ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
जिसु सिमरत सुखु होइ सगले दूख जाहि ॥२॥
Jis simraṯ sukẖ ho▫e sagle ḏūkẖ jāhi. ||2||
Remembering Him in meditation, happiness comes, and all sorrows and pains simply vanish. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਅਕੁਲ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੀਐ
अकुल निरंजन पुरखु अगमु अपारीऐ ॥
Akul niranjan purakẖ agam apārī▫ai.
He is without relatives, immaculate, all-powerful, unapproachable and infinite.

ਸਚੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਹਾਰੀਐ
सचो सचा सचु सचु निहारीऐ ॥
Sacẖo sacẖā sacẖ sacẖ nihārī▫ai.
Truly, the True Lord is seen to be the Truest of the True.

ਕੂੜੁ ਜਾਪੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਧਾਰੀਐ
कूड़ु न जापै किछु तेरी धारीऐ ॥
Kūṛ na jāpai kicẖẖ ṯerī ḏẖārī▫ai.
Nothing established by You appears to be false.

ਸਭਸੈ ਦੇ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਜੇਤ ਉਪਾਰੀਐ
सभसै दे दातारु जेत उपारीऐ ॥
Sabẖsai ḏe ḏāṯār jeṯ upārī▫ai.
The Great Giver gives sustenance to all those He has created.

ਇਕਤੁ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਇ ਜੋਤਿ ਸੰਜਾਰੀਐ
इकतु सूति परोइ जोति संजारीऐ ॥
Ikaṯ sūṯ paro▫e joṯ sanjārī▫ai.
He has strung all on only one thread; He has infused His Light in them.

ਹੁਕਮੇ ਭਵਜਲ ਮੰਝਿ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਤਾਰੀਐ
हुकमे भवजल मंझि हुकमे तारीऐ ॥
Hukme bẖavjal manjẖ hukme ṯārī▫ai.
By His Will, some drown in the terrifying world-ocean, and by His Will, some are carried across.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਸੋਇ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਗੁ ਮਥਾਰੀਐ
प्रभ जीउ तुधु धिआए सोइ जिसु भागु मथारीऐ ॥
Parabẖ jī▫o ṯuḏẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫e so▫e jis bẖāg mathārī▫ai.
O Dear Lord, he alone meditates on You, upon whose forehead such blessed destiny is inscribed.

ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਲਖੀ ਜਾਇ ਹਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਐ ॥੧॥
तेरी गति मिति लखी न जाइ हउ तुधु बलिहारीऐ ॥१॥
Ŧerī gaṯ miṯ lakẖī na jā▫e ha▫o ṯuḏẖ balihārī▫ai. ||1||
Your condition and state cannot be known; I am a sacrifice to You. ||1||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ
सलोकु मः ५ ॥
Salok mėhlā 5.
Shalok, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਤੁਸਹਿ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਵਸਹਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ
जा तूं तुसहि मिहरवान अचिंतु वसहि मन माहि ॥
Jā ṯūʼn ṯusėh miharvān acẖinṯ vasėh man māhi.
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, you automatically come to dwell within my mind.

ਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਤੁਸਹਿ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਹਿ
जा तूं तुसहि मिहरवान नउ निधि घर महि पाहि ॥
Jā ṯūʼn ṯusėh miharvān na▫o niḏẖ gẖar mėh pāhi.
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, I find the nine treasures within the home of my own self.

ਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਤੁਸਹਿ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਕਮਾਹਿ
जा तूं तुसहि मिहरवान ता गुर का मंत्रु कमाहि ॥
Jā ṯūʼn ṯusėh miharvān ṯā gur kā manṯar kamāhi.
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, I act according to the Guru's Instructions.

ਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਤੁਸਹਿ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਤਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
जा तूं तुसहि मिहरवान ता नानक सचि समाहि ॥१॥
Jā ṯūʼn ṯusėh miharvān ṯā Nānak sacẖ samāhi. ||1||
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, then Nanak is absorbed in the True One. ||1||

मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਕਿਤੀ ਬੈਹਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਬੈਹਣੇ ਮੁਚੁ ਵਜਾਇਨਿ ਵਜ
किती बैहन्हि बैहणे मुचु वजाइनि वज ॥
Kiṯī baihniĥ baihṇe mucẖ vajā▫in vaj.
Many sit on thrones, to the sounds of musical instruments.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਣੁ ਕਿਸੈ ਰਹੀਆ ਲਜ ॥੨॥
नानक सचे नाम विणु किसै न रहीआ लज ॥२॥
Nānak sacẖe nām viṇ kisai na rahī▫ā laj. ||2||
O Nanak, without the True Name, no one's honor is safe. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ

Pauree:

ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬਾ ਸਣੁ ਖੜੇ
तुधु धिआइन्हि बेद कतेबा सणु खड़े ॥
Ŧuḏẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫īniĥ beḏ kaṯebā saṇ kẖaṛe.
The followers of the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran, standing at Your Door, meditate on You.

ਗਣਤੀ ਗਣੀ ਜਾਇ ਤੇਰੈ ਦਰਿ ਪੜੇ
गणती गणी न जाइ तेरै दरि पड़े ॥
Gaṇṯī gaṇī na jā▫e ṯerai ḏar paṛe.
Uncounted are those who fall at Your Door.

ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਸਣਾ
ब्रहमे तुधु धिआइन्हि इंद्र इंद्रासणा ॥
Barahme ṯuḏẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫īniĥ inḏar inḏrāsaṇā.
Brahma meditates on You, as does Indra on his throne.

ਸੰਕਰ ਬਿਸਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਭਣਾ
संकर बिसन अवतार हरि जसु मुखि भणा ॥
Sankar bisan avṯār har jas mukẖ bẖaṇā.
Shiva and Vishnu, and their incarnations, chant the Lord's Praise with their mouths,

ਪੀਰ ਪਿਕਾਬਰ ਸੇਖ ਮਸਾਇਕ ਅਉਲੀਏ
पीर पिकाबर सेख मसाइक अउलीए ॥
Pīr pikābar sekẖ masā▫ik a▫ulī▫e.
as do the Pirs, the spiritual teachers, the prophets and the Shaykhs, the silent sages and the seers.

ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਮਉਲੀਏ
ओति पोति निरंकार घटि घटि मउलीए ॥
Oṯ poṯ nirankār gẖat gẖat ma▫ulī▫e.
Through and through, the Formless Lord is woven into each and every heart.

ਕੂੜਹੁ ਕਰੇ ਵਿਣਾਸੁ ਧਰਮੇ ਤਗੀਐ
कूड़हु करे विणासु धरमे तगीऐ ॥
Kūṛahu kare viṇās ḏẖarme ṯagī▫ai.
One is destroyed through falsehood; through righteousness, one prospers.

ਜਿਤੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਗੀਐ ॥੨॥
जितु जितु लाइहि आपि तितु तितु लगीऐ ॥२॥
Jiṯ jiṯ lā▫ihi āp ṯiṯ ṯiṯ lagī▫ai. ||2||
Whatever the Lord links him to, to that he is linked. ||2||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ
सलोकु मः ५ ॥
Salok mėhlā 5.
Shalok, Fifth Mehl:

ਚੰਗਿਆਈ ਆਲਕੁ ਕਰੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਹੋਇ ਸੇਰੁ
चंगिआईं आलकु करे बुरिआईं होइ सेरु ॥
Cẖaʼngi▫ā▫īʼn ālak kare buri▫ā▫īʼn ho▫e ser.
He is reluctant to do good, but eager to practice evil.

ਨਾਨਕ ਅਜੁ ਕਲਿ ਆਵਸੀ ਗਾਫਲ ਫਾਹੀ ਪੇਰੁ ॥੧॥
नानक अजु कलि आवसी गाफल फाही पेरु ॥१॥
Nānak aj kal āvsī gāfal fāhī per. ||1||
O Nanak, today or tomorrow, the feet of the careless fool shall fall into the trap. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਕਿਤੀਆ ਕੁਢੰਗ ਗੁਝਾ ਥੀਐ ਹਿਤੁ
कितीआ कुढंग गुझा थीऐ न हितु ॥
Kiṯī▫ā kudẖang gujẖā thī▫ai na hiṯ.
No matter how evil my ways are, still, Your Love for me is not concealed.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤੈ ਸਹਿ ਢਕਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਚਾ ਮਿਤੁ ॥੨॥
नानक तै सहि ढकिआ मन महि सचा मितु ॥२॥
Nānak ṯai sėh dẖaki▫ā man mėh sacẖā miṯ. ||2||
Nanak: You, O Lord, conceal my short-comings and dwell within my mind; You are my true friend. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਹਉ ਮਾਗਉ ਤੁਝੈ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਗੋਲਿਆ
हउ मागउ तुझै दइआल करि दासा गोलिआ ॥
Ha▫o māga▫o ṯujẖai ḏa▫i▫āl kar ḏāsā goli▫ā.
I beg of You, O Merciful Lord: please, make me the slave of Your slaves.

ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਰਾਜੁ ਜੀਵਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ
नउ निधि पाई राजु जीवा बोलिआ ॥
Na▫o niḏẖ pā▫ī rāj jīvā boli▫ā.
I obtain the nine treasures and royalty; chanting Your Name, I live.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਦਾਸਾ ਘਰਿ ਘਣਾ
अम्रित नामु निधानु दासा घरि घणा ॥
Amriṯ nām niḏẖān ḏāsā gẖar gẖaṇā.
The great ambrosial treasure, the Nectar of the Naam, is in the home of the Lord's slaves.

ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਣਾ
तिन कै संगि निहालु स्रवणी जसु सुणा ॥
Ŧin kai sang nihāl sarvaṇī jas suṇā.
In their company, I am in ecstasy, listening to Your Praises with my ears.

ਕਮਾਵਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਹੋਇ
कमावा तिन की कार सरीरु पवितु होइ ॥
Kamāvā ṯin kī kār sarīr paviṯ ho▫e.
Serving them, my body is purified.

ਪਖਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਸਿ ਬਿਗਸਾ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਇ
पखा पाणी पीसि बिगसा पैर धोइ ॥
Pakẖā pāṇī pīs bigsā pair ḏẖo▫e.
I wave the fans over them, and carry water for them; I grind the corn for them, and washing their feet, I am overjoyed.

ਆਪਹੁ ਕਛੂ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੀਐ
आपहु कछू न होइ प्रभ नदरि निहालीऐ ॥
Āphu kacẖẖū na ho▫e parabẖ naḏar nihālī▫ai.
By myself, I can do nothing; O God, bless me with Your Glance of Grace.

ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਦਿਚੈ ਥਾਉ ਸੰਤ ਧਰਮ ਸਾਲੀਐ ॥੩॥
मोहि निरगुण दिचै थाउ संत धरम सालीऐ ॥३॥
Mohi nirguṇ ḏicẖai thā▫o sanṯ ḏẖaram sālī▫ai. ||3||
I am worthless - please, bless me with a seat in the place of worship of the Saints. ||3||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ५ ॥
Salok mėhlā 5.
Shalok, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਾਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਕੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਹਾ ਸਦ ਧੂਰਿ
साजन तेरे चरन की होइ रहा सद धूरि ॥
Sājan ṯere cẖaran kī ho▫e rahā saḏ ḏẖūr.
O Friend, I pray that I may remain forever the dust of Your Feet.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੀਆ ਪੇਖਉ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੧॥
नानक सरणि तुहारीआ पेखउ सदा हजूरि ॥१॥
Nānak saraṇ ṯuhārī▫ā pekẖa▫o saḏā hajūr. ||1||
Nanak has entered Your Sanctuary, and beholds You ever-present. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਅਸੰਖ ਹੋਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗ
पतित पुनीत असंख होहि हरि चरणी मनु लाग ॥
Paṯiṯ punīṯ asaʼnkẖ hohi har cẖarṇī man lāg.
Countless sinners become pure, by fixing their minds on the Feet of the Lord.

ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗ ॥੨॥
अठसठि तीरथ नामु प्रभ जिसु नानक मसतकि भाग ॥२॥
Aṯẖsaṯẖ ṯirath nām parabẖ jis Nānak masṯak bẖāg. ||2||
The Name of God is the sixty-eight holy places of pilgrimage, O Nanak, for one who has such destiny written upon his forehead. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥

Pauree:

ਨਿਤ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਨਾਉ ਪਰਵਦਿਗਾਰ ਦਾ
नित जपीऐ सासि गिरासि नाउ परवदिगार दा ॥
Niṯ japī▫ai sās girās nā▫o paravḏigār ḏā.
With every breath and morsel of food, chant the Name of the Lord, the Cherisher.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰੇ ਰਹੰਮ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਦਾ
जिस नो करे रहम तिसु न विसारदा ॥
Jis no kare rahamm ṯis na visārḏā.
The Lord does not forget one upon whom He has bestowed His Grace.

ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਵਣਹਾਰ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ
आपि उपावणहार आपे ही मारदा ॥
Āp upāvaṇhār āpe hī mārḏā.
He Himself is the Creator, and He Himself destroys.
