ਜੈਸੇ ਮੀਠੈ ਸਾਦਿ ਲੋਭਾਏ ਝੂਠ ਧੰਧਿ ਦੁਰਗਾਧੇ ॥੨॥
जैसे मीठै सादि लोभाए झूठ धंधि दुरगाधे ॥२॥
Jaise mīṯẖai sāḏ lobẖā▫e jẖūṯẖ ḏẖanḏẖ ḏurgāḏẖe. ||2||
As men are lured by sweet savours so art thou lured by false and filthy occupations.

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਰੁ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਇਹ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਰਸਿ ਲਪਟਾਧੇ ॥
काम क्रोध अरु लोभ मोह इह इंद्री रसि लपटाधे ॥
Kām kroḏẖ ar lobẖ moh ih inḏrī ras laptāḏẖe.
These sense organs of thine are attached to the pleasures of lust wrath avarice and worldly love.

ਦੀਈ ਭਵਾਰੀ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਬਿਧਾਤੈ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਜਨਮਾਧੇ ॥੩॥
दीई भवारी पुरखि बिधातै बहुरि बहुरि जनमाधे ॥३॥
Ḏī▫ī bẖavārī purakẖ biḏẖāṯai bahur bahur janmāḏẖe. ||3||
The Omnipotent scribe of destiny has caused thee to go round again and again in births.
|
ਜਉ ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਤਉ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਭ ਸੁਖ ਲਾਧੇ ॥
जउ भइओ क्रिपालु दीन दुख भंजनु तउ गुर मिलि सभ सुख लाधे ॥
Ja▫o bẖa▫i▫o kirpāl ḏīn ḏukẖ bẖanjan ṯa▫o gur mil sabẖ sukẖ lāḏẖe.
When the Destroyer of the sorrows of the poor becomes merciful then on meeting the Guru all the comforts are obtained.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ਮਾਰਿ ਕਾਢੀ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਧੇ ॥੪॥
कहु नानक दिनु रैनि धिआवउ मारि काढी सगल उपाधे ॥४॥
Kaho Nānak ḏin rain ḏẖi▫āva▫o mār kādẖī sagal upāḏẖe. ||4||
Says Nanak day and night I meditate on the Lord and He has beaten and banished all my ailments.

ਇਉ ਜਪਿਓ ਭਾਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ॥
इउ जपिओ भाई पुरखु बिधाते ॥
I▫o japi▫o bẖā▫ī purakẖ biḏẖāṯe.
Like this O my brother contemplate thou on the powerful Lord of destiny.

ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੨੬॥
भइओ क्रिपालु दीन दुख भंजनु जनम मरण दुख लाथे ॥१॥ रहाउ दूजा ॥४॥४॥१२६॥
Bẖa▫i▫o kirpāl ḏīn ḏukẖ bẖanjan janam maraṇ ḏukẖ lāthe. ||1|| rahā▫o ḏūjā. ||4||4||126||
The Remover of the grief of the meek has become compassionate and the pain of my birth and death is removed. Pause Second.

ਨਿਮਖ ਕਾਮ ਸੁਆਦ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਦਿਨਸ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
निमख काम सुआद कारणि कोटि दिनस दुखु पावहि ॥
Nimakẖ kām su▫āḏ kāraṇ kot ḏinas ḏukẖ pāvahi.
For a moment's sexual pleasure thou shalt suffer torture for millions of days.
|
ਘਰੀ ਮੁਹਤ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥
घरी मुहत रंग माणहि फिरि बहुरि बहुरि पछुतावहि ॥१॥
Gẖarī muhaṯ rang māṇėh fir bahur bahur pacẖẖuṯāvahi. ||1||
For an instant and a trice thou shalt enjoy revelments but afterwards thou shalt repent again and again.
|
ਅੰਧੇ ਚੇਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
अंधे चेति हरि हरि राइआ ॥
Anḏẖe cẖeṯ har har rā▫i▫ā.
O blind man meditate thou on thy Sovereign Lord Master.
|
ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋ ਦਿਨੁ ਨੇੜੈ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तेरा सो दिनु नेड़ै आइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧerā so ḏin neṛai ā▫i▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Thy that day of death is drawing nigh. Pause.
|
ਪਲਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਭੂਲੋ ਆਕ ਨੀਮ ਕੋ ਤੂੰਮਰੁ ॥
पलक द्रिसटि देखि भूलो आक नीम को तूमरु ॥
Palak ḏarisat ḏekẖ bẖūlo āk nīm ko ṯūʼnmar.
Thou art misled on beholding with thine eyes for a moment the ak (swallow wort neem (azadirachta) and tumma (indica)
|
ਜੈਸਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਬਿਸੀਅਰ ਸਿਉ ਹੈ ਰੇ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੀ ਇਹੁ ਪਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ॥੨॥
जैसा संगु बिसीअर सिउ है रे तैसो ही इहु पर ग्रिहु ॥२॥
Jaisā sang bisī▫ar si▫o hai re ṯaiso hī ih par garihu. ||2||
As is the companionship of a venomous serpent so is the ravishing of another's wife.
|
ਬੈਰੀ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਤਾ ਬਸਤੁ ਰਹੀ ਅਮਾਨਾ ॥
बैरी कारणि पाप करता बसतु रही अमाना ॥
Bairī kāraṇ pāp karṯā basaṯ rahī amānā.
Thou committest sins for the sake of wealth thy enemy and thou hast neglected the commodity of Lord's faith.

ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਾਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਬੈਰਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
छोडि जाहि तिन ही सिउ संगी साजन सिउ बैराना ॥३॥
Cẖẖod jāhi ṯin hī si▫o sangī sājan si▫o bairānā. ||3||
They who leave thee (in lurch) with them is thy friendship and with thy intimates thou bearest enmity.
|
ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਇਹੈ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਿਆਪਿਓ ਸੋ ਉਬਰਿਓ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
सगल संसारु इहै बिधि बिआपिओ सो उबरिओ जिसु गुरु पूरा ॥
Sagal sansār ihai biḏẖ bi▫āpi▫o so ubri▫o jis gur pūrā.
The entire world is entangled in this way. He alone is saved whose Guru is perfect.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਓ ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੨੭॥
कहु नानक भव सागरु तरिओ भए पुनीत सरीरा ॥४॥५॥१२७॥
Kaho Nānak bẖav sāgar ṯari▫o bẖa▫e punīṯ sarīrā. ||4||5||127||
Says Nanak I have crossed the terrible world ocean and my body has become purified.

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਦੁਪਦੇ ॥
आसा महला ५ दुपदे ॥
Āsā mėhlā 5 ḏupḏe.
Asa 5th Guru Dupade.

ਲੂਕਿ ਕਮਾਨੋ ਸੋਈ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਮੁਕਰਾਨੀ ॥
लूकि कमानो सोई तुम्ह पेखिओ मूड़ मुगध मुकरानी ॥
Lūk kamāno so▫ī ṯumĥ pekẖi▫o mūṛ mugaḏẖ mukrānī.
What man does in secret, that Though beholdest O Lord, though the fool and blockhead deny it.
|
ਆਪ ਕਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਲੇ ਬਾਂਧੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
आप कमाने कउ ले बांधे फिरि पाछै पछुतानी ॥१॥
Āp kamāne ka▫o le bāʼnḏẖe fir pācẖẖai pacẖẖuṯānī. ||1||
For his own actions, he is bound down and then, afterwards he regrets.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਆਗੈ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
प्रभ मेरे सभ बिधि आगै जानी ॥
Parabẖ mere sabẖ biḏẖ āgai jānī.
My Lord comes to know, before hand, all the designs of man.
|
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੇ ਮੂਸੇ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਤ ਪਰਦਾ ਪਾਛੈ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਮਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
भ्रम के मूसे तूं राखत परदा पाछै जीअ की मानी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bẖaram ke mūse ṯūʼn rākẖaṯ parḏā pācẖẖai jī▫a kī mānī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Deceived by doubt, though, O man, concealest thine deeds, but afterwards, though shalt have to confess the secrets of thy mind. Pause.
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਾਗੇ ਕਿਆ ਕੋ ਕਰੈ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥
जितु जितु लाए तितु तितु लागे किआ को करै परानी ॥
Jiṯ jiṯ lā▫e ṯiṯ ṯiṯ lāge ki▫ā ko karai parānī.
To whatever they(the people) are yoked, to that remain yoked. What can any mortal do?
|
ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੨੮॥
बखसि लैहु पारब्रहम सुआमी नानक सद कुरबानी ॥२॥६॥१२८॥
Bakẖas laihu pārbarahm su▫āmī Nānak saḏ kurbānī. ||2||6||128||
Pardon me, O Supreme Lord Master, Nanak is ever a sacrifice unto Thee.

ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਆਪੇ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵੈ ॥
अपुने सेवक की आपे राखै आपे नामु जपावै ॥
Apune sevak kī āpe rākẖai āpe nām japāvai.
The Lord Himself preserves the honour of His slave, and of Himself He causes him to repeat His name.
|
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਕਾਜ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਤਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
जह जह काज किरति सेवक की तहा तहा उठि धावै ॥१॥
Jah jah kāj kiraṯ sevak kī ṯahā ṯahā uṯẖ ḏẖāvai. ||1||
Wheresoever the business and affair of His slave is, thither the Lord runs.
|
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਨਿਕਟੀ ਹੋਇ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥
सेवक कउ निकटी होइ दिखावै ॥
Sevak ka▫o niktī ho▫e ḏikẖāvai.
To his servant, the Lord shows Himself to be near.
|
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਹੋਇ ਆਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जो जो कहै ठाकुर पहि सेवकु ततकाल होइ आवै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jo jo kahai ṯẖākur pėh sevak ṯaṯkāl ho▫e āvai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Whatever the servant asks his Master, forthwith comes to pass. Pause.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
तिसु सेवक कै हउ बलिहारी जो अपने प्रभ भावै ॥
Ŧis sevak kai ha▫o balihārī jo apne parabẖ bẖāvai.
I am a sacrifice unto the attendant, who is pleasing to his Master.
|
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਸੋਇ ਸੁਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਸਣਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੨੯॥
तिस की सोइ सुणी मनु हरिआ तिसु नानक परसणि आवै ॥२॥७॥१२९॥
Ŧis kī so▫e suṇī man hari▫ā ṯis Nānak parsaṇ āvai. ||2||7||129||
Hearing his glory, Nanak's mind is reverdured and to him Nanak goes to touch his feet.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but one God. By True Guru's grace He is obtained.
|
ਨਟੂਆ ਭੇਖ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੈਸਾ ਹੈ ਓਹੁ ਤੈਸਾ ਰੇ ॥
नटूआ भेख दिखावै बहु बिधि जैसा है ओहु तैसा रे ॥
Natū▫ā bẖekẖ ḏikẖāvai baho biḏẖ jaisā hai oh ṯaisā re.
The buffoon exhibits guises in many ways, but he remains the same as he is.
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸੁਖਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
अनिक जोनि भ्रमिओ भ्रम भीतरि सुखहि नाही परवेसा रे ॥१॥
Anik jon bẖarmi▫o bẖaram bẖīṯar sukẖėh nāhī parvesā re. ||1||
So does the soul wander in many births through doubt, but remains the same and enters not the peace.
|
