ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਗਹਿਰ ਗਭੀਰੁ ਹੈ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਅਘਖੰਡੁ
सतिगुरु गहिर गभीरु है सुख सागरु अघखंडु ॥
Saṯgur gahir gabẖīr hai sukẖ sāgar agẖ▫kẖand.
The True Guru is the Deep and Profound Ocean of Peace, the Destroyer of sin.

ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਲਾਗੈ ਡੰਡੁ
जिनि गुरु सेविआ आपणा जमदूत न लागै डंडु ॥
Jin gur sevi▫ā āpṇā jamḏūṯ na lāgai dand.
For those who serve their Guru, there is no punishment at the hands of the Messenger of Death.

ਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਤੁਲਿ ਲਗਈ ਖੋਜਿ ਡਿਠਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡੁ
गुर नालि तुलि न लगई खोजि डिठा ब्रहमंडु ॥
Gur nāl ṯul na lag▫ī kẖoj diṯẖā barahmand.
There is none to compare with the Guru; I have searched and looked throughout the entire universe.

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਮੰਡੁ ॥੪॥੨੦॥੯੦॥
नामु निधानु सतिगुरि दीआ सुखु नानक मन महि मंडु ॥४॥२०॥९०॥
Nām niḏẖān saṯgur ḏī▫ā sukẖ Nānak man mėh mand. ||4||20||90||
The True Guru has bestowed the Treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. O Nanak, the mind is filled with peace. ||4||20||90||

ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ
सिरीरागु महला ५ ॥
Sirīrāg mėhlā 5.
Siree Raag, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਿਠਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਖਾਇਆ ਕਉੜਾ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਸਾਦੁ
मिठा करि कै खाइआ कउड़ा उपजिआ सादु ॥
Miṯẖā kar kai kẖā▫i▫ā ka▫uṛā upji▫ā sāḏ.
People eat what they believe to be sweet, but it turns out to be bitter in taste.

ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ਸੁਰਿਦ ਕੀਏ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਚਿਆ ਬਾਦੁ
भाई मीत सुरिद कीए बिखिआ रचिआ बादु ॥
Bẖā▫ī mīṯ suriḏ kī▫e bikẖi▫ā racẖi▫ā bāḏ.
They attach their affections to brothers and friends, uselessly engrossed in corruption.

ਜਾਂਦੇ ਬਿਲਮ ਹੋਵਈ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥੧॥
जांदे बिलम न होवई विणु नावै बिसमादु ॥१॥
Jāʼnḏe bilam na hova▫ī viṇ nāvai bismāḏ. ||1||
They vanish without a moment's delay; without God's Name, they are stunned and amazed. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੁ
मेरे मन सतगुर की सेवा लागु ॥
Mere man saṯgur kī sevā lāg.
O my mind, attach yourself to the service of the True Guru.

ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਵਿਣਸਣਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जो दीसै सो विणसणा मन की मति तिआगु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jo ḏīsai so viṇsaṇā man kī maṯ ṯi▫āg. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Whatever is seen, shall pass away. Abandon the intellectualizations of your mind. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਉ ਕੂਕਰੁ ਹਰਕਾਇਆ ਧਾਵੈ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਜਾਇ
जिउ कूकरु हरकाइआ धावै दह दिस जाइ ॥
Ji▫o kūkar harkā▫i▫ā ḏẖāvai ḏah ḏis jā▫e.
Like the mad dog running around in all directions,

ਲੋਭੀ ਜੰਤੁ ਜਾਣਈ ਭਖੁ ਅਭਖੁ ਸਭ ਖਾਇ
लोभी जंतु न जाणई भखु अभखु सभ खाइ ॥
Lobẖī janṯ na jāṇ▫ī bẖakẖ abẖakẖ sabẖ kẖā▫e.
the greedy person, unaware, consumes everything, edible and non-edible alike.

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਦਿ ਬਿਆਪਿਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
काम क्रोध मदि बिआपिआ फिरि फिरि जोनी पाइ ॥२॥
Kām kroḏẖ maḏ bi▫āpi▫ā fir fir jonī pā▫e. ||2||
Engrossed in the intoxication of sexual desire and anger, people wander through reincarnation over and over again. ||2||

ਮਾਇਆ ਜਾਲੁ ਪਸਾਰਿਆ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਚੋਗ ਬਣਾਇ
माइआ जालु पसारिआ भीतरि चोग बणाइ ॥
Mā▫i▫ā jāl pasāri▫ā bẖīṯar cẖog baṇā▫e.
Maya has spread out her net, and in it, she has placed the bait.

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਪੰਖੀ ਫਾਸਿਆ ਨਿਕਸੁ ਪਾਏ ਮਾਇ
त्रिसना पंखी फासिआ निकसु न पाए माइ ॥
Ŧarisnā pankẖī fāsi▫ā nikas na pā▫e mā▫e.
The bird of desire is caught, and cannot find any escape, O my mother.

ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਜਾਣਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
जिनि कीता तिसहि न जाणई फिरि फिरि आवै जाइ ॥३॥
Jin kīṯā ṯisėh na jāṇ▫ī fir fir āvai jā▫e. ||3||
One who does not know the Lord who created him, comes and goes in reincarnation over and over again. ||3||

ਅਨਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੀ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ
अनिक प्रकारी मोहिआ बहु बिधि इहु संसारु ॥
Anik parkārī mohi▫ā baho biḏẖ ih sansār.
By various devices, and in so many ways, this world is enticed.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਰਖੈ ਸੋ ਰਹੈ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ
जिस नो रखै सो रहै सम्रिथु पुरखु अपारु ॥
Jis no rakẖai so rahai samrith purakẖ apār.
They alone are saved, whom the All-powerful, Infinite Lord protects.

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਉਧਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੨੧॥੯੧॥
हरि जन हरि लिव उधरे नानक सद बलिहारु ॥४॥२१॥९१॥
Har jan har liv uḏẖre Nānak saḏ balihār. ||4||21||91||
The servants of the Lord are saved by the Love of the Lord. O Nanak, I am forever a sacrifice to them. ||4||21||91||

ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ਘਰੁ
सिरीरागु महला ५ घरु २ ॥
Sirīrāg mėhlā 5 gẖar 2.
Siree Raag, Fifth Mehl, Second House:

ਗੋਇਲਿ ਆਇਆ ਗੋਇਲੀ ਕਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਡੰਫੁ ਪਸਾਰੁ
गोइलि आइआ गोइली किआ तिसु ड्मफु पसारु ॥
Go▫il ā▫i▫ā go▫ilī ki▫ā ṯis damf pasār.
The herdsman comes to the pasture lands-what good are his ostentatious displays here?

ਮੁਹਲਤਿ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਚਲਣਾ ਤੂੰ ਸੰਮਲੁ ਘਰ ਬਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
मुहलति पुंनी चलणा तूं समलु घर बारु ॥१॥
Muhlaṯ punnī cẖalṇā ṯūʼn sammal gẖar bār. ||1||
When your allotted time is up, you must go. Take care of your real hearth and home. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ਮਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ
हरि गुण गाउ मना सतिगुरु सेवि पिआरि ॥
Har guṇ gā▫o manā saṯgur sev pi▫ār.
O mind, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and serve the True Guru with love.

ਕਿਆ ਥੋੜੜੀ ਬਾਤ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
किआ थोड़ड़ी बात गुमानु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ki▫ā thoṛ▫ṛī bāṯ gumān. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Why do you take pride in trivial matters? ||1||Pause||

ਜੈਸੇ ਰੈਣਿ ਪਰਾਹੁਣੇ ਉਠਿ ਚਲਸਹਿ ਪਰਭਾਤਿ
जैसे रैणि पराहुणे उठि चलसहि परभाति ॥
Jaise raiṇ parāhuṇe uṯẖ cẖalsahi parbẖāṯ.
Like an overnight guest, you shall arise and depart in the morning.

ਕਿਆ ਤੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਗਿਰਸਤ ਸਿਉ ਸਭ ਫੁਲਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਗਾਤਿ ॥੨॥
किआ तूं रता गिरसत सिउ सभ फुला की बागाति ॥२॥
Ki▫ā ṯūʼn raṯā girsaṯ si▫o sabẖ fulā kī bāgāṯ. ||2||
Why are you so attached to your household? It is all like flowers in the garden. ||2||

ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲੋੜਿ
मेरी मेरी किआ करहि जिनि दीआ सो प्रभु लोड़ि ॥
Merī merī ki▫ā karahi jin ḏī▫ā so parabẖ loṛ.
Why do you say, "Mine, mine?" Look to God, who has given it to you.

ਸਰਪਰ ਉਠੀ ਚਲਣਾ ਛਡਿ ਜਾਸੀ ਲਖ ਕਰੋੜਿ ॥੩॥
सरपर उठी चलणा छडि जासी लख करोड़ि ॥३॥
Sarpar uṯẖī cẖalṇā cẖẖad jāsī lakẖ karoṛ. ||3||
It is certain that you must arise and depart, and leave behind your hundreds of thousands and millions. ||3||

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਭ੍ਰਮਤਿਆ ਦੁਲਭ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਾਇਓਇ
लख चउरासीह भ्रमतिआ दुलभ जनमु पाइओइ ॥
Lakẖ cẖa▫orāsīh bẖarmaṯi▫ā ḏulabẖ janam pā▫i▫o▫e.
Through 8.4 million incarnations you have wandered, to obtain this rare and precious human life.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਸੋ ਦਿਨੁ ਨੇੜਾ ਆਇਓਇ ॥੪॥੨੨॥੯੨॥
नानक नामु समालि तूं सो दिनु नेड़ा आइओइ ॥४॥२२॥९२॥
Nānak nām samāl ṯūʼn so ḏin neṛā ā▫i▫o▫e. ||4||22||92||
O Nanak, remember the Naam, the Name of the Lord; the day of departure is drawing near! ||4||22||92||

ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ

ਤਿਚਰੁ ਵਸਹਿ ਸੁਹੇਲੜੀ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਸਾਥੀ ਨਾਲਿ
तिचरु वसहि सुहेलड़ी जिचरु साथी नालि ॥
Ŧicẖar vasėh suhelṛī jicẖar sāthī nāl.
As long as the soul-companion is with the body, it dwells in happiness.

ਜਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਉਠੀ ਚਲਿਆ ਤਾ ਧਨ ਖਾਕੂ ਰਾਲਿ ॥੧॥
जा साथी उठी चलिआ ता धन खाकू रालि ॥१॥
Jā sāthī uṯẖī cẖali▫ā ṯā ḏẖan kẖākū rāl. ||1||
But when the companion arises and departs, then the body-bride mingles with dust. ||1||

ਮਨਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਭਇਆ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਣੈ ਕਾ ਚਾਉ
मनि बैरागु भइआ दरसनु देखणै का चाउ ॥
Man bairāg bẖa▫i▫ā ḏarsan ḏekẖ▫ṇai kā cẖā▫o.
My mind has become detached from the world; it longs to see the Vision of God's Darshan.

ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਥਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
धंनु सु तेरा थानु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḏẖan so ṯerā thān. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Blessed is Your Place. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਚਰੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਕੰਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਜੀਉ ਸਭਿ ਕਹਾਤਿ
जिचरु वसिआ कंतु घरि जीउ जीउ सभि कहाति ॥
Jicẖar vasi▫ā kanṯ gẖar jī▫o jī▫o sabẖ kahāṯ.
As long as the soul-husband dwells in the body-house, everyone greets you with respect.

ਜਾ ਉਠੀ ਚਲਸੀ ਕੰਤੜਾ ਤਾ ਕੋਇ ਪੁਛੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਤ ॥੨॥
जा उठी चलसी कंतड़ा ता कोइ न पुछै तेरी बात ॥२॥
Jā uṯẖī cẖalsī kanṯ▫ṛā ṯā ko▫e na pucẖẖai ṯerī bāṯ. ||2||
But when the soul-husband arises and departs, then no one cares for you at all. ||2||

ਪੇਈਅੜੈ ਸਹੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਹੁਰੜੈ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਸੁ
पेईअड़ै सहु सेवि तूं साहुरड़ै सुखि वसु ॥
Pe▫ī▫aṛai saho sev ṯūʼn sāhurṛai sukẖ vas.
In this world of your parents' home, serve your Husband Lord; in the world beyond, in your in-laws' home, you shall dwell in peace.

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਚਜੁ ਅਚਾਰੁ ਸਿਖੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਕਦੇ ਲਗੈ ਦੁਖੁ ॥੩॥
गुर मिलि चजु अचारु सिखु तुधु कदे न लगै दुखु ॥३॥
Gur mil cẖaj acẖār sikẖ ṯuḏẖ kaḏe na lagai ḏukẖ. ||3||
Meeting with the Guru, be a sincere student of proper conduct, and suffering shall never touch you. ||3||

ਸਭਨਾ ਸਾਹੁਰੈ ਵੰਞਣਾ ਸਭਿ ਮੁਕਲਾਵਣਹਾਰ
सभना साहुरै वंञणा सभि मुकलावणहार ॥
Sabẖnā sāhurai vañ▫ṇā sabẖ muklāvaṇhār.
Everyone shall go to their Husband Lord. Everyone shall be given their ceremonial send-off after their marriage.
