevḏe ṯin har fal pāvai. ||6||
The Guru-wards, who serve the Beloved Lord, they obtain Him as their reward.
|
ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਲੇ ॥
जिना हरि सेती पिरहड़ी तिना जीअ प्रभ नाले ॥
Jinā har seṯī pirhaṛī ṯinā jī▫a parabẖ nāle.
They, who cherish love for their Lord, their soul is ever attuned to God.
|
ਓਇ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥੭॥
ओइ जपि जपि पिआरा जीवदे हरि नामु समाले ॥७॥
O▫e jap jap pi▫ārā jīvḏe har nām samāle. ||7||
Meditating and ever dwelling upon the Beloved, they live and they gather God's Name.
|
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
जिन गुरमुखि पिआरा सेविआ तिन कउ घुमि जाइआ ॥
Jin gurmukẖ pi▫ārā sevi▫ā ṯin ka▫o gẖum jā▫i▫ā.
The Guru-wards, who serve the Beloved Lord, unto, I am a sacrifice.

ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਛੁਟੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਿਉ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਇਆ ॥੮॥
ओइ आपि छुटे परवार सिउ सभु जगतु छडाइआ ॥८॥
O▫e āp cẖẖute parvār si▫o sabẖ jagaṯ cẖẖadā▫i▫ā. ||8||
Thy themselves are saved along with their families and through them the whole world is delivered.

ਗੁਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨੋ ॥
गुरि पिआरै हरि सेविआ गुरु धंनु गुरु धंनो ॥
Gur pi▫ārai har sevi▫ā gur ḏẖan gur ḏẖanno.
My Beloved Guru has served the Lord, Blessed, blessed is the Guru, the True Guru.

ਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦਸਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਵਡ ਪੁੰਨੋ ॥੯॥
गुरि हरि मारगु दसिआ गुर पुंनु वड पुंनो ॥९॥
Gur har mārag ḏasi▫ā gur punn vad punno. ||9||
The Guru has shown me the God's way, the Guru has done me the good, yea, the supreme good.
