ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੇ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੫॥੬॥
कलि कलेस मिटे खिन भीतरि नानक सहजि समाइआ ॥४॥५॥६॥
Kal kales mite kẖin bẖīṯar Nānak sahj samā▫i▫ā. ||4||5||6||
In an instant his troubles and strifes are ended and he becomes absorbed in the Lord, O Nanak.

Gujri 5th Guru.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੋ ਅਪਨੈ ਦੁਖਿ ਭਰਿਆ ॥
जिसु मानुख पहि करउ बेनती सो अपनै दुखि भरिआ ॥
Jis mānukẖ pėh kara▫o benṯī so apnai ḏukẖ bẖari▫ā.
To whomsoever a person I make a request, I find him full of his own troubles.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਭਉ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
पारब्रहमु जिनि रिदै अराधिआ तिनि भउ सागरु तरिआ ॥१॥
Pārbarahm jin riḏai arāḏẖi▫ā ṯin bẖa▫o sāgar ṯari▫ā. ||1||
He, whosoever heartily contemplates on the Supreme Lord, He alone crosses the terrible world ocean.

ਗੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋ ਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੈ ॥
गुर हरि बिनु को न ब्रिथा दुखु काटै ॥
Gur har bin ko na baritha ḏukẖ kātai.
None but the Divine Guru, can remove the distress and anguish.

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਜਿ ਅਵਰ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜੇ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਤਿਤੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਮਹਤੁ ਜਸੁ ਘਾਟੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
प्रभु तजि अवर सेवकु जे होई है तितु मानु महतु जसु घाटै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Parabẖ ṯaj avar sevak je ho▫ī hai ṯiṯ mān mahaṯ jas gẖātai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Forsaking the Lord, if one becomes a servant of another, one's honour, dignity and reputation get decreased, therewith. Pause.
|
ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਸਨਬੰਧ ਸੈਨ ਸਾਕ ਕਿਤ ਹੀ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥
माइआ के सनबंध सैन साक कित ही कामि न आइआ ॥
Mā▫i▫ā ke san▫banḏẖ sain sāk kiṯ hī kām na ā▫i▫ā.
The worldly relations, relatives kinsmen are of no avail.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਨੀਚ ਕੁਲੁ ਊਚਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
हरि का दासु नीच कुलु ऊचा तिसु संगि मन बांछत फल पाइआ ॥२॥
Har kā ḏās nīcẖ kul ūcẖā ṯis sang man bāʼncẖẖaṯ fal pā▫i▫ā. ||2||
God's slave, though of lowly birth, is exalted. In his company, man obtains his heart desired fruits.

ਲਾਖ ਕੋਟਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕੇ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਨ ਬੂਝੀ ॥
लाख कोटि बिखिआ के बिंजन ता महि त्रिसन न बूझी ॥
Lākẖ kot bikẖi▫ā ke binjan ṯā mėh ṯarisan na būjẖī.
Man may obtains lacs and millions of viands, through foul means, in them his desire is not quenched.

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਕੋਟਿ ਉਜੀਆਰਾ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਸੂਝੀ ॥੩॥
सिमरत नामु कोटि उजीआरा बसतु अगोचर सूझी ॥३॥
Simraṯ nām kot ujī▫ārā basaṯ agocẖar sūjẖī. ||3||
Remember the Name, there appear millions of lights and then unseen Thing is manifested.

ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੈ ਦੁਆਰਿ ਆਇਆ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
फिरत फिरत तुम्हरै दुआरि आइआ भै भंजन हरि राइआ ॥
Firaṯ firaṯ ṯumĥrai ḏu▫ār ā▫i▫ā bẖai bẖanjan har rā▫i▫ā.
Roaming and rambling I have come to Thine door, O Sovereign God, the Destroyer of fear.

ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਧੂਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਬਾਛੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੬॥੭॥
साध के चरन धूरि जनु बाछै सुखु नानक इहु पाइआ ॥४॥६॥७॥
Sāḏẖ ke cẖaran ḏẖūr jan bācẖẖai sukẖ Nānak ih pā▫i▫ā. ||4||6||7||
Serf Nanak desire the dust of saints feet, In it he finds his happiness.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but one God. By the True Guru's grace he is obtained.

ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਗਰਭ ਮਾਤਾ ਕੈ ਵਾਸਾ ਊਹਾ ਛੋਡਿ ਧਰਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
प्रथमे गरभ माता कै वासा ऊहा छोडि धरनि महि आइआ ॥
Parathme garabẖ māṯā kai vāsā ūhā cẖẖod ḏẖaran mėh ā▫i▫ā.
My troubles have ended peace is enshrined in me and my fire of desire is quenched.

ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਲ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਾਗ ਮੰਦਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਕਛਹੂ ਜਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
चित्र साल सुंदर बाग मंदर संगि न कछहू जाइआ ॥१॥
Cẖiṯar sāl sunḏar bāg manḏar sang na kacẖẖhū jā▫i▫ā. ||1||
The Name treasure the True Guru has established in me which neither dies nor goes anywhere.

ਅਵਰ ਸਭ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਲੋਭ ਲਬੀ ॥
अवर सभ मिथिआ लोभ लबी ॥
Avar sabẖ mithi▫ā lobẖ labī.
All other greeds of the greedy soul are false.
|
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਦੀਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਜੀਅ ਕਉ ਏਹਾ ਵਸਤੁ ਫਬੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुरि पूरै दीओ हरि नामा जीअ कउ एहा वसतु फबी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur pūrai ḏī▫o har nāmā jī▫a ka▫o ehā vasaṯ fabī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Perfect Guru has given me the God's Name a thing which behaves my soul. Pause.

ਇਸਟ ਮੀਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਸੁਤ ਭਾਈ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਰਚਿ ਹਸਿਆ ॥
इसट मीत बंधप सुत भाई संगि बनिता रचि हसिआ ॥
Isat mīṯ banḏẖap suṯ bẖā▫ī sang baniṯā racẖ hasi▫ā.
Surrounded by dear friends relations sons, brothers and wife the mortal playfully laughs.

ਜਬ ਅੰਤੀ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਆਇ ਬਨਿਓ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਕਾਲਿ ਗ੍ਰਸਿਆ ॥੨॥
जब अंती अउसरु आइ बनिओ है उन्ह पेखत ही कालि ग्रसिआ ॥२॥
Jab anṯī a▫osar ā▫e bani▫o hai unĥ pekẖaṯ hī kāl garsi▫ā. ||2||
But when the last moment arrives death seizes him, while they look on.

ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਅਨਰਥ ਬਿਹਾਝੀ ਸੰਪੈ ਸੁਇਨਾ ਰੂਪਾ ਦਾਮਾ ॥
करि करि अनरथ बिहाझी स्मपै सुइना रूपा दामा ॥
Kar kar anrath bihājẖī sampai su▫inā rūpā ḏāmā.
By continuously exercising oppression, man amasses wealth, gold silver and rupees.

ਭਾੜੀ ਕਉ ਓਹੁ ਭਾੜਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੋਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਭਇਓ ਬਿਰਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
भाड़ी कउ ओहु भाड़ा मिलिआ होरु सगल भइओ बिराना ॥३॥
Bẖāṛī ka▫o oh bẖāṛā mili▫ā hor sagal bẖa▫i▫o birānā. ||3||
But the hireling only gets the hire thereof and all else passes on to others.

ਹੈਵਰ ਗੈਵਰ ਰਥ ਸੰਬਾਹੇ ਗਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
हैवर गैवर रथ स्मबाहे गहु करि कीने मेरे ॥
Haivar gaivar rath sambāhe gahu kar kīne mere.
Snatching perforce man collects horses elephants and chariots and makes them his own.
|
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਹੋਈ ਲਾਂਮੀ ਧਾਈ ਚਲਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਇਕ ਪੈਰੇ ॥੪॥
जब ते होई लांमी धाई चलहि नाही इक पैरे ॥४॥
Jab ṯe ho▫ī lāʼnmī ḏẖā▫ī cẖalėh nāhī ik paire. ||4||
But when he sets out on the ling journey they travel not even a step with him.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਖ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
नामु धनु नामु सुख राजा नामु कुट्मब सहाई ॥
Nām ḏẖan nām sukẖ rājā nām kutamb sahā▫ī.
The Name is my wealth, the Name my royal peace and the Name my family and helper.

ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਦੀਈ ਓਹ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਈ ॥੫॥੧॥੮॥
नामु स्मपति गुरि नानक कउ दीई ओह मरै न आवै जाई ॥५॥१॥८॥
Nām sampaṯ gur Nānak ka▫o ḏī▫ī oh marai na āvai jā▫ī. ||5||1||8||
The great Lord has given Nanak the wealth of the Name and that neither perishes nor comes and goes.

There is but One God. By True Guru's grace, He is obtained.

ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਕੀਆ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
दुख बिनसे सुख कीआ निवासा त्रिसना जलनि बुझाई ॥
Ḏukẖ binse sukẖ kī▫ā nivāsā ṯarisnā jalan bujẖā▫ī.
My troubles have ended, peace is enshrined in me and my fire of desire is quenched.

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
नामु निधानु सतिगुरू द्रिड़ाइआ बिनसि न आवै जाई ॥१॥
Nām niḏẖān saṯgurū driṛ▫ā▫i▫ā binas na āvai jā▫ī. ||1||
The Name treasure the True Guru has established in me, which neither dies nor goes anywhere.

ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੂਟੇ ॥
हरि जपि माइआ बंधन तूटे ॥
Har jap mā▫i▫ā banḏẖan ṯūte.
Remembering the Lord, the bonds of mammon are loosed.

ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਛੂਟੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
भए क्रिपाल दइआल प्रभ मेरे साधसंगति मिलि छूटे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bẖa▫e kirpāl ḏa▫i▫āl parabẖ mere sāḏẖsangaṯ mil cẖẖūte. ||1|| rahā▫o.
When my Lord becomes kind and compassionate, the man is emancipated, by meeting the society of saints. Pause.
