ਗਜ ਸਾਢੇ ਤੈ ਤੈ ਧੋਤੀਆ ਤਿਹਰੇ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਤਗ ॥
गज साढे तै तै धोतीआ तिहरे पाइनि तग ॥
Gaj sādẖe ṯai ṯai ḏẖoṯī▫ā ṯihre pā▫in ṯag.
They wear loin-cloths three and a half yards long, and there fold sacred threads.

ਗਲੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਜਪਮਾਲੀਆ ਲੋਟੇ ਹਥਿ ਨਿਬਗ ॥
गली जिन्हा जपमालीआ लोटे हथि निबग ॥
Galī jinĥā japmālī▫ā lote hath nibag.
They have rosaries around their necks and glittering jugs in their hands.

ਓਇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਬਾਨਾਰਸਿ ਕੇ ਠਗ ॥੧॥
ओइ हरि के संत न आखीअहि बानारसि के ठग ॥१॥
O▫e har ke sanṯ na ākẖī▫ahi bānāras ke ṯẖag. ||1||
They are not called the saints of God, but the cheats of Kanshi.
|
ਐਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਭਾਵਹਿ ॥
ऐसे संत न मो कउ भावहि ॥
Aise sanṯ na mo ka▫o bẖāvėh.
Such saints are not pleasing to me,
|
ਡਾਲਾ ਸਿਉ ਪੇਡਾ ਗਟਕਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
डाला सिउ पेडा गटकावहि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Dālā si▫o pedā gatkāvahi. ||1|| rahā▫o.
they devour trees including their stems. Pause.
|
ਬਾਸਨ ਮਾਂਜਿ ਚਰਾਵਹਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਾਠੀ ਧੋਇ ਜਲਾਵਹਿ ॥
बासन मांजि चरावहि ऊपरि काठी धोइ जलावहि ॥
Bāsan māʼnj cẖarāvėh ūpar kāṯẖī ḏẖo▫e jalāvėh.
They scrub their vessels and put them on fire and born the wood after washing.

ਬਸੁਧਾ ਖੋਦਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦੁਇ ਚੂਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਣਸ ਖਾਵਹਿ ॥੨॥
बसुधा खोदि करहि दुइ चूल्हे सारे माणस खावहि ॥२॥
Basuḏẖā kẖoḏ karahi ḏu▫e cẖūlĥe sāre māṇas kẖāvėh. ||2||
Digging up the earth, they, make two fire-places and eat up the whole man.

ਓਇ ਪਾਪੀ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਅਪਰਸ ਕਹਾਵਹਿ ॥
ओइ पापी सदा फिरहि अपराधी मुखहु अपरस कहावहि ॥
O▫e pāpī saḏā firėh aprāḏẖī mukẖahu apras kahāvėh.
Those sinners ever wander in evil deeds and call themselves touch me not supreme saints.
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਸਗਲ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਡੁਬਾਵਹਿ ॥੩॥
सदा सदा फिरहि अभिमानी सगल कुट्मब डुबावहि ॥३॥
Saḏā saḏā firėh abẖimānī sagal kutamb dubāvėh. ||3||
Ever and over they roam about in self-conceit and drown all their families.
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਕੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੈਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
जितु को लाइआ तित ही लागा तैसे करम कमावै ॥
Jiṯ ko lā▫i▫ā ṯiṯ hī lāgā ṯaise karam kamāvai.
The man is attached to that, with which the Lord has attached him, and he acts accordingly.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੪॥੨॥
कहु कबीर जिसु सतिगुरु भेटै पुनरपि जनमि न आवै ॥४॥२॥
Kaho Kabīr jis saṯgur bẖetai punrap janam na āvai. ||4||2||
Says Kabir he who meets the True Guru, is not born again.

ਬਾਪਿ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਮੇਰੋ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥
बापि दिलासा मेरो कीन्हा ॥
Bāp ḏilāsā mero kīnĥā.
My father (God) has comforted me.
|
ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਦੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥
सेज सुखाली मुखि अम्रितु दीन्हा ॥
Sej sukẖālī mukẖ amriṯ ḏīnĥā.
He has given me a comfortable bed and has put Nectar into my mouth.

ਤਿਸੁ ਬਾਪ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
तिसु बाप कउ किउ मनहु विसारी ॥
Ŧis bāp ka▫o ki▫o manhu visārī.
That Father how can I forget from my mind?

ਆਗੈ ਗਇਆ ਨ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
आगै गइआ न बाजी हारी ॥१॥
Āgai ga▫i▫ā na bājī hārī. ||1||
When I go to the world beyond, I shall not lose my game.
|
ਮੁਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ਹਉ ਖਰਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ॥
मुई मेरी माई हउ खरा सुखाला ॥
Mu▫ī merī mā▫ī ha▫o kẖarā sukẖālā.
Dead is mammon, my mother, and I am very happy.
|
ਪਹਿਰਉ ਨਹੀ ਦਗਲੀ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
पहिरउ नही दगली लगै न पाला ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Pahira▫o nahī ḏaglī lagai na pālā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I wear not the patched coat nor do I feel the frost. Pause.
|
ਬਲਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਾਪੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਉ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
बलि तिसु बापै जिनि हउ जाइआ ॥
Bal ṯis bāpai jin ha▫o jā▫i▫ā.
I am a sacrifice unto the Father who begot me.
|
ਪੰਚਾ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
पंचा ते मेरा संगु चुकाइआ ॥
Pancẖā ṯe merā sang cẖukā▫i▫ā.
he has put an end to my companionship with the five deadly sins.
|
ਪੰਚ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਾਵਾ ਤਲਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥
पंच मारि पावा तलि दीने ॥
Pancẖ mār pāvā ṯal ḏīne.
I have slayed the five demons and trampled them under my feet.
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਭੀਨੇ ॥੨॥
हरि सिमरनि मेरा मनु तनु भीने ॥२॥
Har simran merā man ṯan bẖīne. ||2||
In God's meditation my soul and body are drenched.
|
ਪਿਤਾ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਵਡ ਗੋਸਾਈ ॥
पिता हमारो वड गोसाई ॥
Piṯā hamāro vad gosā▫ī.
My Father is the great Lord of the world.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਹਿ ਹਉ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
तिसु पिता पहि हउ किउ करि जाई ॥
Ŧis piṯā pėh ha▫o ki▫o kar jā▫ī.
How shall I go to that Father?
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਤ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
सतिगुर मिले त मारगु दिखाइआ ॥
Saṯgur mile ṯa mārag ḏikẖā▫i▫ā.
When I met the True Guru, he showed me the way, then.
|
ਜਗਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
जगत पिता मेरै मनि भाइआ ॥३॥
Jagaṯ piṯā merai man bẖā▫i▫ā. ||3||
The Father of the universe is pleasing to my mind.
|
ਹਉ ਪੂਤੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਪੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
हउ पूतु तेरा तूं बापु मेरा ॥
Ha▫o pūṯ ṯerā ṯūʼn bāp merā.
I am Thy son and Thou art my Father.
|
ਏਕੈ ਠਾਹਰ ਦੁਹਾ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥
एकै ठाहर दुहा बसेरा ॥
Ėkai ṯẖāhar ḏuhā baserā.
We both abide in one and the same place.
|
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਨਿ ਏਕੋ ਬੂਝਿਆ ॥
कहु कबीर जनि एको बूझिआ ॥
Kaho Kabīr jan eko būjẖi▫ā.
Says Kabir, God's slave knows but one God.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੂਝਿਆ ॥੪॥੩॥
गुर प्रसादि मै सभु किछु सूझिआ ॥४॥३॥
Gur parsāḏ mai sabẖ kicẖẖ sūjẖi▫ā. ||4||3||
By Guru's grace I have come to know everything.

ਇਕਤੁ ਪਤਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਉਰਕਟ ਕੁਰਕਟ ਇਕਤੁ ਪਤਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਪਾਨੀ ॥
इकतु पतरि भरि उरकट कुरकट इकतु पतरि भरि पानी ॥
Ikaṯ paṯar bẖar urkat kurkat ikaṯ paṯar bẖar pānī.
In one vessel they put a cooked chicken and in another vessel they put water (wine).
|
ਆਸਿ ਪਾਸਿ ਪੰਚ ਜੋਗੀਆ ਬੈਠੇ ਬੀਚਿ ਨਕਟ ਦੇ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
आसि पासि पंच जोगीआ बैठे बीचि नकट दे रानी ॥१॥
Ās pās pancẖ jogī▫ā baiṯẖe bīcẖ nakat ḏe rānī. ||1||
The five Yogis sit all around and amidst sits the noseless, adorable queen.
|
ਨਕਟੀ ਕੋ ਠਨਗਨੁ ਬਾਡਾ ਡੂੰ ॥
नकटी को ठनगनु बाडा डूं ॥
Naktī ko ṯẖangan bādā dūʼn.
The bell of the noseless mammon rings in both the worlds.
|
ਕਿਨਹਿ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਕਾਟੀ ਤੂੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
किनहि बिबेकी काटी तूं ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kinėh bibekī kātī ṯūʼn. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Some discerning persons has cut off thy nose. Pause.
|
ਸਗਲ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਕਟੀ ਕਾ ਵਾਸਾ ਸਗਲ ਮਾਰਿ ਅਉਹੇਰੀ ॥
सगल माहि नकटी का वासा सगल मारि अउहेरी ॥
Sagal māhi naktī kā vāsā sagal mār a▫uherī.
Within all abides the noseless mammon who kills all and looks upon them.
|
ਸਗਲਿਆ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਬਹਿਨ ਭਾਨਜੀ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਬਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਚੇਰੀ ॥੨॥
सगलिआ की हउ बहिन भानजी जिनहि बरी तिसु चेरी ॥२॥
Sagli▫ā kī ha▫o bahin bẖānjī jinėh barī ṯis cẖerī. ||2||
Says she, I am the sister and sister's daughter of all, and I am the hand-maiden of him who marries me.
|
ਹਮਰੋ ਭਰਤਾ ਬਡੋ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਆਪੇ ਸੰਤੁ ਕਹਾਵੈ ॥
हमरो भरता बडो बिबेकी आपे संतु कहावै ॥
Hamro bẖarṯā bado bibekī āpe sanṯ kahāvai.
My Husband is the great discerner and he alone is called a saint.
|
ਓਹੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਮਾਥੈ ਕਾਇਮੁ ਅਉਰੁ ਹਮਰੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੩॥
ओहु हमारै माथै काइमु अउरु हमरै निकटि न आवै ॥३॥
Oh hamārai māthai kā▫im a▫or hamrai nikat na āvai. ||3||
He ever stands on my head and none else comes near me.
|
ਨਾਕਹੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਾਨਹੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੂਟਿ ਕੈ ਡਾਰੀ ॥
नाकहु काटी कानहु काटी काटि कूटि कै डारी ॥
Nākahu kātī kānahu kātī kāt kūt kai dārī.
I have cut off her nose and shorn off her ears and having chopped and thrashed, I have expelled her.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਬੈਰਨਿ ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੪॥੪॥
कहु कबीर संतन की बैरनि तीनि लोक की पिआरी ॥४॥४॥
Kaho Kabīr sanṯan kī bairan ṯīn lok kī pi▫ārī. ||4||4||
Says Kabir, darling of the three worlds, she is an enemy of the saints.

ਜੋਗੀ ਜਤੀ ਤਪੀ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਬਹੁ ਤੀਰਥ ਭ੍ਰਮਨਾ ॥
जोगी जती तपी संनिआसी बहु तीरथ भ्रमना ॥
Jogī jaṯī ṯapī sani▫āsī baho ṯirath bẖarmanā.
The Yogis, celibates penitents and anchorets repair to many places of pilgrimage.
|
ਲੁੰਜਿਤ ਮੁੰਜਿਤ ਮੋਨਿ ਜਟਾਧਰ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਊ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
लुंजित मुंजित मोनि जटाधर अंति तऊ मरना ॥१॥
Luʼnjiṯ muʼnjiṯ mon jatāḏẖar anṯ ṯa▫ū marnā. ||1||
The plucked-hair, jains, the shaved, the silent, the matted hair mendicants shall die in the end.
|
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੇਵੀਅਲੇ ਰਾਮਨਾ ॥
ता ते सेवीअले रामना ॥
Ŧā ṯe sevī▫ale rāmnā.
Wherefore meditate on the Lord's Name.
|
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਤੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਜਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
रसना राम नाम हितु जा कै कहा करै जमना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Rasnā rām nām hiṯ jā kai kahā karai jamnā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
What can Death's Courier do unto him, whose tongue cherishes love for Lord's Name. Pause.
|
ਆਗਮ ਨਿਰਗਮ ਜੋਤਿਕ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਆਕਰਨਾ ॥
आगम निरगम जोतिक जानहि बहु बहु बिआकरना ॥
Āgam nirgam joṯik jānėh baho baho bi▫ākarnā.
They who know Shashtras, the Vedas, astrology and grammars of good many languages.
