Gujri Measure. 3rd Guru.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By True Guru's grace He is obtained.
|
ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਇਵੇਹਾ ਜੀਵਣਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
ध्रिगु इवेहा जीवणा जितु हरि प्रीति न पाइ ॥
Ḏẖarig ivehā jīvṇā jiṯ har parīṯ na pā▫e.
Accursed is such a life, wherein God's love is not obtained,
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਕੰਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਗੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
जितु कमि हरि वीसरै दूजै लगै जाइ ॥१॥
Jiṯ kamm har vīsrai ḏūjai lagai jā▫e. ||1||
and accursed is the occupation in which God is forgotten and man becomes attached to duality.

ਐਸਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਮਨਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਊਪਜੈ ਅਵਰ ਵਿਸਰਿ ਸਭ ਜਾਇ ॥
ऐसा सतिगुरु सेवीऐ मना जितु सेविऐ गोविद प्रीति ऊपजै अवर विसरि सभ जाइ ॥
Aisā saṯgur sevī▫ai manā jiṯ sevi▫ai goviḏ parīṯ ūpjai avar visar sabẖ jā▫e.
O my soul, so serve the True Guru, by serving whom the Lord's love may be produced and all other be forgotten.

ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਗਹਿ ਰਹੈ ਜਰਾ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि सेती चितु गहि रहै जरा का भउ न होवई जीवन पदवी पाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har seṯī cẖiṯ gėh rahai jarā kā bẖa▫o na hova▫ī jīvan paḏvī pā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Thus the soul shall remain attached with God, there shall be no fear of old age and the man shall attain the immortal status. Pause.

ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਇਕੁ ਸਹਜੁ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਵੇਖੁ ਜੈਸੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਨੀ ॥
गोबिंद प्रीति सिउ इकु सहजु उपजिआ वेखु जैसी भगति बनी ॥
Gobinḏ parīṯ si▫o ik sahj upji▫ā vekẖ jaisī bẖagaṯ banī.
See, as is the service performed so is a Divine peace, which springs from the Lord's love.

ਆਪ ਸੇਤੀ ਆਪੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਈ ॥੨॥
आप सेती आपु खाइआ ता मनु निरमलु होआ जोती जोति समई ॥२॥
Āp seṯī āp kẖā▫i▫ā ṯā man nirmal ho▫ā joṯī joṯ sam▫ī. ||2||
With self-effort, when I stilled my self-conceit, then my mind became pure and my light got blended with the Divine light.

ਬਿਨੁ ਭਾਗਾ ਐਸਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਜੇ ਲੋਚੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
बिनु भागा ऐसा सतिगुरु न पाईऐ जे लोचै सभु कोइ ॥
Bin bẖāgā aisā saṯgur na pā▫ī▫ai je locẖai sabẖ ko▫e.
Without Good fortune, such a True Guru cannot be obtained, however much all may long for him.

ਕੂੜੈ ਕੀ ਪਾਲਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਨਿਕਲੈ ਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
कूड़ै की पालि विचहु निकलै ता सदा सुखु होइ ॥३॥
Kūrhai kī pāl vicẖahu niklai ṯā saḏā sukẖ ho▫e. ||3||
If the screen of falsehood is removed from within then an ever-lasting peace is obtained.

ਨਾਨਕ ਐਸੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਿਆ ਓਹੁ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਜੀਉ ਧਰੇਇ ॥
नानक ऐसे सतिगुर की किआ ओहु सेवकु सेवा करे गुर आगै जीउ धरेइ ॥
Nānak aise saṯgur kī ki▫ā oh sevak sevā kare gur āgai jī▫o ḏẖare▫e.
Nanak, what service can the servant perform for such a True Guru? He should lay down his very life for the Guru.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥
सतिगुर का भाणा चिति करे सतिगुरु आपे क्रिपा करेइ ॥४॥१॥३॥
Saṯgur kā bẖāṇā cẖiṯ kare saṯgur āpe kirpā kare▫i. ||4||1||3||
If the man attends to the True Guru's will, then the True Guru, himself shows him kindness.

Gujri, 3rd Guru.
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਤੁਮ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਦੂਜੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਜੀ ॥
हरि की तुम सेवा करहु दूजी सेवा करहु न कोइ जी ॥
Har kī ṯum sevā karahu ḏūjī sevā karahu na ko▫e jī.
Perform thou the service of God and perform no other service.
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਮਨਹੁ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਦੂਜੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ ਜੀ ॥੧॥
हरि की सेवा ते मनहु चिंदिआ फलु पाईऐ दूजी सेवा जनमु बिरथा जाइ जी ॥१॥
Har kī sevā ṯe manhu cẖinḏi▫ā fal pā▫ī▫ai ḏūjī sevā janam birthā jā▫e jī. ||1||
By God's service thou shalt obtain the fruits thy heart desires and by serving another thy life shall pass away in vain.

ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਾਨੀ ਜੀ ॥
हरि मेरी प्रीति रीति है हरि मेरी हरि मेरी कथा कहानी जी ॥
Har merī parīṯ rīṯ hai har merī har merī kathā kahānī jī.
The Lord is my love, the Lord is my way of life and the Lord is my discourse and narrative.

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਜੈ ਏਹਾ ਸੇਵ ਬਨੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुर प्रसादि मेरा मनु भीजै एहा सेव बनी जीउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur parsāḏ merā man bẖījai ehā sev banī jī▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By Guru's grace my mind is saturated with Lord's love and that is what constitutes my service. Pause.
|
ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਬੰਧਪੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਾਈ ॥
हरि मेरा सिम्रिति हरि मेरा सासत्र हरि मेरा बंधपु हरि मेरा भाई ॥
Har merā simriṯ har merā sāsṯar har merā banḏẖap har merā bẖā▫ī.
God is my Simritis, God is my Shashtras, God is my kinsman and God is my brother.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਮੈ ਭੂਖ ਲਾਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੈ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਕੁ ਅੰਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੨॥
हरि की मै भूख लागै हरि नामि मेरा मनु त्रिपतै हरि मेरा साकु अंति होइ सखाई ॥२॥
Har kī mai bẖūkẖ lāgai har nām merā man ṯaripṯai har merā sāk anṯ ho▫e sakẖā▫ī. ||2||
I feel hunger for the Lord. With Lord's Name my soul is satiated and the Lord is my relation, who shall be my Helper at the last moment.

ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੋਰ ਰਾਸਿ ਕੂੜੀ ਹੈ ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
हरि बिनु होर रासि कूड़ी है चलदिआ नालि न जाई ॥
Har bin hor rās kūṛī hai cẖalḏi▫ā nāl na jā▫ī.
Without the Lord, other capital is false. It goes not with the mortal when he departs.

ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਧਨੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਸਾਥਿ ਚਾਲੈ ਜਹਾ ਹਉ ਜਾਉ ਤਹ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
हरि मेरा धनु मेरै साथि चालै जहा हउ जाउ तह जाई ॥३॥
Har merā ḏẖan merai sāth cẖālai jahā ha▫o jā▫o ṯah jā▫ī. ||3||
God is my wealth, which shall abide with me and whither-so-ever I go, thither will it go.
|
ਸੋ ਝੂਠਾ ਜੋ ਝੂਠੇ ਲਾਗੈ ਝੂਠੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਈ ॥
सो झूठा जो झूठे लागै झूठे करम कमाई ॥
So jẖūṯẖā jo jẖūṯẖe lāgai jẖūṯẖe karam kamā▫ī.
He who is attached to falsehood is false and false are the deeds which he does.

ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਹੋਆ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥
कहै नानकु हरि का भाणा होआ कहणा कछू न जाई ॥४॥२॥४॥
Kahai Nānak har kā bẖāṇā ho▫ā kahṇā kacẖẖū na jā▫ī. ||4||2||4||
Says Nanak, everything happens according to God's will and the mortal has no say in it.

ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥
गूजरी महला ३ ॥

Gujri, 3rd Guru.

ਜੁਗ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੁਲੰਭੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
जुग माहि नामु दुल्मभु है गुरमुखि पाइआ जाइ ॥
Jug māhi nām ḏulambẖ hai gurmukẖ pā▫i▫ā jā▫e.
In this age, difficult to obtain is the Lord's Name. It is obtained through the Guru.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਕੋ ਵਿਉਪਾਇ ॥੧॥
बिनु नावै मुकति न होवई वेखहु को विउपाइ ॥१॥
Bin nāvai mukaṯ na hova▫ī vekẖhu ko vi▫upā▫e. ||1||
Without the Name, one is emancipated not. Let any one see it by making other efforts.
|
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥
बलिहारी गुर आपणे सद बलिहारै जाउ ॥
Balihārī gur āpṇe saḏ balihārai jā▫o.
I am a sacrifice unto my Guru. Ever a sacrifice to him, am I.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सतिगुर मिलिऐ हरि मनि वसै सहजे रहै समाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saṯgur mili▫ai har man vasai sėhje rahai samā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By meeting the True Guru, God abides within man's mind and he then automatically remains absorbed in Him. Pause.
|
ਜਾਂ ਭਉ ਪਾਏ ਆਪਣਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਉਪਜੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
जां भउ पाए आपणा बैरागु उपजै मनि आइ ॥
Jāʼn bẖa▫o pā▫e āpṇā bairāg upjai man ā▫e.
When the Lord inspires His fear in man the Lord's love springs up in his mind.

ਬੈਰਾਗੈ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
बैरागै ते हरि पाईऐ हरि सिउ रहै समाइ ॥२॥
Bairāgai ṯe har pā▫ī▫ai har si▫o rahai samā▫e. ||2||
Through the world-renunciation, the Lord is obtained and the mortal remains blended with the Lord.

ਸੇਇ ਮੁਕਤ ਜਿ ਮਨੁ ਜਿਣਹਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਧਾਤੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਆਇ ॥
सेइ मुकत जि मनु जिणहि फिरि धातु न लागै आइ ॥
Se▫e mukaṯ jė man jiṇėh fir ḏẖāṯ na lāgai ā▫e.
He alone is emancipated who conquers his mind and mammon clings not to him, again.
|
ਦਸਵੈ ਦੁਆਰਿ ਰਹਤ ਕਰੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥੩॥
दसवै दुआरि रहत करे त्रिभवण सोझी पाइ ॥३॥
Ḏasvai ḏu▫ār rahaṯ kare ṯaribẖavaṇ sojẖī pā▫e. ||3||
He abides in the Tenth Gate and obtains the knowledge of the three worlds.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਰਜਾਇ ॥
नानक गुर ते गुरु होइआ वेखहु तिस की रजाइ ॥
Nānak gur ṯe gur ho▫i▫ā vekẖhu ṯis kī rajā▫e.
By Guru Nanak's grace, Lahna became the Guru. Have a like at his wonderous will.
