ਇਕ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਲਹੀਐ
इक बसतु अगोचर लहीऐ ॥
Ik basaṯ agocẖar lahī▫ai.
to find the incomprehensible thing.

ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਪਾਈ
बसतु अगोचर पाई ॥
Basaṯ agocẖar pā▫ī.
I have found this incomprehensible thing;

ਘਟਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨॥
घटि दीपकु रहिआ समाई ॥२॥
Gẖat ḏīpak rahi▫ā samā▫ī. ||2||
my mind is illuminated and enlightened. ||2||

ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਅਬ ਜਾਨਿਆ
कहि कबीर अब जानिआ ॥
Kahi Kabīr ab jāni▫ā.
Says Kabeer, now I know Him;

ਜਬ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ
जब जानिआ तउ मनु मानिआ ॥
Jab jāni▫ā ṯa▫o man māni▫ā.
since I know Him, my mind is pleased and appeased.

ਮਨ ਮਾਨੇ ਲੋਗੁ ਪਤੀਜੈ
मन माने लोगु न पतीजै ॥
Man māne log na paṯījai.
My mind is pleased and appeased, and yet, people do not believe it.

ਪਤੀਜੈ ਤਉ ਕਿਆ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੩॥੭॥
न पतीजै तउ किआ कीजै ॥३॥७॥
Na paṯījai ṯa▫o ki▫ā kījai. ||3||7||
They do not believe it, so what can I do? ||3||7||

ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਕਪਟੁ ਮੁਖ ਗਿਆਨੀ
ह्रिदै कपटु मुख गिआनी ॥
Hirḏai kapat mukẖ gi▫ānī.
In his heart there is deception, and yet in his mouth are words of wisdom.

ਝੂਠੇ ਕਹਾ ਬਿਲੋਵਸਿ ਪਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
झूठे कहा बिलोवसि पानी ॥१॥
Jẖūṯẖe kahā bilovas pānī. ||1||
You are false - why are you churning water? ||1||

ਕਾਂਇਆ ਮਾਂਜਸਿ ਕਉਨ ਗੁਨਾਂ
कांइआ मांजसि कउन गुनां ॥
Kāʼn▫i▫ā māʼnjas ka▫un gunāʼn.
Why do you bother to wash your body?

ਜਉ ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਹੈ ਮਲਨਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जउ घट भीतरि है मलनां ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ja▫o gẖat bẖīṯar hai malnāʼn. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Your heart is still full of filth. ||1||Pause||

ਲਉਕੀ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਈ
लउकी अठसठि तीरथ न्हाई ॥
La▫ukī aṯẖsaṯẖ ṯirath nĥā▫ī.
The gourd may be washed at the sixty-eight sacred shrines,

ਕਉਰਾਪਨੁ ਤਊ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
कउरापनु तऊ न जाई ॥२॥
Ka▫urāpan ṯa▫ū na jā▫ī. ||2||
but even then, its bitterness is not removed. ||2||

ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ
कहि कबीर बीचारी ॥
Kahi Kabīr bīcẖārī.
Says Kabeer after deep contemplation,

ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਾਰਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੩॥੮॥
भव सागरु तारि मुरारी ॥३॥८॥
Bẖav sāgar ṯār murārī. ||3||8||
please help me cross over the terrifying world-ocean, O Lord, O Destroyer of ego. ||3||8||

Sorat'h:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਬਹੁ ਪਰਪੰਚ ਕਰਿ ਪਰ ਧਨੁ ਲਿਆਵੈ
बहु परपंच करि पर धनु लिआवै ॥
Baho parpancẖ kar par ḏẖan li▫āvai.
Practicing great hypocrisy, he acquires the wealth of others.

ਸੁਤ ਦਾਰਾ ਪਹਿ ਆਨਿ ਲੁਟਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
सुत दारा पहि आनि लुटावै ॥१॥
Suṯ ḏārā pėh ān lutāvai. ||1||
Returning home, he squanders it on his wife and children. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੂਲੇ ਕਪਟੁ ਕੀਜੈ
मन मेरे भूले कपटु न कीजै ॥
Man mere bẖūle kapat na kījai.
O my mind, do not practice deception, even inadvertently.

ਅੰਤਿ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਪਹਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
अंति निबेरा तेरे जीअ पहि लीजै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Anṯ niberā ṯere jī▫a pėh lījai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
In the end, your own soul shall have to answer for its account. ||1||Pause||

ਛਿਨੁ ਛਿਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਛੀਜੈ ਜਰਾ ਜਨਾਵੈ
छिनु छिनु तनु छीजै जरा जनावै ॥
Cẖẖin cẖẖin ṯan cẖẖījai jarā janāvai.
Moment by moment, the body is wearing away, and old age is asserting itself.

ਤਬ ਤੇਰੀ ਓਕ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਨੀਓ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
तब तेरी ओक कोई पानीओ न पावै ॥२॥
Ŧab ṯerī ok ko▫ī pānī▫o na pāvai. ||2||
And then, when you are old, no one shall pour water into your cup. ||2||

ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ
कहतु कबीरु कोई नही तेरा ॥
Kahaṯ Kabīr ko▫ī nahī ṯerā.
Says Kabeer, no one belongs to you.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਕੀ ਜਪਹਿ ਸਵੇਰਾ ॥੩॥੯॥
हिरदै रामु की न जपहि सवेरा ॥३॥९॥
Hirḏai rām kī na jāpėh saverā. ||3||9||
Why not chant the Lord's Name in your heart, when you are still young? ||3||9||

ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮਨ ਪਵਨੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਨਿਆ
संतहु मन पवनै सुखु बनिआ ॥
Sanṯahu man pavnai sukẖ bani▫ā.
O Saints, my windy mind has now become peaceful and still.

ਕਿਛੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਗਨਿਆ ਰਹਾਉ
किछु जोगु परापति गनिआ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Kicẖẖ jog parāpaṯ gani▫ā. Rahā▫o.
It seems that I have learned something of the science of Yoga. ||Pause||

ਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਖਲਾਈ ਮੋਰੀ
गुरि दिखलाई मोरी ॥
Gur ḏikẖlā▫ī morī.
The Guru has shown me the hole,

ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਰਗ ਪੜਤ ਹੈ ਚੋਰੀ
जितु मिरग पड़त है चोरी ॥
Jiṯ mirag paṛaṯ hai cẖorī.
through which the deer carefully enters.

ਮੂੰਦਿ ਲੀਏ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ
मूंदि लीए दरवाजे ॥
Mūnḏ lī▫e ḏarvāje.
I have now closed off the doors,

ਬਾਜੀਅਲੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਬਾਜੇ ॥੧॥
बाजीअले अनहद बाजे ॥१॥
Bājī▫ale anhaḏ bāje. ||1||
and the unstruck celestial sound current resounds. ||1||

ਕੁੰਭ ਕਮਲੁ ਜਲਿ ਭਰਿਆ
कु्मभ कमलु जलि भरिआ ॥
Kumbẖ kamal jal bẖari▫ā.
The pitcher of my heart-lotus is filled with water;

ਜਲੁ ਮੇਟਿਆ ਊਭਾ ਕਰਿਆ
जलु मेटिआ ऊभा करिआ ॥
Jal meti▫ā ūbẖā kari▫ā.
I have spilled out the water, and set it upright.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ
कहु कबीर जन जानिआ ॥
Kaho Kabīr jan jāni▫ā.
Says Kabeer, the Lord's humble servant, this I know.

ਜਉ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੨॥੧੦॥
जउ जानिआ तउ मनु मानिआ ॥२॥१०॥
Ja▫o jāni▫ā ṯa▫o man māni▫ā. ||2||10||
Now that I know this, my mind is pleased and appeased. ||2||10||

ਰਾਗੁ ਸੋਰਠਿ
रागु सोरठि ॥
Rāg soraṯẖ.
Raag Sorat'h:

ਭੂਖੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਕੀਜੈ
भूखे भगति न कीजै ॥
Bẖūkẖe bẖagaṯ na kījai.
I am so hungry, I cannot perform devotional worship service.

ਯਹ ਮਾਲਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਲੀਜੈ
यह माला अपनी लीजै ॥
Yėh mālā apnī lījai.
Here, Lord, take back Your mala.

ਹਉ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਸੰਤਨ ਰੇਨਾ
हउ मांगउ संतन रेना ॥
Ha▫o māʼnga▫o sanṯan renā.
I beg for the dust of the feet of the Saints.

ਮੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੀ ਕਾ ਦੇਨਾ ॥੧॥
मै नाही किसी का देना ॥१॥
Mai nāhī kisī kā ḏenā. ||1||
I do not owe anyone anything. ||1||

ਮਾਧੋ ਕੈਸੀ ਬਨੈ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗੇ
माधो कैसी बनै तुम संगे ॥
Māḏẖo kaisī banai ṯum sange.
O Lord, how can I be with You?

ਆਪਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਲੇਵਉ ਮੰਗੇ ਰਹਾਉ
आपि न देहु त लेवउ मंगे ॥ रहाउ ॥
Āp na ḏeh ṯa leva▫o mange. Rahā▫o.
If You do not give me Yourself, then I shall beg until I get You. ||Pause||

ਦੁਇ ਸੇਰ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਚੂਨਾ
दुइ सेर मांगउ चूना ॥
Ḏu▫e ser māʼnga▫o cẖūnā.
I ask for two kilos of flour,

ਪਾਉ ਘੀਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੂਨਾ
पाउ घीउ संगि लूना ॥
Pā▫o gẖī▫o sang lūnā.
and half a pound of ghee, and salt.

ਅਧ ਸੇਰੁ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਦਾਲੇ
अध सेरु मांगउ दाले ॥
Aḏẖ ser māʼnga▫o ḏāle.
I ask for a pound of beans,

ਮੋ ਕਉ ਦੋਨਉ ਵਖਤ ਜਿਵਾਲੇ ॥੨॥
मो कउ दोनउ वखत जिवाले ॥२॥
Mo ka▫o don▫o vakẖaṯ jivāle. ||2||
which I shall eat twice a day. ||2||

ਖਾਟ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਚਉਪਾਈ
खाट मांगउ चउपाई ॥
Kẖāt māʼnga▫o cẖa▫upā▫ī.
I ask for a cot, with four legs,

ਸਿਰਹਾਨਾ ਅਵਰ ਤੁਲਾਈ
सिरहाना अवर तुलाई ॥
Sirhānā avar ṯulā▫ī.
and a pillow and mattress.

ਊਪਰ ਕਉ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਖੀਂਧਾ
ऊपर कउ मांगउ खींधा ॥
Ūpar ka▫o māʼnga▫o kẖīʼnḏẖā.
I ask for a quit to cover myself.

ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੈ ਜਨੁ ਥੀਧਾ ॥੩॥
तेरी भगति करै जनु थींधा ॥३॥
Ŧerī bẖagaṯ karai jan thīʼnḏẖā. ||3||
Your humble servant shall perform Your devotional worship service with love. ||3||

ਮੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਲਬੋ
मै नाही कीता लबो ॥
Mai nāhī kīṯā labo.
I have no greed;

ਇਕੁ ਨਾਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੈ ਫਬੋ
इकु नाउ तेरा मै फबो ॥
Ik nā▫o ṯerā mai fabo.
Your Name is the only ornament I wish for.

ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ
कहि कबीर मनु मानिआ ॥
Kahi Kabīr man māni▫ā.
Says Kabeer, my mind is pleased and appeased;

ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੪॥੧੧॥
मनु मानिआ तउ हरि जानिआ ॥४॥११॥
Man māni▫ā ṯa▫o har jāni▫ā. ||4||11||
now that my mind is pleased and appeased, I have come to know the Lord. ||4||11||

ਰਾਗੁ ਸੋਰਠਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਭਗਤ ਨਾਮਦੇ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਘਰੁ
रागु सोरठि बाणी भगत नामदे जी की घरु २
Rāg soraṯẖ baṇī bẖagaṯ nāmḏe jī kī gẖar 2
Raag Sorat'h, The Word Of Devotee Naam Dayv Jee, Second House:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.

ਜਬ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਬ ਗਾਵਾ
जब देखा तब गावा ॥
Jab ḏekẖā ṯab gāvā.
When I see Him, I sing His Praises.

ਤਉ ਜਨ ਧੀਰਜੁ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੧॥
तउ जन धीरजु पावा ॥१॥
Ŧa▫o jan ḏẖīraj pāvā. ||1||
Then I, his humble servant, become patient. ||1||
