ਮਗਰ ਪਾਛੈ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ਏਹੁ ਪਦਮੁ ਅਲੋਅ ॥੨॥
मगर पाछै कछु न सूझै एहु पदमु अलोअ ॥२॥
Magar pācẖẖai kacẖẖ na sūjẖai ehu paḏam alo▫a. ||2||
But they cannot even see what is behind them. What a strange lotus pose this is! ||2||

ਖਤ੍ਰੀਆ ਤ ਧਰਮੁ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਮਲੇਛ ਭਾਖਿਆ ਗਹੀ ॥
खत्रीआ त धरमु छोडिआ मलेछ भाखिआ गही ॥
Kẖaṯarī▫ā ṯa ḏẖaram cẖẖodi▫ā malecẖẖ bẖākẖi▫ā gahī.
The K'shatriyas have abandoned their religion, and have adopted a foreign language.

ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭ ਇਕ ਵਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਰਹੀ ॥੩॥
स्रिसटि सभ इक वरन होई धरम की गति रही ॥३॥
Sarisat sabẖ ik varan ho▫ī ḏẖaram kī gaṯ rahī. ||3||
The whole world has been reduced to the same social status; the state of righteousness and Dharma has been lost. ||3||

ਅਸਟ ਸਾਜ ਸਾਜਿ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸੋਧਹਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਬੇਦ ਅਭਿਆਸੁ ॥
असट साज साजि पुराण सोधहि करहि बेद अभिआसु ॥
Asat sāj sāj purāṇ soḏẖėh karahi beḏ abẖi▫ās.
They analyze eight chapters of (Panini's) grammar and the Puraanas. They study the Vedas,

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ॥੪॥੧॥੬॥੮॥
बिनु नाम हरि के मुकति नाही कहै नानकु दासु ॥४॥१॥६॥८॥
Bin nām har ke mukaṯ nāhī kahai Nānak ḏās. ||4||1||6||8||
but without the Lord's Name, no one is liberated; so says Nanak, the Lord's slave. ||4||1||6||8||

ਗਗਨ ਮੈ ਥਾਲੁ ਰਵਿ ਚੰਦੁ ਦੀਪਕ ਬਨੇ ਤਾਰਿਕਾ ਮੰਡਲ ਜਨਕ ਮੋਤੀ ॥
गगन मै थालु रवि चंदु दीपक बने तारिका मंडल जनक मोती ॥
Gagan mai thāl rav cẖanḏ ḏīpak bane ṯārikā mandal janak moṯī.
In the bowl of the sky, the sun and moon are the lamps; the stars in the constellations are the pearls.

ਧੂਪੁ ਮਲਆਨਲੋ ਪਵਣੁ ਚਵਰੋ ਕਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਬਨਰਾਇ ਫੂਲੰਤ ਜੋਤੀ ॥੧॥
धूपु मलआनलो पवणु चवरो करे सगल बनराइ फूलंत जोती ॥१॥
Ḏẖūp mal▫ānlo pavaṇ cẖavro kare sagal banrā▫e fūlanṯ joṯī. ||1||
The fragrance of sandalwood is the incense, the wind is the fan, and all the vegetation are flowers in offering to You, O Luminous Lord. ||1||
|
ਕੈਸੀ ਆਰਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਭਵ ਖੰਡਨਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਰਤੀ ॥
कैसी आरती होइ भव खंडना तेरी आरती ॥
Kaisī ārṯī ho▫e bẖav kẖandnā ṯerī ārṯī.
What a beautiful lamp-lit worship service this is! O Destroyer of fear, this is Your Aartee, Your worship service.

ਅਨਹਤਾ ਸਬਦ ਵਾਜੰਤ ਭੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अनहता सबद वाजंत भेरी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Anhaṯā sabaḏ vājanṯ bẖerī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The sound current of the Shabad is the sounding of the temple drums. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਹਸ ਤਵ ਨੈਨ ਨਨ ਨੈਨ ਹੈ ਤੋਹਿ ਕਉ ਸਹਸ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਨਨਾ ਏਕ ਤੋਹੀ ॥
सहस तव नैन नन नैन है तोहि कउ सहस मूरति नना एक तोही ॥
Sahas ṯav nain nan nain hai ṯohi ka▫o sahas mūraṯ nanā ek ṯohī.
Thousands are Your eyes, and yet You have no eyes. Thousands are Your forms, and yet You have not even one form.

ਸਹਸ ਪਦ ਬਿਮਲ ਨਨ ਏਕ ਪਦ ਗੰਧ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਹਸ ਤਵ ਗੰਧ ਇਵ ਚਲਤ ਮੋਹੀ ॥੨॥
सहस पद बिमल नन एक पद गंध बिनु सहस तव गंध इव चलत मोही ॥२॥
Sahas paḏ bimal nan ek paḏ ganḏẖ bin sahas ṯav ganḏẖ iv cẖalaṯ mohī. ||2||
Thousands are Your lotus feet, and yet You have no feet. Without a nose, thousands are Your noses. I am enchanted with Your play! ||2||
|
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਹੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
सभ महि जोति जोति है सोइ ॥
Sabẖ mėh joṯ joṯ hai so▫e.
The Divine Light is within everyone; You are that Light.
|
ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਚਾਨਣਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
तिस कै चानणि सभ महि चानणु होइ ॥
Ŧis kai cẖānaṇ sabẖ mėh cẖānaṇ ho▫e.
Yours is that Light which shines within everyone.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸਾਖੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
गुर साखी जोति परगटु होइ ॥
Gur sākẖī joṯ pargat ho▫e.
By the Guru's Teachings, this Divine Light is revealed.
|
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਆਰਤੀ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
जो तिसु भावै सु आरती होइ ॥३॥
Jo ṯis bẖāvai so ārṯī ho▫e. ||3||
That which pleases the Lord is the true worship service. ||3||
|
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਮਕਰੰਦ ਲੋਭਿਤ ਮਨੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੋ ਮੋਹਿ ਆਹੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ॥
हरि चरण कमल मकरंद लोभित मनो अनदिनो मोहि आही पिआसा ॥
Har cẖaraṇ kamal makranḏ lobẖiṯ mano anḏino mohi āhī pi▫āsā.
My soul is enticed by the honey-sweet lotus feet of the Lord; night and day, I thirst for them.

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਜਲੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਰਿੰਗ ਕਉ ਹੋਇ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਾਸਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥੯॥
क्रिपा जलु देहि नानक सारिंग कउ होइ जा ते तेरै नामि वासा ॥४॥१॥७॥९॥
Kirpā jal ḏėh Nānak sāring ka▫o ho▫e jā ṯe ṯerai nām vāsā. ||4||1||7||9||
Bless Nanak, the thirsty song-bird, with the water of Your Mercy, that he may come to dwell in Your Name. ||4||1||7||9||

धनासरी महला ३ घरु २ चउपदे

ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਨ ਨਿਖੁਟੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
इहु धनु अखुटु न निखुटै न जाइ ॥
Ih ḏẖan akẖut na nikẖutai na jā▫e.
This wealth is inexhaustible. It shall never be exhausted, and it shall never be lost.
|
ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥
पूरै सतिगुरि दीआ दिखाइ ॥
Pūrai saṯgur ḏī▫ā ḏikẖā▫e.
The Perfect True Guru has revealed it to me.
|
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
अपुने सतिगुर कउ सद बलि जाई ॥
Apune saṯgur ka▫o saḏ bal jā▫ī.
I am forever a sacrifice to my True Guru.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥੧॥
गुर किरपा ते हरि मंनि वसाई ॥१॥
Gur kirpā ṯe har man vasā▫ī. ||1||
By Guru's Grace, I have enshrined the Lord within my mind. ||1||
|
ਸੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
से धनवंत हरि नामि लिव लाइ ॥
Se ḏẖanvanṯ har nām liv lā▫e.
They alone are wealthy, who lovingly attune themselves to the Lord's Name.
|
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुरि पूरै हरि धनु परगासिआ हरि किरपा ते वसै मनि आइ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur pūrai har ḏẖan pargāsi▫ā har kirpā ṯe vasai man ā▫e. Rahā▫o.
The Perfect Guru has revealed to me the Lord's treasure; by the Lord's Grace, it has come to abide in my mind. ||Pause||

ਅਵਗੁਣ ਕਾਟਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
अवगुण काटि गुण रिदै समाइ ॥
Avguṇ kāt guṇ riḏai samā▫e.
He is rid of his demerits, and his heart is permeated with merit and virtue.
|
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
पूरे गुर कै सहजि सुभाइ ॥
Pūre gur kai sahj subẖā▫e.
By Guru's Grace, he naturally dwells in celestial peace.
|
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
पूरे गुर की साची बाणी ॥
Pūre gur kī sācẖī baṇī.
True is the Word of the Perfect Guru's Bani.
|
ਸੁਖ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
सुख मन अंतरि सहजि समाणी ॥२॥
Sukẖ man anṯar sahj samāṇī. ||2||
They bring peace to the mind, and celestial peace is absorbed within. ||2||
|
ਏਕੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਜਨ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
एकु अचरजु जन देखहु भाई ॥
Ėk acẖraj jan ḏekẖhu bẖā▫ī.
O my humble Siblings of Destiny, behold this strange and wonderful thing:

ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥
दुबिधा मारि हरि मंनि वसाई ॥
Ḏubiḏẖā mār har man vasā▫ī.
duality is overcome, and the Lord dwells within his mind.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲਕੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
नामु अमोलकु न पाइआ जाइ ॥
Nām amolak na pā▫i▫ā jā▫e.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is priceless; it cannot be taken.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੩॥
गुर परसादि वसै मनि आइ ॥३॥
Gur parsāḏ vasai man ā▫e. ||3||
By Guru's Grace, it comes to abide in the mind. ||3||
|
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਸੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥
सभ महि वसै प्रभु एको सोइ ॥
Sabẖ mėh vasai parabẖ eko so▫e.
He is the One God, abiding within all.
|
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
गुरमती घटि परगटु होइ ॥
Gurmaṯī gẖat pargat ho▫e.
Through the Guru's Teachings, He is revealed in the heart.
|
ਸਹਜੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣਿ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥
सहजे जिनि प्रभु जाणि पछाणिआ ॥
Sėhje jin parabẖ jāṇ pacẖẖāṇi▫ā.
One who intuitively knows and realizes God,
|
