ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ
हरि सुखदाता मनि वसै हउमै जाइ गुमानु ॥
Har sukẖ▫ḏāṯa man vasai ha▫umai jā▫e gumān.
The Lord, the Giver of peace, shall dwell in your mind, and your egotism and pride shall depart.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਤਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥੨॥
नानक नदरी पाईऐ ता अनदिनु लागै धिआनु ॥२॥
Nānak naḏrī pā▫ī▫ai ṯā an▫ḏin lāgai ḏẖi▫ān. ||2||
O Nanak, when the Lord bestows His Glance of Grace, then, night and day, one centers his meditation on the Lord. ||2||

Pauree:

ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਵਿਤਾ
सतु संतोखु सभु सचु है गुरमुखि पविता ॥
Saṯ sanṯokẖ sabẖ sacẖ hai gurmukẖ paviṯā.
The Gurmukh is totally truthful, content and pure.

ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ਗਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਜਿਤਾ
अंदरहु कपटु विकारु गइआ मनु सहजे जिता ॥
Anḏrahu kapat vikār ga▫i▫ā man sėhje jiṯā.
Deception and wickedness have departed from within him, and he easily conquers his mind.

ਤਹ ਜੋਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਅਨੰਦ ਰਸੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਗਵਿਤਾ
तह जोति प्रगासु अनंद रसु अगिआनु गविता ॥
Ŧah joṯ pargās anand ras agi▫ān gaviṯā.
There, the Divine Light and the essence of bliss are manifest, and ignorance is eliminated.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਕਿਤਾ
अनदिनु हरि के गुण रवै गुण परगटु किता ॥
An▫ḏin har ke guṇ ravai guṇ pargat kiṯā.
Night and day, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and manifests the excellence of the Lord.

ਸਭਨਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਇਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਤਾ ॥੯॥
सभना दाता एकु है इको हरि मिता ॥९॥
Sabẖnā ḏāṯā ek hai iko har miṯā. ||9||
The One Lord is the Giver of all; the Lord alone is our friend. ||9||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ
सलोकु मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਿੰਦੇ ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ
ब्रहमु बिंदे सो ब्राहमणु कहीऐ जि अनदिनु हरि लिव लाए ॥
Barahm binḏe so barāhmaṇ kahī▫ai jė an▫ḏin har liv lā▫e.
One who understands God, who lovingly centers his mind on the Lord night and day, is called a Brahmin.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਛੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਏ
सतिगुर पुछै सचु संजमु कमावै हउमै रोगु तिसु जाए ॥
Saṯgur pucẖẖai sacẖ sanjam kamāvai ha▫umai rog ṯis jā▫e.
Consulting the True Guru, he practices Truth and self-restraint, and he is rid of the disease of ego.

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹੈ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ
हरि गुण गावै गुण संग्रहै जोती जोति मिलाए ॥
Har guṇ gāvai guṇ sangrahai joṯī joṯ milā▫e.
He sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and gathers in His Praises; his light is blended with the Light.

ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਟਿ ਸਮਾਏ
इसु जुग महि को विरला ब्रहम गिआनी जि हउमै मेटि समाए ॥
Is jug mėh ko virlā barahm gi▫ānī jė ha▫umai met samā▫e.
In this world, one who knows God is very rare; eradicating ego, he is absorbed in God.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੧॥
नानक तिस नो मिलिआ सदा सुखु पाईऐ जि अनदिनु हरि नामु धिआए ॥१॥
Nānak ṯis no mili▫ā saḏā sukẖ pā▫ī▫ai jė an▫ḏin har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e. ||1||
O Nanak, meeting him, peace is obtained; night and day, he meditates on the Lord's Name. ||1||

Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕਪਟੁ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਸਨਾ ਝੂਠੁ ਬੋਲਾਇ
अंतरि कपटु मनमुख अगिआनी रसना झूठु बोलाइ ॥
Anṯar kapat manmukẖ agi▫ānī rasnā jẖūṯẖ bolā▫e.
Within the ignorant self-willed manmukh is deception; with his tongue, he speaks lies.

ਕਪਟਿ ਕੀਤੈ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਭੀਜੈ ਨਿਤ ਵੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੈ ਸੁਭਾਇ
कपटि कीतै हरि पुरखु न भीजै नित वेखै सुणै सुभाइ ॥
Kapat kīṯai har purakẖ na bẖījai niṯ vekẖai suṇai subẖā▫e.
Practicing deception, he does not please the Lord God, who always sees and hears with natural ease.

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਜਾਇ ਜਗੁ ਪਰਬੋਧੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਸੁਆਇ
दूजै भाइ जाइ जगु परबोधै बिखु माइआ मोह सुआइ ॥
Ḏūjai bẖā▫e jā▫e jag parboḏẖai bikẖ mā▫i▫ā moh su▫ā▫e.
In the love of duality, he goes to instruct the world, but he is engrossed in the poison of Maya and attachment to pleasure.

ਇਤੁ ਕਮਾਣੈ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਜੰਮੈ ਮਰੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ
इतु कमाणै सदा दुखु पावै जमै मरै फिरि आवै जाइ ॥
Iṯ kamāṇai saḏā ḏukẖ pāvai jammai marai fir āvai jā▫e.
By doing so, he suffers in constant pain; he is born and then dies, and comes and goes again and again.

ਸਹਸਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਚੁਕਈ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਪਚੈ ਪਚਾਇ
सहसा मूलि न चुकई विचि विसटा पचै पचाइ ॥
Sahsā mūl na cẖuk▫ī vicẖ vistā pacẖai pacẖā▫e.
His doubts do not leave him at all, and he rots away in manure.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣਾਇ
जिस नो क्रिपा करे मेरा सुआमी तिसु गुर की सिख सुणाइ ॥
Jis no kirpā kare merā su▫āmī ṯis gur kī sikẖ suṇā▫e.
One, unto whom my Lord Master shows His Mercy, listens to the Guru's Teachings.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਗਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਅੰਤਿ ਛਡਾਇ ॥੨॥
हरि नामु धिआवै हरि नामो गावै हरि नामो अंति छडाइ ॥२॥
Har nām ḏẖi▫āvai har nāmo gāvai har nāmo anṯ cẖẖadā▫e. ||2||
He meditates on the Lord's Name, and sings the Lord's Name; in the end, the Lord's Name will deliver him. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਜਿਨਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਇਓਨੁ ਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ
जिना हुकमु मनाइओनु ते पूरे संसारि ॥
Jinā hukam manā▫i▫on ṯe pūre sansār.
Those who obey the Hukam of the Lord's Command, are the perfect persons in the world.

ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੇਵਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ
साहिबु सेवन्हि आपणा पूरै सबदि वीचारि ॥
Sāhib sevniĥ āpṇā pūrai sabaḏ vīcẖār.
They serve their Lord Master, and reflect upon the Perfect Word of the Shabad.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ
हरि की सेवा चाकरी सचै सबदि पिआरि ॥
Har kī sevā cẖākrī sacẖai sabaḏ pi▫ār.
They serve the Lord, and love the True Word of the Shabad.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਮਾਰਿ
हरि का महलु तिन्ही पाइआ जिन्ह हउमै विचहु मारि ॥
Har kā mahal ṯinĥī pā▫i▫ā jinĥ ha▫umai vicẖahu mār.
They attain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, as they eradicate egotism from within.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੇ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੧੦॥
नानक गुरमुखि मिलि रहे जपि हरि नामा उर धारि ॥१०॥
Nānak gurmukẖ mil rahe jap har nāmā ur ḏẖār. ||10||
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs remain united with Him, chanting the Name of the Lord, and enshrining it within their hearts. ||10||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ
सलोकु मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਿ ਉਪਜੈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ
गुरमुखि धिआन सहज धुनि उपजै सचि नामि चितु लाइआ ॥
Gurmukẖ ḏẖi▫ān sahj ḏẖun upjai sacẖ nām cẖiṯ lā▫i▫ā.
The Gurmukh meditates on the Lord; the celestial sound-current resounds within him, and he focuses his consciousness on the True Name.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਹੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ
गुरमुखि अनदिनु रहै रंगि राता हरि का नामु मनि भाइआ ॥
Gurmukẖ an▫ḏin rahai rang rāṯā har kā nām man bẖā▫i▫ā.
The Gurmukh remains imbued with the Lord's Love, night and day; his mind is pleased with the Name of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਵੇਖਹਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇਆ
गुरमुखि हरि वेखहि गुरमुखि हरि बोलहि गुरमुखि हरि सहजि रंगु लाइआ ॥
Gurmukẖ har vekẖėh gurmukẖ har bolėh gurmukẖ har sahj rang lā▫i▫ā.
The Gurmukh beholds the Lord, the Gurmukh speaks of the Lord, and the Gurmukh naturally loves the Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਮਰ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅਧੇਰੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ
नानक गुरमुखि गिआनु परापति होवै तिमर अगिआनु अधेरु चुकाइआ ॥
Nānak gurmukẖ gi▫ān parāpaṯ hovai ṯimar agi▫ān aḏẖer cẖukā▫i▫ā.
O Nanak, the Gurmukh attains spiritual wisdom, and the pitch-black darkness of ignorance is dispelled.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਧੁਰਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੧॥
जिस नो करमु होवै धुरि पूरा तिनि गुरमुखि हरि नामु धिआइआ ॥१॥
Jis no karam hovai ḏẖur pūrā ṯin gurmukẖ har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā. ||1||
One who is blessed by the Perfect Lord's Grace - as Gurmukh, he meditates on the Lord's Name. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨਾ ਸੇਵਿਓ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਗੋ ਪਿਆਰੁ
सतिगुरु जिना न सेविओ सबदि न लगो पिआरु ॥
Saṯgur jinā na sevi▫o sabaḏ na lago pi▫ār.
Those who do not serve the True Guru do not embrace love for the Word of the Shabad.

ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਕਿਤੁ ਆਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ
सहजे नामु न धिआइआ कितु आइआ संसारि ॥
Sėhje nām na ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā kiṯ ā▫i▫ā sansār.
They do not meditate on the Celestial Naam, the Name of the Lord - why did they even bother to come into the world?

ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੂਨੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਸਦਾ ਖੁਆਰੁ
फिरि फिरि जूनी पाईऐ विसटा सदा खुआरु ॥
Fir fir jūnī pā▫ī▫ai vistā saḏā kẖu▫ār.
Time and time again, they are reincarnated, and they rot away forever in manure.

ਕੂੜੈ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਲਗਿਆ ਨਾ ਉਰਵਾਰੁ ਪਾਰੁ
कूड़ै लालचि लगिआ ना उरवारु न पारु ॥
Kūrhai lālacẖ lagi▫ā nā urvār na pār.
They are attached to false greed; they are not on this shore, nor on the one beyond.
