ਖੂਨ ਕੇ ਸੋਹਿਲੇ ਗਾਵੀਅਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਤੁ ਕਾ ਕੁੰਗੂ ਪਾਇ ਵੇ ਲਾਲੋ ॥੧॥
खून के सोहिले गावीअहि नानक रतु का कुंगू पाइ वे लालो ॥१॥
Kẖūn ke sohile gavī▫ah Nānak raṯ kā kungū pā▫e ve lālo. ||1||
Nanak, the eulogies of murder are sung, and the saffron of blood is sprinkled, O Lalo.

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਮਾਸ ਪੁਰੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਖੁ ਮਸੋਲਾ ॥
साहिब के गुण नानकु गावै मास पुरी विचि आखु मसोला ॥
Sāhib ke guṇ Nānak gāvai mās purī vicẖ ākẖ masolā.
Nanak sings the glories of the Lord in the city of corpses and mentions this affair.

ਜਿਨਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਵਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਵੇਖੈ ਵਖਿ ਇਕੇਲਾ ॥
जिनि उपाई रंगि रवाई बैठा वेखै वखि इकेला ॥
Jin upā▫ī rang ravā▫ī baiṯẖā vekẖai vakẖ ikelā.
He, who has made the mortals and attached them to pleasures, sits apart and alone, and beholds them.

ਸਚਾ ਸੋ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੁ ਤਪਾਵਸੁ ਸਚੜਾ ਨਿਆਉ ਕਰੇਗੁ ਮਸੋਲਾ ॥
सचा सो साहिबु सचु तपावसु सचड़ा निआउ करेगु मसोला ॥
Sacẖā so sāhib sacẖ ṯapāvas sacẖṛā ni▫ā▫o kareg masolā.
He, the Lord is true, true is His decision, and He issues command based on true justice.

ਕਾਇਆ ਕਪੜੁ ਟੁਕੁ ਟੁਕੁ ਹੋਸੀ ਹਿਦੁਸਤਾਨੁ ਸਮਾਲਸੀ ਬੋਲਾ ॥
काइआ कपड़ु टुकु टुकु होसी हिदुसतानु समालसी बोला ॥
Kā▫i▫ā kapaṛ tuk tuk hosī hinḏusaṯān samālsī bolā.
The body cloth shall be torn into pieces and shreds. The shall Hindustan remember my word.

ਆਵਨਿ ਅਠਤਰੈ ਜਾਨਿ ਸਤਾਨਵੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਭੀ ਉਠਸੀ ਮਰਦ ਕਾ ਚੇਲਾ ॥
आवनि अठतरै जानि सतानवै होरु भी उठसी मरद का चेला ॥
Āvan aṯẖ▫ṯarai jān saṯānvai hor bẖī uṯẖsī maraḏ kā cẖelā.
Coming in seventy eight (Vikram), they (the Mughals) shall depart in ninety seven and then another disciple of brave Man shall arise.

ਸਚ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਖੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਣਾਇਸੀ ਸਚ ਕੀ ਬੇਲਾ ॥੨॥੩॥੫॥
सच की बाणी नानकु आखै सचु सुणाइसी सच की बेला ॥२॥३॥५॥
Sacẖ kī baṇī Nānak ākẖai sacẖ suṇā▫isī sacẖ kī belā. ||2||3||5||
Nanak utters the word of truth and proclaims truth at the right time.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By True Guru's grace is He obtained.
|
ਸਭਿ ਆਏ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਖਸਮਾਹੁ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਭ ਵਰਤਨੀ ॥
सभि आए हुकमि खसमाहु हुकमि सभ वरतनी ॥
Sabẖ ā▫e hukam kẖasmāhu hukam sabẖ varṯanī.
All come by the Master's command and his order extends over all.

ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਸਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੀ ॥੧॥
सचु साहिबु साचा खेलु सभु हरि धनी ॥१॥
Sacẖ sāhib sācẖā kẖel sabẖ har ḏẖanī. ||1||
True is the Lord and true His play. He, the Lord Master, is pervading everywhere.

ਸਾਲਾਹਿਹੁ ਸਚੁ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੀ ॥
सालाहिहु सचु सभ ऊपरि हरि धनी ॥
Sālāhihu sacẖ sabẖ ūpar har ḏẖanī.
Praise the True Lord. God, the Master is over all.

ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ਸਰੀਕੁ ਕਿਸੁ ਲੇਖੈ ਹਉ ਗਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जिसु नाही कोइ सरीकु किसु लेखै हउ गनी ॥ रहाउ ॥
Jis nāhī ko▫e sarīk kis lekẖai ha▫o ganī. Rahā▫o.
No one is His equal: of what account am I? Pause.

ਪਉਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਆਕਾਸੁ ਘਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਹਰਿ ਬਨੀ ॥
पउण पाणी धरती आकासु घर मंदर हरि बनी ॥
Pa▫uṇ pāṇī ḏẖarṯī ākās gẖar manḏar har banī.
Air, water, earth and sky, these the Lord has make His home and mansion.

ਵਿਚਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਝੂਠੁ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਆ ਗਨੀ ॥੨॥੧॥
विचि वरतै नानक आपि झूठु कहु किआ गनी ॥२॥१॥
vicẖ varṯai Nānak āp jẖūṯẖ kaho ki▫ā ganī. ||2||1||
The Lord Himself is contained amongst all. Say, what can be accounted false?

ਨਿਤ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ਬਫਾਵੈ ਦੁਰਮਤੀਆ ॥
नित निहफल करम कमाइ बफावै दुरमतीआ ॥
Niṯ nihfal karam kamā▫e bafāvai ḏurmaṯī▫ā.
The evil-minded person ever does fruitless acts and is puffed up with pride.

ਜਬ ਆਣੈ ਵਲਵੰਚ ਕਰਿ ਝੂਠੁ ਤਬ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਗੁ ਜਿਤੀਆ ॥੧॥
जब आणै वलवंच करि झूठु तब जाणै जगु जितीआ ॥१॥
Jab āṇai valvancẖ kar jẖūṯẖ ṯab jāṇai jag jiṯī▫ā. ||1||
Practising deceit and falsehood, when he brings me something then he thinks he has conquered the world.

ਐਸਾ ਬਾਜੀ ਸੈਸਾਰੁ ਨ ਚੇਤੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
ऐसा बाजी सैसारु न चेतै हरि नामा ॥
Aisā bājī saisār na cẖeṯai har nāmā.
Such is the game of the world, that, the mortal contemplates not the Lord's Name.

ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਸਭੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਧਿਆਇ ਰਾਮਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
खिन महि बिनसै सभु झूठु मेरे मन धिआइ रामा ॥ रहाउ ॥
Kẖin mėh binsai sabẖ jẖūṯẖ mere man ḏẖi▫ā▫e rāmā. Rahā▫o.
In a moment, all this false play shall perish. O my mind, meditate thou on the Lord. Pause.

ਸਾ ਵੇਲਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਆਇ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਗ੍ਰਸੈ ॥
सा वेला चिति न आवै जितु आइ कंटकु कालु ग्रसै ॥
Sā velā cẖiṯ na āvai jiṯ ā▫e kantak kāl garsai.
That time comes not to my mind, when the torturous death shall come and seize me.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸੈ ॥੨॥੨॥
तिसु नानक लए छडाइ जिसु किरपा करि हिरदै वसै ॥२॥२॥
Ŧis Nānak la▫e cẖẖadā▫e jis kirpā kar hirḏai vasai. ||2||2||
Nanak, the Lord redeems him, within whose mind He mercifully dwells.

There is but One God. By True Guru's grace is He obtained.

ਖਾਕ ਨੂਰ ਕਰਦੰ ਆਲਮ ਦੁਨੀਆਇ ॥
खाक नूर करदं आलम दुनीआइ ॥
Kẖāk nūr karḏaʼn ālam ḏunī▫ā▫e.
Infusing His light into the dust, the Lord has make the universe and the world.

ਅਸਮਾਨ ਜਿਮੀ ਦਰਖਤ ਆਬ ਪੈਦਾਇਸਿ ਖੁਦਾਇ ॥੧॥
असमान जिमी दरखत आब पैदाइसि खुदाइ ॥१॥
Asmān jimī ḏarkẖaṯ āb paiḏā▫is kẖuḏā▫e. ||1||
The sky, earth, trees and water are the Lord's creation.
|
ਬੰਦੇ ਚਸਮ ਦੀਦੰ ਫਨਾਇ ॥
बंदे चसम दीदं फनाइ ॥
Banḏe cẖasam ḏīḏaʼn fanā▫e.
O man, whatever the eye sees, is perishable.
|
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਮੁਰਦਾਰ ਖੁਰਦਨੀ ਗਾਫਲ ਹਵਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
दुनींआ मुरदार खुरदनी गाफल हवाइ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḏunīʼn▫ā murḏār kẖurḏanī gāfal havā▫e. Rahā▫o.
The world is an eater of carrion, neglectful of God, and avaricious. Pause.

ਗੈਬਾਨ ਹੈਵਾਨ ਹਰਾਮ ਕੁਸਤਨੀ ਮੁਰਦਾਰ ਬਖੋਰਾਇ ॥
गैबान हैवान हराम कुसतनी मुरदार बखोराइ ॥
Gaibān haivān harām kusṯanī murḏār bakẖorā▫e.
Like a ghost and a beast, the world kills the forbidden and eats the carrion.
|
ਦਿਲ ਕਬਜ ਕਬਜਾ ਕਾਦਰੋ ਦੋਜਕ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
दिल कबज कबजा कादरो दोजक सजाइ ॥२॥
Ḏil kabaj kabjā kāḏro ḏojak sajā▫e. ||2||
Restrain thy heart, otherwise seizing thee, the Omnipotent Lord shall punish thee in hell.

ਵਲੀ ਨਿਆਮਤਿ ਬਿਰਾਦਰਾ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਮਿਲਕ ਖਾਨਾਇ ॥
वली निआमति बिरादरा दरबार मिलक खानाइ ॥
valī ni▫āmaṯ birāḏarā ḏarbār milak kẖānā▫e.
The patrons, dainties, brothers, courts, lands and homes.
|
ਜਬ ਅਜਰਾਈਲੁ ਬਸਤਨੀ ਤਬ ਚਿ ਕਾਰੇ ਬਿਦਾਇ ॥੩॥
जब अजराईलु बसतनी तब चि कारे बिदाइ ॥३॥
Jab ajrā▫īl basṯanī ṯab cẖe kāre biḏā▫e. ||3||
Tell me, of what avail shall these be to thee then, when Azrail, the death's myrmidon seizes thee.
|
ਹਵਾਲ ਮਾਲੂਮੁ ਕਰਦੰ ਪਾਕ ਅਲਾਹ ॥
हवाल मालूमु करदं पाक अलाह ॥
Havāl mālūm karḏaʼn pāk alāh.
My immaculate Lord Knows thy condition.

ਬੁਗੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਪੇਸਿ ਦਰਵੇਸ ਬੰਦਾਹ ॥੪॥੧॥
बुगो नानक अरदासि पेसि दरवेस बंदाह ॥४॥१॥
Bugo Nānak arḏās pes ḏarves banḏāh. ||4||1||
O Nanak, say thy prayer to the pious persons to lead thee to the right path.
|
ਤਿਲੰਗ ਘਰੁ ੨ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
तुधु बिनु दूजा नाही कोइ ॥
Ŧuḏẖ bin ḏūjā nāhī ko▫e.
Without Thee, there is not any other.
|
ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ॥
तू करतारु करहि सो होइ ॥
Ŧū karṯār karahi so ho▫e.
Thou art the Creator, What Thou doest, that alone happens.
|
ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋਰੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਨਿ ਟੇਕ ॥
तेरा जोरु तेरी मनि टेक ॥
Ŧerā jor ṯerī man tek.
Thine is the strength, and Thine the support within my mind.
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕ ॥੧॥
सदा सदा जपि नानक एक ॥१॥
Saḏā saḏā jap Nānak ek. ||1||
Ever and ever, dwell thou on the one Lord, O Nanak.
|
ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥
सभ ऊपरि पारब्रहमु दातारु ॥
Sabẖ ūpar pārbarahm ḏāṯār.
Over all is the Beneficent supreme Lord.

ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तेरी टेक तेरा आधारु ॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧerī tek ṯerā āḏẖār. Rahā▫o.
Thou, O Lord art my support and Thou the mainstay. Pause.
