ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸਾਧ ਸਰਣਿ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ॥
मेरे मन साध सरणि छुटकारा ॥
Mere man sāḏẖ saraṇ cẖẖutkārā.
O my soul, emancipation is attained to by seeking the saints refuge.

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਰਹਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਤ ਬਾਰੋ ਬਾਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बिनु गुर पूरे जनम मरणु न रहई फिरि आवत बारो बारा ॥ रहाउ ॥
Bin gur pūre janam maraṇ na rah▫ī fir āvaṯ bāro bārā. Rahā▫o.
Without the Perfect Guru, births and deaths end not, rather the mortal comes over and over again. Pause.

ਓਹੁ ਜੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਭੁਲਾਵਾ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਤਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਉਰਝਿਓ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
ओहु जु भरमु भुलावा कहीअत तिन महि उरझिओ सगल संसारा ॥
Oh jo bẖaram bẖulāvā kahī▫aṯ ṯin mėh urjẖi▫o sagal sansārā.
That what is called the misgiving of illusion, in that is the whole world entangled.

ਪੂਰਨ ਭਗਤੁ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਾ ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਤੇ ਨਿਆਰਾ ॥੨॥
पूरन भगतु पुरख सुआमी का सरब थोक ते निआरा ॥२॥
Pūran bẖagaṯ purakẖ su▫āmī kā sarab thok ṯe ni▫ārā. ||2||
But the perfect saint of the omnipotent Lord remains detached from all the things.

ਨਿੰਦਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਾਹੂ ਬਾਤੈ ਏਹੁ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ॥
निंदउ नाही काहू बातै एहु खसम का कीआ ॥
Ninḏa▫o nāhī kāhū bāṯai ehu kẖasam kā kī▫ā.
Slander not the world for any thing for it is created by the Master.

ਜਾ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਾਉ ਲੀਆ ॥੩॥
जा कउ क्रिपा करी प्रभि मेरै मिलि साधसंगति नाउ लीआ ॥३॥
Jā ka▫o kirpā karī parabẖ merai mil sāḏẖsangaṯ nā▫o lī▫ā. ||3||
He, on whom is the grace of my Lord, meditates on the name, in the saints society.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਰਤ ਉਧਾਰਾ ॥
पारब्रहम परमेसुर सतिगुर सभना करत उधारा ॥
Pārbarahm parmesur saṯgur sabẖnā karaṯ uḏẖārā.
The True Guru is the embodiment of the Primal God, the Transcendent Lord, and he emancipates all.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਤਰੀਐ ਇਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੯॥
कहु नानक गुर बिनु नही तरीऐ इहु पूरन ततु बीचारा ॥४॥९॥
Kaho Nānak gur bin nahī ṯarī▫ai ih pūran ṯaṯ bīcẖārā. ||4||9||
Says Nanak, without the Guru, one swims not across. This is the perfect essence of all the deliberations.

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਤੁ ਸਾਰਾ ॥
खोजत खोजत खोजि बीचारिओ राम नामु ततु सारा ॥
Kẖojaṯ kẖojaṯ kẖoj bīcẖāri▫o rām nām ṯaṯ sārā.
Searching, searching and searching, I have concluded that the Lord's Name alone is he sublime reality.

ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਨਿਮਖ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
किलबिख काटे निमख अराधिआ गुरमुखि पारि उतारा ॥१॥
Kilbikẖ kāte nimakẖ arāḏẖi▫ā gurmukẖ pār uṯārā. ||1||
Contemplating on it, even for an instant, the sins are erased, and turning Guru-word, the mortal is ferried across.

ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਪੁਰਖ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
हरि रसु पीवहु पुरख गिआनी ॥
Har ras pīvhu purakẖ gi▫ānī.
O divine person, quaff thou the Lord's elixir.

ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਹਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सुणि सुणि महा त्रिपति मनु पावै साधू अम्रित बानी ॥ रहाउ ॥
Suṇ suṇ mahā ṯaripaṯ man pāvai sāḏẖū amriṯ bānī. Rahā▫o.
Hearing, hearing the ambrosial words of the saints the soul obtains supreme satisfaction. Pause.

ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
मुकति भुगति जुगति सचु पाईऐ सरब सुखा का दाता ॥
Mukaṯ bẖugaṯ jugaṯ sacẖ pā▫ī▫ai sarab sukẖā kā ḏāṯā.
Salvation, dainties, and the true way of the life are attained from Lord, the Giver of all bliss.

ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥੨॥
अपुने दास कउ भगति दानु देवै पूरन पुरखु बिधाता ॥२॥
Apune ḏās ka▫o bẖagaṯ ḏān ḏevai pūran purakẖ biḏẖāṯā. ||2||
The Omnipresent Creator Lord blesses His slave with the gift of His meditation.

ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਰਸਨਾ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸੋਈ ॥
स्रवणी सुणीऐ रसना गाईऐ हिरदै धिआईऐ सोई ॥
Sarvaṇī suṇī▫ai rasnā gā▫ī▫ai hirḏai ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai so▫ī.
Hear with Thy ears, and sing with thy tongue the Lord's praise and in thy mind, think thou of Him.

ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
करण कारण समरथ सुआमी जा ते ब्रिथा न कोई ॥३॥
Karaṇ kāraṇ samrath su▫āmī jā ṯe baritha na ko▫ī. ||3||
The Lord is Omnipotent to do all the deeds; without Him there is naught else.

ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਰਤਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥
वडै भागि रतन जनमु पाइआ करहु क्रिपा किरपाला ॥
vadai bẖāg raṯan janam pā▫i▫ā karahu kirpā kirpālā.
By good fortunate, I have obtained the jewel of human life Now, have mercy on me, O Merciful Master.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਸਦਾ ਗੋੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੪॥੧੦॥
साधसंगि नानकु गुण गावै सिमरै सदा गोपाला ॥४॥१०॥
Sāḏẖsang Nānak guṇ gāvai simrai saḏā gopālā. ||4||10||
In the saints society, Nanak sings Lord's praise and ever meditates on Him.

ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭਏ ਅਰੋਗਾ ॥
करि इसनानु सिमरि प्रभु अपना मन तन भए अरोगा ॥
Kar isnān simar parabẖ apnā man ṯan bẖa▫e arogā.
After taking bath, remember thou thy Lord, thus soul and body shall be disease free.

ਕੋਟਿ ਬਿਘਨ ਲਾਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗਾ ॥੧॥
कोटि बिघन लाथे प्रभ सरणा प्रगटे भले संजोगा ॥१॥
Kot bigẖan lāthe parabẖ sarṇā pargate bẖale sanjogā. ||1||
In the Lord's refuge millions of obstacles are removed and good fortune dawns.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥
प्रभ बाणी सबदु सुभाखिआ ॥
Parabẖ baṇī sabaḏ subẖākẖi▫ā.
The Lord's discourse and the words are the best utterances.

ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गावहु सुणहु पड़हु नित भाई गुर पूरै तू राखिआ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Gāvhu suṇhu paṛahu niṯ bẖā▫ī gur pūrai ṯū rākẖi▫ā. Rahā▫o.
Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause.

ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਮਿਤਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
साचा साहिबु अमिति वडाई भगति वछल दइआला ॥
Sācẖā sāhib amiṯ vadā▫ī bẖagaṯ vacẖẖal ḏa▫i▫ālā.
Immeasurable is the greatness of the True Lord He, the Merciful Master is the Lover of his saints.

ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਆਦਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
संता की पैज रखदा आइआ आदि बिरदु प्रतिपाला ॥२॥
Sanṯā kī paij rakẖ▫ḏā ā▫i▫ā āḏ biraḏ parṯipālā. ||2||
He has been preserving the honour of His saints and to cherish them is he innate nature, since the beginning of Time.

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਨਿਤ ਭੁੰਚਹੁ ਸਰਬ ਵੇਲਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
हरि अम्रित नामु भोजनु नित भुंचहु सरब वेला मुखि पावहु ॥
Har amriṯ nām bẖojan niṯ bẖuncẖahu sarab velā mukẖ pāvhu.
God's Nectar-Name ever eat thou as food and put it into thy mouth at al times.

ਜਰਾ ਮਰਾ ਤਾਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਾਠਾ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥੩॥
जरा मरा तापु सभु नाठा गुण गोबिंद नित गावहु ॥३॥
Jarā marā ṯāp sabẖ nāṯẖā guṇ gobinḏ niṯ gāvhu. ||3||
Every day hymn thou the praise of the Lord of the world, and the pains of old age and death shall all flee away.

ਸੁਣੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ॥
सुणी अरदासि सुआमी मेरै सरब कला बणि आई ॥
Suṇī arḏās su▫āmī merai sarab kalā baṇ ā▫ī.
My Master has heard my supplication, and all mine affairs have been adjusted.

ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਈ ਸਗਲੇ ਜੁਗ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੪॥੧੧॥
प्रगट भई सगले जुग अंतरि गुर नानक की वडिआई ॥४॥११॥
Pargat bẖa▫ī sagle jug anṯar gur Nānak kī vadi▫ā▫ī. ||4||11||
Thy glory of Guru Nanak, has become manifest all the ages through.

सोरठि महला ५ घरु २ चउपदे
Soraṯẖ mėhlā 5 gẖar 2 cẖa▫upḏe

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By True Guru's grace He is obtained.

ਏਕੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਏਕਸ ਕੇ ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਹਾਈ ॥
एकु पिता एकस के हम बारिक तू मेरा गुर हाई ॥
Ėk piṯā ekas ke ham bārik ṯū merā gur hā▫ī.
The One Lord is the Father of all and we are the children of the One Lord. Thou, O Lord, art our Guru.

ਸੁਣਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਜੀਉ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੧॥
सुणि मीता जीउ हमारा बलि बलि जासी हरि दरसनु देहु दिखाई ॥१॥
Suṇ mīṯā jī▫o hamārā bal bal jāsī har ḏarsan ḏeh ḏikẖā▫ī. ||1||
Hear, Thou O God, my Friend, my soul would be a sacrifice, a sacrifice unto Thee, If Thou revealeth me thy vision.
