ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੩॥
वडभागी गुरु पाइआ भाई हरि हरि नामु धिआइ ॥३॥
vadbẖāgī gur pā▫i▫ā bẖā▫ī har har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e. ||3||
Through the greatest good fortune, I have obtained the Guru, O brother and I, now, meditate on the Lord God's Name.

ਸਚੁ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਭਾਈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੋਇ ॥
सचु सदा है निरमला भाई निरमल साचे सोइ ॥
Sacẖ saḏā hai nirmalā bẖā▫ī nirmal sācẖe so▫e.
Ever pure is the Truth O brother! and pure are they who are True.

ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
नदरि करे जिसु आपणी भाई तिसु परापति होइ ॥
Naḏar kare jis āpṇī bẖā▫ī ṯis parāpaṯ ho▫e.
He, on whom is the Lord's grace, by him alone is the Lord attained, O brother.

ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਭਾਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੋਇ ॥
कोटि मधे जनु पाईऐ भाई विरला कोई कोइ ॥
Kot maḏẖe jan pā▫ī▫ai bẖā▫ī virlā ko▫ī ko▫e.
Amongst millions of men, rarely a serf of the Lord is found, O brother.

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਤਾ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੨॥
नानक रता सचि नामि भाई सुणि मनु तनु निरमलु होइ ॥४॥२॥
Nānak raṯā sacẖ nām bẖā▫ī suṇ man ṯan nirmal ho▫e. ||4||2||
O brother, Nanak is imbued with the True Name, hearing which the mind and body are rendered pure.

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਦੁਤੁਕੇ ॥
सोरठि महला ५ दुतुके ॥
Soraṯẖ mėhlā 5 ḏuṯuke.
Sorath 5th Guru. Dotukas.

ਜਉ ਲਉ ਭਾਉ ਅਭਾਉ ਇਹੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਤਉ ਲਉ ਮਿਲਣੁ ਦੂਰਾਈ ॥
जउ लउ भाउ अभाउ इहु मानै तउ लउ मिलणु दूराई ॥
Ja▫o la▫o bẖā▫o abẖā▫o ih mānai ṯa▫o la▫o milaṇ ḏūrā▫ī.
As long as this man believes in friendship and enmity, so long it is difficult for him to meet God.

ਆਨ ਆਪਨਾ ਕਰਤ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ਤਉ ਲਉ ਬੀਚੁ ਬਿਖਾਈ ॥੧॥
आन आपना करत बीचारा तउ लउ बीचु बिखाई ॥१॥
Ān āpnā karaṯ bīcẖārā ṯa▫o la▫o bīcẖ bikẖā▫ī. ||1||
So long as man discriminates between, him-self and another, till then there remains and difference between him and the Lord.

ਮਾਧਵੇ ਐਸੀ ਦੇਹੁ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
माधवे ऐसी देहु बुझाई ॥
Māḏẖve aisī ḏeh bujẖā▫ī.
O the Lord of wealth, grant me such an understanding,
|
ਸੇਵਉ ਸਾਧ ਗਹਉ ਓਟ ਚਰਨਾ ਨਹ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਮੁਹਤੁ ਚਸਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सेवउ साध गहउ ओट चरना नह बिसरै मुहतु चसाई ॥ रहाउ ॥
Seva▫o sāḏẖ gaha▫o ot cẖarnā nah bisrai muhaṯ cẖasā▫ī. Rahā▫o.
that I serve only the saints, seek their feet's protection and forget not the Lord, even for a moment and trice. Pause.

ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੁਗਧ ਅਚੇਤ ਚੰਚਲ ਚਿਤ ਤੁਮ ਐਸੀ ਰਿਦੈ ਨ ਆਈ ॥
रे मन मुगध अचेत चंचल चित तुम ऐसी रिदै न आई ॥
Re man mugaḏẖ acẖeṯ cẖancẖal cẖiṯ ṯum aisī riḏai na ā▫ī.
O my foolish, unthoughtful and fickle mind, such a thing did not occur to thee,
|
ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਆਨ ਤੂ ਰਚਿਆ ਉਰਝਿਓ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਰਾਈ ॥੨॥
प्रानपति तिआगि आन तू रचिआ उरझिओ संगि बैराई ॥२॥
Parānpaṯ ṯi▫āg ān ṯū racẖi▫ā urjẖi▫o sang bairā▫ī. ||2||
that, forsaking the Lord of life, thou art engrossed in the other and art attached with thine enemies.

ਸੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਥਾਪੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
सोगु न बिआपै आपु न थापै साधसंगति बुधि पाई ॥
Sog na bi▫āpai āp na thāpai sāḏẖsangaṯ buḏẖ pā▫ī.
If the mortal harbour not egoism then woe affects him not, From the society of saint, I have received this understanding.

ਸਾਕਤ ਕਾ ਬਕਨਾ ਇਉ ਜਾਨਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਪਵਨੁ ਝੁਲਾਈ ॥੩॥
साकत का बकना इउ जानउ जैसे पवनु झुलाई ॥३॥
Sākaṯ kā baknā i▫o jān▫o jaise pavan jẖulā▫ī. ||3||
Deem the prating of the mammon-worshipper as vain as the waft of wind.
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧ ਅਛਾਦਿਓ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
कोटि पराध अछादिओ इहु मनु कहणा कछू न जाई ॥
Kot parāḏẖ acẖẖāḏi▫o ih man kahṇā kacẖẖū na jā▫ī.
With millions of sins this mind is enveloped. What can, then man say?

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਨ ਸਰਨਿ ਆਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਭੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਰਖਹੁ ਉਠਾਈ ॥੪॥੩॥
जन नानक दीन सरनि आइओ प्रभ सभु लेखा रखहु उठाई ॥४॥३॥
Jan Nānak ḏīn saran ā▫i▫o parabẖ sabẖ lekẖā rakẖahu uṯẖā▫ī. ||4||3||
O Lord, Nanak, Thine meek slave, has entered Thy asylum; Pray write Thou off all his accounts.

ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਲੋਕ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਨਬੰਧੇਹੀ ॥
पुत्र कलत्र लोक ग्रिह बनिता माइआ सनबंधेही ॥
Puṯar kalṯar lok garih baniṯā mā▫i▫ā sanbanḏẖehī.
Sons, wife, people and women of thy household are the kinsmen of wealth.

ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਕੋ ਖਰਾ ਨ ਹੋਸੀ ਸਭ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਅਸਨੇਹੀ ॥੧॥
अंत की बार को खरा न होसी सभ मिथिआ असनेही ॥१॥
Anṯ kī bār ko kẖarā na hosī sabẖ mithi▫ā asnehī. ||1||
At the last moment, none of them shall stand by thee as their love if all false.
|
ਰੇ ਨਰ ਕਾਹੇ ਪਪੋਰਹੁ ਦੇਹੀ ॥
रे नर काहे पपोरहु देही ॥
Re nar kāhe paporahu ḏehī.
O man, why pamperest thou thy body?
|
ਊਡਿ ਜਾਇਗੋ ਧੂਮੁ ਬਾਦਰੋ ਇਕੁ ਭਾਜਹੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਨੇਹੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ऊडि जाइगो धूमु बादरो इकु भाजहु रामु सनेही ॥ रहाउ ॥
Ūd jā▫igo ḏẖūm bāḏro ik bẖājahu rām sanehī. Rahā▫o.
It shall fly away like a cloud of smoke. Contemplate thou over the One Beloved Lord. Pause.

ਤੀਨਿ ਸੰਙਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਜਲ ਕੂਕਰ ਭਸਮੇਹੀ ॥
तीनि संङिआ करि देही कीनी जल कूकर भसमेही ॥
Ŧīn sańi▫ā kar ḏehī kīnī jal kūkar bẖasmehī.
Fixing three as the number for its consumption, the body was created, it is thrown into water, to the dogs, or burnt to ashes.

ਹੋਇ ਆਮਰੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਬੈਠਾ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਿਸਰੋਹੀ ॥੨॥
होइ आमरो ग्रिह महि बैठा करण कारण बिसरोही ॥२॥
Ho▫e āmro garih mėh baiṯẖā karaṇ kāraṇ bisrohī. ||2||
Deeming himself immortals, the man, sits in him home, and forgets the cause of causes.
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਣੀਏ ਸਾਜੇ ਕਾਚੈ ਤਾਗਿ ਪਰੋਹੀ ॥
अनिक भाति करि मणीए साजे काचै तागि परोही ॥
Anik bẖāṯ kar maṇī▫e sāje kācẖai ṯāg parohī.
In various ways, the Lord has fashioned the beads and has strung them on a frail thread.

ਤੂਟਿ ਜਾਇਗੋ ਸੂਤੁ ਬਾਪੁਰੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਛੁਤੋਹੀ ॥੩॥
तूटि जाइगो सूतु बापुरे फिरि पाछै पछुतोही ॥३॥
Ŧūt jā▫igo sūṯ bāpure fir pācẖẖai pacẖẖuṯohī. ||3||
The thread shall break, O wretched man, and then thou shalt repent afterwards.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਤੁਮ ਸਿਰਜੇ ਸਿਰਜਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨੇਹੀ ॥
जिनि तुम सिरजे सिरजि सवारे तिसु धिआवहु दिनु रैनेही ॥
Jin ṯum sirje siraj savāre ṯis ḏẖi▫āvahu ḏin rainehī.
Day and night meditate thou on Him, who created thee and having created has bedecked thee.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਮੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਓਟ ਗਹੇਹੀ ॥੪॥੪॥
जन नानक प्रभ किरपा धारी मै सतिगुर ओट गहेही ॥४॥४॥
Jan Nānak parabẖ kirpā ḏẖārī mai saṯgur ot gahehī. ||4||4||
The Lord has extended His mercy to slave Nanak and he has held fast to the True Guru's protection.

ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਨਹਿ ਭਇਆ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
गुरु पूरा भेटिओ वडभागी मनहि भइआ परगासा ॥
Gur pūrā bẖeti▫o vadbẖāgī manėh bẖa▫i▫ā pargāsā.
My Perfect Guru, I have met through the greatest good fortune and my mind is illumined.

ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਹੁਚਨਹਾਰਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਾ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
कोइ न पहुचनहारा दूजा अपुने साहिब का भरवासा ॥१॥
Ko▫e na pahucẖanhārā ḏūjā apune sāhib kā bẖarvāsā. ||1||
None else can equal me, as I have the support of my Lord.
|
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
अपुने सतिगुर कै बलिहारै ॥
Apune saṯgur kai balihārai.
Unto my True Guru, I am a sacrifice.
|
ਆਗੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਛੈ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
आगै सुखु पाछै सुख सहजा घरि आनंदु हमारै ॥ रहाउ ॥
Āgai sukẖ pācẖẖai sukẖ sahjā gẖar ānanḏ hamārai. Rahā▫o.
Before me, now, there is peace, Hereafter I shall have celestial bliss and in my home there is eternal joy. Pause.

ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰਾ ਸੋਈ ਖਸਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
अंतरजामी करणैहारा सोई खसमु हमारा ॥
Anṯarjāmī karnaihārā so▫ī kẖasam hamārā.
He, the Creator and Inner-knower, is my Master.

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੇ ਇਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਆਧਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
निरभउ भए गुर चरणी लागे इक राम नाम आधारा ॥२॥
Nirbẖa▫o bẖa▫e gur cẖarṇī lāge ik rām nām āḏẖārā. ||2||
Having the prop of the unique Lord's Name and repairing to the Guru's feet, I have become fear-free.
|
ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਵਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
सफल दरसनु अकाल मूरति प्रभु है भी होवनहारा ॥
Safal ḏarsan akāl mūraṯ parabẖ hai bẖī hovanhārā.
Fruitful is the vision and immortal the form of my Master, who is and shall also be.

ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਾਇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥੩॥
कंठि लगाइ अपुने जन राखे अपुनी प्रीति पिआरा ॥३॥
Kanṯẖ lagā▫e apune jan rākẖe apunī parīṯ pi▫ārā. ||3||
Hugging to His bosom the Lord saves His slaves and their love for Him is sweet unto the Lord.

ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਅਚਰਜ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਇਆ ਰਾਸੇ ॥
वडी वडिआई अचरज सोभा कारजु आइआ रासे ॥
vadī vadi▫ā▫ī acẖraj sobẖā kāraj ā▫i▫ā rāse.
Great is the glory and wondrous the magnificence of the Lord and through Him the affairs are resolved.
