ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ਅਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਜਾਪੈ ਗੁਰ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ
भगति निराली अलाह दी जापै गुर वीचारि ॥
Bẖagaṯ nirālī alāh ḏī jāpai gur vīcẖār.
The worship of the Lord is unique - it is known only by reflecting upon the Guru.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਭੈ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥੯॥੧੪॥੩੬॥
नानक नामु हिरदै वसै भै भगती नामि सवारि ॥९॥१४॥३६॥
Nānak nām hirḏai vasai bẖai bẖagṯī nām savār. ||9||14||36||
O Nanak, one whose mind is filled with the Naam, through the Lord's Fear and devotion, is embellished with the Naam. ||9||14||36||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
आसा महला ३ ॥
Āsā mėhlā 3.
Aasaa, Third Mehl:

ਅਨ ਰਸ ਮਹਿ ਭੋਲਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੈ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਇ
अन रस महि भोलाइआ बिनु नामै दुख पाइ ॥
An ras mėh bẖolā▫i▫ā bin nāmai ḏukẖ pā▫e.
He wanders around, engrossed in other pleasures, but without the Naam, he suffers in pain.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਜਿ ਸਚੀ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥੧॥
सतिगुरु पुरखु न भेटिओ जि सची बूझ बुझाइ ॥१॥
Saṯgur purakẖ na bẖeti▫o jė sacẖī būjẖ bujẖā▫e. ||1||
He does not meet the True Guru, the Primal Being, who imparts true understanding. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਵਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਖਿ ਸਾਦੁ ਪਾਇ
ए मन मेरे बावले हरि रसु चखि सादु पाइ ॥
Ė man mere bāvle har ras cẖakẖ sāḏ pā▫e.
O my insane mind, drink in the sublime essence of the Lord, and savor its taste.

ਅਨ ਰਸਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੂੰ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
अन रसि लागा तूं फिरहि बिरथा जनमु गवाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
An ras lāgā ṯūʼn firėh birthā janam gavā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Attached to other pleasures, you wander around, and your life wastes away uselessly. ||1||Pause||

ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ
इसु जुग महि गुरमुख निरमले सचि नामि रहहि लिव लाइ ॥
Is jug mėh gurmukẖ nirmale sacẖ nām rahėh liv lā▫e.
In this age, the Gurmukhs are pure; they remain absorbed in the love of the True Name.

ਵਿਣੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਹੀ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
विणु करमा किछु पाईऐ नही किआ करि कहिआ जाइ ॥२॥
viṇ karmā kicẖẖ pā▫ī▫ai nahī ki▫ā kar kahi▫ā jā▫e. ||2||
Without the destiny of good karma, nothing can be obtained; what can we say or do? ||2||

ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਮਨਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ
आपु पछाणहि सबदि मरहि मनहु तजि विकार ॥
Āp pacẖẖāṇėh sabaḏ marėh manhu ṯaj vikār.
He understands his own self, and dies in the Word of the Shabad; he banishes corruption from his mind.

ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜਿ ਪਏ ਬਖਸੇ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰ ॥੩॥
गुर सरणाई भजि पए बखसे बखसणहार ॥३॥
Gur sarṇā▫ī bẖaj pa▫e bakẖse bakẖsaṇhār. ||3||
He hurries to the Guru's Sanctuary, and is forgiven by the Forgiving Lord. ||3||

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ
बिनु नावै सुखु न पाईऐ ना दुखु विचहु जाइ ॥
Bin nāvai sukẖ na pā▫ī▫ai nā ḏukẖ vicẖahu jā▫e.
Without the Name, peace is not obtained, and pain does not depart from within.

ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇ ॥੪॥
इहु जगु माइआ मोहि विआपिआ दूजै भरमि भुलाइ ॥४॥
Ih jag mā▫i▫ā mohi vi▫āpi▫ā ḏūjai bẖaram bẖulā▫e. ||4||
This world is engrossed in attachment to Maya; it has gone astray in duality and doubt. ||4||

ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਪਿਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਜਾਣਹੀ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ
दोहागणी पिर की सार न जाणही किआ करि करहि सीगारु ॥
Ḏuhāgaṇī pir kī sār na jāṇhī ki▫ā kar karahi sīgār.
The forsaken soul-brides do not know the value of their Husband Lord; how can they decorate themselves?

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਜਲਦੀਆ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਸੇਜੈ ਰਵੈ ਭਤਾਰੁ ॥੫॥
अनदिनु सदा जलदीआ फिरहि सेजै रवै न भतारु ॥५॥
An▫ḏin saḏā jalḏī▫ā firėh sejai ravai na bẖaṯār. ||5||
Night and day, they continually burn, and they do not enjoy the Bed of their Husband Lord. ||5||

ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ
सोहागणी महलु पाइआ विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥
Sohāgaṇī mahal pā▫i▫ā vicẖahu āp gavā▫e.
The happy soul-brides obtain the Mansion of His Presence, eradicating their self-conceit from within.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸੀਗਾਰੀਆ ਅਪਣੇ ਸਹਿ ਲਈਆ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੬॥
गुर सबदी सीगारीआ अपणे सहि लईआ मिलाइ ॥६॥
Gur sabḏī sīgārī▫ā apṇe sėh la▫ī▫ā milā▫e. ||6||
They decorate themselves with the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and their Husband Lord unites them with Himself. ||6||

ਮਰਣਾ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ
मरणा मनहु विसारिआ माइआ मोहु गुबारु ॥
Marṇā manhu visāri▫ā mā▫i▫ā moh gubār.
He has forgotten death, in the darkness of attachment to Maya.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਭੀ ਮਰਹਿ ਜਮ ਦਰਿ ਹੋਹਿ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥੭॥
मनमुख मरि मरि जमहि भी मरहि जम दरि होहि खुआरु ॥७॥
Manmukẖ mar mar jamėh bẖī marėh jam ḏar hohi kẖu▫ār. ||7||
The self-willed manmukhs die again and again, and are reborn; they die again, and are miserable at the Gate of Death. ||7||

ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਸੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ
आपि मिलाइअनु से मिले गुर सबदि वीचारि ॥
Āp milā▫i▫an se mile gur sabaḏ vīcẖār.
They alone are united, whom the Lord unites with Himself; they contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਤਿਤੁ ਸਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੮॥੨੨॥੧੫॥੩੭॥
नानक नामि समाणे मुख उजले तितु सचै दरबारि ॥८॥२२॥१५॥३७॥
Nānak nām samāṇe mukẖ ujle ṯiṯ sacẖai ḏarbār. ||8||22||15||37||
O Nanak, they are absorbed in the Naam; their faces are radiant, in that True Court. ||8||22||15||37||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ਅਸਟਪਦੀਆ ਘਰੁ
आसा महला ५ असटपदीआ घरु २
Āsā mėhlā 5 asatpaḏī▫ā gẖar 2
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl, Ashtapadees, Second House:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਪੰਚ ਮਨਾਏ ਪੰਚ ਰੁਸਾਏ
पंच मनाए पंच रुसाए ॥
Pancẖ manā▫e pancẖ rusā▫e.
When the five virtues were reconciled, and the five passions were estranged,

ਪੰਚ ਵਸਾਏ ਪੰਚ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੧॥
पंच वसाए पंच गवाए ॥१॥
Pancẖ vasā▫e pancẖ gavā▫e. ||1||
I enshrined the five within myself, and cast out the other five. ||1||

ਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਗਰੁ ਵੁਠਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ
इन्ह बिधि नगरु वुठा मेरे भाई ॥
Inĥ biḏẖ nagar vuṯẖā mere bẖā▫ī.
In this way, the village of my body became inhabited, O my Siblings of Destiny.

ਦੁਰਤੁ ਗਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
दुरतु गइआ गुरि गिआनु द्रिड़ाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḏuraṯ ga▫i▫ā gur gi▫ān ḏariṛā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Vice departed, and the Guru's spiritual wisdom was implanted within me. ||1||Pause||

ਸਾਚ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਵਾਰਿ
साच धरम की करि दीनी वारि ॥
Sācẖ ḏẖaram kī kar ḏīnī vār.
The fence of true Dharmic religion has been built around it.

ਫਰਹੇ ਮੁਹਕਮ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
फरहे मुहकम गुर गिआनु बीचारि ॥२॥
Farhe muhkam gur gi▫ān bīcẖār. ||2||
The spiritual wisdom and reflective meditation of the Guru has become its strong gate. ||2||

ਨਾਮੁ ਖੇਤੀ ਬੀਜਹੁ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ
नामु खेती बीजहु भाई मीत ॥
Nām kẖeṯī bījahu bẖā▫ī mīṯ.
So plant the seed of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O friends, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਸਉਦਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਨੀਤ ॥੩॥
सउदा करहु गुरु सेवहु नीत ॥३॥
Sa▫uḏā karahu gur sevhu nīṯ. ||3||
Deal only in the constant service of the Guru. ||3||

ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਹਾਟ
सांति सहज सुख के सभि हाट ॥
Sāʼnṯ sahj sukẖ ke sabẖ hāt.
With intuitive peace and happiness, all the shops are filled.

ਸਾਹ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਏਕੈ ਥਾਟ ॥੪॥
साह वापारी एकै थाट ॥४॥
Sāh vāpārī ekai thāt. ||4||
The Banker and the dealers dwell in the same place. ||4||

ਜੇਜੀਆ ਡੰਨੁ ਕੋ ਲਏ ਜਗਾਤਿ
जेजीआ डंनु को लए न जगाति ॥
Jejī▫ā dann ko la▫e na jagāṯ.
There is no tax on non-believers, nor any fines or taxes at death.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਛਾਪ ॥੫॥
सतिगुरि करि दीनी धुर की छाप ॥५॥
Saṯgur kar ḏīnī ḏẖur kī cẖẖāp. ||5||
The True Guru has set the Seal of the Primal Lord upon these goods. ||5||

ਵਖਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਦਿ ਖੇਪ ਚਲਾਵਹੁ
वखरु नामु लदि खेप चलावहु ॥
vakẖar nām laḏ kẖep cẖalāvahu.
So load the merchandise of the Naam, and set sail with your cargo.

ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਵਹੁ ॥੬॥
लै लाहा गुरमुखि घरि आवहु ॥६॥
Lai lāhā gurmukẖ gẖar āvhu. ||6||
Earn your profit, as Gurmukh, and you shall return to your own home. ||6||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਹੁ ਸਿਖ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ
सतिगुरु साहु सिख वणजारे ॥
Saṯgur sāhu sikẖ vaṇjāre.
The True Guru is the Banker, and His Sikhs are the traders.

ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥੭॥
पूंजी नामु लेखा साचु सम्हारे ॥७॥
Pūnjī nām lekẖā sācẖ samĥāre. ||7||
Their merchandise is the Naam, and meditation on the True Lord is their account. ||7||

ਸੋ ਵਸੈ ਇਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸੇਵ
सो वसै इतु घरि जिसु गुरु पूरा सेव ॥
So vasai iṯ gẖar jis gur pūrā sev.
One who serves the True Guru dwells in this house.

ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨਗਰੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ॥੮॥੧॥
अबिचल नगरी नानक देव ॥८॥१॥
Abicẖal nagrī Nānak ḏev. ||8||1||
O Nanak, the Divine City is eternal. ||8||1||
