ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥
आदेसु तिसै आदेसु ॥
Aaḋés ṫisæ aaḋés.
Obeisance, my obeisance is unto that Lord.

ਆਦਿ ਅਨੀਲੁ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਤਿ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਸੁ ॥੨੯॥
आदि अनीलु अनादि अनाहति जुगु जुगु एको वेसु ॥२९॥
Aaḋ aneel anaaḋ anaahaṫ jug jug éko vés. ||29||
He is primal, pure sans beginning, indestructible and of the same one vesture through all the ages.
|
ਏਕਾ ਮਾਈ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਿਆਈ ਤਿਨਿ ਚੇਲੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
एका माई जुगति विआई तिनि चेले परवाणु ॥
Ékaa maa▫ee jugaṫ vi▫aa▫ee ṫin chélé parvaaṇ.
The unique Mother (Master) formulating a plan of propagation installed three approved disciples.

ਇਕੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਇਕੁ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਇਕੁ ਲਾਏ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ॥
इकु संसारी इकु भंडारी इकु लाए दीबाणु ॥
Ik sansaaree ik bʰandaaree ik laa▫é ḋeebaaṇ.
One the world’s creator (Brahma), one steward who gives sustenance (Vishnu) and one who has the disposition of destroying (Shiva).

ਜਿਵ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਵੈ ਜਿਵ ਹੋਵੈ ਫੁਰਮਾਣੁ ॥
जिव तिसु भावै तिवै चलावै जिव होवै फुरमाणु ॥
Jiv ṫis bʰaavæ ṫivæ chalaavæ jiv hovæ furmaaṇ.
As it pleases Him and as is His order, He makes them walk.
|
ਓਹੁ ਵੇਖੈ ਓਨਾ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਏਹੁ ਵਿਡਾਣੁ ॥
ओहु वेखै ओना नदरि न आवै बहुता एहु विडाणु ॥
Oh vékʰæ onaa naḋar na aavæ bahuṫaa éhu vidaaṇ.
He beholds them but they see Him not. This is the greatest wonder.

ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥
आदेसु तिसै आदेसु ॥
Aaḋés ṫisæ aaḋés.
Obeisance my obeisance is unto the Lord.

ਆਦਿ ਅਨੀਲੁ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਤਿ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਸੁ ॥੩੦॥
आदि अनीलु अनादि अनाहति जुगु जुगु एको वेसु ॥३०॥
Aaḋ aneel anaaḋ anaahaṫ jug jug éko vés. ||30||
He is primal, pure, sans beginning, indestructible and of the same one vesture all the ages through.

ਆਸਣੁ ਲੋਇ ਲੋਇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
आसणु लोइ लोइ भंडार ॥
Aasaṇ lo▫é lo▫é bʰandaar.
Lord’s seat and store houses are in all the worlds.
|
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁ ਏਕਾ ਵਾਰ ॥
जो किछु पाइआ सु एका वार ॥
Jo kichʰ paa▫i▫aa so ékaa vaar.
Whatever was put into them, was put but once for all.
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
करि करि वेखै सिरजणहारु ॥
Kar kar vékʰæ sirjaṇhaar.
Having created the creation the creator is beholding it.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਕਾਰ ॥
नानक सचे की साची कार ॥
Naanak saché kee saachee kaar.
O Nanak! True is the work of the True Lord.
|
ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥
आदेसु तिसै आदेसु ॥
Aaḋés ṫisæ aaḋés.

ਆਦਿ ਅਨੀਲੁ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਤਿ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਸੁ ॥੩੧॥
आदि अनीलु अनादि अनाहति जुगु जुगु एको वेसु ॥३१॥
Aaḋ aneel anaaḋ anaahaṫ jug jug éko vés. ||31||
He is primal, pure, sans beginning, indestructible and of the same one vesture all the ages through.

ਇਕ ਦੂ ਜੀਭੌ ਲਖ ਹੋਹਿ ਲਖ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਲਖ ਵੀਸ ॥
इक दू जीभौ लख होहि लख होवहि लख वीस ॥
Ik ḋoo jeebʰou lakʰ hohi lakʰ hovėh lakʰ vees.
From one tongue let my tongues become a lakh and the hundred thousand become twenty lakhs.

ਲਖੁ ਲਖੁ ਗੇੜਾ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥
लखु लखु गेड़ा आखीअहि एकु नामु जगदीस ॥
Lakʰ lakʰ géṛaa aakʰee▫ahi ék naam jagḋees.
With each tongue lakhs over lakhs times, I would repeat the Name of the world’s Lord.
|
ਏਤੁ ਰਾਹਿ ਪਤਿ ਪਵੜੀਆ ਚੜੀਐ ਹੋਇ ਇਕੀਸ ॥
एतु राहि पति पवड़ीआ चड़ीऐ होइ इकीस ॥
Éṫ raahi paṫ pavṛee▫aa chaṛee▫æ ho▫é ikees.
In this way of the Bridegroom, there are ladders, by ascending whose steps, I would become one with Him.

ਸੁਣਿ ਗਲਾ ਆਕਾਸ ਕੀ ਕੀਟਾ ਆਈ ਰੀਸ ॥
सुणि गला आकास की कीटा आई रीस ॥
Suṇ galaa aakaas kee keetaa aa▫ee rees.
By hearing celestial things even worms (the vile) wish to emulate.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਕੂੜੀ ਕੂੜੈ ਠੀਸ ॥੩੨॥
नानक नदरी पाईऐ कूड़ी कूड़ै ठीस ॥३२॥
Naanak naḋree paa▫ee▫æ kooṛee kooṛæ tʰees. ||32||
O Nanak! God is obtained by His grace and false is the boasting of the false.
|
ਆਖਣਿ ਜੋਰੁ ਚੁਪੈ ਨਹ ਜੋਰੁ ॥
आखणि जोरु चुपै नह जोरु ॥
Aakʰaṇ jor chupæ nah jor.
I have no power to speak and no power to remain silent.
|
ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਮੰਗਣਿ ਦੇਣਿ ਨ ਜੋਰੁ ॥
जोरु न मंगणि देणि न जोरु ॥
Jor na mangaṇ ḋéṇ na jor.
I have no power to beg and no power to give.
|
ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਜੀਵਣਿ ਮਰਣਿ ਨਹ ਜੋਰੁ ॥
जोरु न जीवणि मरणि नह जोरु ॥
Jor na jeevaṇ maraṇ nah jor.
I have no strength to live and no strength to die.
|
ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਰਾਜਿ ਮਾਲਿ ਮਨਿ ਸੋਰੁ ॥
जोरु न राजि मालि मनि सोरु ॥
Jor na raaj maal man sor.
I have no strength to acquire empire and wealth, which stir up a commotion in the mind.
|
ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
जोरु न सुरती गिआनि वीचारि ॥
Jor na surṫee gi▫aan veechaar.
I have no power to gain understanding of Divine Knowledge and Lord’s meditation.
|
ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਛੁਟੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
जोरु न जुगती छुटै संसारु ॥
Jor na jugṫee chʰutæ sansaar.
I have no power to find the way to escape from the world.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਹਥਿ ਜੋਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
जिसु हथि जोरु करि वेखै सोइ ॥
Jis haṫʰ jor kar vékʰæ so▫é.
He, in whose hand the power is, exercises and beholds it.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤਮੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੩੩॥
नानक उतमु नीचु न कोइ ॥३३॥
Naanak uṫam neech na ko▫é. ||33||
O Nanak! By one’s own strength, none can be good or bad.

ਰਾਤੀ ਰੁਤੀ ਥਿਤੀ ਵਾਰ ॥
राती रुती थिती वार ॥
Raaṫee ruṫee ṫʰiṫee vaar.
God created nights, seasons, lunar days, week days,
|
ਪਵਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਅਗਨੀ ਪਾਤਾਲ ॥
पवण पाणी अगनी पाताल ॥
Pavaṇ paaṇee agnee paaṫaal.
wind, water, fire and nether lands.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਧਰਤੀ ਥਾਪਿ ਰਖੀ ਧਰਮ ਸਾਲ ॥
तिसु विचि धरती थापि रखी धरम साल ॥
Ṫis vich ḋʰarṫee ṫʰaap rakʰee ḋʰaram saal.
In the midst of these He established the earth as a home for the Lord’s meditation.

ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੀਅ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕੇ ਰੰਗ ॥
तिसु विचि जीअ जुगति के रंग ॥
Ṫis vich jee▫a jugaṫ ké rang.
There-in He placed beings of various types and colours.
|
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
तिन के नाम अनेक अनंत ॥
Ṫin ké naam anék ananṫ.
Various and endless are their names.
|
ਕਰਮੀ ਕਰਮੀ ਹੋਇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
करमी करमी होइ वीचारु ॥
Karmee karmee ho▫é veechaar.
They are judged according to their deeds and actions.
|
ਸਚਾ ਆਪਿ ਸਚਾ ਦਰਬਾਰੁ ॥
सचा आपि सचा दरबारु ॥
Sachaa aap sachaa ḋarbaar.
The Lord Himself is true and true His Court.
|
ਤਿਥੈ ਸੋਹਨਿ ਪੰਚ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
तिथै सोहनि पंच परवाणु ॥
Ṫiṫʰæ sohan panch parvaaṇ.
There the accepted saints look graceful
|
ਨਦਰੀ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਵੈ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥
नदरी करमि पवै नीसाणु ॥
Naḋree karam pavæ neesaaṇ.
and they come to bear the mark of the grace of the merciful Master.
|
ਕਚ ਪਕਾਈ ਓਥੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
कच पकाई ओथै पाइ ॥
Kach pakaa▫ee oṫʰæ paa▫é.
The bad and the good shall, there, be assayed.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਗਇਆ ਜਾਪੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੩੪॥
नानक गइआ जापै जाइ ॥३४॥
Naanak ga▫i▫aa jaapæ jaa▫é. ||34||
O Nanak! On arrival at that place this shall be seen.

ਧਰਮ ਖੰਡ ਕਾ ਏਹੋ ਧਰਮੁ ॥
धरम खंड का एहो धरमु ॥
Ḋʰaram kʰand kaa ého ḋʰaram.
This aforesaid is the moral duty of the realm of righteousness.
|
ਗਿਆਨ ਖੰਡ ਕਾ ਆਖਹੁ ਕਰਮੁ ॥
गिआन खंड का आखहु करमु ॥
Gi▫aan kʰand kaa aakʰhu karam.
Now I describe the doings of the realm of knowledge.
|
ਕੇਤੇ ਪਵਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਵੈਸੰਤਰ ਕੇਤੇ ਕਾਨ ਮਹੇਸ ॥
केते पवण पाणी वैसंतर केते कान महेस ॥
Kéṫé pavaṇ paaṇee væsanṫar kéṫé kaan mahés.
Good many are winds, waters, fires and good many Krishanas and Shivas.

ਕੇਤੇ ਬਰਮੇ ਘਾੜਤਿ ਘੜੀਅਹਿ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਕੇ ਵੇਸ ॥
केते बरमे घाड़ति घड़ीअहि रूप रंग के वेस ॥
Kéṫé barmé gʰaaṛaṫ gʰaṛee▫ahi roop rang ké vés.
There are many Barhmas, who are fashioning forms, and many beauties, colours and raiments.
|
ਕੇਤੀਆ ਕਰਮ ਭੂਮੀ ਮੇਰ ਕੇਤੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਧੂ ਉਪਦੇਸ ॥
केतीआ करम भूमी मेर केते केते धू उपदेस ॥
Kéṫee▫aa karam bʰoomee mér kéṫé kéṫé ḋʰoo upḋés.
Numberless are the earths and the mountains for doing virtuous deeds and numberless over numberless Dhrus, the instruction receivers.
|
ਕੇਤੇ ਇੰਦ ਚੰਦ ਸੂਰ ਕੇਤੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਮੰਡਲ ਦੇਸ ॥
केते इंद चंद सूर केते केते मंडल देस ॥
Kéṫé inḋ chanḋ soor kéṫé kéṫé mandal ḋés.
Numberless are Indras, the moons the suns, numberless universes and numberless countries.
|
ਕੇਤੇ ਸਿਧ ਬੁਧ ਨਾਥ ਕੇਤੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਵੇਸ ॥
केते सिध बुध नाथ केते केते देवी वेस ॥
Kéṫé siḋʰ buḋʰ naaṫʰ kéṫé kéṫé ḋévee vés.
Innumerable there are proficients, Gautamas, great yogis and innumerable over innumerable the forms of goddesses.
|
ਕੇਤੇ ਦੇਵ ਦਾਨਵ ਮੁਨਿ ਕੇਤੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਰਤਨ ਸਮੁੰਦ ॥
केते देव दानव मुनि केते केते रतन समुंद ॥
Kéṫé ḋév ḋaanav mun kéṫé kéṫé raṫan samunḋ.
How many deities, demons and silent sages and how many over many oceans and jewels.
|
ਕੇਤੀਆ ਖਾਣੀ ਕੇਤੀਆ ਬਾਣੀ ਕੇਤੇ ਪਾਤ ਨਰਿੰਦ ॥
केतीआ खाणी केतीआ बाणी केते पात नरिंद ॥
Kéṫee▫aa kʰaaṇee kéṫee▫aa baṇee kéṫé paaṫ narinḋ.
How many the mines of production, languages and many the dynasties of kings (or masters of men).
|
ਕੇਤੀਆ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੇਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਅੰਤੁ ॥੩੫॥
केतीआ सुरती सेवक केते नानक अंतु न अंतु ॥३५॥
Kéṫee▫aa surṫee sévak kéṫé Naanak anṫ na anṫ. ||35||
Countless are the men of Divine knowledge and countless the servants of God. O Nanak! There is no limit to His bounds.

ਗਿਆਨ ਖੰਡ ਮਹਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਪਰਚੰਡੁ ॥
गिआन खंड महि गिआनु परचंडु ॥
Gi▫aan kʰand mėh gi▫aan parchand.
In the domain of knowledge Divine deliberation is greatly resplendent.
|
ਤਿਥੈ ਨਾਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕੋਡ ਅਨੰਦੁ ॥
तिथै नाद बिनोद कोड अनंदु ॥
Ṫiṫʰæ naaḋ binoḋ kod anand.
Celestial strain resounds there from whom myriads of amusements and joys proceed.
