ਤੰਤ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਸਭ ਅਉਖਧ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਊ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੨॥
तंत मंत्र सभ अउखध जानहि अंति तऊ मरना ॥२॥
Ŧanṯ manṯar sabẖ a▫ukẖaḏẖ jānėh anṯ ṯa▫ū marnā. ||2||
those who know Tantras and mantras and all medicines - even they shall die in the end. ||2||

ਰਾਜ ਭੋਗ ਅਰੁ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨ ਬਹੁ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਰਮਨਾ
राज भोग अरु छत्र सिंघासन बहु सुंदरि रमना ॥
Rāj bẖog ar cẖẖaṯar singẖāsan baho sunḏar ramnā.
Those who enjoy regal power and rule, royal canopies and thrones, many beautiful women,

ਪਾਨ ਕਪੂਰ ਸੁਬਾਸਕ ਚੰਦਨ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਊ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੩॥
पान कपूर सुबासक चंदन अंति तऊ मरना ॥३॥
Pān kapūr subāsak cẖanḏan anṯ ṯa▫ū marnā. ||3||
betel nuts, camphor and fragrant sandalwood oil - in the end, they too shall die. ||3||

ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਭ ਖੋਜੇ ਕਹੂ ਊਬਰਨਾ
बेद पुरान सिम्रिति सभ खोजे कहू न ऊबरना ॥
Beḏ purān simriṯ sabẖ kẖoje kahū na ūbarnā.
I have searched all the Vedas, Puraanas and Simritees, but none of these can save anyone.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਇਉ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਜੰਪਉ ਮੇਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੪॥੫॥
कहु कबीर इउ रामहि ज्मपउ मेटि जनम मरना ॥४॥५॥
Kaho Kabīr i▫o rāmėh jampa▫o met janam marnā. ||4||5||
Says Kabeer, meditate on the Lord, and eliminate birth and death. ||4||5||

Āsā.
Aasaa:

ਫੀਲੁ ਰਬਾਬੀ ਬਲਦੁ ਪਖਾਵਜ ਕਊਆ ਤਾਲ ਬਜਾਵੈ
फीलु रबाबी बलदु पखावज कऊआ ताल बजावै ॥
Fīl rabābī balaḏ pakẖāvaj ka▫ū▫ā ṯāl bajāvai.
The elephant is the guitar player, the ox is the drummer, and the crow plays the cymbals.

ਪਹਿਰਿ ਚੋਲਨਾ ਗਦਹਾ ਨਾਚੈ ਭੈਸਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
पहिरि चोलना गदहा नाचै भैसा भगति करावै ॥१॥
Pahir cẖolnā gaḏhā nācẖai bẖaisā bẖagaṯ karāvai. ||1||
Putting on the skirt, the donkey dances around, and the water buffalo performs devotional worship. ||1||

ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਕਕਰੀਆ ਬਰੇ ਪਕਾਏ
राजा राम ककरीआ बरे पकाए ॥
Rājā rām kakrī▫ā bare pakā▫e.
The Lord, the King, has cooked the cakes of ice,

ਕਿਨੈ ਬੂਝਨਹਾਰੈ ਖਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
किनै बूझनहारै खाए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kinai būjẖanhārai kẖā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
but only the rare man of understanding eats them. ||1||Pause||

ਬੈਠਿ ਸਿੰਘੁ ਘਰਿ ਪਾਨ ਲਗਾਵੈ ਘੀਸ ਗਲਉਰੇ ਲਿਆਵੈ
बैठि सिंघु घरि पान लगावै घीस गलउरे लिआवै ॥
Baiṯẖ singẖ gẖar pān lagāvai gẖīs gal▫ure li▫āvai.
Sitting in his den, the lion prepares the betel leaves, and the muskrat brings the betel nuts.

ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮੁਸਰੀ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਕਛੂਆ ਸੰਖੁ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
घरि घरि मुसरी मंगलु गावहि कछूआ संखु बजावै ॥२॥
Gẖar gẖar musrī mangal gāvahi kacẖẖū▫ā sankẖ bajāvai. ||2||
Going from house to house, the mouse sings the songs of joy, and the turtle blows on the conch-shell. ||2||

ਬੰਸ ਕੋ ਪੂਤੁ ਬੀਆਹਨ ਚਲਿਆ ਸੁਇਨੇ ਮੰਡਪ ਛਾਏ
बंस को पूतु बीआहन चलिआ सुइने मंडप छाए ॥
Bans ko pūṯ bī▫āhan cẖali▫ā su▫ine mandap cẖẖā▫e.
The son of the sterile woman goes to get married, and the golden canopy is spread out for him.

ਰੂਪ ਕੰਨਿਆ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਬੇਧੀ ਸਸੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ॥੩॥
रूप कंनिआ सुंदरि बेधी ससै सिंघ गुन गाए ॥३॥
Rūp kanniā sunḏar beḏẖī sasai singẖ gun gā▫e. ||3||
He marries a beautiful and enticing young woman; the rabbit and the lion sing their praises. ||3||

ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਕੀਟੀ ਪਰਬਤੁ ਖਾਇਆ
कहत कबीर सुनहु रे संतहु कीटी परबतु खाइआ ॥
Kahaṯ Kabīr sunhu re sanṯahu kītī parbaṯ kẖā▫i▫ā.
Says Kabeer, listen, O Saints - the ant has eaten the mountain.

ਕਛੂਆ ਕਹੈ ਅੰਗਾਰ ਭਿ ਲੋਰਉ ਲੂਕੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਨਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੬॥
कछूआ कहै अंगार भि लोरउ लूकी सबदु सुनाइआ ॥४॥६॥
Kacẖẖū▫ā kahai angār bẖė lora▫o lūkī sabaḏ sunā▫i▫ā. ||4||6||
The turtle says, "I need a burning coal, also". Listen to this mystery of the Shabad. ||4||6||

ਆਸਾ
आसा ॥
Āsā.
Aasaa:

ਬਟੂਆ ਏਕੁ ਬਹਤਰਿ ਆਧਾਰੀ ਏਕੋ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਦੁਆਰਾ
बटूआ एकु बहतरि आधारी एको जिसहि दुआरा ॥
Batū▫ā ek bahṯar āḏẖārī eko jisahi ḏu▫ārā.
The body is a bag with seventy-two chambers, and one opening, the Tenth Gate.

ਨਵੈ ਖੰਡ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਮਾਗੈ ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਗਿ ਸਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
नवै खंड की प्रिथमी मागै सो जोगी जगि सारा ॥१॥
Navai kẖand kī parithmī māgai so jogī jag sārā. ||1||
He alone is a real Yogi on this earth, who asks for the primal world of the nine regions. ||1||

ਐਸਾ ਜੋਗੀ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਵੈ
ऐसा जोगी नउ निधि पावै ॥
Aisā jogī na▫o niḏẖ pāvai.
Such a Yogi obtains the nine treasures.

ਤਲ ਕਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਲੇ ਗਗਨਿ ਚਰਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
तल का ब्रहमु ले गगनि चरावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧal kā barahm le gagan cẖarāvai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He lifts his soul up from below, to the skies of the Tenth Gate. ||1||Pause||

ਖਿੰਥਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰਿ ਸੂਈ ਸਬਦੁ ਤਾਗਾ ਮਥਿ ਘਾਲੈ
खिंथा गिआन धिआन करि सूई सबदु तागा मथि घालै ॥
Kẖinthā gi▫ān ḏẖi▫ān kar sū▫ī sabaḏ ṯāgā math gẖālai.
He makes spiritual wisdom his patched coat, and meditation his needle. He twists the thread of the Word of the Shabad.

ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਮਿਰਗਾਣੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਾਲੈ ॥੨॥
पंच ततु की करि मिरगाणी गुर कै मारगि चालै ॥२॥
Pancẖ ṯaṯ kī kar mirgāṇī gur kai mārag cẖālai. ||2||
Making the five elements his deer skin to sit on, he walks on the Guru's Path. ||2||

ਦਇਆ ਫਾਹੁਰੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਧੂਈ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਜਲਾਵੈ
दइआ फाहुरी काइआ करि धूई द्रिसटि की अगनि जलावै ॥
Ḏa▫i▫ā fāhurī kā▫i▫ā kar ḏẖū▫ī ḏarisat kī agan jalāvai.
He makes compassion his shovel, his body the firewood, and he kindles the fire of divine vision.

ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਭਾਉ ਲਏ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
तिस का भाउ लए रिद अंतरि चहु जुग ताड़ी लावै ॥३॥
Ŧis kā bẖā▫o la▫e riḏ anṯar cẖahu jug ṯāṛī lāvai. ||3||
He places love within his heart, and he remains in deep meditation throughout the four ages. ||3||

ਸਭ ਜੋਗਤਣ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਪਰਾਨਾ
सभ जोगतण राम नामु है जिस का पिंडु पराना ॥
Sabẖ jogṯaṇ rām nām hai jis kā pind parānā.
All Yoga is in the Name of the Lord; the body and the breath of life belong to Him.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ਦੇਇ ਸਚਾ ਨੀਸਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੭॥
कहु कबीर जे किरपा धारै देइ सचा नीसाना ॥४॥७॥
Kaho Kabīr je kirpā ḏẖārai ḏe▫e sacẖā nīsānā. ||4||7||
Says Kabeer, if God grants His Grace, He bestows the insignia of Truth. ||4||7||

ਆਸਾ

Aasaa:

ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੁਰਕ ਕਹਾ ਤੇ ਆਏ ਕਿਨਿ ਏਹ ਰਾਹ ਚਲਾਈ
हिंदू तुरक कहा ते आए किनि एह राह चलाई ॥
Hinḏū ṯurak kahā ṯe ā▫e kin eh rāh cẖalā▫ī.
Where have the Hindus and Muslims come from? Who put them on their different paths?

ਦਿਲ ਮਹਿ ਸੋਚਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ਕਵਾਦੇ ਭਿਸਤ ਦੋਜਕ ਕਿਨਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
दिल महि सोचि बिचारि कवादे भिसत दोजक किनि पाई ॥१॥
Ḏil mėh socẖ bicẖār kavāḏe bẖisaṯ ḏojak kin pā▫ī. ||1||
Think of this, and contemplate it within your mind, O men of evil intentions. Who will go to heaven and hell? ||1||

ਕਾਜੀ ਤੈ ਕਵਨ ਕਤੇਬ ਬਖਾਨੀ
काजी तै कवन कतेब बखानी ॥
Kājī ṯai kavan kaṯeb bakẖānī.
O Qazi, which book have you read?

ਪੜ੍ਹਤ ਗੁਨਤ ਐਸੇ ਸਭ ਮਾਰੇ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਖਬਰਿ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
पड़्हत गुनत ऐसे सभ मारे किनहूं खबरि न जानी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Paṛĥaṯ gunaṯ aise sabẖ māre kinhūʼn kẖabar na jānī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Such scholars and students have all died, and none of them have discovered the inner meaning. ||1||Pause||

ਸਕਤਿ ਸਨੇਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਸੁੰਨਤਿ ਕਰੀਐ ਮੈ ਬਦਉਗਾ ਭਾਈ
सकति सनेहु करि सुंनति करीऐ मै न बदउगा भाई ॥
Sakaṯ sanehu kar sunaṯ karī▫ai mai na baḏ▫ugā bẖā▫ī.
Because of the love of woman, circumcision is done; I don't believe in it, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਜਉ ਰੇ ਖੁਦਾਇ ਮੋਹਿ ਤੁਰਕੁ ਕਰੈਗਾ ਆਪਨ ਹੀ ਕਟਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
जउ रे खुदाइ मोहि तुरकु करैगा आपन ही कटि जाई ॥२॥
Ja▫o re kẖuḏā▫e mohi ṯurak karaigā āpan hī kat jā▫ī. ||2||
If God wished me to be a Muslim, it would be cut off by itself. ||2||

ਸੁੰਨਤਿ ਕੀਏ ਤੁਰਕੁ ਜੇ ਹੋਇਗਾ ਅਉਰਤ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੀਐ
सुंनति कीए तुरकु जे होइगा अउरत का किआ करीऐ ॥
Sunaṯ kī▫e ṯurak je ho▫igā a▫uraṯ kā ki▫ā karī▫ai.
If circumcision makes one a Muslim, then what about a woman?

ਅਰਧ ਸਰੀਰੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਛੋਡੈ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਹੀ ਰਹੀਐ ॥੩॥
अरध सरीरी नारि न छोडै ता ते हिंदू ही रहीऐ ॥३॥
Araḏẖ sarīrī nār na cẖẖodai ṯā ṯe hinḏū hī rahī▫ai. ||3||
She is the other half of a man's body, and she does not leave him, so he remains a Hindu. ||3||

ਛਾਡਿ ਕਤੇਬ ਰਾਮੁ ਭਜੁ ਬਉਰੇ ਜੁਲਮ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ਭਾਰੀ
छाडि कतेब रामु भजु बउरे जुलम करत है भारी ॥
Cẖẖād kaṯeb rām bẖaj ba▫ure julam karaṯ hai bẖārī.
Give up your holy books, and remember the Lord, you fool, and stop oppressing others so badly.

ਕਬੀਰੈ ਪਕਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਤੁਰਕ ਰਹੇ ਪਚਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੮॥
कबीरै पकरी टेक राम की तुरक रहे पचिहारी ॥४॥८॥
Kabīrai pakrī tek rām kī ṯurak rahe pacẖihārī. ||4||8||
Kabeer has grasped hold of the Lord's Support, and the Muslims have utterly failed. ||4||8||

ਆਸਾ
आसा ॥
Āsā.
Aasaa:

ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤੇਲੁ ਦੀਵੇ ਮੁਖਿ ਬਾਤੀ ਤਬ ਸੂਝੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ
जब लगु तेलु दीवे मुखि बाती तब सूझै सभु कोई ॥
Jab lag ṯel ḏīve mukẖ bāṯī ṯab sūjẖai sabẖ ko▫ī.
As long as the oil and the wick are in the lamp, everything is illuminated.
