ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਿਖੁ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
एको नामु निधानु पंडित सुणि सिखु सचु सोई ॥
Ėko nām niḏẖān pandiṯ suṇ sikẖ sacẖ so▫ī.
The name alone is the treasure, O scholar Listen thou to such true instruction.

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਜੇਤਾ ਪੜਹਿ ਪੜਤ ਗੁਣਤ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥
दूजै भाइ जेता पड़हि पड़त गुणत सदा दुखु होई ॥१॥
Ḏūjai bẖā▫e jeṯā paṛėh paṛaṯ guṇaṯ saḏā ḏukẖ ho▫ī. ||1||
Whatever thou readest through duality by such reading and reflecting thou ever comest to grief.

ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਤੂੰ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਈ ॥
हरि चरणी तूं लागि रहु गुर सबदि सोझी होई ॥
Har cẖarṇī ṯūʼn lāg rahu gur sabaḏ sojẖī ho▫ī.
Cling thou to God's feet. Through Guru's hymns thou shalt obtain sound understanding.

ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਚਾਖੁ ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि रसु रसना चाखु तूं तां मनु निरमलु होई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har ras rasnā cẖākẖ ṯūʼn ṯāʼn man nirmal ho▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
With thy tongue taste thou the God's elixir, then shalt thy soul be rendered pure. Pause.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਐ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
सतिगुर मिलिऐ मनु संतोखीऐ ता फिरि त्रिसना भूख न होइ ॥
Saṯgur mili▫ai man sanṯokẖī▫ai ṯā fir ṯarisnā bẖūkẖ na ho▫e.
By meeting the True Guru the mind is satiated and then desire and hunger harass not the man any more.

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
नामु निधानु पाइआ पर घरि जाइ न कोइ ॥२॥
Nām niḏẖān pā▫i▫ā par gẖar jā▫e na ko▫e. ||2||
Having received the Name treasure none knocks at another's door.

ਕਥਨੀ ਬਦਨੀ ਜੇ ਕਰੇ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
कथनी बदनी जे करे मनमुखि बूझ न होइ ॥
Kathnī baḏnī je kare manmukẖ būjẖ na ho▫e.
Even though the perverse person talks and prattles, still he obtains not understanding.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
गुरमती घटि चानणा हरि नामु पावै सोइ ॥३॥
Gurmaṯī gẖat cẖānṇā har nām pāvai so▫e. ||3||
By Guru's instruction whose mind is illumined he alone receives the Lord's Name.

ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਤੂੰ ਨ ਬੁਝਹੀ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਾਰੋ ਬਾਰ ॥
सुणि सासत्र तूं न बुझही ता फिरहि बारो बार ॥
Suṇ sāsṯar ṯūʼn na bujẖhī ṯā firėh bāro bār.
Thou hearest Shashtras but realisest not, God, wherefore thou wanderest from door to door.

ਸੋ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਜੋ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਈ ਸਚਿ ਨ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੪॥
सो मूरखु जो आपु न पछाणई सचि न धरे पिआरु ॥४॥
So mūrakẖ jo āp na pacẖẖāṇ▫ī sacẖ na ḏẖare pi▫ār. ||4||
He who understands not his ownself and cherishes not love for the True Lord is a fool.
|
ਸਚੈ ਜਗਤੁ ਡਹਕਾਇਆ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
सचै जगतु डहकाइआ कहणा कछू न जाइ ॥
Sacẖai jagaṯ dahkā▫i▫ā kahṇā kacẖẖū na jā▫e.
The True Lord has hook-winked the world and the man has no say therein.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੫॥੭॥੯॥
नानक जो तिसु भावै सो करे जिउ तिस की रजाइ ॥५॥७॥९॥
Nānak jo ṯis bẖāvai so kare ji▫o ṯis kī rajā▫e. ||5||7||9||
Nanak, whatever pleases Him, that the Lord does according to His sweet will.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By True Guru's grace He is obtained.
|
ਰਾਗੁ ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਚਉਪਦੇ ਘਰੁ ੧ ॥

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖਾ ਹਉ ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰਉ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
हरि के जन सतिगुर सत पुरखा हउ बिनउ करउ गुर पासि ॥
Har ke jan saṯgur saṯ purkẖā ha▫o bin▫o kara▫o gur pās.
O my great Sat-Guru, the save of the Lord and the True Person, I make a supplication before Thee.

ਹਮ ਕੀਰੇ ਕਿਰਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
हम कीरे किरम सतिगुर सरणाई करि दइआ नामु परगासि ॥१॥
Ham kīre kiram saṯgur sarṇā▫ī kar ḏa▫i▫ā nām pargās. ||1||
I am an insect and a worm have sought thy shelter. Mercifully bestow on me the light of God's Name, O True Guru.

ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥
मेरे मीत गुरदेव मो कउ राम नामु परगासि ॥
Mere mīṯ gurḏev mo ka▫o rām nām pargās.
O my friend, the Great Guru, illumine me with the name of the Omnipresent Lord.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸਖਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹਮਰੀ ਰਹਰਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुरमति नामु मेरा प्रान सखाई हरि कीरति हमरी रहरासि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gurmaṯ nām merā parān sakẖā▫ī har kīraṯ hamrī rahrās. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Name revealed to me by Guru's instruction is the friend of my very life, and God's praise is my life's vocation. Pause.
|
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਵਡਭਾਗ ਵਡੇਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
हरि जन के वडभाग वडेरे जिन हरि हरि सरधा हरि पिआस ॥
Har jan ke vadbẖāg vadere jin har har sarḏẖā har pi▫ās.
The greatest good fortune is of the men of God, who have faith in the Lord Master and thirst for God.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸਹਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਣ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥੨॥
हरि हरि नामु मिलै त्रिपतासहि मिलि संगति गुण परगासि ॥२॥
Har har nām milai ṯaripṯāsahi mil sangaṯ guṇ pargās. ||2||
By obtaining the Name of the Lord God, they are sated and meeting the society of saints their virtues shine forth.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਜਮ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
जिन्ह हरि हरि हरि रसु नामु न पाइआ ते भागहीण जम पासि ॥
Jinĥ har har har ras nām na pā▫i▫ā ṯe bẖāghīṇ jam pās.
They, who have not gained God, God's elixir and God's Name are unfortunate and are handed over to Death's myrmidon.

ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਆਏ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵੇ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
जो सतिगुर सरणि संगति नही आए ध्रिगु जीवे ध्रिगु जीवासि ॥३॥
Jo saṯgur saraṇ sangaṯ nahī ā▫e ḏẖarig jīve ḏẖarig jīvās. ||3||
Fie on the life and accursed is the hope of living of those who have not sought the society and protection of the True Guru.

ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਤਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲਿਖਾਸਿ ॥
जिन हरि जन सतिगुर संगति पाई तिन धुरि मसतकि लिखिआ लिखासि ॥
Jin har jan saṯgur sangaṯ pā▫ī ṯin ḏẖur masṯak likẖi▫ā likẖās.
The men of God who have attained the society of the True Guru they have on their fore-head the pre-ordained writ.

ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੧॥
धंनु धंनु सतसंगति जितु हरि रसु पाइआ मिलि नानक नामु परगासि ॥४॥१॥
Ḏẖan ḏẖan saṯsangaṯ jiṯ har ras pā▫i▫ā mil Nānak nām pargās. ||4||1||
Blest, blest is the saints congregation from where God's elixir is procured. By meeting God's slave, O Nanak, manifest becomes the Lord's Name.

ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹੈ ॥
गोविंदु गोविंदु प्रीतमु मनि प्रीतमु मिलि सतसंगति सबदि मनु मोहै ॥
Govinḏ govinḏ parīṯam man parīṯam mil saṯsangaṯ sabaḏ man mohai.
The Lord Master is dear, dear unto the soul of those who meet the society of saints. His Name fascinates the mind.

ਜਪਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਭ ਕਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਓਹੈ ॥੧॥
जपि गोविंदु गोविंदु धिआईऐ सभ कउ दानु देइ प्रभु ओहै ॥१॥
Jap govinḏ govinḏ ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai sabẖ ka▫o ḏān ḏe▫e parabẖ ohai. ||1||
Repeat God's Name and remember the Lord of Universe. It is the Lord who gives gifts to all.

ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਜਨਾ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹੈ ॥
मेरे भाई जना मो कउ गोविंदु गोविंदु गोविंदु मनु मोहै ॥
Mere bẖā▫ī janā mo ka▫o govinḏ govinḏ govinḏ man mohai.
O my fellow brothers God, God the World Sustainer has bewitched my mind.

ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गोविंद गोविंद गोविंद गुण गावा मिलि गुर साधसंगति जनु सोहै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Govinḏ govinḏ govinḏ guṇ gāvā mil gur sāḏẖsangaṯ jan sohai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I hymn the praise of my Lord my Lord and my Lord by joining the holy society of the Guru, and thus Thy slave is beautified. Pause.

ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਕਉਲਾ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਪਗਿ ਓਹੈ ॥
सुख सागर हरि भगति है गुरमति कउला रिधि सिधि लागै पगि ओहै ॥
Sukẖ sāgar har bẖagaṯ hai gurmaṯ ka▫ulā riḏẖ siḏẖ lāgai pag ohai.
The worship of God is an ocean of peace and by Guru's instruction wealth prosperity and supernatural powers fall at the man's feet.

ਜਨ ਕਉ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਸੋਹੈ ॥੨॥
जन कउ राम नामु आधारा हरि नामु जपत हरि नामे सोहै ॥२॥
Jan ka▫o rām nām āḏẖārā har nām japaṯ har nāme sohai. ||2||
Lord's Name is the support of His serf and God's Name he utters and with God's Name he is adorned.
