ਮੇਰੀ ਬਹੁਰੀਆ ਕੋ ਧਨੀਆ ਨਾਉ
मेरी बहुरीआ को धनीआ नाउ ॥
Merī bahurī▫ā ko ḏẖanī▫ā nā▫o.
My daughter-in-law was first called Dhannia, the woman of wealth,

ਲੇ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਰਾਮ ਜਨੀਆ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥
ले राखिओ राम जनीआ नाउ ॥१॥
Le rākẖi▫o rām janī▫ā nā▫o. ||1||
but now she is called Raam-jannia, the servant of the Lord. ||1||

ਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮੁੰਡੀਅਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰੁ ਧੁੰਧਰਾਵਾ
इन्ह मुंडीअन मेरा घरु धुंधरावा ॥
Inĥ mundī▫an merā gẖar ḏẖunḏẖrāvā.
These shaven-headed saints have ruined my house.

ਬਿਟਵਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਮਊਆ ਲਾਵਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
बिटवहि राम रमऊआ लावा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bitvahi rām ram▫ū▫ā lāvā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
They have caused my son to start chanting the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause||

ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ
कहतु कबीर सुनहु मेरी माई ॥
Kahaṯ Kabīr sunhu merī mā▫ī.
Says Kabeer, listen, O mother:

ਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮੁੰਡੀਅਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੩॥
इन्ह मुंडीअन मेरी जाति गवाई ॥२॥३॥३३॥
Inĥ mundī▫an merī jāṯ gavā▫ī. ||2||3||33||
these shaven-headed saints have done away with my low social status. ||2||3||33||

ਆਸਾ
आसा ॥
Āsā.
Aasaa:

ਰਹੁ ਰਹੁ ਰੀ ਬਹੁਰੀਆ ਘੂੰਘਟੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਢੈ
रहु रहु री बहुरीआ घूंघटु जिनि काढै ॥
Rahu rahu rī bahurī▫ā gẖūngẖat jin kādẖai.
Stay, stay, O daughter-in-law - do not cover your face with a veil.

ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਲਹੈਗੀ ਆਢੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
अंत की बार लहैगी न आढै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Anṯ kī bār lahaigī na ādẖai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
In the end, this shall not bring you even half a shell. ||1||Pause||

ਘੂੰਘਟੁ ਕਾਢਿ ਗਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਗੈ
घूंघटु काढि गई तेरी आगै ॥
Gẖūngẖat kādẖ ga▫ī ṯerī āgai.
The one before you used to veil her face;

ਉਨ ਕੀ ਗੈਲਿ ਤੋਹਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥
उन की गैलि तोहि जिनि लागै ॥१॥
Un kī gail ṯohi jin lāgai. ||1||
do not follow in her footsteps. ||1||

ਘੂੰਘਟ ਕਾਢੇ ਕੀ ਇਹੈ ਬਡਾਈ
घूंघट काढे की इहै बडाई ॥
Gẖūngẖat kādẖe kī ihai badā▫ī.
The only merit in veiling your face is

ਦਿਨ ਦਸ ਪਾਂਚ ਬਹੂ ਭਲੇ ਆਈ ॥੨॥
दिन दस पांच बहू भले आई ॥२॥
Ḏin ḏas pāʼncẖ bahū bẖale ā▫ī. ||2||
that for a few days, people will say, "What a noble bride has come". ||2||

ਘੂੰਘਟੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਤਉ ਪਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ
घूंघटु तेरो तउ परि साचै ॥
Gẖūngẖat ṯero ṯa▫o par sācẖai.
Your veil shall be true only if

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਕੂਦਹਿ ਅਰੁ ਨਾਚੈ ॥੩॥
हरि गुन गाइ कूदहि अरु नाचै ॥३॥
Har gun gā▫e kūḏėh ar nācẖai. ||3||
you skip, dance and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||

ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਬਹੂ ਤਬ ਜੀਤੈ
कहत कबीर बहू तब जीतै ॥
Kahaṯ Kabīr bahū ṯab jīṯai.
Says Kabeer, the soul-bride shall win,

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਜਨਮੁ ਬਿਤੀਤੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੪॥
हरि गुन गावत जनमु बितीतै ॥४॥१॥३४॥
Har gun gāvaṯ janam biṯīṯai. ||4||1||34||
only if she passes her life singing the Lord's Praises. ||4||1||34||

ਆਸਾ
आसा ॥
Āsā.
Aasaa:

ਕਰਵਤੁ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਵਟ ਤੇਰੀ
करवतु भला न करवट तेरी ॥
Karvaṯ bẖalā na karvat ṯerī.
I would rather be cut apart by a saw, than have You turn Your back on me.

ਲਾਗੁ ਗਲੇ ਸੁਨੁ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਮੇਰੀ ॥੧॥
लागु गले सुनु बिनती मेरी ॥१॥
Lāg gale sun binṯī merī. ||1||
Hug me close, and listen to my prayer. ||1||

ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਮੁਖੁ ਫੇਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ
हउ वारी मुखु फेरि पिआरे ॥
Ha▫o vārī mukẖ fer pi▫āre.
I am a sacrifice to You - please, turn Your face to me, O Beloved Lord.

ਕਰਵਟੁ ਦੇ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
करवटु दे मो कउ काहे कउ मारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Karvat ḏe mo ka▫o kāhe ka▫o māre. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Why have You turned Your back to me? Why have You killed me? ||1||Pause||

ਜਉ ਤਨੁ ਚੀਰਹਿ ਅੰਗੁ ਮੋਰਉ
जउ तनु चीरहि अंगु न मोरउ ॥
Ja▫o ṯan cẖīrėh ang na mora▫o.
Even if You cut my body apart, I shall not pull my limbs away from You.

ਪਿੰਡੁ ਪਰੈ ਤਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਤੋਰਉ ॥੨॥
पिंडु परै तउ प्रीति न तोरउ ॥२॥
Pind parai ṯa▫o parīṯ na ṯora▫o. ||2||
Even if my body falls, I shall not break my bonds of love with You. ||2||

ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਬੀਚੁ ਭਇਓ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ
हम तुम बीचु भइओ नही कोई ॥
Ham ṯum bīcẖ bẖa▫i▫o nahī ko▫ī.
Between You and I, there is no other.

ਤੁਮਹਿ ਸੁ ਕੰਤ ਨਾਰਿ ਹਮ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
तुमहि सु कंत नारि हम सोई ॥३॥
Ŧumėh so kanṯ nār ham so▫ī. ||3||
You are the Husband Lord, and I am the soul-bride. ||3||

ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਲੋਈ
कहतु कबीरु सुनहु रे लोई ॥
Kahaṯ Kabīr sunhu re lo▫ī.
Says Kabeer, listen, O people:

ਅਬ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੩੫॥
अब तुमरी परतीति न होई ॥४॥२॥३५॥
Ab ṯumrī parṯīṯ na ho▫ī. ||4||2||35||
now, I place no reliance in you. ||4||2||35||

ਆਸਾ
आसा ॥
Āsā.
Aasaa:

ਕੋਰੀ ਕੋ ਕਾਹੂ ਮਰਮੁ ਜਾਨਾਂ
कोरी को काहू मरमु न जानां ॥
Korī ko kāhū maram na jānāʼn.
No one knows the secret of God, the Cosmic Weaver.

ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਆਨਿ ਤਨਾਇਓ ਤਾਨਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
सभु जगु आनि तनाइओ तानां ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sabẖ jag ān ṯanā▫i▫o ṯānāʼn. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He has stretched out the fabric of the whole world. ||1||Pause||

ਜਬ ਤੁਮ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੇ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨਾਂ
जब तुम सुनि ले बेद पुरानां ॥
Jab ṯum sun le beḏ purānāʼn.
When you listen to the Vedas and the Puraanas,

ਤਬ ਹਮ ਇਤਨਕੁ ਪਸਰਿਓ ਤਾਨਾਂ ॥੧॥
तब हम इतनकु पसरिओ तानां ॥१॥
Ŧab ham iṯnak pasri▫o ṯānāʼn. ||1||
you shall know that the whole world is only a small piece of His woven fabric. ||1||

ਧਰਨਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਕੀ ਕਰਗਹ ਬਨਾਈ
धरनि अकास की करगह बनाई ॥
Ḏẖaran akās kī kargah banā▫ī.
He has made the earth and sky His loom.

ਚੰਦੁ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਦੁਇ ਸਾਥ ਚਲਾਈ ॥੨॥
चंदु सूरजु दुइ साथ चलाई ॥२॥
Cẖanḏ sūraj ḏu▫e sāth cẖalā▫ī. ||2||
Upon it, He moves the two bobbins of the sun and the moon. ||2||

ਪਾਈ ਜੋਰਿ ਬਾਤ ਇਕ ਕੀਨੀ ਤਹ ਤਾਂਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਾਂ
पाई जोरि बात इक कीनी तह तांती मनु मानां ॥
Pā▫ī jor bāṯ ik kīnī ṯah ṯāʼnṯī man mānāʼn.
Placing my feet together, I have accomplished one thing - my mind is pleased with that Weaver.

ਜੋਲਾਹੇ ਘਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਟ ਹੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਨਾਂ ॥੩॥
जोलाहे घरु अपना चीन्हां घट ही रामु पछानां ॥३॥
Jolāhe gẖar apnā cẖīnĥāʼn gẖat hī rām pacẖẖānāʼn. ||3||
I have come to understand my own home, and recognize the Lord within my heart. ||3||

ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਕਾਰਗਹ ਤੋਰੀ
कहतु कबीरु कारगह तोरी ॥
Kahaṯ Kabīr kārgah ṯorī.
Says Kabeer, when my body workshop breaks,

ਸੂਤੈ ਸੂਤ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਕੋਰੀ ॥੪॥੩॥੩੬॥
सूतै सूत मिलाए कोरी ॥४॥३॥३६॥
Sūṯai sūṯ milā▫e korī. ||4||3||36||
the Weaver shall blend my thread with His thread. ||4||3||36||

ਆਸਾ
आसा ॥
Āsā.
Aasaa:

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਜੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਜਾਨਾਂ
अंतरि मैलु जे तीरथ नावै तिसु बैकुंठ न जानां ॥
Anṯar mail je ṯirath nāvai ṯis baikunṯẖ na jānāʼn.
With filth within the heart, even if one bathes at sacred places of pilgrimage, still, he shall not go to heaven.

ਲੋਕ ਪਤੀਣੇ ਕਛੂ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਅਯਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
लोक पतीणे कछू न होवै नाही रामु अयाना ॥१॥
Lok paṯīṇe kacẖẖū na hovai nāhī rām eānā. ||1||
Nothing is gained by trying to please others - the Lord cannot be fooled. ||1||

ਪੂਜਹੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੀ ਦੇਵਾ
पूजहु रामु एकु ही देवा ॥
Pūjahu rām ek hī ḏevā.
Worship the One Divine Lord.

ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਵਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
साचा नावणु गुर की सेवा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sācẖā nāvaṇ gur kī sevā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The true cleansing bath is service to the Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਜਲ ਕੈ ਮਜਨਿ ਜੇ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਮੇਂਡੁਕ ਨਾਵਹਿ
जल कै मजनि जे गति होवै नित नित मेंडुक नावहि ॥
Jal kai majan je gaṯ hovai niṯ niṯ meʼnduk nāvėh.
If salvation can be obtained by bathing in water, then what about the frog, which is always bathing in water?

ਜੈਸੇ ਮੇਂਡੁਕ ਤੈਸੇ ਓਇ ਨਰ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਆਵਹਿ ॥੨॥
जैसे मेंडुक तैसे ओइ नर फिरि फिरि जोनी आवहि ॥२॥
Jaise meʼnduk ṯaise o▫e nar fir fir jonī āvahi. ||2||
As is the frog, so is that mortal; he is reincarnated, over and over again. ||2||

ਮਨਹੁ ਕਠੋਰੁ ਮਰੈ ਬਾਨਾਰਸਿ ਨਰਕੁ ਬਾਂਚਿਆ ਜਾਈ
मनहु कठोरु मरै बानारसि नरकु न बांचिआ जाई ॥
Manhu kaṯẖor marai bānāras narak na bāʼncẖi▫ā jā▫ī.
If the hard-hearted sinner dies in Benaares, he cannot escape hell.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਹਾੜੰਬੈ ਸਗਲੀ ਸੈਨ ਤਰਾਈ ॥੩॥
हरि का संतु मरै हाड़्मबै त सगली सैन तराई ॥३॥
Har kā sanṯ marai hāṛambai ṯa saglī sain ṯarā▫ī. ||3||
And even if the Lord's Saint dies in the cursed land of Haramba, still, he saves all his family. ||3||

ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਬੇਦੁ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਤਹਾ ਬਸੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ
दिनसु न रैनि बेदु नही सासत्र तहा बसै निरंकारा ॥
Ḏinas na rain beḏ nahī sāsṯar ṯahā basai nirankārā.
Where there is neither day nor night, and neither Vedas nor Shaastras, there, the Formless Lord abides.

ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਨਰ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਬਾਵਰਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੪॥੩੭॥
कहि कबीर नर तिसहि धिआवहु बावरिआ संसारा ॥४॥४॥३७॥
Kahi Kabīr nar ṯisėh ḏẖi▫āvahu bāvri▫ā sansārā. ||4||4||37||
Says Kabeer, meditate on Him, O mad-men of the world. ||4||4||37||
