तिसु गुर कउ सद बलिहारणै जिनि हरि सेवा बणत बणाई ॥
Ŧis gur ka▫o saḏ balihārṇai jin har sevā baṇaṯ baṇā▫ī.
I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru, who has led me to serve the Lord.
सो सतिगुरु पिआरा मेरै नालि है जिथै किथै मैनो लए छडाई ॥
So saṯgur pi▫ārā merai nāl hai jithai kithai maino la▫e cẖẖadā▫ī.
That Beloved True Guru is always with me; wherever I may be, He will save me.
तिसु गुर कउ साबासि है जिनि हरि सोझी पाई ॥
Ŧis gur ka▫o sābās hai jin har sojẖī pā▫ī.
Most blessed is that Guru, who imparts understanding of the Lord.
नानकु गुर विटहु वारिआ जिनि हरि नामु दीआ मेरे मन की आस पुराई ॥५॥
Nānak gur vitahu vāri▫ā jin har nām ḏī▫ā mere man kī ās purā▫ī. ||5||
O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who has given me the Lord's Name, and fulfilled the desires of my mind. ||5||
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:
त्रिसना दाधी जलि मुई जलि जलि करे पुकार ॥
Ŧarisnā ḏāḏẖī jal mu▫ī jal jal kare pukār.
Consumed by desires, the world is burning and dying; burning and burning, it cries out.
सतिगुर सीतल जे मिलै फिरि जलै न दूजी वार ॥
Saṯgur sīṯal je milai fir jalai na ḏūjī vār.
But if it meets with the cooling and soothing True Guru, it does not burn any longer.
नानक विणु नावै निरभउ को नही जिचरु सबदि न करे वीचारु ॥१॥
Nānak viṇ nāvai nirbẖa▫o ko nahī jicẖar sabaḏ na kare vīcẖār. ||1||
O Nanak, without the Name, and without contemplating the Word of the Shabad, no one becomes fearless. ||1||
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:
भेखी अगनि न बुझई चिंता है मन माहि ॥
Bẖekẖī agan na bujẖ▫ī cẖinṯā hai man māhi.
Wearing ceremonial robes, the fire is not quenched, and the mind is filled with anxiety.
वरमी मारी सापु ना मरै तिउ निगुरे करम कमाहि ॥
varmī mārī sāp na marai ṯi▫o nigure karam kamāhi.
Destroying the snake's hole, the snake is not killed; it is just like doing deeds without a Guru.
सतिगुरु दाता सेवीऐ सबदु वसै मनि आइ ॥
Saṯgur ḏāṯā sevī▫ai sabaḏ vasai man ā▫e.
Serving the Giver, the True Guru, the Shabad comes to abide in the mind.
मनु तनु सीतलु सांति होइ त्रिसना अगनि बुझाइ ॥
Man ṯan sīṯal sāʼnṯ ho▫e ṯarisnā agan bujẖā▫e.
The mind and body are cooled and soothed; peace ensues, and the fire of desire is quenched.
सुखा सिरि सदा सुखु होइ जा विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥
Sukẖā sir saḏā sukẖ ho▫e jā vicẖahu āp gavā▫e.
The supreme comforts and lasting peace are obtained, when one eradicates ego from within.
गुरमुखि उदासी सो करे जि सचि रहै लिव लाइ ॥
Gurmukẖ uḏāsī so kare jė sacẖ rahai liv lā▫e.
He alone becomes a detached Gurmukh, who lovingly focuses his consciousness on the True Lord.
चिंता मूलि न होवई हरि नामि रजा आघाइ ॥
Cẖinṯā mūl na hova▫ī har nām rajā āgẖā▫e.
Anxiety does not affect him at all; he is satisfied and satiated with the Name of the Lord.
नानक नाम बिना नह छूटीऐ हउमै पचहि पचाइ ॥२॥
Nānak nām binā nah cẖẖūtī▫ai ha▫umai pacẖėh pacẖā▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, without the Naam, no one is saved; they are utterly ruined by egotism. ||2||
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:
जिनी हरि हरि नामु धिआइआ तिनी पाइअड़े सरब सुखा ॥
Jinī har har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā ṯinī pā▫i▫aṛe sarab sukẖā.
Those who meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, obtain all peace and comforts.
सभु जनमु तिना का सफलु है जिन हरि के नाम की मनि लागी भुखा ॥
Sabẖ janam ṯinā kā safal hai jin har ke nām kī man lāgī bẖukẖā.
Fruitful is the entire life of those, who hunger for the Name of the Lord in their minds.
जिनी गुर कै बचनि आराधिआ तिन विसरि गए सभि दुखा ॥
Jinī gur kai bacẖan ārāḏẖi▫ā ṯin visar ga▫e sabẖ ḏukẖā.
Those who worship the Lord in adoration, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, forget all their pains and suffering.
ते संत भले गुरसिख है जिन नाही चिंत पराई चुखा ॥
Ŧe sanṯ bẖale gursikẖ hai jin nāhī cẖinṯ parā▫ī cẖukẖā.
Those GurSikhs are good Saints, who care for nothing other than the Lord.
धनु धंनु तिना का गुरू है जिसु अम्रित फल हरि लागे मुखा ॥६॥
Ḏẖan ḏẖan ṯinā kā gurū hai jis amriṯ fal har lāge mukẖā. ||6||
Blessed, blessed is their Guru, whose mouth tastes the Ambrosial Fruit of the Lord's Name. ||6||

Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:
कलि महि जमु जंदारु है हुकमे कार कमाइ ॥
Kal mėh jam janḏār hai hukme kār kamā▫e.
In the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Messenger of Death is the enemy of life, but he acts according to the Lord's Command.
गुरि राखे से उबरे मनमुखा देइ सजाइ ॥
Gur rākẖe se ubre manmukẖā ḏe▫e sajā▫e.
Those who are protected by the Guru are saved, while the self-willed manmukhs receive their punishment.
जमकालै वसि जगु बांधिआ तिस दा फरू न कोइ ॥
Jamkālai vas jag bāʼnḏẖi▫ā ṯis ḏā farū na ko▫e.
The world is under the control, and in the bondage of the Messenger of Death; no one can hold him back.
जिनि जमु कीता सो सेवीऐ गुरमुखि दुखु न होइ ॥
Jin jam kīṯā so sevī▫ai gurmukẖ ḏukẖ na ho▫e.
So serve the One who created Death; as Gurmukh, no pain shall touch you.
नानक गुरमुखि जमु सेवा करे जिन मनि सचा होइ ॥१॥
Nānak gurmukẖ jam sevā kare jin man sacẖā ho▫e. ||1||
O Nanak, Death serves the Gurmukhs; the True Lord abides in their minds. ||1||
मः ३ ॥

Third Mehl:
एहा काइआ रोगि भरी बिनु सबदै दुखु हउमै रोगु न जाइ ॥
Ėhā kā▫i▫ā rog bẖarī bin sabḏai ḏukẖ ha▫umai rog na jā▫e.
This body is filled with disease; without the Word of the Shabad, the pain of the disease of ego does not depart.
सतिगुरु मिलै ता निरमल होवै हरि नामो मंनि वसाइ ॥
Saṯgur milai ṯā nirmal hovai har nāmo man vasā▫e.
When one meets the True Guru, then he becomes immaculately pure, and he enshrines the Lord's Name within his mind.
नानक नामु धिआइआ सुखदाता दुखु विसरिआ सहजि सुभाइ ॥२॥
Nānak nām ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā sukẖ▫ḏāṯa ḏukẖ visri▫ā sahj subẖā▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Peace-Giving Lord, his pains are automatically forgotten. ||2||
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:
जिनि जगजीवनु उपदेसिआ तिसु गुर कउ हउ सदा घुमाइआ ॥
Jin jagjīvan upḏesi▫ā ṯis gur ka▫o ha▫o saḏā gẖumā▫i▫ā.
I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru, who has taught me about the Lord, the Life of the World.
तिसु गुर कउ हउ खंनीऐ जिनि मधुसूदनु हरि नामु सुणाइआ ॥
Ŧis gur ka▫o ha▫o kẖannī▫ai jin maḏẖusūḏan har nām suṇā▫i▫ā.
I am every bit a sacrifice to the Guru, the Lover of Nectar, who has revealed the Name of the Lord.
तिसु गुर कउ हउ वारणै जिनि हउमै बिखु सभु रोगु गवाइआ ॥
Ŧis gur ka▫o ha▫o vārṇai jin ha▫umai bikẖ sabẖ rog gavā▫i▫ā.
I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who has totally cured me of the fatal disease of egotism.
तिसु सतिगुर कउ वड पुंनु है जिनि अवगण कटि गुणी समझाइआ ॥
Ŧis saṯgur ka▫o vad punn hai jin avgaṇ kat guṇī samjẖā▫i▫ā.
Glorious and great are the virtues of the Guru, who has eradicated evil, and instructed me in virtue.
