ਜੇਹੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਰਾਈਐ ਕਰਣੀ ਭੀ ਸਾਈ
जेही सेव कराईऐ करणी भी साई ॥
Jehī sev karā▫ī▫ai karṇī bẖī sā▫ī.
Whatever service the Lord causes us to do, that is just what we do.

ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਵੇਖੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੭॥
आपि करे किसु आखीऐ वेखै वडिआई ॥७॥
Āp kare kis ākẖī▫ai vekẖai vadi▫ā▫ī. ||7||
He Himself acts; who else should be mentioned? He beholds His own greatness. ||7||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ
गुर की सेवा सो करे जिसु आपि कराए ॥
Gur kī sevā so kare jis āp karā▫e.
He alone serves the Guru, whom the Lord Himself inspires to do so.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਰੁ ਦੇ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੮॥੧੮॥
नानक सिरु दे छूटीऐ दरगह पति पाए ॥८॥१८॥
Nānak sir ḏe cẖẖūtī▫ai ḏargėh paṯ pā▫e. ||8||18||
O Nanak, offering his head, one is emancipated, and honored in the Court of the Lord. ||8||18||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
आसा महला १ ॥
Āsā mėhlā 1.
Aasaa, First Mehl:

ਰੂੜੋ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮਾਹਰੋ ਰੂੜੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ
रूड़ो ठाकुर माहरो रूड़ी गुरबाणी ॥
Rūṛo ṯẖākur māhro rūṛī gurbāṇī.
Beautiful is the Supreme Lord and Master, and beautiful is the Word of the Guru's Bani.

ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਾਈਐ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
वडै भागि सतिगुरु मिलै पाईऐ पदु निरबाणी ॥१॥
vadai bẖāg saṯgur milai pā▫ī▫ai paḏ nirbāṇī. ||1||
By great good fortune, one meets the True Guru, and the supreme status of Nirvaanaa is obtained. ||1||

ਮੈ ਓਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਗੀਆ ਓਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਗੀ ਹਮ ਛੋਰੂ ਥਾਰੇ
मै ओल्हगीआ ओल्हगी हम छोरू थारे ॥
Mai olĥgī▫ā olĥgī ham cẖẖorū thāre.
I am the lowest slave of Your slaves; I am Your most humble servant.

ਜਿਉ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਰਹਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जिउ तूं राखहि तिउ रहा मुखि नामु हमारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ji▫o ṯūʼn rākẖahi ṯi▫o rahā mukẖ nām hamāre. ||1|| rahā▫o.
As You keep me, I live. Your Name is in my mouth. ||1||Pause||

ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਘਣੀ ਭਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈਐ
दरसन की पिआसा घणी भाणै मनि भाईऐ ॥
Ḏarsan kī pi▫āsā gẖaṇī bẖāṇai man bẖā▫ī▫ai.
I have such a great thirst for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; my mind accepts Your Will, and so You are pleased with me.

ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਾਥਿ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਭਾਣੈ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
मेरे ठाकुर हाथि वडिआईआ भाणै पति पाईऐ ॥२॥
Mere ṯẖākur hāth vaḏi▫ā▫ī▫ā bẖāṇai paṯ pā▫ī▫ai. ||2||
Greatness is in the Hands of my Lord and Master; by His Will, honor is obtained. ||2||

ਸਾਚਉ ਦੂਰਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ
साचउ दूरि न जाणीऐ अंतरि है सोई ॥
Sācẖa▫o ḏūr na jāṇī▫ai anṯar hai so▫ī.
Do not think that the True Lord is far away; He is deep within.

ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਨਿ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥
जह देखा तह रवि रहे किनि कीमति होई ॥३॥
Jah ḏekẖā ṯah rav rahe kin kīmaṯ ho▫ī. ||3||
Wherever I look, there I find Him pervading; how can I estimate His value? ||3||

ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਆਪੇ ਹਰੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ
आपि करे आपे हरे वेखै वडिआई ॥
Āp kare āpe hare vekẖai vadi▫ā▫ī.
He Himself does, and He Himself undoes. He Himself beholds His glorious greatness.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਾਲੀਐ ਇਉ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥
गुरमुखि होइ निहालीऐ इउ कीमति पाई ॥४॥
Gurmukẖ ho▫e nihālī▫ai i▫o kīmaṯ pā▫ī. ||4||
Becoming Gurmukh, one beholds Him, and so, His value is appraised. ||4||

ਜੀਵਦਿਆ ਲਾਹਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ
जीवदिआ लाहा मिलै गुर कार कमावै ॥
Jīvḏi▫ā lāhā milai gur kār kamāvai.
So earn your profits while you are alive, by serving the Guru.

ਪੂਰਬਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੫॥
पूरबि होवै लिखिआ ता सतिगुरु पावै ॥५॥
Pūrab hovai likẖi▫ā ṯā saṯgur pāvai. ||5||
If it is so pre-ordained, then one finds the True Guru. ||5||

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤੋਟਾ ਨਿਤ ਹੈ ਭਰਮਹਿ ਭਰਮਾਏ
मनमुख तोटा नित है भरमहि भरमाए ॥
Manmukẖ ṯotā niṯ hai bẖarmėh bẖarmā▫e.
The self-willed manmukhs continually lose, and wander around, deluded by doubt.

ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਚੇਤਈ ਕਿਉ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੬॥
मनमुखु अंधु न चेतई किउ दरसनु पाए ॥६॥
Manmukẖ anḏẖ na cẖeṯ▫ī ki▫o ḏarsan pā▫e. ||6||
The blind manmukhs do not remember the Lord; how can they obtain the Blessed Vision of His Darshan? ||6||

ਤਾ ਜਗਿ ਆਇਆ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਸਾਚੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ
ता जगि आइआ जाणीऐ साचै लिव लाए ॥
Ŧā jag ā▫i▫ā jāṇī▫ai sācẖai liv lā▫e.
One's coming into the world is judged worthwhile only if one lovingly attunes oneself to the True Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਭਏ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੭॥
गुर भेटे पारसु भए जोती जोति मिलाए ॥७॥
Gur bẖete pāras bẖa▫e joṯī joṯ milā▫e. ||7||
Meeting the Guru, one becomes invaluable; his light merges into the Light. ||7||

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਰਾਲਮੋ ਕਾਰ ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਰਣੀ
अहिनिसि रहै निरालमो कार धुर की करणी ॥
Ahinis rahai nirālmo kār ḏẖur kī karṇī.
Day and night, he remains detached, and serves the Primal Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਰਾਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ॥੮॥੧੯॥
नानक नामि संतोखीआ राते हरि चरणी ॥८॥१९॥
Nānak nām sanṯokẖī▫ā rāṯe har cẖarṇī. ||8||19||
O Nanak, those who are imbued with the Lord's Lotus Feet, are content with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||8||19||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
आसा महला १ ॥
Āsā mėhlā 1.
Aasaa, First Mehl:

ਕੇਤਾ ਆਖਣੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਜਾਣਾ
केता आखणु आखीऐ ता के अंत न जाणा ॥
Keṯā ākẖaṇ ākẖī▫ai ṯā ke anṯ na jāṇā.
No matter how much one may describe the Lord, His limits still cannot be known.

ਮੈ ਨਿਧਰਿਆ ਧਰ ਏਕ ਤੂੰ ਮੈ ਤਾਣੁ ਸਤਾਣਾ ॥੧॥
मै निधरिआ धर एक तूं मै ताणु सताणा ॥१॥
Mai niḏẖri▫ā ḏẖar ek ṯūʼn mai ṯāṇ saṯāṇā. ||1||
I am without any support; You, O Lord, are my only Support; You are my almighty power. ||1||

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਸਚ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ
नानक की अरदासि है सच नामि सुहेला ॥
Nānak kī arḏās hai sacẖ nām suhelā.
This is Nanak's prayer, that he may be adorned with the True Name.

ਆਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮੇਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
आपु गइआ सोझी पई गुर सबदी मेला ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Āp ga▫i▫ā sojẖī pa▫ī gur sabḏī melā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
When self-conceit is eradicated, and understanding is obtained, one meets the Lord, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||1||Pause||

ਹਉਮੈ ਗਰਬੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ ਪਾਈਐ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ
हउमै गरबु गवाईऐ पाईऐ वीचारु ॥
Ha▫umai garab gavā▫ī▫ai pā▫ī▫ai vīcẖār.
Abandoning egotism and pride, one obtains contemplative understanding.

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਚੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
साहिब सिउ मनु मानिआ दे साचु अधारु ॥२॥
Sāhib si▫o man māni▫ā ḏe sācẖ aḏẖār. ||2||
When the mind surrenders to the Lord Master, He bestows the support of the Truth. ||2||

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਈ
अहिनिसि नामि संतोखीआ सेवा सचु साई ॥
Ahinis nām sanṯokẖī▫ā sevā sacẖ sā▫ī.
Day and night, remain content with the Naam, the Name of the Lord; that is the true service.

ਤਾ ਕਉ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਲਾਗਈ ਚਾਲੈ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
ता कउ बिघनु न लागई चालै हुकमि रजाई ॥३॥
Ŧā ka▫o bigẖan na lāg▫ī cẖālai hukam rajā▫ī. ||3||
No misfortune troubles one who follows the Command of the Lord's Will. ||3||

ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਜਾਈ ਜੋ ਚਲੈ ਸੋ ਪਵੈ ਖਜਾਨੈ
हुकमि रजाई जो चलै सो पवै खजानै ॥
Hukam rajā▫ī jo cẖalai so pavai kẖajānai.
One who follows the Command of the Lord's Will is taken into the Lord's Treasury.

ਖੋਟੇ ਠਵਰ ਪਾਇਨੀ ਰਲੇ ਜੂਠਾਨੈ ॥੪॥
खोटे ठवर न पाइनी रले जूठानै ॥४॥
Kẖote ṯẖavar na pā▫inī rale jūṯẖānai. ||4||
The counterfeit find no place there; they are mixed with the false ones. ||4||

ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਖਰਾ ਸਮਾਲੀਐ ਸਚੁ ਸਉਦਾ ਪਾਈਐ
नित नित खरा समालीऐ सचु सउदा पाईऐ ॥
Niṯ niṯ kẖarā samālī▫ai sacẖ sa▫uḏā pā▫ī▫ai.
Forever and ever, the genuine coins are treasured; with them, the true merchandise is purchased.

ਖੋਟੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਆਵਨੀ ਲੇ ਅਗਨਿ ਜਲਾਈਐ ॥੫॥
खोटे नदरि न आवनी ले अगनि जलाईऐ ॥५॥
Kẖote naḏar na āvnī le agan jalā▫ī▫ai. ||5||
The false ones are not seen in the Lord's Treasury; they are seized and cast into the fire again. ||5||

ਜਿਨੀ ਆਤਮੁ ਚੀਨਿਆ ਪਰਮਾਤਮੁ ਸੋਈ
जिनी आतमु चीनिआ परमातमु सोई ॥
Jinī āṯam cẖīni▫ā parmāṯam so▫ī.
Those who understand their own souls, are themselves the Supreme Soul.

ਏਕੋ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਫਲੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੬॥
एको अम्रित बिरखु है फलु अम्रितु होई ॥६॥
Ėko amriṯ birakẖ hai fal amriṯ ho▫ī. ||6||
The One Lord is the tree of ambrosial nectar, which bears the ambrosial fruit. ||6||

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਫਲੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਅਘਾਈ
अम्रित फलु जिनी चाखिआ सचि रहे अघाई ॥
Amriṯ fal jinī cẖākẖi▫ā sacẖ rahe agẖā▫ī.
Those who taste the ambrosial fruit remain satisfied with Truth.

ਤਿੰਨਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਭੇਦੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਈ ॥੭॥
तिंना भरमु न भेदु है हरि रसन रसाई ॥७॥
Ŧinnā bẖaram na bẖeḏ hai har rasan rasā▫ī. ||7||
They have no doubt or sense of separation - their tongues taste the divine taste. ||7||

ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਆਇਆ ਚਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਰਜਾਈ
हुकमि संजोगी आइआ चलु सदा रजाई ॥
Hukam sanjogī ā▫i▫ā cẖal saḏā rajā▫ī.
By His Command, and through your past actions, you came into the world; walk forever according to His Will.

ਅਉਗਣਿਆਰੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਣੁ ਨਾਨਕੈ ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਾਈ ॥੮॥੨੦॥
अउगणिआरे कउ गुणु नानकै सचु मिलै वडाई ॥८॥२०॥
A▫ogaṇi▫āre ka▫o guṇ nānkai sacẖ milai vadā▫ī. ||8||20||
Please, grant virtue to Nanak, the virtueless one; bless him with the glorious greatness of the Truth. ||8||20||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
आसा महला १ ॥
Āsā mėhlā 1.
Aasaa, First Mehl:

ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣਿਆ
मनु रातउ हरि नाइ सचु वखाणिआ ॥
Man rāṯa▫o har nā▫e sacẖ vakẖāṇi▫ā.
One whose mind is attuned to the Lord's Name speaks the truth.

ਲੋਕਾ ਦਾ ਕਿਆ ਜਾਇ ਜਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਿਆ ॥੧॥
लोका दा किआ जाइ जा तुधु भाणिआ ॥१॥
Lokā ḏā ki▫ā jā▫e jā ṯuḏẖ bẖāṇi▫ā. ||1||
What would the people lose, if I became pleasing to You, O Lord? ||1||
