ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵੀਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
He is Unrealizable and Inscrutable.

ਤਾਂ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥
Do thou bear love with Him.
|
ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਮਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥
He perishes and dies not.
|
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥
Thought the Guru, He is known.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੫੯॥
Nanak, my mind is propitiated with the Lord, O my soul.

ਆਸਾਵਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Asawari 5th Guru.
|
ਏਕਾ ਓਟ ਗਹੁ ਹਾਂ ॥
Grasp the protection of one God.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਹੁ ਹਾਂ ॥
Utter thou the hymns of the Guru.
|
ਆਗਿਆ ਸਤਿ ਸਹੁ ਹਾਂ ॥
Submit thou to the Lord's true fiat.
|
ਮਨਹਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਲਹੁ ਹਾਂ ॥
Receive the Name treasure in thy mind.
|
ਸੁਖਹਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Thou shalt thou dwell in peace, O my soul. Pause.
|
ਜੀਵਤ ਜੋ ਮਰੈ ਹਾਂ ॥
He who in life is dead,
|
ਦੁਤਰੁ ਸੋ ਤਰੈ ਹਾਂ ॥
crosses the terrible world ocean.
|
ਸਭ ਕੀ ਰੇਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
He, who become the dust of all men's feet,
|
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਕਹਉ ਸੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
him alone call thou the fearless one.
|
ਮਿਟੇ ਅੰਦੇਸਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥
All worries are eliminated,
|
ਸੰਤ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥
with the saints instruction, O my soul.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਹਾਂ ॥
The man, whose happiness is in the Name,
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਕਦੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਾਂ ॥
he suffers not in any pain.
|
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨੇ ਹਾਂ ॥
He who listens to Lord God's praise,
|
ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੰਨੇ ਹਾਂ ॥
all the men obey him.
|
ਸਫਲੁ ਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ॥
Nanak, profitable is his coming into the world,
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੬੦॥
he who is pleasing to the Lord, O my soul
|
ਆਸਾਵਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Asawari 5th Guru.
|
ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
Meeting together let us sing God's praise,
|
ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
and obtain the supreme status.
|
ਉਆ ਰਸ ਜੋ ਬਿਧੇ ਹਾਂ ॥
They, who obtain that Nectar,
|
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਧੇ ਹਾਂ ॥
attain to all the occult power.
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥
Who remain wakeful night and day (remembering him),
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਡਭਾਗਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Nanak, they are very fortunate, O my soul. Pause.
|
ਸੰਤ ਪਗ ਧੋਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
Let us shampoo saints feet,
|
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
and cleanse our evil intellect.
|
ਦਾਸਹ ਰੇਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
By becoming the dust of his slaves feet,
|
ਬਿਆਪੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
no suffering befalls the man.
|
ਭਗਤਾਂ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰੁ ਹਾਂ ॥
Entering the sanctuary of God's devotees,
|
ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਕਦੇ ਮਰੁ ਹਾਂ ॥
the mortal never suffers birth and death.
|
ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸੇ ਭਏ ਹਾਂ ॥
They alone become eternal,
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਜਪਿ ਲਏ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥
who utter God's Name, O my soul.
|
ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਤੂੰ ਹਾਂ ॥
Thou art my friend and intimate, (O my Guru).
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇ ਮੂੰ ਹਾਂ ॥
Implant God's Name within me,
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
without him, there is not another.
|
ਮਨਹਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਸੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
within my mind I remember Him.
|
ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਹਾਂ ॥
Even for an instant I forget Him not.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਉ ਸਰੈ ਹਾਂ ॥
How can I do without Him?
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ਜਾਉ ਹਾਂ ॥
I am a sacrifice unto my Guru.
|
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਪੇ ਨਾਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੬੧॥
O Nanak, my soul ever repeats Lord's Name.

ਆਸਾਵਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Asawari 5th Guru.
|
ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੂੰ ਹਾਂ ॥
Thou art the cause of causes,
|
ਅਵਰੁ ਨਾ ਸੁਝੈ ਮੂੰ ਹਾਂ ॥
I can think not another.
|
ਕਰਹਿ ਸੁ ਹੋਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
What Thou doesn't that comes to pass.
|
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੋਈਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
I, therefore, sleep in poise and peace.
|
ਧੀਰਜ ਮਨਿ ਭਏ ਹਾਂ ॥
My mind has become patient,
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਦਰਿ ਪਏ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
since the time I have fallen at Lord's door, O my soul. Pause.
|
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਮੇ ਹਾਂ ॥
I have joined the society of saints,
|
ਪੂਰਨ ਸੰਜਮੇ ਹਾਂ ॥
and have full control over my sense organs.
|
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਛੁਟੇ ਆਪ ਹਾਂ ॥
From the time I am rid of self conceit,
|
ਤਬ ਤੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਤਾਪ ਹਾਂ ॥
since then my suffering have ceased.
|
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀਆ ਹਾਂ ॥
The Lord has shown mercy unto me.
|
ਪਤਿ ਰਖੁ ਬਨਵਾਰੀਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥
The Creator has preserved my honour, O my soul.
|
ਇਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਜਾਨੀਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
Undersatnd that happiness lies in,
|
ਹਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਮਾਨੀਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
accepting what God does.
|
ਮੰਦਾ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
No one is bad.
|
ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਰੇਨ ਹੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
Become thou the dust of saints feet.
|
ਆਪੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਖੈ ਹਾਂ ॥
He whom He Himself preserves,
|
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸੋ ਚਖੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥
tastes God's elixir, O my soul.
|
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
He who has none to call his own,
|
ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥
that Lord is of him.
|
ਅੰਤਰਗਤਿ ਬੁਝੈ ਹਾਂ ॥
The Lord understands the condition of all the hearts.
|
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੁਝੈ ਹਾਂ ॥
He knows all the things.
|
ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਹਾਂ ॥
O Lord, save the defaulters,
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਏਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੩॥੬॥੧੬੨॥
this is Nanak's earnest supplication, O my soul.
|

ਓਇ ਪਰਦੇਸੀਆ ਹਾਂ ॥
O my stranger soul.
|
ਸੁਨਤ ਸੰਦੇਸਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Listen to the message. Pause.

ਜਾ ਸਿਉ ਰਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ॥
