ਸਾਜਨ ਸੰਤ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਨੀਤਾ ਰੇ ॥
साजन संत हमारे मीता बिनु हरि हरि आनीता रे ॥
Sājan sanṯ hamāre mīṯā bin har har ānīṯā re.
O saints, my friends and intimates, without God's Name everything is perishable.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤਾ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
साधसंगि मिलि हरि गुण गाए इहु जनमु पदारथु जीता रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sāḏẖsang mil har guṇ gā▫e ih janam paḏārath jīṯā re. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Joining the society of Saints, I have won this precious human life by singing God's praise. Pause.

ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਵਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਰੀਐ ਰੇ ॥
त्रै गुण माइआ ब्रहम की कीन्ही कहहु कवन बिधि तरीऐ रे ॥
Ŧarai guṇ mā▫i▫ā barahm kī kīnĥī kahhu kavan biḏẖ ṯarī▫ai re.
The Lord has fashioned the world of three qualities. Say, O man, in what way can it be crossed?

ਘੂਮਨ ਘੇਰ ਅਗਾਹ ਗਾਖਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਰੀਐ ਰੇ ॥੨॥
घूमन घेर अगाह गाखरी गुर सबदी पारि उतरीऐ रे ॥२॥
Gẖūman gẖer agāh gākẖrī gur sabḏī pār uṯrī▫ai re. ||2||
The whirl-pool is unfathomable and formidable, and by Guru's word it is ferried across.

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਤਤੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਜਾਨਾ ਰੇ ॥
खोजत खोजत खोजि बीचारिओ ततु नानक इहु जाना रे ॥
Kẖojaṯ kẖojaṯ kẖoj bīcẖāri▫o ṯaṯ Nānak ih jānā re.
By continually searching, seeking and deliberating; Nanak has realised that,

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਣਕੁ ਪਤੀਆਨਾ ਰੇ ॥੩॥੧॥੧੩੦॥
सिमरत नामु निधानु निरमोलकु मनु माणकु पतीआना रे ॥३॥१॥१३०॥
Simraṯ nām niḏẖān nirmolak man māṇak paṯī▫ānā re. ||3||1||130||
by meditating on the invaluable Name treasure, the heart jewel is appeased.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਜੋ ਮਾਗਉ ਸੋ ਪਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥
गुर परसादि मेरै मनि वसिआ जो मागउ सो पावउ रे ॥
Gur parsāḏ merai man vasi▫ā jo māga▫o so pāva▫o re.
By Guru's grace, the Lord is enshrined within my mind, and whatever I Ask for, that I receive.

ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨਾ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਧਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
नाम रंगि इहु मनु त्रिपताना बहुरि न कतहूं धावउ रे ॥१॥
Nām rang ih man ṯaripṯānā bahur na kaṯahūʼn ḏẖāva▫o re. ||1||
With Name's love this mind is sated and goes not anywhere else, again.

ਹਮਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਗਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥
हमरा ठाकुरु सभ ते ऊचा रैणि दिनसु तिसु गावउ रे ॥
Hamrā ṯẖākur sabẖ ṯe ūcẖā raiṇ ḏinas ṯis gāva▫o re.
My Master is the highest of all, and, night and day, I sing His praises.

ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਡਰਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
खिन महि थापि उथापनहारा तिस ते तुझहि डरावउ रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kẖin mėh thāp uthāpanhārā ṯis ṯe ṯujẖėh darāva▫o re. ||1|| rahā▫o.
In a moment, he is potent to establish and to disestablish, and through Him, I frighten thee. Pause.

ਜਬ ਦੇਖਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਉ ਅਵਰਹਿ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥
जब देखउ प्रभु अपुना सुआमी तउ अवरहि चीति न पावउ रे ॥
Jab ḏekẖ▫a▫u parabẖ apunā su▫āmī ṯa▫o avrahi cẖīṯ na pāva▫o re.
When I behold my Lord Master, then I place not another within my mind.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਮੇਟਿ ਲਿਖਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੩੧॥
नानकु दासु प्रभि आपि पहिराइआ भ्रमु भउ मेटि लिखावउ रे ॥२॥२॥१३१॥
Nānak ḏās parabẖ āp pėhrā▫i▫ā bẖaram bẖa▫o met likẖāva▫o re. ||2||2||131||
The Lord Himself has dressed slave Nanak with the robe of honour and dispelling his doubt and dread, he writes Lord's praises.

ਚਾਰਿ ਬਰਨ ਚਉਹਾ ਕੇ ਮਰਦਨ ਖਟੁ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਤਲੀ ਰੇ ॥
चारि बरन चउहा के मरदन खटु दरसन कर तली रे ॥
Cẖār baran cẖa▫uhā ke marḏan kẖat ḏarsan kar ṯalī re.
The four castes, the holy-men of four castes, the persons on whose hand's palm are the six Shastras,

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਘਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਸਿਆਨੇ ਪੰਚਹੁ ਹੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਛਲੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
सुंदर सुघर सरूप सिआने पंचहु ही मोहि छली रे ॥१॥
Sunḏar sugẖar sarūp si▫āne pancẖahu hī mohi cẖẖalī re. ||1||
the beauteous, the accomplished, the fascinating and the wise, them all the five mortal passions have bewitched and beguiled.

ਜਿਨਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਪੰਚ ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਐਸੋ ਕਉਨੁ ਬਲੀ ਰੇ ॥
जिनि मिलि मारे पंच सूरबीर ऐसो कउनु बली रे ॥
Jin mil māre pancẖ sūrbīr aiso ka▫un balī re.
Who is there such a powerful person, who has seized and destroyed the five puissant heroes.

ਜਿਨਿ ਪੰਚ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰਿ ਗੁਦਾਰੇ ਸੋ ਪੂਰਾ ਇਹ ਕਲੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जिनि पंच मारि बिदारि गुदारे सो पूरा इह कली रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jin pancẖ mār biḏār guḏāre so pūrā ih kalī re. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He, who passes his life having defeated and slain the five, is perfect in this Dark age. Pause.

ਵਡੀ ਕੋਮ ਵਸਿ ਭਾਗਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੁਹਕਮ ਫਉਜ ਹਠਲੀ ਰੇ ॥
वडी कोम वसि भागहि नाही मुहकम फउज हठली रे ॥
vadī kom vas bẖāgėh nāhī muhkam fa▫uj haṯẖlī re.
Theirs is a great race, which cannot be controlled and which flees not. They form a mighty and stubborn army.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਨਿਰਦਲਿਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਝਲੀ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੩੨॥
कहु नानक तिनि जनि निरदलिआ साधसंगति कै झली रे ॥२॥३॥१३२॥
Kaho Nānak ṯin jan nirḏali▫ā sāḏẖsangaṯ kai jẖalī re. ||2||3||132||
Says Nanak, the man who is under the protection of saints society crushes them.

ਨੀਕੀ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਊਤਮ ਆਨ ਸਗਲ ਰਸ ਫੀਕੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
नीकी जीअ की हरि कथा ऊतम आन सगल रस फीकी रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Nīkī jī▫a kī har kathā ūṯam ān sagal ras fīkī re. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The good thing for the soul is the Lord's sublime discourse. All other relishes are insipid. Pause.

ਬਹੁ ਗੁਨਿ ਧੁਨਿ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਖਟੁ ਬੇਤੇ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਿਛੁ ਲਾਈਕੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
बहु गुनि धुनि मुनि जन खटु बेते अवरु न किछु लाईकी रे ॥१॥
Baho gun ḏẖun mun jan kẖat beṯe avar na kicẖẖ lā▫īkī re. ||1||
The men of many merits, expert musicians. silent sages and knowers of six Shashtras deem noting else worthy of man's deliberation.

ਬਿਖਾਰੀ ਨਿਰਾਰੀ ਅਪਾਰੀ ਸਹਜਾਰੀ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੀਕੀ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੩੩॥
बिखारी निरारी अपारी सहजारी साधसंगि नानक पीकी रे ॥२॥४॥१३३॥
Bikẖārī nirārī apārī sėhjārī sāḏẖsang Nānak pīkī re. ||2||4||133||
This discourse of God is an antidote to passion, singular, unequalled, peace-giving and is quaffed in the saints society, O Nanak.

ਹਮਾਰੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਟਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हमारी पिआरी अम्रित धारी गुरि निमख न मन ते टारी रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Hamārī pi▫ārī amriṯ ḏẖārī gur nimakẖ na man ṯe tārī re. ||1|| rahā▫o.
It (Gurbani) is sweet unto me and it is stream of Nectar. The Guru has not diverted it from my mind. Even for a moment. Pause.

ਦਰਸਨ ਪਰਸਨ ਸਰਸਨ ਹਰਸਨ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗੀ ਕਰਤਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
दरसन परसन सरसन हरसन रंगि रंगी करतारी रे ॥१॥
Ḏarsan parsan sarsan harsan rang rangī karṯārī re. ||1||
On beholding and touching it, I am sweetened and delighted. It is imbued with creator's love.

ਖਿਨੁ ਰਮ ਗੁਰ ਗਮ ਹਰਿ ਦਮ ਨਹ ਜਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਰਿ ਹਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੩੪॥
खिनु रम गुर गम हरि दम नह जम हरि कंठि नानक उरि हारी रे ॥२॥५॥१३४॥
Kẖin ram gur gam har ḏam nah jam har kanṯẖ Nānak ur hārī re. ||2||5||134||
By reciting it even for a moment, man mounts to the Guru and by ever repeating it he is not trapped by Death's Courier. God has garlanded Nanak's neck and heart with Gurbani.

Good is the society of saints. Pause.

ਪਹਰ ਮੂਰਤ ਪਲ ਗਾਵਤ ਗਾਵਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਵਖਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
पहर मूरत पल गावत गावत गोविंद गोविंद वखानी ॥१॥
Pahar mūraṯ pal gāvaṯ gāvaṯ govinḏ govinḏ vakẖānī. ||1||
Every watch, hour and moment I continuously sing the praise of the world - preserver and speak of the Lord.

ਚਾਲਤ ਬੈਸਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਚਰਨ ਖਟਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
चालत बैसत सोवत हरि जसु मनि तनि चरन खटानी ॥२॥
Cẖālaṯ baisaṯ sovaṯ har jas man ṯan cẖaran kẖatānī. ||2||
Walking, sitting and sleeping, I utter God's praise, and to my mind body His feet are pleasing.

ਹਂਉ ਹਉਰੋ ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਗਉਰੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥੩॥੬॥੧੩੫॥
हंउ हउरो तू ठाकुरु गउरो नानक सरनि पछानी ॥३॥६॥१३५॥
Haʼn▫o ha▫uro ṯū ṯẖākur ga▫uro Nānak saran pacẖẖānī. ||3||6||135||
I am small, thou, O Lord art great. O Nanak, have sought thine protection.
