ਗਿਆਨ ਮੰਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਜਾਣੀਆ
गिआन मंगी हरि कथा चंगी हरि नामु गति मिति जाणीआ ॥
Gi▫ān mangī har kathā cẖangī har nām gaṯ miṯ jāṇī▫ā.
I ask for the Lord's spiritual wisdom, and the Lord's sublime sermon; through the Name of the Lord, I have come to know His value and His state.

ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਫਲਿਉ ਕੀਆ ਕਰਤੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਖਾਣੀਆ
सभु जनमु सफलिउ कीआ करतै हरि राम नामि वखाणीआ ॥
Sabẖ janam safli▫o kī▫ā karṯai har rām nām vakẖāṇī▫ā.
The Creator has made my life totally fruitful; I chant the Name of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮੰਗੀਆ
हरि राम नामु सलाहि हरि प्रभ हरि भगति हरि जन मंगीआ ॥
Har rām nām salāhi har parabẖ har bẖagaṯ har jan mangī▫ā.
The Lord's humble servant begs for the Lord's Name, for the Lord's Praises, and for devotional worship of the Lord God.

ਜਨੁ ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਚੰਗੀਆ ॥੧॥
जनु कहै नानकु सुणहु संतहु हरि भगति गोविंद चंगीआ ॥१॥
Jan kahai Nānak suṇhu sanṯahu har bẖagaṯ govinḏ cẖangī▫ā. ||1||
Says servant Nanak, listen, O Saints: devotional worship of the Lord, the Lord of the Universe, is sublime and good. ||1||

ਦੇਹ ਕੰਚਨ ਜੀਨੁ ਸੁਵਿਨਾ ਰਾਮ
देह कंचन जीनु सुविना राम ॥
Ḏeh kancẖan jīn suvinā rām.
The golden body is saddled with the saddle of gold.

ਜੜਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤੰਨਾ ਰਾਮ
जड़ि हरि हरि नामु रतंना राम ॥
Jaṛ har har nām raṯannā rām.
It is adorned with the jewel of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਜੜਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸੁਖ ਘਣੇ
जड़ि नाम रतनु गोविंद पाइआ हरि मिले हरि गुण सुख घणे ॥
Jaṛ nām raṯan govinḏ pā▫i▫ā har mile har guṇ sukẖ gẖaṇe.
Adorned with the jewel of the Naam, one obtains the Lord of the Universe; he meets the Lord, sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and obtains all sorts of comforts.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਹਰਿ ਬਣੇ
गुर सबदु पाइआ हरि नामु धिआइआ वडभागी हरि रंग हरि बणे ॥
Gur sabaḏ pā▫i▫ā har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā vadbẖāgī har rang har baṇe.
He obtains the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and he meditates on the Name of the Lord; by great good fortune, he assumes the color of the Lord's Love.

ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਵਤਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਵ ਰੰਗੀਆ
हरि मिले सुआमी अंतरजामी हरि नवतन हरि नव रंगीआ ॥
Har mile su▫āmī anṯarjāmī har navṯan har nav rangī▫ā.
He meets his Lord and Master, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; His body is ever-new, and His color is ever-fresh.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੰਗੀਆ ॥੨॥
नानकु वखाणै नामु जाणै हरि नामु हरि प्रभ मंगीआ ॥२॥
Nānak vakẖāṇai nām jāṇai har nām har parabẖ mangī▫ā. ||2||
Nanak chants and realizes the Naam; he begs for the Name of the Lord, the Lord God. ||2||

ਕੜੀਆਲੁ ਮੁਖੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਅੰਕਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ
कड़ीआलु मुखे गुरि अंकसु पाइआ राम ॥
Kaṛī▫āl mukẖe gur ankas pā▫i▫ā rām.
The Guru has placed the reins in the mouth of the body-horse.

ਮਨੁ ਮੈਗਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਸਿ ਆਇਆ ਰਾਮ
मनु मैगलु गुर सबदि वसि आइआ राम ॥
Man maigal gur sabaḏ vas ā▫i▫ā rām.
The mind-elephant is overpowered by the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਮਨੁ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਆਇਆ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਕੰਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ
मनु वसगति आइआ परम पदु पाइआ सा धन कंति पिआरी ॥
Man vasgaṯ ā▫i▫ā param paḏ pā▫i▫ā sā ḏẖan kanṯ pi▫ārī.
The bride obtains the supreme status, as her mind is brought under control; she is the beloved of her Husband Lord.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਲਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਰੀ
अंतरि प्रेमु लगा हरि सेती घरि सोहै हरि प्रभ नारी ॥
Anṯar parem lagā har seṯī gẖar sohai har parabẖ nārī.
Deep within her inner self, she is in love with her Lord; in His home, she is beautiful - she is the bride of her Lord God.

ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ
हरि रंगि राती सहजे माती हरि प्रभु हरि हरि पाइआ ॥
Har rang rāṯī sėhje māṯī har parabẖ har har pā▫i▫ā.
Imbued with the Lord's Love, she is intuitively absorbed in bliss; she obtains the Lord God, Har, Har.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਹਤੁ ਹੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੩॥
नानक जनु हरि दासु कहतु है वडभागी हरि हरि धिआइआ ॥३॥
Nānak jan har ḏās kahaṯ hai vadbẖāgī har har ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā. ||3||
Servant Nanak, the Lord's slave, says that only the very fortunate meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||

ਦੇਹ ਘੋੜੀ ਜੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ
देह घोड़ी जी जितु हरि पाइआ राम ॥
Ḏeh gẖoṛī jī jiṯ har pā▫i▫ā rām.
The body is the horse, upon which one rides to the Lord.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ
मिलि सतिगुर जी मंगलु गाइआ राम ॥
Mil saṯgur jī mangal gā▫i▫ā rām.
Meeting with the True Guru, one sings the songs of joy.

ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਵਕੀ
हरि गाइ मंगलु राम नामा हरि सेव सेवक सेवकी ॥
Har gā▫e mangal rām nāmā har sev sevak sevkī.
Sing the songs of joy to the Lord, serve the Name of the Lord, and become the servant of His servants.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਾਇ ਪਾਵੈ ਰੰਗ ਮਹਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੈ ਰੰਗ ਕੀ
प्रभ जाइ पावै रंग महली हरि रंगु माणै रंग की ॥
Parabẖ jā▫e pāvai rang mahlī har rang māṇai rang kī.
You shall go and enter the Mansion of the Beloved Lord's Presence, and lovingly enjoy His Love.

ਗੁਣ ਰਾਮ ਗਾਏ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ
गुण राम गाए मनि सुभाए हरि गुरमती मनि धिआइआ ॥
Guṇ rām gā▫e man subẖā▫e har gurmaṯī man ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā.
I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, so pleasing to my mind; following the Guru's Teachings, I meditate on the Lord within my mind.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਦੇਹ ਘੋੜੀ ਚੜਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੨॥੬॥
जन नानक हरि किरपा धारी देह घोड़ी चड़ि हरि पाइआ ॥४॥२॥६॥
Jan Nānak har kirpā ḏẖārī ḏeh gẖoṛī cẖaṛ har pā▫i▫ā. ||4||2||6||
The Lord has showered His Mercy upon servant Nanak; mounting the body-horse, he has found the Lord. ||4||2||6||

ਰਾਗੁ ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ਛੰਤ ਘਰੁ
रागु वडहंसु महला ५ छंत घरु ४
Rāg vad▫hans mėhlā 5 cẖẖanṯ gẖar 4
Raag Wadahans, Fifth Mehl, Chhant, Fourth House:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਧਾ ਜੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਰਾਮ
गुर मिलि लधा जी रामु पिआरा राम ॥
Gur mil laḏẖā jī rām pi▫ārā rām.
Meeting with the Guru, I have found my Beloved Lord God.

ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦਿਤੜਾ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ
इहु तनु मनु दितड़ा वारो वारा राम ॥
Ih ṯan man ḏiṯ▫ṛā vāro vārā rām.
I have made this body and mind a sacrifice, a sacrificial offering to my Lord.

ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦਿਤਾ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਜਿਤਾ ਚੂਕੀ ਕਾਂਣਿ ਜਮਾਣੀ
तनु मनु दिता भवजलु जिता चूकी कांणि जमाणी ॥
Ŧan man ḏiṯā bẖavjal jiṯā cẖūkī kāʼnṇ jamāṇī.
Dedicating my body and mind, I have crossed over the terrifying world-ocean, and shaken off the fear of death.

ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਥੀਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆ ਰਹਿਆ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੀ
असथिरु थीआ अम्रितु पीआ रहिआ आवण जाणी ॥
Asthir thī▫ā amriṯ pī▫ā rahi▫ā āvaṇ jāṇī.
Drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar, I have become immortal; my comings and goings have ceased.

ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਲਧਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਧਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰਾ
सो घरु लधा सहजि समधा हरि का नामु अधारा ॥
So gẖar laḏẖā sahj samḏẖā har kā nām aḏẖārā.
I have found that home, of celestial Samaadhi; the Name of the Lord is my only Support.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਮਾਣੇ ਰਲੀਆਂ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੰਉ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
कहु नानक सुखि माणे रलीआं गुर पूरे कंउ नमसकारा ॥१॥
Kaho Nānak sukẖ māṇe ralī▫āʼn gur pūre kaʼn▫u namaskārā. ||1||
Says Nanak, I enjoy peace and pleasure; I bow in reverence to the Perfect Guru. ||1||

ਸੁਣਿ ਸਜਣ ਜੀ ਮੈਡੜੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਰਾਮ
सुणि सजण जी मैडड़े मीता राम ॥
Suṇ sajaṇ jī maidṛe mīṯā rām.
Listen, O my friend and companion -

ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੁ ਦੀਤਾ ਰਾਮ
गुरि मंत्रु सबदु सचु दीता राम ॥
Gur manṯar sabaḏ sacẖ ḏīṯā rām.
the Guru has given the Mantra of the Shabad, the True Word of God.

ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਚੂਕੇ ਮਨਹੁ ਅਦੇਸਾ
सचु सबदु धिआइआ मंगलु गाइआ चूके मनहु अदेसा ॥
Sacẖ sabaḏ ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā mangal gā▫i▫ā cẖūke manhu aḏesā.
Meditating on this True Shabad, I sing the songs of joy, and my mind is rid of anxiety.

ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਤਹਿ ਜਾਇਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਸਾ
सो प्रभु पाइआ कतहि न जाइआ सदा सदा संगि बैसा ॥
So parabẖ pā▫i▫ā kaṯėh na jā▫i▫ā saḏā saḏā sang baisā.
I have found God, who never leaves; forever and ever, He sits with me.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਭਾਣਾ ਸਚਾ ਮਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਦੀਤਾ
प्रभ जी भाणा सचा माणा प्रभि हरि धनु सहजे दीता ॥
Parabẖ jī bẖāṇā sacẖā māṇā parabẖ har ḏẖan sėhje ḏīṯā.
One who is pleasing to God receives true honor. The Lord God blesses him with wealth.
